I took guitar lessons here for 3.5 years and Ive never regretted it. I had such good instruction about technique and performance that I still carry with me.I purchased a custom Pimentel jazz-style classical guitar and it is sublime. I have tiny hands so the guitar-makers made the neck smaller and thinner than a standard classical guitar. It is gorgeous.I still go in to get my strings changed because I just like being in there.Sidebar note: If they ever make a Pimentel Ukulele I would get one made right quick ;)

Rick expertly repaired my 40-year-old classical guitar from another maker, fixing the intonation problems and making it much easier to play. He was generous with his time, discussing design options and materials, and making sure I knew how to take care of my instrument. Robert also did a lot of work on it.I went here based on my good friend’s experience with his instruments. Very trustworthy family business. Thanks to all of them!

Visiting Albuquerque on a business trip. Looking for a guitar store and found Pimentel as a stop/builder on Google. Really glad I stopped in. Rick gave me a presentation about their guitars then showed me around the shop. What great hospitality! Their guitars are truly works of art and passion. I hope I can afford one someday.

Beautiful, hand-made guitars which are way out of my price range. This family-owned business creates custom works of art played by musicians all over the world. Additionally, the big name guitar makers employ this shop to do a lot of their custom work on (again) very expensive instruments. Well-worth a visit, but leave your wallet at home. If you have to ask, you cant afford it.

Rick gave us a wonderful tour of their workshop. They are true Mastercraft men. Their guitars are made to sound superb and they are fabulously beautiful.

Pimentel is the best. Please dont pass up the opportunity to see these guys at work. You will be missing out if you do.

I needed some woodwork on my Les Paul type guitar and I trusted my baby to these good people because of their fine reputation for making exquisite and beautiful spanish style classical guitars. The work was done quickly and competently and the fee was reasonable. The most pleasurable part of the experience was the smell in their shop of mahogany and other fine tonewoods, it was like heaven. A lovely experience even though I dont play those find of guitars.

After I recently purchased a 1971 Pimentel guitar from a pawn shop, I noticed it had some cracks along the body, and not wanting to try to fix it on my own, I decided to take it to Pimentel & Sons to see what they thought, and met Rick. He immediately indicated he could fix it. So he quoted a price, and a time he would be done. I called a day early and it was done, for the price he quoted. Whats really cool, is he also fixed another part of the guitar, included. He also put on new strings.I was so impressed, I am now taking lessons from Gustavo trying to learn the right way to play. Not being a young man any more, its makes all the difference and both Rick and Gustavo...LISTEN...to what I needed and then wanted.I highly recommend them.Dan

A marvelous Albuquerque treasure! Seven decades of the Pimentel family luthiers building quality custom acoustic guitars, repairing guitars, and providing personalized instruction.We visited in the shop with Rick (of the third generation) and quickly learned of the problems with our neglected 45-year-old handcrafted Mexican guitars, and of the available remedies and recommendations. They are a skilled family business, and an honest one.

We had an older guitar refurbished and had a very positive experience. The staff is very knowledgeable and pleasant.

Rick was able to restore two Ancient Guilds with love and dedication. He understood these were my brothers Soulmates. Thanks again Rick !

I own a guitar store in Michigan and was considering caring some of their products ukuleles and guitar possibly called to ask for a tour and they were very rude on the phone and said that they dont do that.
