La baguette magigue is my new go to bakery. My favorite part about this bakery is that you’re transported to France with not just the decor but the smell of baked goods! When you first walk in there is a small selection of international food items like olive oil.The workers are very friendly and welcoming. I loved the way we were treated. They even offered complimentary jelly and butter up at the cash register. Which by the way, the jelly was amazing! There was a little of everything you could ever want! From Eclairs to the most amazing croissants! I was looking for more of a lunchtime meal so I ordered the Ham & cheese croissant. The crispy exterior would pass the knife test. The Swiss cheese and ham were nicely added in with a good bake! The buttery finish was amazing. I could not help but also order the chocolate croissant which was the French kiss of the whole experience! Absolutely delicious with the right amount of chocolate inside. We also ordered the bacon & cheese brioche. Crispy exterior with such soft structure on the inside! The cheese was melted on top with a sprinkle of bacon which topped it off really nicely. There were tiny pâte a chouxs that we could not pass up! The ratio of cream and puff pastry was so delicious two was just not enough! They had limited drinks options. With just sparkling water, sprite, kombucha and coffee. For all of my British bake off fans, Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith would approve in a heartbeat! I highly recommend this bakery and would come back as soon as I can!
La Baguette Magique is such a great place to have in the borough. The baguettes, croissants, quiche, Paris sandwiches - everything that I have had there has been absolutely delicious! I am taking away one star solely based on the slowness of the service. There is inevitably at least one person who is working and looking confused as to what they should be doing. There is zero sense of urgency. Their ordering/paying is incredibly inefficient. Either you should order while waiting in line and pay at the register or one person should be working the register while someone else is filling the bag as you order. So you should 100% go here, it is so so good, but plan at least 15-20 minutes for what should be a pop-in and pop-out experience.
One of the best pastry shop/bakeries in the USA right. Selection was not huge but literally EVERYTHING looked like it was made within 24 hrs.Are there places doing more elaborate or precise stuff? Without doubt. But only 1 other time have I seen it where everything is made that day.+ This place would be right at home in Paris. The espresso could have been a bit better but it was for sure more than drinkable. I live 3000 miles away, but Ill be here every time I visit PA.I wish theyd move to Seattle...
Live 2 hours away and visiting Longwood gardens and stopped in based on fabulous reviews. DELICIOUS!! Chocolate croissant and baguette was exceptionally tasty and my daughter quickly devoured her chocolate chip cookie. I was hoping for a greater selection of tarts but Ill stop in next time when Im in town! A must try!
Unsure if these five star reviews are legit or people don’t know what real quality is? This bakery has no macarons and the lady at the front desk got my order wrong. The quality is sub par at best….
Just discovered this lovely place to get baguettes. Well let me tell you, the baguettes are awesome (like the ones we have had in France). They handmade everything. Lovely croissants. The lemon almond cake was like what wed fine in Europe - not too sweet. I highly recommend this business first baguettes and croissants. I look forward to trying more of their goodies!
Great place to stop in and grab a simple sandwich or just some high quality baguettes. They also have some great dinner options for sale so keep an eye out whenever you come in (the duck confit is one I always go for). Much more than just a sweets shop.
This is the real deal. A lovely boulangerie with fresh baguettes and several types of gorgeous breads, plus a patisserie. Grab a pat of butter or bit of jam (free!) and imagine you are in Paris.
This an excellent bakery-cafe in every respect. The products are delicious, well-executed, and obviously made with love. The display case is beautiful and organized. The seating area is warm and comfortable. The open-concept production area is immaculate. And the service is friendly. Please everyone support this wonderful taste of France!
Whenever I am in the area I make sure to stop at this marvelous French bakery. The croissants are crunchy and tender with multiple layers and will be familiar to anyone who has eaten them in France. The pain au raisin, brioche and bread are truly authentic. European style butter and Unbleached and unbromated flours are used. I complimented the proprietress and she immediately brought her rather shy bakers to the front counter and asked me to give the compliments to them as they are the bakers. The bakery restaurant is family friendly (child’s nook with books and such) spacious and comfortable with outdoor seating. I highly recommend this bakery and the hard working people who work here when in West Chester area.
This place has the best quiche Ive ever tasted, delicious coffee drinks, and Ive enjoyed every single item that Ive tried so far .Its very clear that they use great ingredients and, the quality and preparation is excellent. You can see the pride they take in their creations. The ladies working behind the counter are very kind and accommodating.I have and will continue to recommend this place.
Delicious, Fresh, and the first Good espresso Ive had!
We came here after with a friends suggestion. We were excited to try because we loved our neighborhood French bakery in Queens, New York and we didnt find a good French bakery near us. The place is 30 minutes away from us but it is easy to find. A few people were already enjoying their morning at the couple tables outside of the restaurant when we arrived. We went in, there are many tables to sit at, its open, bright and comfortable. There is an array of savory and sweet bakery items. And they offer savory and sweet crepes on the menu as well. We want to start with the basics so we got the almond chocolate croissant, brioche, latte and mocha coffee. The almond chocolate croissant was delightful. It is a chocolate croissant baked with almond paste in the middle and almond slices on the top. It was delicious but a bit on the sweeter side for me. My mocha was really good but also a bit sweeter for my taste. However, it warmed me up after a sip on the windy Saturday morning! The brioche is good but the sugar crystals made the brioche a bit too sweet as well. The latte was delicious! After our breakfast, we bought many more items to try at home: 1/2 baguette, 1/2 special baguette, madeleine, pain de mie, orange chocolate brioche, plain croissant and chocolate croissant. The baguettes are crusty outside and soft and chewy in the center. It becomes tastier the more I chew on it. The croissants are great though I prefer a bit more flakier type of dough. The madeleine was in a heart shape. Its one of my favorite treat and the heart shape made it special. The white bread is a simple pleasure warmed up with just some butter. I still have the orange chocolate brioche to try and I think I will enjoy it as well. Overall, I really liked everything we tried and wouldnt mind to stop in again for our French bakery fix if we are in the area. There is no private parking but there were plenty of street parking nearby.
Great pastries, friendly service, and we loved hearing the womans French accent. 🙂
Best pastries youll find in town, nothing else gets even close! Breads are truly made from scratch and very well executed! Merci :)
Great place lots of tasty treats and fresh staples (breads) Shopped here for the first time over the weekend - I will definitely will be returning.
Great place. Tasty food.
The best pastries and excellent coffee.
An absolute gem. If you havent been yet, too bad for you. Everything here tastes just as incredible as it looks right down to the texture. Quality here is on par with the best European cafes except for the faster service youll see here. Consistently nailing it week after week. Ive eaten about half of what they offer here (and I cant remember the names/pronounce everything correctly) including sweet and savory choices and a bag of buns you can take home that are packed with flavor and will make you look like a hero in the kitchen. They also offer a few take out items from superstar restaurant Andario nearby - Im excited to see where that alliance goes.
Wonderful bakery, friendly staff, baked goods where delicious and highly recommended the madeleines!
This is the best bakery in West Chester, traditional style breads that are baked that day and the whole store is packed with amazing smells even through a mask!
Best bakery in West Chester. Love that I can use my french there each time I go. 😊
Adorable space with authentic, delicious and reasonably priced French baked goods
Great chocolate almond croissant
Delicious coffee and baked items! We tried the croissants and eclair.
Absolutely delicious! Summer corn quiche, blackberry tart, and the little bebe cream puffs, omg everything was fabulous, delicate crusts, and delicious flavor. The lady taking my order has a beautiful accent too.
Very friendly staff, well decorated café. The pastries are very well made, and the owner is knowledgeable in suggesting an item for first-timers to French desserts! Highly recommend
I had a lovely croissant here this morning. The baguette was my favorite!
Cant get enough of this spot!
I started a new job and I have to travel to someones home and La Baguette Magique is right next door so I decide to give it a try.I first tried the sweet pastries which are absolutely amazing I was hesitant to try anything else but I finally did and I was literally blown away cause the item was a sunnyside up egg on a pastry with bacon(sorry I forget the name)I never would have guessed that would be a weekend breakfast for me. If you havent gone and tried this place give it a shot!!!
Very authentic french bakery, tastes exactly like Paris!
This place is amazing! The staff is ALWAYS so nice and helpful and the desserts are absolutely delicious! Thank you for being such a pleasant and happy part of my mornings!
I love Baguette Magique! The food is yummy and authentic. There are breads, pastries, breakfast items, soups and sandwiches. There are also coffees, teas, etc. The price is worth it for such high quality and delicious home made food.
French baguette and lemon tart were delicious.
I love this place so much. The coffee is tremendous and I am quite picky when it comes to coffee. I have held so many business meetings here and not once has my guest been unhappy. They all tell me that they are coming back. I love the vegetarian options!
Delicious baked goods and breakfast items. The coffee however was a little bitter, possibly over brewed. The ambiance is reminiscent of a new European bakery and very clean. Not a great value for the price, is my only con.
I really enjoyed this little bakery. They have everything displayed beautifully when you come in and it all looks so delicious. I had a baguette and a hot chocolate and was very pleased. On a separate occasion I had a chocolate croissant which I highly recommend. Its a quaint little place to grab a quality pastry and a cup of coffee.
A must come. Lots of choices to drool over making it a hard choice. One of everything please. The crusts are flaky and simply delicious. The service was great and friendly. I do wish they had more coffee selection and better quality to compliment the amazing food they serve. So I would skip the hot beverage and just dive into the pastries both savory and sweet!
This place is worth a visit. They serve big portions for convenient rates. Constantly clean and with awesome mood. Will come visit again.
Best bread in town!
Call ahead to confirm availability of your favorite items.
Best bakery in PA and DE. The owner is so great, nice and very talented. The pastries are delicious. They are also very active with the community! I love this place, too bad its 40min away from my house. We need more good bakery like that!
A hidden treasure in downtown West Chester. Great assortment of pastries perfectly flavored with flakey crust. The ham and cheese sandwich was uninspiring but we liked everything else.
Very cute for the burbs. The first time I visited I was pretty disappointed with my pastry, but I went again a couple of months ago, and it was much better this time! They seemed short-staffed because the line took forever.
OMG. Baking magic. Seriously, some of the best Ive ever had and Im picky. And great euro euro style French coffee.
The food was really good. Blunt too much to choose from but nice for a change
Some great french bakery fare. Quaint breakfast/brunch/lunch spot. Simple but friendly service.
This is an amazing hidden gem in West Chester, their bread, pastries, sandwiches and croissants are incredible!!!! I wish I lived closer, I would visit every single day! The owner Catherine is incredibly humble and welcoming, she runs a tight ship and the quality shines through every time I visit!
The food was great, as was the customer service. A great place to meet a friend for coffee & a pastry. The only downside is that the crepes were really expensive.
I absolutely love this place! I spent four months living in Paris and La Baguette Magique is the the best place I have found in the U.S. comparable to the Parisian bakeries. However I am constantly disappointed at their closing before their posted hours. Several times I have arrived at 5:00pm, 30 minutes before close, and they have locked the doors. All I wanted was to grab a few pastries and bread, which from what I could see looking in they still had some left, but I wasnt able to. Theres nothing more frustrating than making the trip only to find them closed early. Its really quite discouraging, especially when you really look forward to their delicious pastries and bread! Please stay open until your hours say you are closed la Baguette Magique... That or change your hours so as to not disappoint.
La Baguette Magique is simply tremendous! Everything they bake is excellent. The baguettes, the croissants, the sweets are all extremely good. Its hard to imagine a bakery that can do it all, but La Baguette can! I highly recommend it!
The pastries are wonderful and the staff is exceptionally nice. I have always come back for the delicious coffee, however, I regret that I will have to go elsewhere because the pump thermos they put the coffee in, do not keep it hot. It is always luke warm at best and EXTREMELY hard to pump. If they had a stainless steel urn with a faucet that would be so much better!
Positively delicious! Everything is prepared to be distinctively flavorful. This is an amazing bakery.
The best French pastries can be found here. Everything is amazing.
I am so in love with this place that I thank the owner every visit for bringing this place to West Chester. Everything is delicious. Try the french toast. Better yet, come hungry and leave with a happy full tummy!!!
If you want carbs of any kind, just get yourself here. Recently branched out and tried the lemon mousse and the chocolate tarte and they were divine!
Since France is closed to Americans right now this is the next best thing.
Great place for a transport to France and a quiche and coffee or French pastry while youre there. Very glad to have found this quiet quaint spot.
Fantastic food. Get there early if you want a baguette. They are so buttery and smooth. The place is fairly small so it can get a little loud, but it is great.
One of my favorite treasures in West Chester. Reliably delicious and plenty of options to choose from!
The most authentic French bakery in the US. Its more than just croissants and great coffee, its a transformative experience that will make you feel like youre visiting a patisserie in France.
Wonderful French cafe. Always a wonderful selection of tarts and baked goods perfectly sized for a breakfast or snack with your coffee.
Great coffee and espresso. Wide assortment of sweet and savory pastries. Worth a visit.
The food was amazing
Visited on a Sunday morning. It was a little busy, but the atmosphere was great and the french pastries were delicious! Id recommend the Creme Brulee with a espresso!
This place is a gem. We absolutely love their croissants, pastries and bread. Catherine is a true artist, you must stop in and taste for yourself, she never disappoints!
We are so lucky to have this wonderful French bakery with so many delectable choices. Its easy to get carried away and buy for several days ahead! The café is charming and modern with seating outside in the summer. Specially prepared tea and coffee are available to enjoy with your tarte or baguette sandwich.
My favorite place to be in West Chester! Delicious bread and delicious croissants. The almond croissant is amazing. Lovely calm and light atmosphere. Thank you!
Fast and friendly service but of course, you dont want to be in a rush. You want to savor your breakfast treats!I bought the namesake bread (baguette) for dinner
Pretty good. Nice place to work and get coffee and sweets.
It was like being back in Paris. REAL pastry, delicious coffee, great and quick service, and authentic French delights. A++
I ordered a chocolate croissant and a latte and both were perfect, would highly recommend this place.
Their croissants are amazing! I cant wait to start going here more often!
Their croissant is really good. Highly recommend it.
Lovely little place for some coffee and dessert. Their tarts are delicious!
Our secret weapon for the hamburgers that we sell at our restaurant in philadelphia is the bread. Catherines custom rolls from La Baguette Magique are due tons of credit, and I am so happy that I partnered with them. Also, any time my family has stopped in for a random lunch it has been fantastic. Its a great spot for pastries, desserts, etc. Highly recommended! -Craig Mosmen
Lovely patisserie, everything is delicious, the owner is very nice. The place is cosy and warm. There is a sitting area for children with small chairs and books.
Wow! Great food, cozy atmosphere. Best quiche Ive ever eaten!
Simply THE BEST french bakery in the area. Ev
Cute, authentic French bakery. Great coffee and pastries.
Everything Ive ever had here has been amazing. Ive been to France twice, and this is as close as gets in the area. I keep a bag of quarters in my car just in case Im in WC! Tres magnifique!
Good sweets👍🏼
Far and away the best baguette Ive ever eaten. My wife and kids absolutely love the croissants and pastries.
Dang this place is fantastic the pastries make you feel like your in Paris and the coffee is strong and robust
Great spot to grab a delicious morning pastry and one of their wonderful ready made sandwiches for later!
THE BEST EVER FRENCH PASTRIES. TRULY AS IF YOU WERE IN FRANCE.A TRUE ADDICTION.
Wonderful establishment, clean, spacious, and really tasty food that is light and natural. You leave feeling satisfied without the heaviness of a full meal.
Croque monsiuer mmmmmm! Nice cozy place for an elegant bite
One of my favorite brunch places in West Chester if youre looking for a smaller breakfast.
