Maria did not know how to style my natural hair after doing a blowout! I was looking like a grandma for real!!!! An they charged 60.00 even after I told her I did not like it.Horrible experience. I would definitely NOT recommend them for trying to get a blow out!

Maria did an absolutely amazing job at cutting my hair! I had damaged curly hair and I had asked to get rid of any damage I had plus layer my hair, and she exceeded my expectations, she was very gentle and kind. The staff was super friendly and gave me the advice I needed to keep my hair healthy!

Such a good experience! Ive lived in northern Virginia for 10 years now and have used many different Dominican hair salons. I have never gone back to one because something was always wrong whether it was the cut or the service...BUT Dominican house of beauty was awesome.I made an appointment through their website for the same day. I got there early and they actually were able to take me ahead of schedule even though they were super busy! I had Amy as my stylist who was very consultative and made sure to check in throughout my haircut to make sure I still liked it and it was matching my vision.A great haircut for a super affordable price! Will definitely be back as my go to salon with Amy! Highly recommend!

Not only they had a SAME DAY appt for exactly what I wanted booking from their website. She was patient with me while I was being difficult she was on POINT with what I wanted. Amazing experience !About less than 6 months ago I went to another salon. The lady told me the color she put in my hair would last a year and I paid a lot of money for it. 6 months later my hair turned from red to blonde.Got lucky and got a last min spot with Maria to color my hair. She was amazing ! She explained everything to me ahead of time, cleared up any misunderstandings I had, etc. Gave me exactly what I needed.She’s amazing and I would def go back to her for a cut. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!!!

I came here Sunday, and I got my hair done by Ana. I came in with some really dead hair at the ends and random shades of red/violet from using overtone, and she did such a great job of cleaning up my ends and gave me a nice cut. The final results were awesome! Se blended my dark roots into the pink section nicely. She made my hair look like what I never thought it could look like. No, it isn’t cheap, but I think it’s better to invest the money for reliable job, rather than skimp and come out with a bad hair.Thanks, you Ana!

Spent the better part of my birthday at the salon (my first trip). I received the best mani pedi, Desiree is great. The young lady that did me hair did a good job. I had a roller set and light blow (no flat ironing for this woman). I find that the roller set is best because my hair has memory and I can reshape throughout the week. I found it to be a little pricey (the hair).

My daughters hair are at the best time ever since we have being coming here. thank you ladies for helping my daughters hair too grow!

Finally I found a place were they understood what I wanted on my hair! Excelent shampoo wash, cut and the hair blowout amazing! Without using a flat iron on my hair! The attention super! Definitely my new hair care place!

Its very sad to hear that Desiree no longer works here. She gave the best manicures! My nails were always flawless. She often came up with original designs and just her personality alone would make me drive past several other shops in the area to get my nails done here. Jackie does some pretty amazing pedicures as well. Im not sure whats going on but I need Desiree back! I had great service with them but Im not sure what it will be like now...will update.

Nice clean location, good haircuts.

Ive been coming to the salon for about 15 months. Initially my hair was extremely damaged and I was extremely frustrated. Ive always had healthy strong thick hair. Now Im at a stage in my life that I would like to cover my greys and previous shops were using products that caused severe damage to my hair. Well within 5-6 month I could see a significant change in my hair and it was healthier and I was getting my length back. I would recommend this salon to everyone. Please try to communicate before you get upset everyone I do mean EVERYONE is extremely friendly and understanding heres and will try to work with you and provide the best service for you and your hair.

I went to DHOB to get my hair trimmed. It was my first and last time. I signed my name for a trim and Eyebrows. A few minutes later, one the woman came to tell me (she already knew the texture of my hair before looking up close) that my hair was too curly so they either have to wet it to cut it or straighten it out. I agreed to have them cut it wet. She then proceeded to say that usually, when cut while wet; it ends up uneven. So, she tells me that I can go home, straighten my hair and come back or they would have to straighten it out ( which would cost me around $70 vs a trim for $15). She then said, she doesnt want to do something that would end up bad. She didnt bother to see that I was also there for my eyebrows. CLEARLY, this person DID NOT WANT MY business for whatever reason. But luckily, I found someone who would do my hair and eyebrows a few doors down. They were really happy to do it and were tipped happily. I will NEVER EVER go to that place again and lets just say, people will not get my recommendation to that place!!!!

I asked for a star, this is what was done on my son, dont go to the older gentleman. He said there was no space for a star. I told him next time dont do anything on someone if its not what they ask for. Very upset if it wasnt for Ariel who cut my other sons hair I would never go back.

Rude staff, let me and my husband stand for a couple minutes without saying anything to us, and we just walked out. Weeks after my husband decided to give this place a second opportunity and same thing happen. I would not go back here or spend my time trying.

Amy is 👍 She informs you of what is going on with your hair. Not many stylists do this. She advises the BEST METHOD to get your hair heathy again. She teaches her staff and her students. Came to the salon for a blow out and trim and ended up getting severe heat damage to my 4c hair. Attempted to come back to get some advice on how to get my curl pattern back and was told that use gel and wear out my halfway curly and straight hair.

If you have natural or transitioning hair that you would like washed & roller set I wouldnt suggest this place at all. It seems to me that they really only know how to do naturally straight or permed hair. Im growing out my perm and wanted a wash and roller set. After my hair was washed & conditioned I was informed by the receptionist (Im not sure if she was actually the receptionist or the salon manager or instructor) that they prefer to blow dry my hair and then curl it. I informed her that wasnt what I wanted & I preferred my hair to be rolled and then straightened with the blow dryer. The woman proceeds to tell me that my hair was straight when I walked in the shop (although Id washed my hair 2 days earlier, let air dry & had it in 2 French braids when I arrived at the shop) and she assumed my hair was not natural. I informed the receptionist that the professional way to have dealt with that issue was to have not assumed and simply asked if I was natural or not before service ensued and then she couldve explained their methods of handling natural hair. Although, she then offered to roller set my hair herself I declined after losing confidence that it would be done correctly. Needless to say, after a bit of back and forth I chose to pay for my conditioning & leave the shop unsatisfied. If you want your hair done as YOU request, find another shop!UPDATE: Im just reading this lengthy response (3 years later lol) from the owner an I stand by my original review. Ive gone to many other Dominican hair salons and made the same request as I did with this salon (while having no perm/natural hair) and my request was granted (without the back and forth) and my hair turned out beautiful... straight roots with body and full of curls. There was absolutley no flat ironing involved.. simply washed, conditioned, roller set, and then blow drying of the roots after sitting under the dryer. My experience here was trash and I would never recommend them or step foot back into there establishment. Good luck to you if YOU do!

This Salon is very rude, each time a called to book an appt. they said no they cant no do it... This is my second time calling and the lady who pick up phone calls always find some excuse to not book me. Bad customer service and very disrespectful

Its close to my house AND I found a Groupon for blowout services. Great, right?! Nope. The customer service totally ruined my experience. I really wanted to remain a customer here because I like the way Nellie did my hair. My Groupon was not honored because I came on a Saturday. There were no stipulations indicated on the Groupon, nor were there any mention of it on the salon website and the woman making the decisions made it seem as if it were my fault. So, they would rather lose a customer than to honor their own Groupon. As a business owner, I would have honored the Groupon as a gesture of good faith. I received a refund from Groupon for the money I paid, but I wont be back.

My boy Edwin is always on point with my haircut! (military style) I always contact him before my arrival and always my wait time is less than 10 minutes! you cant beat that.

I took my son to get his hair cut for the first time here. The barber there didnt acknowledge us and left us waiting while he ran errands. Once I waited 20 minutes, I left without any service. This place has no professionalism at all.....

I went to get a haircut and the hairdresser was offended by asking if I had done something similar before and simply refused to give me the service, there is no type of customer service or someone to attend you in reality, the worst experience I could have had, JUST SAVE YOUR TIME TO GO THERE IS NOT WORTH IT!
