This was a very fun activity for my daughter and me. She was thrilled to select different colors (even glitter), scents, surprise inside toys, and shapes to gift her friends. All of these selections are included in the price. By melting one bar of soap, we were able to create around 20 tiny gift soaps to share with others. That is a lot of soap. If we selected bigger soap molds, then we could possibly have made four or five soaps for our friends. We were provided gift bags with tyes and cards to share with everyone for free. The soap making building is the second building, and the building where you pay is the first building from the corner of Philadelphia street. Also, the day that we went, we received a free sample of bath bombs to help calm my daughter whom was having a temper tantrum in the middle of the store because she did not want to leave this place. I cannot afford to buy gifts for my friends anymore, but I am thankful for the experience. If I ever have extra money, then I will make soap here again. I dont have any money for it though. Overall this is a very affordable activity for one bar of soap.

Have never heard of this shop until my neighbor bought me some body butter! It smells DELICIOUS!!! An I absolutely love it. I am planning to go visit the shop now that I know about it. I was going to order online but unfortunately it does say its an unsecured site so I wont put my debit card into the site. But I look forward to going to the actual shop

Amazing place and experience. A little more pricey but thats what you pay you when things are homemade. It is definitely worth the trip though! It is very hard to find parking just a little warning 😁 me and my children loved the experience and had a wonderful time!

I visited this wonderful soap shop while visiting York for the weekend. They recommended their beer soap (smells amazing!!) to me as I was looking for local gifts to take home with me, and they also made a fantastic recommendation to check out the York Imporium and provided a coupon for a 10% discount. I certainly look forward to returning when in town again!

Sunrise soap had been a staple of my forays into downtown York for years. Chris, the proprietor, has done an amazing job and of expanding her tiny, closet sized soap shop into this amazing, 4 location small business chain in Downtown York, Eastern market, Downtown Gettysburg and in Lancaster, at the park city mall. Each one of these stores have an extensive selection of handmade soaps and body products as well as a host of other products such as inscense, locally made crafts, clothes...too much to mention.it has been very satisfying to see her so successful. Her employees are also amazing, friendly and knowledgeable about the products, which you can watch them make right in front of your eyes!!

We stopped in their shop 8 or 9 years ago when they were doing a Made in the USA weekend in York. We love their soaps and their lotion bars. We are no longer in the area so I make an order from time to time and have them shipped. They have the best scents and fantastic soap!

Ordered their goats milk soap as a last resort of my sensitive acne prone skin. Nothing has ever worked after trying “holy grail” products for years. Finally the goats milk soap has been amazing for my breakout prone skin. The pricing is competitive and it makes me feel good ordering for a Pennsylvania business. So in love with this company. Ordered at the beginning of the pandemic and my order arrived within 5 days. Very impressed with this company.

The mother ship as they staff affectionately calls this location. Its their working indoor factory for over 14 years. Yes, they are making most of the products they offer right in the back of this store. This production facility gives a lightly sensory overload with the fragrances of all the different incenses, soaps, perfume bath bombs ect. Through out the store stacks of soap and in various stages of dring.

I love ordering from Sunrise. Their lip balms are the only ones I use. My mother had issues with dry scalp. Since she started using their leave in condition her scalp has significantly improved and she no longer has issues. The orders always come quickly and without issue. I cannot recommend them enough.

If I could give this shop a million stars I would! Growing up in downtown York, this was the first store I ever ventured in to and now I go all the time. The owner Chris, quickly became one of my favorite downtown people. I use their products on the regular, and always go back for more once I’m out. My skin tends to be sensitive but it loves anything that comes out of here. They are also environmentally conscious which is a plus in my book. There’s just something magical about this place♥️

One day I sat across the street from Sunrise eating ice cream with my then 3 year old. We had left the doctors office where we received the news that they would no longer be treating her for her skin because nothing was working.After reading the sign on the glass and appreciating their humble decor... I was willing to try anything. I went into the store and was greeted with kindness right away.. it was so peaceful and the sun coming through the window illuminated everything....I spoke to the lady and she looked at my daughter and gave me a sample soap and said try this then come back. I was confused as to why she didn’t say “buy this, buy that” but I trusted her word.I tried it for a week and NOTHING that doctors prescribed my daughter has worked like that soap has! Of course I went back, I asked question, as they educated me I learned and produced my own routine with their products..My daughter went from looking like a burn patient, from raw skin, cuts and blisters to a happy child that was able to bathe and play with no pain and her skin was healing! Now 10 years later I still go to them, with trust that every item is made with love. We rely on their products.I refer so many people to them every chance I get when I hear a story about anyone suffering with skin. To top it off, I gave my last supply to a child in need. The next day I drove into York as early as I could and ran into the lady putting up a sign and closing shop due to the virus. At this point I was a bit worried I wouldn’t have been able to purchase but, with no problem she walked back into the shop and got me what I needed and also added and sample soap.The people here mean well, their products mean well... I respect and love this store and I hope they know how much they have impacted me and many lives. Because of that little sample soap I received years ago and them simply being there... I am forever in their debt...Thank you! 🙏

I don’t understand all of the good reviews on here. I went there with my friends to find a soap for my one friends sick mom. I guess we took too long for the hag who was working, and she basically told us to buy something now or leave and was very nasty. We were in there for maybe 10 minutes tops. I won’t ever go back there - besides the soaps were mediocre at best I’d rather invest in lush or make my own.

Oh my goodness If you love smell good soaps, and I tell you this shop doesnt disappoint. The staff is very welcoming, I was there on a trip with the Bowie Senior Center and the owner and associates could not have been more kind, and helpful. I am still enjoying the soap, body butter. The sugar scrub which was made up for me on the spot. (Where does this happen) I want to thank them for a great experience.

Brought in a client w special needs and the ladies who worked there made it so easy for him to have an enjoyable time making soap and lip balm. To say they catered to him is an understatement. He loved it and was so excited to make a present dor his mom and roommate. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an activity that is not to taxing or overly long. For $9. He made 7 soaps in various shapes that he picked out as well as color and scent. He also made a flavored lip balm. Well worth it for just the sheer happiness it brought him. I fell in love with their soap after making my own and purchasing some during our school district wellness day last year. My son also enjoyed making his own soap with the huge variety of molds. I love that it is all natural and its great for my sensitive skin. I am sad that the Park City store is now closed, but I just recently ordered my favorite soap online and received it quickly. Hopefully Ill be visiting the York store soon. Thank you for making such healthy, safe, affordable, and effective products!

I made my own soap and bathfizzies at the Maker’s Tables. The soap is wonderful. The bath fizz also was very luscious but in the bath seemed to make my skin oily. After getting out of the bath I was very relaxed and able to fall asleep quickly. When I woke up, I noticed how soft my skin was. I was very happy with the service quality and the workers. I would definitely go back!

Awesome little soap shop in downtown York. Handmade, affordable bar soap, shampoo bars, lotions, bath bombs, charcoal facial soaps and scrubs, incense, cute bumper stickers, and more! The owners are deadhead hippies and they have a very cute, natural aesthetic and you get a sense of pride buying from a small, eco-friendly business. Bring in their paper bag they give you when you come back to cut down on waste and save a little bit off your total next time. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful and can recommend soaps and lotions based on your skin type or any skin conditions you may have.

I order from Sunrise all the time off of their website. Theyre basically the only soap that I use. Their Walnut Facial Soap has tamed my face and tamped down my breakouts. Their scented soaps smell great and last a long time. My favorite is the Sweet Orange with African Black Soap and Goats Milk Soap. Its a mouthful, but it makes my skin feel wonderful. I really appreciate what they do, and their customer service has always been good. Deliveries are shipped quickly too, which is always nice. A+ Would and Do recommend.

I am absolutely in love with their dry shampoo and their foot scrub and their foot butter. My older daughter loves their bath bombs and my youngest daughter absolutely adores their rubber duckies and handmade decorative soaps. Speaking of which Im out of foot scrub ;)

Nice store. Saw it on pcn. Was very excited to drive from Pittsburgh to see it. When I got their guess I had one imagine in my head of what it was going to be. My image and what it was didnt match up.

I went today and took 4 kids to make bath fizzies today and I would like to say that they did have fun making them but to be honest the smell combo of coco and another sent is awful no matter what they used. My son was excited to take a bath but when he started to run the water and threw them in he quickly changed his mind due to the foul smell. Im going to say again they did have fun but I would not take them again.

This is everything you love about a small business. The staff is lovely, knowledgeable, and friendly. The store is interesting, warm, and special. And the soaps and creams and fizzies, well, we just can’t say enough good things. We have been using the soaps for years and just cannot go back to the name-brand soaps full of chemicals that dry out our skin. We LOVE the bath fizzies especially in the fall and winter months to keep our skin from feeling dry, and the scents are amazing. Our daughters have made their own soaps and lotions many many times at the big wooden table in the back. We LOVE this place. It’s not just a shop, it’s an experience. You cannot go wrong here. It is absolutely worth a visit. Get yourself some soaps, fizzies, and body butter. Make some soaps or sugar scrubs. And don’t forget to bring back your store bag for a bit off your total!

My mom and I love this place. I’m in love with their natural soaps because they leave my skin soft and silky as most soaps dry out my skin. And there is such a nice large variety to choose from! My favorite is their “gold, frankincense and myrr soap” that comes out during the winter holidays. My mom is a big fan of their bath fuzzies and buys them by the dozens. Great products and friendly staff! If I lived closer I would take one of their awesome soap making classes!

I love their soaps and products, refuse to use any soap other than theirs. Only three stars due to their customer service. They seem to be rude as well as rushing. There has been instances where they are yelling at customers. Espically on weekends and near the holidays.I have had maybe two times where the staff was kind and helpful. I just wish the customer service was better.

Stop in the Sunrise Soap Company and dont just buy your soap but watch it actually being made and cut into bars. And all their probucts are made of old fashioned natural ingriedients. They have a large selection of scents on hand. Dont forget to pick up their homemade lip balms as well. Being set in downtown York, Pa and outfitted in 60s style will make this stop all the more fun!

We stumbled across this gem of a store one night in York,Pa and what a Great place.We use many of their soaps now and will never ever go back to store bought soaps. Who knows whats in those soaps these days.? The owners are very friendly and will answer any questions that you may have. I highly recommend them.

It was our third time coming in to get soap balls of theirs. My kids loves their soap balls. The fragrance in the soap balls are what my kids like. You can make your own soap balls and the likes in that shop, which they can provide a class for a small fee. Do check out their apple app on your iphone to get their specials and discounts. At times they do give out free bag samples with your purchases. Wifi access is desired at this shop as the tower signal are really bad in the area.

This is one of the best places in york to buy soap, lotions, gifts, or just go to find things you didnt know you needed. They have a DIY table that is fun for any age! I bring my son in and he makes soaps for presents or for his tub time. I recommend this 100%
