So Im getting tired here at pep boys. I just came here to get my lift updated on my inspection which everything was fine but they found some stuff wrong so Im getting brand new tires this was at 9:15 in the morning it is now 10:45 in the morning theyve had my car up on the lifter they have only taken one tire off they have not put any tires on any of the rims yet cuz all three of the tires are still on my car.
Good prices on clearance items. Just make sure you really look into the coupons before trying to use it, and make sure you look at the dates on your Khols cash so they are not expired or excluding the one thing you needed and went to the store to get. 😊
Terrible service, today I took my car for brake service. The person who attended me told me that it would take 4 hours to which I answered this well, I just want to know when the total will be, I spend 1 hour and my car has not been checked yet. I asked him and he told me that it would take another hour to review it and then another 4 hours. If you had told me this from the beginning I would not have wasted my time. lousy employee attitude. I have been going there for years for the tires of my cars, it is not cheap at all, I was still going but the experience I had today I will not return

I have had a good experience with pep boys at El Monte. But I had really bad experience with this pep boy locate at West Covina. I had my brake pad front and rear replacement. The rear brake pad they charge me $79.99. And they selling them $55.63 in the same store! And they explained that as an “special” ! Who is willing to your “special” more than your original price ?Be Aware!!! Do the research before you come in this store !!!!
Went in for an alignment but not really sure if they did anything.
They going out of business and I had a warranty on a battery I bought or purchased from them and couldnt get it replaced cuz they didnt have the right size. 😐

I still come to this pepboys for service even after moving away from the city. Service is quick and I have not had any issues with the service provided here so far.
Made an appointment at 2:30 to have just an oil change, nothing else. the site says it will take around 90 minutes, once I drop off the car the told me that 1 hour, after one hour I came back and was told that they havent touched my car, that mine will be next, after 2 hours (4:30) they havent checked my car yet, still parked where I left it, that is the next to have the service (again). I mean really? You have an appointment system so you can provide a service to your clients with a better schedule. I got my car after 3 HOURS! JUST FOR AN OIL CHANGE!! All my afternoon wasted waiting there! I told them, at least let me know that you have lot of work and I came later, but they say only sorry we were busy so to me looks like they dont care about customer service.

On 11/13/20 took my car to get front tires fixed first and alignment too but the personel decided to put the new tires as rear tires instead of what I had requested. When I asked why they had not followed my request, they said its California law to put the new tires in the back and not front bc of security reasons. Everyone knows front new tires go in THE FRONT. I said I would be back to finish the work and get all 4 tires, but now I will never come back. The employee Jorge never explained that to me, Im extremely disappointed as I had heard good feedback from customers before. Please stop lying to customers and do as requested, clients have the right to their request being fulfilled and also the right to know full explanation of work to be done BEFORE PAYING FOR IT.
Bought new windshield wipers and had air checked in my tires very friendly and polite service. Told me he would take care of every thing. He drove my car to a bay and did everything.
Went for oil change and tune up ( plugs and wires). Was told the cost for this would be $742.89 ...because the plugs are hard to reach...$560 for labor. Decided to just get the oil change and was charged $89.54 and no fluids were topped off the tires were not rotated ad it only took 2 hours.

Staff is helpful. Found what I needed quickly. Only gripe about this location... The closest entry/exit points of the parking lot are not lowered car friendly.
They close too early. They need to start considering being open later, till 10pm if possible.
Do your own research! The stuff expect you to be expert since they are so busy to answer your questions! Like Pokémon, finally found a stuff, impatiently answered your question, and the answer was actually wrong.
Worst service ever. They charge you for things you didnt agree to and signed for. They will change parts and do recommended services they think is right for your car before verifying with you. There check out system goes out frequently so they will double charge your account then you have to deal with your bank. Best advise is to go somewhere else. They have no customer service and dont care.

Very bad customer service, I had appointment at 5 PM, I reached at the store, they just kept talking to each other in spanish and laughing, asked me to wait to check in, I kept waiting for 5 minutes and eventually had to leave since seemed like they didnt care .
Ive come here several times for oil changes and other light maintenance. Prices are always fair and I usually dont have to wait too long, especially if I make an appointment. Overall my experience has been good.

This place has good prices for getting work done on your car. They will tell you everything that is going on with your vehicle. They will give you a detailed list of how much everything costs before they start working on your car. I took my car here to get lots of work done and my car has been running smoothly. I brought my car yesterday to get the oil changed because I am going on a trip. They checked the Tires, Fluids, Brakes, and Changed the Oil at my request. There were no If, ands, or buts about it. They did the work. And When they took longer than expected they got me a lyft back home so i didnt have to wait in the sun. They also got me a lyft back to the pepboys to pick up my car. Overall. This is the place to bring your car. Any questions you have they will be more than happy to answer and assist with whatever it is you need and want to know. Thank you for your hard work guys!!

I came to leave this message immediately after getting some great help from the service manager and technician. I came in to check a light vibration I was getting on my steering wheel when I drove on highway. I suspected the tire balancing I did about a week ago at another pep boys store. The service manager offers a free inspect and the technician was polite and patient to listen to my ideas. This turned out the previous balancing was not correctly done. The service manager offered free re-work. Everything was professionally done and I went on to the freeway right after the service is done and no more vibration. I dont really leave reviews, but I think it is something worth sharing.Great management, good quality of work!

Let me start off by saying I normally use Firestone. At first sight service was lacking, which should have been a sign of what was to follow. I let it go, I understand it was a busy Saturday and they were short staffed, but all the time I stayed stand not one person said they would be right with me until they actually came to help me. I needed my tires replaced and did just that, price was ok, so I elected to also have my alignment and oil change done. Ok so everything went good I drove home and my car felt fine until I decided to read the tire size, I noticed one out of the four tires was smaller than normal, which it was so I took it back 2 days later which I wasnt even upset about until today, I noticed they didnt even double check the alignment after this which is bugging me and to top it all of they never checked the liquids as promised with the oil Change. Awful for a first time customer. I never really complain but this is just awful service.

Well, we can not always buy new cars when there is a car problem, since new cars will become old cars and devalue fast. Therefore, we have to learn how to find a good, neighborhood car repair shops that you can trust!I have tried other car repair shops that I knew a good mechanic but the boss was very greedy, or another auto shop that both of them were dishonest and greedy.Finally, I chose to stay with Pepboy. They maybe a little bit more expensive than other tricky places, but at least that you can always come back to talk to them if you have a problem later on.
So simple and you can save so much. Just get in get help and pay. DIY installation for the basic things. So why should you pay for something you can DIY?>

I was informed that their mechanics do not work on damaged vehicles per company policy. So if a mechanic doesnt work on damaged vehicles or equipment how exactly are they a mechanic? I have no problem with you telling me my vehicle needs a repair, or that it needs a major over haul... but saying you do not work on DAMAGED vehicles. They couldnt even, again because of policy, figure out what was damaged. They basically told me It sounds bad. And that was it. I asked what the damage was and they said We dont know, but the sound could be.... and basically named a load of random parts. Company policy will not allow them even to figure out what the problem is. Seems pretty worthless to me, unless you just want a set of tires. I mean they can change tires. (Not impressed since I can change tires and oil and only pay to have that done since I have a low car and no lift)I took my car here foolishly thinking there were mechanics working here. I went for an oil change, which an hour and a half later they refused to preform based on the sound of the car starting. Turns out my engine has damage of some kind, not great news but I expected that kind of thing would be followed by something along the lines of We suggest doing (insert test) diagnostic to find the problem. Or The damage is a broken (insert part name) and we recommend you replace this. It will cost this much if you have it done here, or if you want to take it some where else you can come pick up your vehicle.I will never take a vehicle here again. I have had these guys install a sterio, change tires, change oil, check my coolant system... but suddenly they cant even try to find a problem just flat refuse to work on the vehicle. Never again.

My experience with Pepboys was disappointing.I had made an order and appointment with Pepboys for September 5th at 8:30am for a four tire change. After sitting in the waiting room for an hour and a half, I was informed that they only had two tires and had ordered the other two. After waiting another hour or so, I saw them move my car into the parking lot. After waiting twenty minutes, I went looking for the guy at the front desk to pay and get my keys back. I didnt leave untill 11:15am. Whats the point or ordering online if you dont have everything in stock? Why wait so long to inform me that my order was not complete?

Rental Vehicle driver, sent here for service. 2 tires changed tpms light came on two blocks away. Informed company waited 2 weeks to reschedule. Returned for them to fix did not fix. Noisy breaks . Returned to pepboys for noise, service writer said rental truck was good 80% brake life all around. Left facility first red light heard grinding noise from brakes. Took business to Firestone, tpms light repaired 1st try. Brakes inspected. Left front metal to metal right side . 10%. Think twice before coming here. 5 star reviews are probably friends and family getting work done at cost or free. Just my opinion.

Made an appointment online at 12 for an oil change got there on time and they didnt even see my car until an hr in a half later then i still had to wait another hr for them to change it..pathetic making appointments if you still have to wait almost 3 hrs

I left my car for an smog check, after 2 hours wasting my time under the summer heat, I get back to pick up and the surprise wasnt fun... They didnt even have the resources to do it, the computer was failing supposedly and I should take back my car without the smog, and my skin red and painful.

Very slow customer service,not too cooperative,talking to another employee and trying to take your order. I brought my car at 1:44 pm for oil change,order the 39.99 service and received the 29.99 instead (different quality of oil) I mention 3 times the need of new struts,since my car have replaced over 3 years ago. None,none.they dont write in the order. Every 2 hours I have to ask.is my car done and received a big NOT YET. Finally at 7:20 PM a have my car back. Surprise...my Winchell glass was broken. I complain and now I must call tomorrow and explain to the store manager. My heart can resist more after 6 hours and 24 minutes of waiting times for an oil change.
Me and my husband just went in to your store a couple of minutes ago and we were not entertained very well..there were no workers to assist us on what we’re suppose to buy.i even went to an agent who was talking to another customer and asked politely and i even said excuse me.but the agent didn’t even looked at me.and the old lady she was with got mad at me said to go to another worker because she was working with him..which i completely understand.but common sense,will i be asking that agent if another worker was available for a simple question.and that agent didn’t even bother to look for a remedy..the cashier even was not there..and when we finally saw what we need,we went to the cashier only to wait again for the cashier..she was not there for too long..we ended up leaving the store. I know every one’s busy but the management should do something about this..workers are not very accomodating and do not know how to smile.if there was another pepboys shop near me,i will go there the next time. You guys don’t even deserve one star for a review. I didn’t get to know the names but if i see u again,im sure ill remember you..so much for ruining my morning...😠

Well I have had more than one terrible experience here. Silly me thinking hey if I show them that I am a loyal customer they will treat me well. WRONG!!!!!I will spare you the first few bad visits and here is how the last one went.I must start on the oil change before my last which was 2,500 miles prior to my last visit. I asked for a tire rotation they did not do it. I asked for them to check my brakes because at the time my brakes had been going on 12,000 miles and they did not check them.So I bring my truck in a few weeks ago and when it came time to give me a quote this incredibly FAT and rude man named James or Gregg or something laughed in my face and said where do you want to starts haha?Long story short since they did not do their job the last time I took my truck in this rude manager said I need new drums, rotors, brake pads, a rotor stabilizer, and new freaking tires so those only lasted about 20,000 miles. For a grand total of over 1,900 dollars!I told that fat guy put my tires back on this is not a laughing matter and I am going somewhere else. I called corporate and a day later that same guy was begging me to come back and they would fix it. The day before I was actually going to go back to Pep Boys I went to Trojan Tire in Covina to get a quote. After a Free estimate the guy came back and said I needed mostly what Pep Boys said I did however it was only $650 dollars! The mechanic showed me the brand new parts when they came in and was more professional than anyone I ever dealt with at this Pep Boys location.DO NOT GO TO PEP BOYS!!!! especially this one, worst mechanic experience I have ever had.
Apparently I came in too late (5:45pm), lady seemed stressed out having four cars to service, she did suggest to leave the car overnight.... for a headlight bulb change...first ever I walk away...

I love Pep Boys..i drive a 1996 Nissan 200 SX...needed a clutch replacement...they took care of my car fast...good job!! I called around for prices..they were the lowest price..i always go to Pep Boys.
Horrible customer service. Called to inquire about car paint and they hung up on me. Called back again the moment they picked up the phone, they would hang up again. I have always felt this store chain is kind of shady when it comes to prices, car repairs and customer service and this confirms it. My recommendation, dont go there, dont trust them, dont buy from them.

Took my car in to get serviced and they overcharged and the tech put it the wrong oil . Luckily I noticed and said something so they can put the correct oil.
Did not check my car lights which was supposed to be part of the oil change package and after specific instructions. but they didnt charge for the missed service so it compensated for my time

I did an appointment to be faster and my car was still the last one,they say it was gonna take 1hr and 30 minutes at the most to do a transmission flush and it was more than 2 hrs.When I called to do an appointment they say it was gonna be a certain price and I get here and they tell me something different. Never coming here ever again.

Took my car to fix a flat back on September 2nd i had to take it back today, two weeks later with the same tire leaking.
I advise anyone who gets work done there to check your receipt because they will quote you one thing and charge you a different amount. They added a warranty i never asked for. These guys are very unprofessional. When i went back to discuss my charges with the guy (the big beard/mustache dude) who charged me, he said Oh i didnt write it up so i cant help you, yet he was quick to charge me. Wow what great customer service. Also i took a quote i got cheaper for the work performed & noticed they didnt deduct the 5% from the price. (Pep boys low price guarantee) Im telling you im never going back so i advise all those that want work done call around & get different quotes first. Check reviews too. Oh when you do go there to get work done they start telling you to do other services to your car by what the computer supposedly says without actually looking at what you need to suck more money out of you. Little do they know i work on my own cars (to a certain extent, Tune up) and caught them in a lie & the guy Mauricio felt dumb lol. Oh btw the guy who wrote up my service invoice was Mauricio Ventura. (FTP) So with that said to the next person looking to get their car worked on, look elsewhere. Thanks & good luck yall
