If there was such a thing as a negative rating this would have been perfect for that. My 1.5 yr old home came with electrical issues and hidden junction boxes but the company seems to think its just normal use of the home. Lights that are flickering, lights that are half on and the switch is off. Whole bedroom without electricity and no tripped breakers. Two months of dealing with these issues. Hidden junction box. This company has put my family in danger and thinks that all these problems are just normal wear and tear of a home. Normal wear and tear is my fridge not working, a fire risk from the factory is not. The factory people had the audacity to compare my fire risk electrical issues to a car.If you want to keep your FAMILY SAFE DO NOT BUY FROM CLAYTON HOMES.

I was already warned about the salesman at this location but I believe in giving people a chance and yet the people who warned me where right. This location is horrible. I called just to ask about a floor plan and got a ear full about his experience with SECU which was very discouraging. Long story short im done with house shopping after this. Thanks Clayton.

Sales guys helped out a lot but the house just has a lot of issues and not what you would expect brand new. Bought ours year half ago or so and we had them come to the 1 year warranty stuff WiCh most is still messed up. The walls look ok when they come primed but when you paint them it looks awful the sheet rock work is horrible. My ceiling in my laundry room isn’t even nailed it has a big sag in it and the repair man that came just nailed the edges of it back up there is still a big sag. You can see every sheet rock joint in the ceiling and in the floors in the carpet. the floors have high low spots.and my siding is hardly attached at the bottom WiCh they supposed to have looked at in my warranty period. Have had several leaks and rotted windows WiCh they did fix .hood vent for stove don’t work and was taped close when I took it apart. Fixed that and it’s not even piped out the house so it just blows smoke all inside around the ceiling. Back sliding door has never lined up right and hardly shuts. Just check over really good on inspections on the walls and floors and ceilings being the big things. when I opened my attic it looks like a war zone of nails that missed the trusses coming thru the roof. Everything just seems done really cheap and sure it’s not the most expensive house but some stufff shouldn’t be issues on brand new houses

Had an appointment today 1pm. someone finally greeted us at 130 and offered to help. Be warned this place is the most unprofessional establishment I have ever set foot in.

These homes are built to feel like a regular house! ( Some of the models). Want one!

I had a great experience using Clayton Homes, the first salesman left that office in the middle of the process of getting my house and sort of left a mess for everyone else. Jackie, Derek, and David were awesome, they handled everything and made the process very easy for me being that I was a first time home owner and had no idea about much of anything that needed to be done. We had a lot of issues with Duke Energy but they made sure everyone was in the loop about any updates. I would recommend using them to anyone!

This company is horrible to do business with! The sales team will lie through their teeth. Example my home had water damange and they said it was standard to take that section out of the ceiling.... All lies. Another example they sold my a house that was supposed to be new, but In fact it was the lot model. Another very big lie. When my home finally got to my property there was a homeless man living inside suitcase, phone, food you name it. The best part is I have lived there a month and still cant get my punch list fixed. Still no dishwasher, or fans that work, and broken drywall. This company is horrible the only good thing about them is the contract Mike, if it was not for him I would have many other issues.

Do not buy from this or any Clayton Home dealer. Bad design flaws that will cost you after one year warranty expires. Hard to get service within first year, or at all for that matter. The insurance company will Deny claims for flooding in walls due to BAD ROOF design. Call it long term water damage in walls nowhere near water fixtures e home. Who can see water behind walls anyway. Damage due to faulty roof design that we were unaware of until I found it online. Who looks behind their walls anyway, that is until they get mushy behind that vinyl covering. Bad company from sales through the self owned insurance company. Damage going to cost us 18,000.00 to 20,000.00 to gut to get rid of black mold. Whatcha out for those lungs, they may be in peril.Minus 10 points for this company.

We arrived at this establishment at approximately 5:20pm today. We walked in the door chimed but no one greeted us. So we said hello? Hello? Still no one answered. My fiancé walked a little further into the office and to the right there sat a man. My fiancé said, “hello sir, we’d like to look around at a few of the homes.” This man never looked up at us all he said, “they should be unlocked.” He didn’t say which ones were unlocked. He didn’t stop playing around with his phone to even properly greet us. We turned around and walked out to go look. First home we went to look at was locked. Second one was locked. We looked at each and said f this place. We will go elsewhere. If I could give negative stars I would! The lack of customer service or human decency did not exist. I could care less that you close in 30 mins. You have a job to do, do it until closing time 6pm. We did not need a chauffeur but some kind of direction and/or information would’ve been nice. We definitely will never return and we definitely will NOT ever purchase a home from here. If someone asks, I will let them that they are rude, inconsiderate, and lack common decency.

They answer your questions, give you options and have MODULAR homes as well as manufactured homes with floor plans to choose from. I love most of there homes and they have land and home packages where available. 😍

This place is a absolute joke they were very disrespectful especially David there so called manager who told me I was a pain in his .... and that he would have never sold me a house if he would have know so. They also tried to have documents on my contract notarized without me being present this is a very shady and rude group of people. Every one of the fittings on my plumbing inside the house leaked after moving in, the vinyl on the outside of the house was messed up in several places, they installed under pinning and only screwed every 10 feet or so and after there punch list my front door still did not close and my back door did not lock and to top it all off they tried to take appliances out of my house that were already Delivered and the cereal numbers for were on my contract. So if your thinking about buying something from this lot I would definitely keep looking

Sales and service is horrible. As soon as they get your money they never answer the phone. Been trying to get in contact with them about a broken window and they refuse to help me. I finally had to show up there and when I did Im still getting the run around. I dont recommend ever buying anything from them. They are thieves no doubt about it

Salesman was rude and didn’t want to show us houses. Acted like it was an inconvenience. Asked what we were interested in and only showed us two models as he followed us through like we were going to steal something. Didn’t talk about the home or anything. Just followed us into every room. Didn’t offer to show different options or anything. He should probably find other work since this one makes him so miserable.

Me and my fiancé walked into the Wilmington location and met a guy named Derek who quickly gave us a tour of everything on his lot. We didn’t find what we wanted so we went to the Hampstead location and found our dream home called “Sweet One” we left there and came back to Wilmington and had Derek order it for us. It’s amazing 9’ ceiling throughout the whole house, Sheetrock walls, crown molding eveyhwhere. Great experience all the way around and near closing we met David the store director who was professional and the only small mistake not even made by Clayton rather a sub contractor he called me personally to apologize. If your looking for good service, great prices, and outstanding quality search no more, go to Clayton of Wilmington and ask for Derek.
