No customer service at all. Spent 130$ on makeup no one even came over to ask if we needed help. Four other customers were greeted and assisted with purchases. They were all Caucasian we are not. Corporate should look into this poor establishment for diversity training.

I have seen this store grow from the ground up. Diana and her crew are nothing but amazing. They are very accommodating. When my husband past they let me come into the store early to get all my makeup for his funeral. They were patient, understanding, and kind. With everything going on in this world, Diana and her crew, make my day better when I am there. They treat you like family. 💜

Diana is great! Every time we we come in there she makes us feel at home. We spend thousands of dollars a year and for our business in the makeup industry. We have pro-accounts with most of the brands but still go into stores to get what we need. Diane has always been able to help and is very knowledgeable in her field!

I go to sephora to surprise my girl friend with gifts all the time with the little knowledge I have on make up. But I was very pleased with Diana’s help. She took the time to ask questions about my girlfriends favorite colors and skin tone to find the perfect product for her. And my girl friend was over the moon with what I bought her. Thanks again Diana!!! Will be coming back for sure.

I have never had a negative shopping experience at this Sephora! I have been helped by Diana a few times over the years and she has always been incredibly kind, patient, and knowledgeable! She has taken the time to explain products to me, and give me her honest opinion when I’m looking for something but I’m not sure which product is best. I’ve felt unwelcome in many makeup stores, but not this one. I’ve always left feeling confident and happy with my purchase and experience!

I don’t recommend this particular Sephora. Unfortunately all of the negative reviews are true... I’ve been in here on a few occasions and have been made to feel uncomfortable. The staff is not diverse at all (at least when I visited), and there is no in between as far as the attention you get… They either ignore you and look at you like you have no money or they follow you around like you have no money and want to steal everything. The manager definitely treats certain people differently. If you’re buying an entire basket worth of stuff she treats you good… But if you have a return Or you are only buying one item she could care less about you. Unfortunately this attitude has rubbed off on the rest of the staff and they are all like this. It’s just a very unpleasant experience all around. I just don’t get how Sales associates hand treat customers and or potential customers so poorly.

I was in this store one last week and Diana helped me. I am not one to normally come on here and post reviews but I myself work and Cs and got scream out the other day by some nasty customer so I feel I need to give a good review for her rather than a negative one that people also post. I went in the store to look around and end up by the drunk elephant shampoo. Diana approached me and was great. She explained everything that the product and I ended up buying the shampoo thanks to all the info that she gave me. She is great and I will definitely be back!

A wonderful Sephora tucked inside JC Penney! For a small store they have a mighty selection. The people working in the store are so knowledgeable and friendly. I have been color matched there several times without fear of becoming orange, and love how they genuinely care about what products would be right for you, not the product with the highest price point. I’ve been to many “big” Sephora stores and they could learn a few things from this “mini” delight!

I had by far my best interaction with any sales personnel at this particular location today. Jaxson was professional, patient, courteous, and personable. Given these weird times we’re living in, he went above and beyond to make sure my shopping experience at Sephora was superior. I have never experienced that before and I’ve been shopping at this location since they first opened in JC Penny. 10/10 would go back to talk to Jaxson and get his opinion on life in general -that’s how awesome he is :)

I loved the lady working there with the long black hair and she asked me if I needed anything else and just call ! She answered all my inquiries about the products that I might need like primer first . before wearing foundation and I said since my skin is super sensitive im careful using new products and I ended up buying some products that she suggest. I like her customer service friendly smiling face . I would go back again and will talk to her when I wanted to buy new products to save time too!

This was my first time at Sephora and Diana made me feel right at home! She was sweet, helpful and informative! She helped me pick out my foundation and lip gloss using the Color IQ (which is a pretty neat device)! I also bought a lovely primer! She really made this process easy for me. I walked out feeling more confident and happy! Yup, I was as happy as a clam! I truly appreciate everything! Thank you for making my day, Diana! Ill be back soon! :-)

Omg... NO, just NOOOO! How can a manager behave so poorly to customers? Poor Example because the rest of the employees take after her... I see she got all of her friends to write her rave reviews al within a few days... lol... girl you’ve had bad reviews from day one. Diana is RUDE... she is not cut out to deal with the public. I’ve given this place several opportunities because we don’t have a real Sephora and Ulta is in the other shed of town. But I’m thankful the mall will soon have an Ulta.... Diana talks down to customers, gets irate over anything And is definitely not helpful. She’s way too sensitive and angry... huge ego. Get rid of her or this store will fail one Ulta sets up shop in the mall

I have purchased items several occasions and unfortunately had to make the long trek back to the Sephora store to return the things that werent working for me. The mall is very much so out of my way, and I work a lot. Mallory was an absolute doll, insisted we color match my skin, and after explaining to her my skin type, the issues I have and the product I would ideally like to find, she was very happy to make me samples of all the products she thought I might like to try. She never rushed me through my questions or faltered on her professional demeanor and kind disposition. Mallory really likes to help you, and I felt she really listened to my personal testimonies with makeup that didnt work for me in the past. She was very generous, never making me feel I was wasting her time or asking for too much. I do plan on purchasing one of the products once I figure out which one I like. But I was just very moved at how kind, patient and attentive she was, in a store that is usually swarming with people and a lot going on at the registers. Thank you to Mallory for truly doing your job, above and beyond what is required. I believe it is called compassion, and unfortunately in retail today I dont see much of that. So thank you, doll!!!!!! ;)

If I could leave zero stars I WOULD. I have friends who have previously worked for Zephora even a former Store manager I’ve always shopped there & loved their service! I am not sure what has happened with their new team, yesterday a friend & myself after work (because we both work at the mall ourselves) came in with the purpose of shopping, we had shopping bags in our hands because we wanted to spoil ourselves! The associate, was a small lady definitely foreign we overheard her just chit chatting with another associate at the counter wearing all black made eye contact with us and decided not to even greet us even though she had seen us standing figuring out what we needed, didn’t offer us any help just completely ignored us! Not to help other customers, but to play with mascara applicators while still making eye contact. I myself needed to definitely be matched for some new foundation due that is fall, I am lighter! No assistance, as someone who’s a leader and works with customers on a daily basis I am letting you guys know that is unacceptable and they definitely lost some loyal customers due to lack of intent to service whom ever is in their building! Absolutely ridiculous! I will definitely be calling corporate as well. Had to go to ULTA to get my make up which is not even convenient for me because it’s easier for me to get it from the mall. That’s how terrible I felt!

The manager needs to be F-I-R-E-D!!! Has the corporate side of sephora not read these reviews? Diana doesn’t need to be working in customer service if she can’t have the right attitude. I’ve been by the side of multiple bad experiences with her while i’ve been in the store with my mom and/or friends. Honestly 90% of the people who work there aren’t fit to be working there because of their attitudes, but look at who their manager is!!!

I visited this store for the first time today and was super excited. Then I walked in and started looking for products I wanted. Majority of the testers were, old, dried up/cracked, and had product all over them. Also, there was very low stock of just about everything. The manager came and introduced herself and was very helpful which is why I am giving it at least three stars. I did not end up buying anything because honestly everything, even brand new products still in boxes, felt dirty.

Never once in all the times Ive been in this store has anyone asked me if I needed help finding something. The staff always seems to be running around but never accomplishing anything as the tester stations are always running out of tissue or cotton swabs, and the store always looks dirty. Also, the only time Ive ever received any sample was if I spent $100 or more. Maybe this is store policy but it seems like when I buy online I always get samples. I will probably continue to shop here for convenience but its not a very satisfying shopping experience.

I’m not one to put out negative reviews but this store has one of the worse employees it has ever had named Diana. I was shopping there with my wife who normally loves to go to Sephora but she had recently told me about a bad experience she had with this woman in regards to the woman being very rude to her when she would ask her a question about a product and asked if she could get a sample the lady was rolling her eyes and acted like she didn’t want to help- like my wife was annoying her. Well when my wife told me about it I was like well maybe she was having a bad day and brushed it off. But then my wife was wanting to try a new skincare line and we were in the mall and we decide to stop by Sephora and see if they had it in stock . Well we were close to the counter looking at the Drunk Elephant products when I overheard this lady fussing at a customer about something. I was trying not to be nosy but she was so rude to the customer you couldn’t help but take notice to what was going on . My wife then informed me that the employee was Diana the employee that was very rude to my wife at a different visit. The way that lady was talking to that customer was just plain out un called for. The customer wasn’t being rude back and was being quite pleasant compared to what I would had been if she was talking to me like that. Apparently the lady was wanting to exchange a product and the lady Diana didn’t want to take it back. This woman Diana needs to be fired !!! People don’t deserve to be treated the way she is obviously treating people. I will be calling customer care and the store manager in regards to her. She needs to get her personality checked. Jcpenny’s is already hurting for business and it’s employees like her that is going to make this store sink.

Went in today to get matched for foundation, there was only one person working and she was helping someone so I patiently waited till they were done. Once they were, another employee came in and the other one left right away only leaving one again. Another customer came in after and asked to get matched for foundation so the employee helped her. Fair enough, she did ask first so I patiently waited again. Once they were done the girl started to help others out and didnt even acknowledge me at all even though I was standing right next to where she was at. I waited for about 15 min to get asked help and still nothing. I really wanted to find out my foundation shade but I decided to leave since I didnt want my money to support rude customer service. I wont return.

If I could give this store a 0 I would cause honestly it don’t deserve the 1 star because of the manager Diane. Hands down the rudest employee they have . As long as you are making purchases at that store she’s happy but if something don’t work out and you need to bring it back she is the rudest person . I live here in Wilmington and unfortunately this is the only store within distance from here to shop at unless you drive to Raleigh which is hours away so needless to say I buy a lot of items online due to there being way more items to shop from online vs the store. I have bought things online that didn’t work out and unfortunately I had to mail it back to Sephora which was a big inconvenience cause you have to drop package off and wait for them to receive it and process it and then wait for your bank to process the refund so last time I had an issue with a product I called Sephora customer service who told me to take it to the store and they could return it there. So that’s what I did. I had the new items along with the packaging slips and there was more than one item that I had to bring back. When I went to the register to do the return Diane who is the manager was the lady that was there. She was so very rude and upset that I had to return items that I had bought online and that there were more than one that she had to call in to CS for order info in order to process The returns. I apologized (which I shouldn’t had but I could tell she was upset) for having to bring them back and I explained that last time I returned something through the mail to Sephora that it took forever to get my refund and that’s why I went to the store to return it instead. She told me that it’s not true about a refund taking long to get credited back( she was accusing me of lying to her about it) that it only takes a few days to be refunded when mailed back to Sephora. Then she went in to telling me that I can’t return anything bought online back to there store ever again( even though clearly the online return policy states that any item bought online within the proper time frame with invoice info can be brought back to any Sephora store for a refund) she then went in to saying that she is stopping refunds bought online from being brought back to her store ( which I don’t see how that’s possible considering the Sephora return policy) due to her getting all the online returns brought back to her store since there aren’t any other stores in the area for people to return the items to and that it is affecting her sales!!!! I work retail and if I acted like the way she acts towards customers( there are way more than my negative review on here of her) I would had been fired and feel she needs to be gotten rid of. This store is going to lose lots of customers (already know a handful of people who won’t go there anymore)due to the way she treats people. This incident happened approximately a little over a month ago and I wasn’t going to say anything on here but my sister who was in there recently had the same experience so I felt the need to comment on this .

I was with izzie and this did did make us uncomfortable... The woman kept walking bear us pretending to have something to do near us. It isnt right to treat customers wrong when theyre paying and profiting the store.Ok so we went back and I got a free facial and the girl was so nice her name was Malory and she was so pretty! She even did my eyebrows for fun! Love her so much so two more stars❣️

My vist today was amazing. I live in Jacksonville and been to the shephora there but this one at the Independence mall has blew me away. Im not really makeup savy but today the manager Elizabeth changed that for me. She was so welcoming and informative. She was absolutely amazing!

I went to this store hoping to not experience the same problems as everyone else seemed to have when it came to customer service, but sadly the reviews prove to be true. I went in to return a few things that was bought for me a few days ago that didn’t work out (after testing them twice) as i hoped they would. Diana was called over to help complete the return, and I hadn’t even said a word before i was hit with two snarky and extremely disrespectful comments. She said in the most sarcastic tone, “The bottle (Urban Decay De-Slick) feels almost empty, ya sure you only had it a few days?” as well as “Ya know, next time you should ask for samples before wasting so many products”. I do what I please with my money, so if I bought out the whole store and came back to make 20 returns, it does not concern you or your personal comments, especially considering that i normally never return items. Just do your job and watch your mouth when it comes to how you speak to customers. You get paid regardless. The comments were so uncalled for and extremely unprofessional and I left the store beyond irritated. I called a Sephora representative and they agreed that no one should be treated in that manner when visiting one of their stores.

When going to sephora today I was looking around and found a product. They didn’t have a sample so I opened the box that looked like it had already been tampered with just to see what it looks like. So I opened it and then closed it right back and one of the workers came and grabbed the product out of my hand and walks away. I brushed it off and kept walking around with my friends looking at the makeup. The ladie follows us around stars, making faces and was kinda watching us. It made me and my friends uncomfortable.

I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars here and they refused to take back my return items because I didnt have my receipt. My family had bought a ton of makeup while traveling for me and they lost the receipts. They have always returned my makeup with no receipts before. Truly disappointed and I will never be back to a JCPenny Sephora. Too bad the closest REAL Sephora is two and half hours away from me.

Every time I have come here I have had terrible experiences and have left in a bad mood. You try to give one on one advice and consultations with too few employees. The wait time is horrible and the beauty consultants are sometimes not helpful. You need more employees working in the store.
