The store has gotten progressively worse over the years, but they are the only game in town. The slightest competition would probably put them out of business. They are so frequently out of stock on the same items, yet it never seems to improve. It’s rare for me to complete my shopping in this store alone. I frequently need to travel across town to Acme, which I also hate, just to pick up the 1-5 items that are habitually sold out at Giant. I’ve tried shopping at different times of day, and different days of the week. It never seems to matter. It’s not uncommon to see the dairy aisle 30% to 50% out of stock with empty shelf facings. Produce, grocery… it’s all the same story. I’ve taken multiple surveys, and I’ve written to Giant headquarters several times. They don’t respond. I don’t blame the individual employees in the store. They are generally friendly, but mostly very unhelpful. I don’t think it’s their fault. It’s just their training. When you ask them a question they are likely to respond with “I don’t know” or point in a general direction, but that’s the end of the conversation. If Trader Joe’s opened a store in West Chester, I’d never shop here again.

Instacarter here: This has been the worst Giant I have been to. I was looking for cooking wine/sherry for a customer (I would just use regular wine but whatever) and did not know where it was. I asked one girl who used here headpiece to ask. She said it might be in the wine section, good place to look. The older gentleman in the wine section tried having a conversation with me about how it is not in the wine section and I should go ask customer service but to browse the wines to see what to cook with. I politely showed him the instacart lanyard and went back to the regular grocery section/customer service. I thanked him for his time and would have loved to pick his brain on what wines pair with what foods, he offered and was very polite. This is where I give the 1 star review. I went to customer service and there was no one there (I know its a pandemic and places are short staffed, it was not the problem). Someone walked up and was putting away items, Im guessing, people chose not to buy at the register. I knew he was busy but politely asked if I could just ask him a question. This guy (scruffy dirty blonde hair, glasses and pimples) looks at me like I was asking for a manager (I assure you I was polite and only asked where the cooking wine was as I had been running around the store for an hour). He just sighs and says what, I ask if he could tell me which aisle it was in. He just barked back we probably dont have it and walked away. Rude, just rude. Ive worked customer service before, I get it but the first 2 people at least tried. I am sorry to give this a 1 star review but the effort was not there and honestly there were plenty of employees just wondering the store. On the way out I was looking where to put my cart and a younger kid just grabs it out of my hands. I said thanks but like come on, we all gotta put some effort into the day. Have some respect.

First time shopping here. bought a few items including a mango which looked juicy, delicious and ripe. When I sliced it, the inside was black with holes. The young lady at self check out was very nice.

I called all around town to try to get a carrot cake for my friend for their birthday without raisins b/c he does not like them and of course you are going to get your friend the cake they like the best for their special day! I called other bakeries in the area and all the same answer sorry they are pre-made and we cannot accommodate you click.. I even had one store laugh at my request? (how rude LOL) I called the Giant assuming I would get the same answer, but to my pleasant surprise, I spoke with a wonderful man, I believe he was the Bakery manager and explained to him what I needed and that I needed it in 2 days, and his reply was sure I can make that for you! To our delight here at CCH, the cake was perfect! I was so happy someone decided to take the time to do something nice for someone else instead of just rushing me off the phone. I always loved my Giant store, but now I really love it!! I am surprised by any bad reviews, they are amazing here!

Poor in-stock position at all times. Deli is the worst. Use the “time saving” kiosk to “skip the line” at your own peril.

I saw a lot of different folks rushing through the store but when you slow down you can see the quality of the people who work there and the enthusiasm they have when working. They are doin a great job.

The store is convenient for me and has everything I need. I like that I can look online and see how busy they are.

Our go-to supermarket.It really has improved over the past 2-3 years. Now we can do all of our errands in one place.2 noteworthy mentions:The staff of the Starbucks does a great job. They’re often very busy but always friendly and do good quality work.I wouldn’t recommend you go to giant for their deli though. Or at least don’t use the kiosks. Even if there aren’t customers currently ordering at the counter, the guys working there still don’t pay any attention to the kiosk orders.... until you come back 15 minutes later to remind them that you placed an order and they’re like “oh yea sorry we didn’t check it.”

Eh.I went in for a chicken. A plain old chicken. I was there so long waiting for the chickens to be put out that after an hour, I decided to go with sausage and peppers.The lady at check out was very pleasant. I dont know her name and its not on my receipt but she was lovely.OH! I used the restroom. Three stalls and two were filled with paper. I arrived at the store 20 minutes after it opened. Seems like the night shift skipped the ladies room.

LOVE the self checkout with belt lanes. Havent seen this at any of the other locations. Store is clean and well stocked.

Im a frequent Wegmans shopper merely because of proximity, but 2x over the past week Ive stopped into Giant on my way to or from work and I couldnt be more impressed with the level of service your employees provide. Yesterday evening Dayanna was working the register and she could not have been friendlier or more positive. Whether she knows it or not, her level of customer service is incredible. Im highly impressed and will be shopping at this store MUCH more often.

This store is absolutely horrendous. I have noticed on multiple occasions safety and food violations that could have easily closed this store down. They are not properly removing food from the store and placing it in the trash they have been caught numerous times by private companies who have attempted to assist in the store cleanup.

They finally had proper wipes for cart handles 👍Plenty of ppl straightening shelves, but ladies bathrm needed attn. One stall locked, one stall with t.p. holder off wall on floor, trash on floor.

I only shop at Giant and honestly refuse to go into other grocery stores because of the quality of produce/meat and the customer service rep interactions which have been so awesome all these years.What I don’t like, particularly at the boot rd location, is how management treats employees. The other day I witnessed a younger female manager BERATE, a young boy at the register, in front of myself and other customers. I was embarrassed for him, and for her behavior. Unfortunately, this is not the first time I’ve seen this behavior at this location. As a manager in business myself, there is a time, place and manner in which you address employees.... and in front of customers is not it. Particularly, young kids who are obviously going to make mistakes and are just doing their best— with smiles on their faces —which is just about the most I expect. It’s almost odd that every employee here is so kind, so friendly and helpful, and the only negative experiences I’ve witnessed or personally experienced have been from management.I hope all the managers at this location will learn to lead and respect their employees as a little kindness goes a long way when leading your team. The behavior from management I’ve seen over the last year at times is appalling and I hope I don’t have to witness anyone speaking to another person like that at this location again.

I couldnt be more thankful to Rob in the bakery. I believe he is the bakery manager. He went above and beyond to make the perfect cake for me sons 4th birthday. Of course I waited till day of to try and get a cake. He somehow found a Spiderman decoration and told me he would bake the cake and have it done and ready in 2 hours. I know it sounds like nothing, but with everything going on and my son not being able to have friends over bc of covid, small things like this is what he will remember. Sorry if this is doesnt make much sense,, Im still in the process of trying to make my sons party perfect. Thank you Rob I appreciate everything you have done.

Love this giant. Giant in general can be a little confusing to find things the way the aisles are labeled, but its a very nice and very clean store.

DO NOT SHOP HERE. SICK employees who are coughing and look like death work here as of 11/21/2020 and the management has STOPPED temperature checking its employees who handle your groceries and pack your raw food! They also STOPPED sanitizing properly.Just so you know, even fast food places like CHIPOTLE temp check their employees daily, for customer safety. Just shameful.

The store is no longer environmentally friendly or Covid safe

Giant now sells beer and wine. Very nice selection too!! The rest of the store is so nice since they remodeled with a great selection of organic fruits and vegetables. They have also added live lobsters to the seafood mix. Two full isles of organic food both packaged and refrigerated. All in all, its a great store to shop in. They also have a Starbucks store inside at the front when you first walk in so you can grab a cup of coffee and a bite to eat while youre shopping. Plenty of handicap parking spots and electric carts for those that otherwise wouldnt be able to walk the entire store to shop. And right next door is a premium state liquor store. They also have a propane exchange station at the secondary entrance. Lastly, you can go online and order your food and they will deliver it right to your door. They pretty much have all the bases covered. You wont be disappointed shopping at this Giant.

I have been coming to this store for sometime now . Ive moved here about 12 years ago and I witnessed an usual interaction while standing in line yesterday . I was in the check out line and all of sudden I started to hear and employee from the front counter yelling to a customer “not at my job “ or words very similar which I thought was awkward . I then hear that there was an emergency and the employee left her drawer unattended and I’ve worked in the business where that is not allowed . Ive seen some words exchanged between the customer and employee then the manager came up to talk to the customer that was very upset. I really think that the employees should be able to work professional and handle things like this instead doing what I seen this employee do .

Love this Giant! Scan and Go and always well stocked. Had an exceptionally great experience having balloons filled for a party this weekend- Deb in floral was so kind and went above and beyond when they ran out of the color ribbon I had picked. I shop here weekly and am always pleased but this was such a positive experience I had to leave feedback. Thanks, Giant!

Pricing team needs to pay attention to where they place sale signs. Misleading placement just causes upset customers at register. Starting to think I should shop at wegmans or acme. Never received my free holiday ham from Easter 2018 that they ran out of and refused to honor coupon the gave out to shoppers who met the requirements. Giant start taking care of your loyal customers.

Local grocery chain with prices under Targets but above Walmarts.

The store itself is fine but you should really stock the shelves at night. Workers carts are constantly in the way and don’t even get me started with Marty the annoying robot, that thing was a mistake.

Update: This store leaves up expired sales signs constantly. Management has done nothing to change this fraudulent practice.Standard grocery store with a decent selection. Customer service is inconsistent. They should audit their sale shelf tags and digital offers. It is surprising when an item rings up at the expected advertised price.

I got money out at self checkout and accidentally forgot it came back and my money was gone, no one was wiping down in between uses and saw it, very upset. Said there was nothing they could do. Didnt even bother to look at cameras.

I have been a loyal customer at this store for years never had a complaint everyone is so nice and helpful. I have to say yesterday was the worse experience I’ve had ever and it’s very disappointing . I went to customer services where there was lady eating at the counter which I think at a time like this that is very unsanitary . I had to wait for several seconds to even get acknowledged . The woman assisting me was heavier built with big hair .I was so flustered I didn’t get a chance to get her full name but I believe it began with a “T”. I was not greeted properly and the transaction was horrible no “customer service” attitude . Please educate or get rid of .

Love the West Chester Giant! Everything is neat and fresh and well stocked in order. The display of the organics isle is great and the produce section is so fresh and pleasing. The addition of a Starbucks and liquor section and coming Peapod is awesome too. Also the Deer Park bottle return is always working :) Wish I lived in WC l would shop here all the time!

Great place for just about any kind of food. Fresh produce, meat, seafood. Great prepared food, wide variety of all products.The store itself is clean, the aisles constantly refilled, polite and friendly staff.With the addition of beer and wine they have created a one stop shopping experience. You can even do your banking there or take out up to $200.00 out of your checking account when checking out your order.

Listen I know it’s late on a Sunday night and you probably don’t have a lot of people who want to work right now, but is it really impossible to open more than TWO /SELF CHECKOUT/ lanes at a time!? Really?? I can see 10 others! That’s the whole point of self checkout!Pretty good deals though, worth an extra star despite the 20 minute wait.

Grocery store with lots of groceries

Check your expiration dates before buying anything! Giant is East Bradford is selling EXPIRED food. I bought Pup-Peroni treats for my dogs 2 weeks ago which were expired a year ago! April 5, 2019 They were causing my dogs to throw up which is when my daughter checked the expiration date because they had never thrown up from them before. Reporting it to FDA and Giant corporate. Highly recommend Wegmans who doesn’t sell expired food! And much better customer service than Giant.

A huge store with lot of options

Decent produce. Well lit and clean. Wide aisles. Plenty of parking. The store nearest me is open 18 hours a day. But everything else is mediocre and most of their packaged name brand items (cookies and cheese for example) are surprisingly expensive. Customer service is poor. I rarely shop here any more even though its less than 1/2 mile from my house.

Went to giant today in Bradford plaza. I think they are done remodeling. Very nice now. Much better organized. And they have a Starbucks right in front so you can grab a cup and a snack to enjoy while shopping!!! Very nice.

This is my go-to Giant. I’m ride or die for this location but I can’t lie - they have some work to do. The new beer and wine section? Stellar. There’s one guy who works there who is a bright light on my casual trips to the beer. The deli? Not sure they’re trying. I have issues there often. I’m happy they get to chat and have a good time back there but it’s constantly a waste of my time. Might just have to try Acme. Ugh.

My husband and I shopped at your store on Sunday. (yesterday) Everyone was wearing a mask or face covering except for one man! I thought it was mandatory? After all, theres a huge sign at the entrance that you must wear a mask. Why was he permitted to come into the store? We are very disappointed in your management!

Shameful. Very poor produce, particularly fruit. Every item, with the exception of grapes, cherries and citrus was inedible and had to be thrown out. In the fall I bought what was supposed to be MacIntosh apples- complete garbage. Threw the entire bag out. Same with berries. Inedible. I now drive to Whole Foods to get my fruits and vegetables.

Great customer service. I was surprised that all the associates that I encountered during our shopping trip were courteous and helpful, from the seafood, to meat and produce departments, even on a crazy Saturday afternoon.

I have a hard time finding what I want as they are often out of stock. Their Deli Department is still the worst! They had 5 people behind the counter..4 were working on orders from the kiosk. One on those waiting at the counter....when they werent chatting up their friends...walked away...

A typically well-run Giant that now has a beer-wine section. I also like their selection of bulk nuts which the Dilworthtown Giant doesnt have.

I ordered several items for my husbands 70th birthday party. Everything was absolutely delicious from the chicken, the wings, the wraps, the potato salad (which was just like the best homemade), pasta salad to the cake. Everything was ready when I went to pick it up. The price was so reasonable. I would order from Giant anytime I have a party. Thank you Giant.

Giant was my go to grocery store for years, however, I find myself going to Wegmans a lot more because many items I regularly buy cost less. I purchase more fresh food items at Wegmans over Giant because of freshness and cost. Giant’s meats, breads, lunch meat, cheeses, rotisserie chickens, just to name a few items, are not as good and cost more. The gas point program kept me doing my major shopping at Giant but the double and triple point programs are basically nonexistent anymore and the digital coupons are a joke. I only clipped 16 out of 187 tonight.

Lots of parking and a lot of room to shop and be keep practicing social distancing.

The Giant Direct service at this location is absolutely terrible. I’ve had an issue 2 weeks in a row and, not that it was anybody’s fault in particular but, the customer service around the issues were less than satisfactory to say the least. Last week, I arrived at the store at 1 PM to pick up my order. I was informed they did not have an order for me. Come to find out, my order was mysteriously sent to the Thorndale location, which I have never visited for Giant Direct. The store refused to expedite my order to be picked up at 5 PM because they told me their systems did not release orders until three hours prior to the pick up time. Although they did resolve my issue, the manager who manually shopped my order missed items and I was overcharged for items I did not purchase. Today, I placed my order before 11 AM for a pick up at 5 PM. Upon arrival, I was told that the store lost power and someone was still shopping my order. Unless they lost power at 2 PM, I don’t understand how someone was still shopping my order. Additionally, I’ve placed Giant Direct orders at this location when they have lost power and, they do not sell perishables. However, my order was complete with perishable items. Again, this is not anyone’s fault but, the customer service/attitude I received from Dana was unacceptable. If this was not the only Giant on my way to and from work, I would go to a different store.

Giant is the best in grocery shopping in the area. Remember 2 save ur rewards 4 better gas too!

New self checkout machines either the thing is slow to respond or unresponsive or too sensitive. Also each machine detect the motion of customers walking by so each machine asks you to swipe your bonus card as your leaving the store with the groceries you already paid for.Its awesome that you can finally purchase beer and wine in this store. But the wine is less pricey next door at the wine and spirits shop.

Frankly, we thought Giant would suffer at the advent of Costco and Wegmans in the neighborhood. Giant seems to have stepped up their game. We now use all three stores and we prefer Giants produce.

My experience at Giant is always a great one, the help is very nice theyre always helpful. Tonight I was looking for something and a Gentleman actually walked me over to the aisle and showed me where it was. I will not shop anywhere else I think its a great value.
