This is my favorite home improvement store. I think they have a much better selection than Lowes. I also like the prices, staff and overall atmosphere better, especially the garden department. For some reason their flowers grow better and live longer.

Normally most of the staff are really good and helpful, cashiers and managers. However, the head cashier(Buffy?) is very rude. And the military discount is suppose to be a benefit for military families, but she wants to make it an ordeal. She is very hateful about it. Lowe’s is a lot easier to deal with using it. After 17+ years of shopping at this location, she makes me want to go to Lowe’s where the military appear more appreciated. My husband, father(bronze & silver star), uncles, son(nuke & a chief petty officer), niece, brother-in-law, etc. have all served. So this is a very important issue to me.

Excellent customer service!! Friendly and informative. We found everything needed quickly at good pricing. Plus, for my daughter on her items, they applied the military discount with no hassle. She just presented the card and they applied it for her. Thank you Home Depot for Respecting our men and women who serve and or are veterans!

Wanted to update my original post. Second time is definitely the charm. It was the type of service that I have become accustomed to at the Home Depot. A truck became available and my reservation was not cancelled. The guy who checked me out was friendly and helpful in letting me know about the rental. Same experience when I checked the truck back in, too.

We found some great deals. We found somethings cheaper than lowes. I love your buildings especially the two story one. We will be back for some other items we need.

The 1 star is for the friendly service that I received out on the floor. They were friendly and willing to help me without my asking. The 4 missing stars were deducted as follows: 2 missing stars for someone in the Tool Center cancelling my box truck reservation that I reserved two days in advance. 1 missing star for the rudeness of Terry who assisted me. 1 missing star for Terry lying to me and telling me that I booked a flatbed truck when I came back inside and asked about seeing the truck that I reserved to move my belongings today being loaded with installation by someone else. He had the audacity to ask me if I was sure that I did not want to rent the flatbed for 75 minutes. The box truck was for the whole day. Home Depot cancelling my reservation without my consent has cost me time and money. I took the day off, had everything arranged and unbeknownst to me my reservation was cancelled so that somebodys buddy could use the box truck. Not to mention the additional money you made from the sale of the installation. Guess that just leaves me SOL. Also, your complaint line is a joke.

People are great. More knowledgable than the other big box place. But their system sucks.

Love this place have very unusual products things that you wasnt looking for but they have it so get it when you see it because the next time it will be gone

I had an unbelievable experience! First of all I had a big problem, the key for my car broke 🥺. I went to Lowes with a key that I ordered online and after waiting for a very long time on the gentleman who could help me. He simply looked at me and said I cant cut this its not ours, with a bitter look. I was desperate I was turning on a car with a broken key 🗝️ and my fingers were killing me. I went across the street to the Home Depot and went there thinking I would meet the same fate. But to my surprise the lady at the key center went out of her way to help me. She found a single key that matched cut it for me as a spare then cut my key and refused to even charge me anything. I was dumbfounded. Lady you are amazing. Thank you!

Took way to kong for assistance to load product on cart. Once a new assistant helped all was great. Loaded car helped my mom to car. Awesome

They have lots of plants, plant pots and decorative planters. Customer Service was great. I found all that I needed. No complaints about todays (7/12/2021) visit.

I tried to call customer service 3 times to have a few questions answered just to be put on hold for 45 minutes and finally after I got someone they hung up 2 of the times. Dont waste your time calling unless you have an hour of time to sit around waiting.

Employees are super helpful. So many great plants, bulbs, vegetables, fruits, flowers etc in the garden center. Reasonable prices. Weve ordered a drill and lawnmower online from them. Unfortunately right now everything is way behind so we have about a month wait for the mower and 1-2 weeks for the drill. If you can purchase in store its much better. For the drill it said in store pick up in 3-4 days. Once you actually place the order theres no information on when you can actually pick it up. Two days after ordering it gave us a date 1-2 weeks out. Thats a pretty big issue. But, in store shopping is great.

Those of usLiving the Dream, and utterly unable to afford *FULL PRICED PLANTS,* at todays prices...Either purchase Store seconds, aka discounted/CLEARANCE Priced (usually damaged or literally 1/2 dead or going out of season) Plants. In order to Keep Up With the Jones. Or as I hinted above ...Be able to... ALMOST aquire our *Dream* Yard, Garden, Porch or Patio !It has LOOOOONG been Store policy, NOT to DISCOUNT or otherwise CLEARANCE Price ANY Plant. As ALL dead, damaged, out of season etc. Plants were to be sent BACK to the Distributor (idk y, I ve always assumed for a Tax Write Off) regardless of ANY CONSUMERS desire or willingness to gladly purchase at any price other than FULL.Well....Yesterday, I saw My VERY 1ST CLEARANCE PRICED PLANT at the Depot!!Hurray !!Its about D*MN TIME !!According to Google, I was arriving at Home Depot duringPrime Rush Hour, but I found the Store very nearly empty (which was okay by me, because I had just come from a long line over at Lowes !! Normal homedepot. There is this one crazy guy (good crazy - energetic, personable, remembers regulars, enjoys life and his job) at the front door that greets us on the weekends. Hes awesome to talk to!

Super clean and easy to find what we were looking for! We will definitely be returning when we are in town. We travel full time in a RV and there is also enough room in the parking lot to accommodate, which is a huge plus for us!!

Don (has a ponytail) helped me and my partner today and was so nice and helpful. We had some pretty dumb questions about drill bits and he didn’t make us feel stupid for not knowing and was happy to help and share knowledge for multiple specific items. Home Depot on Hanes mall blvd, protect Don at all cost. He was awesome and I will continue to come to this location because of him.

Unless im getting a discount on my purchase i dont appreciate having to go through self service check outs. I SUPPORT AMERICAN JOBS . I dont support big corporations taking jobs from ppl and making money off me in the process leaving me do someone else job while making me pay to do it

I have wasted so much money getting paint here. Whether Im having them match or mix a color I have already purchased from them, they have literally never gotten the color correct. If you tell them its not the right color they just stare at you and eventually say they cant do anything about it and blame it on the computer. Save your money and go to Sherwin Williams or BM. It will cost you more up front but you wont ever have to buy paint 3 or 4 different times bc they cant figure out how to make the same paint you bought last time. Its beyond frusterating and a huge waste of time.

I picked up a storm door for my grandma today. So she went up to the store and paid for the storm door at 12:20 today 04/30/2021. She asked me to pick it up later in the day. So I went up to the store at 4:30. Only to be told that I had to wait until 6 to come and get it. My grandma was not told to pick this item up at 6. The guy that helped her went and got the door that she wanted and brought it up front so we could get it with ease and even told him we would be there around 4:30. I was unaware of if there was possibly some custom things that needed to be done to the door so I said okay and left and said Id be back at 6. After eating and piddling around for a bit we arrived back at the store at 6:10. Went into the store expecting to be able to grab the door and go because of the previous statement of being told it would be ready at 6. This was not the case. We were told it would be another 10 or 15 minutes. So then after waiting a full 35-40 minutes over the time we were told it would be ready the man finally wheels a stock door up to the front and does not apologize for making us wait as long as we did he just walks away. So Id like to say thank you to home depot for making me waste and entire afternoon for something that could have been done in 5 minutes when I showed up the first time. This place is just a bunch of lazy stupid people roaming around aimlessly. Be careful if you order anything from here it would not surprise me if they took even longer or messed someone elses order up.

Waiting 30 minutes for curbside pickup. I called the store about 4 times once someone picked up the phone they said my order was picked up on June 4. The lady said man called and said my daughter picked up the order. I said first of all a man never would have called and I never picked up the order. The lady put me on hold and never came back to the phone . I finally had to go into the store. I told true lady at check out there curbside is terrible. Other customers had to go in after waiting at curbside also

We are renovating the bathroom. Had a hard time finding fixtures, vanity, lights and toilet at the competitors. Home depot had a very good selection in stock. Only had to order the flooring. Great experience! We were surprised and delighted. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Found what I needed with help. Plenty of employees wondering around. Except at the checkout! I despise self check out lanes. Not sure what genius came up with those. Probably the same one who opened a cook your own food restaurant.

We went in and needed help but couldnt find anyone. By a small stroke of luck I found the over stove microwave on a shelf, loaded it in a cart and bought it. The cashier needed help from a manager but got it taken care of with a smile on her face.

Ryan helped me get some nuts and bolts for a project. Nothing but helpful!Will be back based on his efforts.Good selection of large sized terra cotta pots, if anyone was wondering.

There was lots of customer service but there wasnt the variety and spices that I expected there wasnt lemongrass lemon balm tarragon majorm just to name a few what they had was well presented very healthy and they were doing a lot of business.

I dont know how to not love home Depot just because its a hardware store and thats like a toy store for grown ups but I did notice that occasionally they will be out of something that their website says they have and it doesnt really make sense that they would run out of that particular item before you got there cuz it wasnt a really high demand thing or Ive also noticed that they do have something but their website says they dont and if you do go in which I try to avoid you will find that item on the shelf which will kind of annoy you. So I really think that the online app is the problem not the store so I cant really fault the store for that well and also its a hardware store so I love hardware stores.

I went to Home Depot on Hanes Mall Blvd today 08/16/2020 at approximately 3pm. I asked the salesman (Al), who was sitting behind a desk in the kitchen area, what was the brand of the cabinets that were displayed in the showroom. The guy replied that there was a piece of paper with the name on it. I thought, okay, its true it says it right there. After going around the kitchen cabinet area a couple of times, I asked him if those were all the granite samples that were available, he said that was it, so I told him that I couldnt find what I was looking for. The guy, still sitting down, just shrugged his shoulders; I did not say anything. I kept looking around and found two drawers with small granite samples inside, which proved the guy lied to me; again I didnt say anything to him. While I was looking for what I needed, an older couple came to the kitchen cabinet area and asked him a question. The guy immediately stood up. They didn’t have what the couple was looking for, but the salesperson offered to send someone to their house to see their kitchen and show them the designs and materials that were available. I wasnt going to say anything to him, but I couldnt help it. I took off my mask (so that he could hear me and understand me well) and I said to him You werent that helpful to me when I approached you and asked you questions. The guy wanted to give me a ridiculous excuse and I replied whatever, I just wanted you to know and I turned around while he kept talking nonsense. This is how things are at this store now, the treatment you receive is according to the color of your skin or your apparent social status. The older couple didnt buy anything, I did, but I purchased it from the company across the street, Lowes, you moron!

For many years we preferred Lowes because they were a local homegrown company. Not the case anymore. HD is so much better.

If I could give zero stars I would. Worst customer experience Ive ever had. Ordered outdoor furniture, waited almost a month to get, but didnt get it. UPS confirmed delivery but HD customer service said they dont have items. How can one sign to receive but not account for the items. I will not be giving an future business to HD.

I really like Home Depot for there tile selection and flooring. Its much more diversified then Lowes. I am not giving it 5 stars for a few reasons that may not matter to anyone else. I wish I was able to buy flooring by the piece instead of a case so I didnt have so much waste. And I would have liked to have seen a greeter with freshly wiped carts due to the COVID19. Instead there was a table with disposable masks and gloves and soap. The soap smelled awful and left your hands sticky. It was really nasty. Thank goodness I had spray soap in my purse to clean off their soap. I wore my own mask but it was nice to be offered a disposable one. And the gloves we did use. Other then these two things I love this store.

BEST STAFF EVER! I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. As with any business, occasionally staff were not readily available. Overall, I have always been pleased with their products and service. However, September 13, 2020 at Hanes Mall Blvd. store, my experience was beyond satisfactory. I became ill while in the store. I called the Home Depot number to ask for help. The manager, Ryan, quickly assessed the situation and sent Susan to assist me.I was treated with dignity, respect, and empathy by Ryan and Susan. Susan was willing to do whatever to help me. As I expressed my appreciation she responded, It is my pleasure.The phrase going beyond the call of duty does not even describe how Susan and Ryan treated me.I would encourage those who have had to wait a long time for a staff person to remember, the staff may be helping someone else in different part of the store. I think Susan was helping me for about 20 or more minutes.I have shared the experience with my friends and encouraged them to give a shout out to this store.I will definitely remain a loyal Home Depot Customer.Mary Jane

Home Depot would be great place to shop for home essentials and projects if the employees would try to help customers a little more. Customer service interaction 101 should be a requirement before their first day on the job.

Home Depot Hanes area, Winston-Salem, is an absolute nightmare. So many employees standing around in clusters talking with one another but not willing to help the customers, even after asked ng for assistance. I finally went to customer service where three employees had to have a 4 minute discussion on who they could call to help me. After 10 more minutes of waiting I went to another employee near customer service that was also just standing around and asked to speak with a manager. She called Kendall, the manager on duty, but he never showed up either. Suppose as the manger, his employees follow in his same footsteps. They have forever lost my business. I wish I could give them zero stars as a rating!

Went to Lowes and nobody would help us. At Home Depot they were eager to help and had exactly what we needed.

Necessity? It is called the Do-it-Yourself Warehouse because you go there and do it/find it yourself. Wonderful associates - when you can find them. Been shopping there >20x a year for almost 30 years (every department). I have a 17-year log showing they have ALL project components 55% of the time (either not a SKU or out of stock). Faulty logic: missing inventory is what keeps customers coming back! :)

Good selection but not as diverse as Lowe’s. Hard to find anyone to help me or answer questions. Just a big warehouse. Prices are reasonable. Clean. Not a local company like Lowe’s. Home Depot supports a lot of controversial and anti-Christian organizations. I prefer Lowe’s - by a lot!!
