We cannot say enough good things about Dr. Heinke and staff! My husband and I along with our two boys just went in for appointments and everything went very smoothly. They were careful and cautious yet extremely efficient during this crazy time. We always feel well taken care of when we visit. I apologize in advance for the length of this review, but I genuinely feel that the amazing service provided by Dr. Heinke and her team deserves to be applauded and explained in full!I have worn glasses for over 20 years and contacts for almost 15, so I have had my share of annual eye appointments. I always thought appointments were meant to be quick 20 minutes of, which looks better 1 or 2, 2 or 3, 3 or 4 and so on and so on. You answer and walk out with a prescription or some glasses. This had always been my experience and I never questioned it.My appointment with Dr. Heinke was by far and without a doubt the best! I am beyond grateful to have come across her practice by sheer luck. I needed an appointment day of or next day and was looking for a practice in network. I called number after number and all were booked. Her practice happened to have a cancellation and they were able to get me in if I could get there within the hour!Everyone in the building was so kind and genuinely seems to enjoy what they do; the two women at the front desk (one of which didnt even hesitate to spend over an hour helping me get the best deal through insurance), the gentleman assisting with finding the best frames, the woman who performed my vision acuity tests, and Dr. Heinke.Dr. Heinke went into such great detail about the testing she was completing and worked hard to find the best prescription for me. We had to try multiple sets of contacts and test the prescription again since it just wasnt quite clear enough. This wasnt unusual to me, since I always have felt I walk out from other locations with it not seeming quite right (none ever offered to recheck), but figured it was always just as good as it could be and that I was just getting used to the new prescription.She didnt dismiss me mentioning it was still a bit blurry. She had us try again, despite being over my 1 hour appointment and well into her lunch. It was at this point, that she discovered that I have an imbalance in which one eyes point of focus is above the other and has lead to blurriness. She was able to help correct this for me! After learning more about this, I came to realize that I have probably had this for years, perhaps even born with it, and it was just never discovered!As if this isnt enough, she also went into great depth when testing the dryness of my eyes. I took visual tests, that I have never even been offered in all those other offices over the last 20 years. She took photos of my tear glands and was able to find out that they were clogged and needed help with releasing the oils; that had been leading to all the eye dryness. Something that no other optometrist had tested for. The solution, in the past, had always been for me to take allergy meds and use eye drops.As I was leaving the room, I found myself choking up a bit as I thanked her, which completely took me by surprise!!! I hadnt realized just how much it meant to me, until I put it into words as I was leaving. I have a prescription of -6, so to me my contacts and my glasses are EVERYTHING. I pretty much am unable to function without them whatsoever. To leave with such visual clarity, for the first time in 20 years, is simply AMAZING!Thanks Dr. Heinke and team! I’ve been to many eye doctors in the Mchenry County area and Dr. Heinke has been by far the best. She explains everything very well and you can tell she is very knowledgeable about her profession. My family and I were very happy with the way our exams went. The staff was also very friendly! I have been wearing glasses for 30+ years and my favorite frames ever came from here. Will definitely be returning and I highly recommend Family Eye Care of Woodstock and Lake Geneva to anyone searching for a fantastic eye doctor.

Dr. Heinke was great very thorough. Explained things in detail and answered all my (what may have seemed silly to her) questions that I had. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable! I am so glad that I found this place.

I had my first visit to Family Eye Care of Woodstock. I am extremely pleased with all aspects of my visit. The exam was thorough and all of my questions and concerns were answered. The Doctor and staff were friendly and highly knowledgeable. I highly recommend them.

I had a lipiflow treatment and it worked wonders! My dry eyes were moderate to severe before the treatment and afterword very close to normal! Worth the price. They are all so kind, accommodating and knowledgeable. I would recommend them to everyone!

Dr. Heinke is not only extremely good at what she does, but also compassionate towards her patients. She has always taken the time out to fully evaluate each situation and answer any questions that I have. Im extremely fortunate to have her as my doctor.

Dr. Heinke gave my daughter a very comprehensive eye exam. I was extremely impressed that she noticed an issue my daughter has that hadnt been identified by the eye doctor we were previously seeing. I will definitely be a returning customer.

I was running late for my appointment at Family Eye Care and they still got me in right away. They were so pleasant to me about it even though they had a full schedule. The staff is wonderful and they know how to work efficiently.

Very thorough eye exam, I was very happy with my new glasses and will be going back for my yearly check soon

Ordered two pairs of glasses from them. Got the glasses had to get BOTH pairs re made because prescription issue ... THEN I tried on the 2nd pair and told them .... my perception is off.. Id like to return them. nope, they INSIST remaking them FIVE times and then tell me Im past the refund deadline. Seriously? never go back ever again extremely upset ! This place SUCKS

Frames are way overpriced. Can go to Cosco and get the same treatment get the same care at a fraction of the cost. The doctor is nice but the staff is clueless. One year I used the insurance the next year no change in insurance and they said they cant bill it anymore. Was told everything was paid thru my insurance. go in to pick up my glasses and i owed $180 no one on that staff is on the same page as the other person there are four people in that office none of them know whats going on with the next person

The staff and Dr. Heinke are amazing. They always give me excellent care. They never rush me and they are always personable and caring. I wouldnt even consider trusting my eyesight to anyone but Dr. Heinke.
