Always quick & painless. Nobody likes to go to the doctor or get a smog but this us the easiest smog experience around. Its posted on huge easy to read posters what you need as well as all costs to expect. Love this place!

They broke the hood latch on my truck and didnt tell me and it flew up against my window shield while I was diving down street from their shop, almost killed us in traffic. They tried to hide the damage by damaging it more. They will not pay for the damage. They will not return my calls. It has been two years and Im still cant get them to do anything. Stay away from this place.

I been going to smog dog for years even though Ultimate Motors is cheaper, I like smog dog because their usually friendly and willing to work with me, but I sent my girlfriend to get a smog on her car, she called me and told me she failed.So I contacted the smog dog to ask what happened (I’m a mechanic so I prescanned the car to verify monitors were cleared and it was ready to test...)and the technician failed her on a visual for the intake boot it was worn but there was no check engine light. I understand that these things need to be in good condition but why did he not perform the visual check before running the car now I paid 50$ and he said I get a free retest.Listen I get the fact that a car can fail for a visual test but I’m not happy with the fact that they wanted to test it even though it wasn’t gonna pass. I ordered the part for 20$ but I just feel like they will test and charge $ before they pop the hood and be honest with the customer...It’s not a major issue but I just had a bad taste in my mouth after I got off the phone the guy literally said he could hear the Vaccum leak and that it would get a check engine light anytime just be frank you can visually fail someone because their fans are electric Or if you see a butt splice or something but only if you wanted to knit pick...I just feel like the technician should have popped the hood prior to the test there could have been non carb legal headers in there why not perform the visual first and scan for codes first 🤷‍♂️Imagine you car would not pass because of something visual and they charge you the 50 bucks but you can’t get the part then your screwed...

I want to get my car smog checked and the man waved me on into the bay and I got out and gave him my info and key and he was done in about 7 minutes. He was a very nice young man, Tracy. I give this place my highest recommendation to anyone needing a smog check. It only cost me $55 and Tracy sent my cars passing result to the DMV directly.

Ive been doing business here since Ty at Diamond Automotive suggested almost 7 years ago. They try to get you in and out as quickly as possible.

Kid didn’t want my business. My car is from out of state and I needed the emissions test. His scanner wouldn’t read the dash barcode and he wouldn’t use the one inside the doorframe or on the firewall. Drove across the street to Castrol and they did it no problem. We laughed about Smog Dog. Save yourself the headache, just go across the street.

I have been a customer of Smog Dog for years, and they have always been courteous and helpful. Their service is fast and knowledgeable. They have moved....they DID NOT go out of business as some competitors have been telling their customers. Easy to find right on the highway. James and company would like to see their old customers and friends again. I recommend very highly to go see the crew at Smog Dog!

Every smog shop I called blew off my questions and acted like they couldnt care less and couldnt wait to get off the phone.Smog dog didnt. So far customer service is a 5/5 as far as I am concerned.

Since my last visit to Smog Dog 2 years ago theyve moved to a slightly different location. (If youre familiar with Yucca Valley, theyre now located right across from the Best Western. Dont be fooled; their old location is now occupied by a different smog place so make sure to double check the address.) The service at this new locale is still top rate. Ive been going to Smog Dog for my checks for at least 8 years now and Ive always had courteous and efficient service. Usually I call ahead to see if theres a wait just to make sure theyll be able to fit me in before the end of the day. I get off work at 4:15 and Ive always had helpful people explain that I just need to come in before 4:30 to have my check-up done. Today I called, found they werent stacked up with customers and was driving away with my smog certification already electronically registered with the DMV by 4:35. I cant recommend this place more highly. I even saved $5 off the price by showing them a promotional coupon from their website, so check there before you stop in. Courteous, fast & efficient - you cant ask for more.

I live in 29 Palms. I called on Saturday and was told that this shop closes at 3:00pm. I drove to Yucca and arrived at 1:30pm, the technician told me he had not had lunch and would be back in an hour. I came back at 2:10pm, and the technician never did.This was a wasted 3 hours for me on my day off.

I was on my way to the (competitors) test center to find out it has recently located to Yucca Valley. I stepped inside Smog Dog thinking it was the other Test center and i was welcomed and cared for by Ms. Crystal and the Manager James. Excellent customer service. The other test center just lost a customer and Smog Dog just gained one. Thanks guys

Dont go here!! Owner is extremely rude and unprofessional .. customer service is not something they know anything about... I went here 2 days in a row to try and get a smog and decided to go somewhere else, the first day there machines were down when I called today to ask if they were doing smogs the guy said all day everyday? Umm well yesterday they werent and I decided to wait and get it done today by them but when I asked how long it would take the guy responded very unprofessional and would not even say an estimate of how long... I dont know how this place stays open with the way they treat customers. Both days it was the same man I dealt with and both days he was extremely rude!

He goes by the book which is really good but at simple sight he could tell you is not going to pass wey her for a or b reason before doing the test but instead he takes your money then he tell you will not pass because of your exhaust/air intake, what a joke...

Allow me to correct my review, when Smog Dog came up for my review i thought it was Smogys right down the street that i was rateng my apologies to everyone at Smog Dog and i rate Smog Dog with 4 stars, good service, good priceing and good customer relations again my apologies to Smog Dog and to Smogys you dont even rate 1 star you should not be in business

Being fairly new to the area I asked for a recommendation for a smog check place, and Smog Dog was the one I got. I did not need a test only place but the lady Michelle H. that told me about it said it was the best place to go. I got there at about 1:20pm and was told it would take between 30 & 40 minutes to be done, whet to lunch and came back just before 2pm and it was done and had passed. I would recommend that anyone needing their vehicle smogged to drop in and let these folks take care of you. Youll be glad you did. :)

Told me their smog machine was down and promised to call me back in a day or two. When I called them to see if the machine was working again they said no and hung up on me as I was taking if they had any idea of when it might be fixed. Very rude! Went to Ultimate Motors, very friendly& helpful! And a whole dollar cheaper than Smog Dog.

Took in my car to get smogged with the check engine light on. Instead of telling me the car will fail if the light is on, he ran my car anyway, failed it, and charged me $55. Now I have to spend $45 if I want to get my car re-tested there. If you know a car is going to fail before testing it... Inform the customer.

Okay.... first of all the man at the front desk with all the tattoos was very rude, then we waitFor him to be free due to him getting everything set up for his day and he comes out to tell us he can’t do my boyfriend mustang because he doesn’t have a Dyno after we already told him we had a mustang 😒 all I’m gonna say is if you don’t like your job FIND SOMEWHERE ELSE TO WORK 🗣 being rude to your customers makes you lose business !!! I don’t recommend smog dog at all unless you want terrible service ... PERIOD 🤷🏻‍♀️
