I am new to North Carolina and I had an eye exam and contacts fitting over a year ago. I paid all my fees etc.. that day on time. About a month and a half ago, I got a bill stating that I owed them money from that visit over a year ago. I called and spoke to Keely and after some review she said that they had made a mistake and that they owed me a $50 refund for overpayment and would issue me a check in the mail. After another three weeks went by and still no check, I called and they said checks are issued at the end of the month. A week after the end of the month and still no check. I called again and they said Keely would get back to me. Later that day she left a voicemail stating they would send me a check out on Tuesday October 12, 2021. After a week goes by, still no check. I called again and spoke with Keely and she said she would check with another department and call me back. I told her I could come in and get the check and she said she would get back to me as soon as possible. I called again later that day because nobody had got back to me and spoke with Keely again. She put me on hold but came back to say the other department had not gotten back to her but they would call me direct. I let her know my disappointment in how this is being handled. I also let her know that I felt that I am just getting the run around. Needless to say, still waiting on call back. Also still no check in the mail!
My experience was absolutely wonderful. From the front desk to check out . Keely was very helpful with all my questions.
My aunt went in today for an exam, was offered dilating drops which she refused and told the personnel she did NOT want. They made her pay an extra $40 dollars to avoid getting the drops. Yet when she went into the back, they still put the drops in her eyes telling her it was something else. Absolutely awful communication among-st the personnel. She couldve been allergic to those drops and they carelessly went about doing what they wanted and not what shouldve been done per the customers request. Even the doctor was flabbergasted when he saw what they had done after she requested it NOT be done. All they offered was her money back, which they had given to a completely different person because of their lack of communication and customer service!!! This is unacceptable and just awful.

Excellent doctors and nice state of the art facility. Have been going here for a few years and really liked the service till this passed year. I had a change in insurance and scheduled an annual eye exam. Claim was process as a medical visit instead of a routine eye exam. When I addressed this with the billing team they refused to correct the coding on claim because I asked questions during my routine exam on how to take care of my eyes. Representative quoted policy to me and refused to help any further. Even though I love the care here I sadly am going to have find some another provider. I walked away paying $116 for a routine eye exam, when it should have been 100% covered.
My experience at Summit Eye Care was absolutely wonderful! From the moment I arrived till the end of my visit! I had never been to such a professional, captivating & friendly ophthalmology office. The staff and Dr.’s are very attentive and caring about any concerns you may have. I felt really comfortable & gained much knowledge from my visit. I will be recommending this office! Can’t wait for my next visit!
Summit Eye Center is a beautiful and very clean eye care center. The actual staff that take the patients back are awesome and caring. However the Front Desk staff is not very friendly or in the business of giving good customer service. As a front desk specialist myself if I spoke to patients the way I witnessed this front desk staff speak to people I definitely would not have a job. The fact is, is was not even me they were being rude too but elderly patients that were maybe confused about their benefits or what have you. No one especially elderly citizens should be spoken to that way and especially over a $20 or $35 co pay or what have you. The staff was not discreet in the approach to these people, honestly they were down right RUDE!
The best place for corrective eye surgery. I had the ICL procedure done and I absolutely love it! My vision is now 20/20 with no glasses or contacts. I am so excited and would recommend this procedure to anyone that is wanting to be contact and glasses free!!
I was very happy with my experience with Summit. They found a cataract ready to be taken off instead of just prescribing new glasses

Maybe it was because I have Medicare and not private insurance. Maybe it was because his surgeries did not go well that day. I finally saw Dr. K almost 3 hours after my appointment time. I started to leave, but I was really worried about my eye.. Dr. K seemed annoyed and curt that I was there. I did not feel comfortable with his manner and I was still worried about my vision when I left.

Came from out of state. Took 3 months to get my first appointment as they were busy I understand. Nobody bothered to say “hey you may want to sign a release so we will have your current records on file”. I guess I should have known. They didn’t ask about my current meds needing a refill at my appt and said they needed my medical history. I signed a medical release and months later have my next appointment. I call on Friday to make sure they have my records and she says they do not but Carmen promises me she will get them Monday for my Tuesday morning appointment and will notify me when she has them. No email or call from Carmen Monday I email late in the day no response. Drive in Tuesday morning assuming Carmen would fulfill her promise and she says sorry I was out yesterday I just tried this morning but it must be too early. Want to cancel your appointment ?
My Experience at this office exceeded my expectations for eye care. From the front desk staff to the technicians to the doctors. I had received total overall great care. I will be looking forward to my state of the art ICL surgery coming soon.
Dr. Biggs has done a wonderful job helping my eyes heal from Ocular Rosacea and Blepharitis. He has been extremely professional, yet friendly and has been very reassuring. I have had 2 of my 4 treatments, and not only have my eyes shown great improvement, but the rosacea on my entire face has also improved. I am very happy with these improvements and also with the friendliness and professionalism of the entire staff!

I’ll on two separate occasions I have had bad experiences with this office. First, my daughters eye glasses were ordered and paid for by myself, only to find out a couple weeks later that my insurance didn’t cover them. This is something the office should be aware of beware before accepting my payment and placing the order. Secondly, on my visit, I was told my front desk number insurance doesn’t cover a contacts fitting fee which they wanted me to pay $85. I refused because I knew from years of having contacts that my insurance does cover a fitting fee. I left the office and called my insurance and the staff at Summit was incorrect. My insurance does cover the fee. I would not recommend this office. They don’t seem knowledgeable about insurance and coverage and I have had to do research on my end to dispute them, which isn’t my job. Town Center Vision is awesome and helpful if you need a great eye doctor that accepts federal BCBS vision.
They were ok but why didnt they inform me my insurance was not in their network? I didnt know and cost me three thousand dollars for cataract surgery.

I took my mother to this office for an 8:30am visit today and could not go inside, which I completely understood because of COVID-19, but she had the worst experience possible and wound up not even seeing the doctor. We arrived 15 minutes early and my mother filled out her paperwork before placing it on the counter where the recptionist, a heavy set readhead, though she didnt catch her name, instructed her to. The woman was not paying attention and did not enter her information in a timely fashion making my mother late.What bothered us most about this experience was that the receptionist did not own her mistake. She made it out to the nurses that my mother had been late and everyone was blaming her for them being behind. In addition, they seemed flabbergasted when my mother expressed that she had Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a secondary insurance, not just Medicare as her primary, despite the fact that they had just made copies of both her cards!They apologized to her sarcastically when she tried to express that it had been the front desks mistake that made her late and they made her feel like she had inconvenienced the whole office to the point that she wound up leaving without being seen by the doctor. Seeing my mother in tears by the time she got out to me in the car made my blood boil. Even if this doctor is exceptional at providing care, their staff seems to be incompetent at communicating and taking responsibility for their mistakes.

Everyone was so polite, performed the duties with professionalism yet also had a good bit of compassion for you as a patient! The staff is great but they book too many people. Been waiting a hour and a half for my grandmothers appointment. This is not the first time. Why even make appointments...
After being a patient at another eye clinicand spending more than half the day before seeing the doctor, it was nice to be checkedand seen by the doctor in a timely manner

I was recommended by my MD. I was very concerned about the problem I was having with my left eye. After a complete exam the doctor explained the problem and treatment. My eyes are fine now. Summit Eye Care is certainly the group to use for your care in Winston-Salem.

I always enjoyed the actual experience of the appointment however I always received surprise bills after being told that everything would be covered. After a receiving a bill in April for something that was office error I have been contacting them consistently trying to resolve it. I was told it was resolved in August and then have continued to receive bills and when I call them I have been told twice now that they would call me back to resolve the issue and I have not heard back. Very disappointed in their customer service and have found another office because of this. Very sad for the doctor because always enjoyed the care I received.
Saw Dr. Khemsara and his staff for first visit in March. I was very impressed with the care and concern for my eye problems. I would highly recommend Summit Eye Care to family and friends
Beware when buying contacts. I was told there was 40.00 when I made the purchase. When I get there and pay for the contacts, I asked about the rebate I was told that I would get. I was told there was not a rebate. This is bad business. From now on I will not order my contacts from Summit!!!!I want to take the time to thank Kathy for reaching out to me and correcting the issue. This is great customer service and I really appreciate her. Just an honest mistake was made. I will continue to get my contacts from Summit!!!

I have been to several eye doctors trying to find someone to give me a contact lense option for my particular eye problems. I had run out of options... other doctors told me that they had no options for me and I would have to wear glasses the rest of my life... then I found Summit Eye.The team at Summit Eye was professional and caring. Worst experience ever; I had my cataract surgery there and was told Medicare only paid for the removal of the cataract and not the lens. I called other ophthalmology practices and states that all insurances pay for the standard lens. I called back to Summit Eye care for clarification and was told the same thing by another person. This practice cares about money and not the patients. I feel like I’m part of a cattle call there also Dr. K seems like he only cares about how quick he can do surgery versus taking his time and doing it right. I will be reporting this practice to Medicare for fraud.
My over all experience today was absolutely wonderful. I really like Dr. Tran, she was pleasant, kind and very knowledgeable. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and kind. I enjoyed my overall experience.

I will admit, my past experience with this practice has been hit or miss, so I was a bit hesitant to return for my annual eye exam this year. However, Dr. Keith Biggs is truly top notch. He took ample time to answer the various questions I had regarding my vision, listened with attentiveness and care, and advocated on my behalf with a less than generous insurance provider. Again, I cant speak to the whole of the practice, but I can wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Biggs to anyone looking for an Optometrist.

I was astonished and very happy and impressed by how quickly Summit responded to my eye emergency, especially because I am new in town and this was my first visit.
The receptionist didnt even bother to offer a greeting before telling me that I would be placed on a brief hold. When this went past 5 min, I put the call on speaker. When she finally came back on line, she hung up before I could respond even though I was holding the phone in my hand. According to the web profile this was supposedly one of the least busy times to call this office, Thurs mid-morning. Possibly the other low ratings are due to the lack of a well-trained receptionist as the doctor himself is well regarded. Hopefully my experience was atypical.
Rude doctor, disorganized staff. I was called and informed there was a open slot before my appointment and I should show up early. I did so, then arrived and waited for over an hour. When I finally got in to see the doctor he recommended surgery before even looking at the issue. When I explained why I was leaving the doctor was both trite and rude.

The staff are very friendly and kind. Despite this fact, there is little consideration to my time. I arrived here today at 3:45pm for an appt schedule for 4:05pm. It’s is now 5:25 and I have still not been seen by the doctor. This is not the first time this has happened.

Great place. All very nice. Doctor I saw was not only very informative, but help me with several eye conditions. Was patient and friendly too. I have seen a couple of different eye doctors and most i have gotten just about everything wrong with eyecare or did not want to do things if only they could not do the procedures. This doctor lets you decide and friendly about it. Have big issue looking at light and he was so kind about it. And let me know what was causing my isses (root of problem) to finally address that too, where all the others i guess could care less of the cause but only wanted to half way treat it. Great! Staying with them.

This was my first visit to this office after having moved here from Michigan. I had many eye tests (dry eye, inflammation, retina, among many others) performed by a very competent and caring technician. Afterwards I met with Dr. Biggs who looked at my previous history and treatment for lattice degeneration, a retinal hole and dry eyes. He examined my eyes and interpreted all of the current test results. Dr. Biggs assured me that everything was stable and that he would continue to monitor me. I felt I was in good hands.The staff was very apologetic for the long wait due to many staff being out sick. I actually appreciated that the sick staff members stayed home rather than expose me to the flu or other illnesses.My only criticism is that the patient portal is not as patient-friendly as others that I use (Novant and Wake Forest) I asked a simple follow-up question to my visit, but never heard back via the website. Based on my experience I got the feeling that thats not the best way to communicate.

Very poor after sale experience seemed upset because we called to see if 890 dollar glasses in first person handling that on vacation til 4 days later then called back oh oh 2 week back order ..planned a trip guess wont have glasses as planned no call to advise seemed upset we had audacity to check ...not happy at all stay away from this provider
