I called Scott last minute since I was stuck in my tracks trying to do my suspension on my own. I needed a special tool due to complications with a little bit of rust. Scott was able to fit me in the next day and I even asked if I could help with the job. He was all about it and taught me quite a few things! Everything went smooth with his help and fair pricing all around.

My boys and I spent a few days in Joshua Tree camping in our 4x4 bus. The day before we left I had the oil and fuel filters changed at a dealer in Torrance. Unfortunately the dealer did not fasten the diesel fuel pump and moved a radiator hose too close to a pull which slowly wore a hose in the hose.On our 3rd day deep inside the park we had a serious situation with antifreeze leaking badly. This isnt good under any circumstances, but on a day when its 100 and your 30 miles from cell service and even further from an repair shop, we had to make a field repair to get us out of park. Its a Saturday (10/10/20) and we make it to cell service and Google a repair shop. After calling several i called Scotts auto. He answered and told me he was closed for the day, but offered to help me out. We arrived around 1p and within an hour he had the hose replaced and topped off with antifreeze. Now replacing a radiator hose on a normal car is easy, but doing it on a 6 wheel drive bus where access is limited took a bit of work by Scott, Steven as well as me and my boys. Now what makes this truly awesome is that at 7p on a Saturday night he called me to make sure we got home safely. Thank you Scott for your great service, professionalism and care. Will definitely stop by on our next trip to JT.

Scott and his staff were very very helpful and took good care of me and my van when the radiator blew going up the yucca grade. They went out of their way to get me in to the shop safely, and the radiator replaced as soon as could possibly be done. He checked other things to make sure my van was good to continue across the country, and followed up with me for a couple of days to make sure there was no leak. The work has held over time and miles. I appreciate Scott very much.

Arrived 5:10PM on a Saturday and Scott correctly diagnosed the trouble in minutes (alternator), an issue which had eluded the AAA guy who sold us a battery thinking thats what it was (nope, we lost power on that new battery on the way toward Yucca Valley) plus Scott volunteered that we probably wanted it fixed that day. Given the time of day (closing time) and day of the week Saturday night), we were happily surprised at that news as we were ending a 2000+ mile trip and trying to get back to LA after an exhausting adventure.He made a call and parts arrived from his supplier in 10 minutes, and then he got started, after finishing another repair. In other words he did not start until at least 6PM and then powered through and finished at around 8:30PM.Modern cars are complex and are not mechanic-friendly (cramped quarters with skid plates and other stuff in the way) but his great tools and knowledge plowed through all the obstacles and got our Toyota Tacoma perfect.So I ask, who in their right mind would start a repair at 6pm on a Saturday and plow though until 8:30 PM? Only Scott I am sure. He promised, he delivered, and we had asked for no special favors. Thanks heavens for this outstanding small businessman and 1-man shop. I only wish I lived in Yucca Valley so I could give him ALL my business. He is a rare find, and one we found only by accident and good luck. If you have a chance to use him, I totally recommend him.

Scott Auto saved me in a crisis moment and I could not recommend this business and owner more for incredible integrity and generosity. I was on a roadtrip, driving through this part of the desert on a record breaking day of 123 degrees. My brand new Mercedes broke down on me due to a fluke / faulty part and I was alone, with my dog and without much cell service.Not only did he diagnostically figure out the issue, instead of charging me for what was still under warranty, he cooled the engine, gave us water and shelter and we were able to get back to a dealership in Palm Springs.No one else helped me that entire day but this man. Saturday evening (May 2021) when My girlfriend and I were driving back to Los Angeles from our vacation, our Toyota completely shut down on the highway and we barley made it to Scott Automotive in Yucca Valley. Unfortunately his shop was closing. We talked to him and he graciously took a look at our truck. After we explained our desperate situation, Scott quickly called the parts shop and replaced our dead alternator. We were on the road again in no time. Scott Auto is the most honest and friendliest auto repair in Yucca Valley/Joshua Tree.We were in a pinch when our 1999 GMC Sierra’s fuel pump went out.Everywhere we called be fore we got Scott told us they were booked a week out and we were trying to get home after visiting Joshua Tree NP.We called Scott Auto and he diagnosed the problem over the phone and gave us a quick fix technique that got us into his shop.In the end it was the best mechanic experience I’ve every had. His prices were as good as it gets and his honesty and generosity ended up creating a friendship.We will be stopping in to say hi to Scott next time we are in Joshua Tree, even if we don’t need a mechanic!Great guy!He was able to bust out a new fuel pump in about 5hrs. Tried Scott Auto because the usual shop we go to was booked almost three weeks out. He got us in three days later. We originally thought we needed was to replace the fuel pump, or even worse, needing to replace the computer module. Scott ran several tests and figured out it was only a bad connection to the battery which had acid corrosion on the terminals. He cleaned them thoroughly and it totally fixed the problem. Because of Scott’s honesty, what could have cost us hundreds of dollars, only cost us 80 bucks! We will be taking our car to him on a regular basis.

Scott is the best mechanic in town hands down. I have never had an issue with anything he has fixed. Hes worked on all of our cars for years. Very fair priced profesional mechanic:)

While driving through Yucca Valley I drove over a wire that punctured my tire. We called Scott and he immediately headed over to the shop to meet up even though it was late on a Saturday. He was very helpful, knowledgeable and fast and got the tire plugged up and we were off in no time at all. Highly recommend visiting Scott for your car needs.

I brought over my 2001 Isuzu rodeo to have the air conditioner checked out which has not worked for many years. Scott was busy when I arrived, but stopped immediately what he was doing and fixed my car on the spot. The charge for labor and the refrigerant? $50. I will definitely be returning to Scott Auto for my repairs and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a quality, fair, and honest mechanic.

I had a travel emergency and Scott & crew got me back on the way. I was passing thru town and broke down. I called every mechanic in town and they were all booked for days. Scott made it clear he was booked, but would take a quick look and advise me what to do. Turns out, it was a simple plastic connection that broke and emptied all my coolant in seconds. Honest mechanic who knows what hes doing!

Went there for misfire in my cylinder 2 and came away with my truck in worst shape than before I went there. It shimmers and shakes and now has a random misfires. He claimed to replace gaskets and put in sealant, but he didnt. He didnt even admit that he broke our radiator until we complained that we smelled coolant on the third time we took it back. The mans a liar and you shouldnt trust him.

Our family’s over fifteen year old Acura MDX overheated and broke down on a recent weekend trip to Joshua Tree from LA and Scott was the only mechanic that would help us on short notice. He was even willing to work on his day off so that our family could use the car to get back home Sunday night. Scott is very honest, nice, and knowledgeable and skilled when it comes to cars. He really cares about his customers and their cars, and it shows. His prices are also very reasonable.
