I went on first time ever and saw a cute little scissors pin. The associate was not very helpful when I asked to get one ( didn’t know I could help myself?!?!) and told me that was the lady. Did not offer to sell it to me, so I asked to buy it. Not very happy and pleasant .... a friend told me I should have just walked out. Well, I didn’t and Zi did buy the LAST ( !!!!???) one. But I am NOT ever going back. I did not feel welcomed there. Too bad- such a nice location with unfriendly service.

LOVE Stitch Sew Shop! While I have yet to take a class, they have helped me reignite my passion for garment sewing and embroidery. I love the fact that they are right here in Old Town Alex. Itʻs a fabulous communal concept with lots of high quality fabric, patterns, and notions, and even higher quality people. Itʻs definitely worth a fly-by or more!

I love shopping at Stitch Sew Shop! Ive visited both online and in-person, and their selection is top notch. They are also really helpful in explaining different fabric properties and notion uses, and since Im a beginner sewist I really appreciate their insight. Their packages come within a few days, usually faster than Amazon! I look forward to visiting more and taking a class once the pandemic is over.

Beautiful store

I have been searching for a shop that specifically serves garment sewists in the DMV area and I think this is the one! This shop stocks a wide range of indie pattern designers, offers classes, fabric, notions, and will even print a PDF pattern for you on A0 paper- its everything a sewist could want. When I visited, I was helped by an associate who helped me understand the difference between ballpoint vs. jersey. vs double needles for sewing knits. If you wonder what thread you need to match the fabric youre buying, they have a thread index where everything is pre-matched and they can recommend what color you should buy. My fabric purchase was kindly wrapped in tissue paper which is a marked difference in care and customer service from a large craft store. I anticipate visiting this shop frequently because not only do they have an excellent selection of fabric and notions, they have the expertise to help you make decisions on a project. I love knowing I can visit a shop that will have everything I need, rather than having all the component parts shipped to me.

This review is long, long overdue but better late than never! I cannot say enough about how much I love this local fabric shop. I feel like they are the heart of the local sewing community and the staff here have helped me with fabric/sewing questions more times than I can recall. The quality of the fabric and notions offered are superb and the pattern selection is wonderful. Since COVID, they now also offer an online shop where you can order for curbside pick-up or delivery. If youre looking for fabric for a project, and whether you are a brand new sewer or experienced, you will find what you need here!

A little pricey but thats reflective of the quality. Great fabric, tools, and kits. Took a class and it was fantastic, also went in for a private lesson to help me figure out some sewing machine issues. Definitely recommend.

Wonderful team and such fun atmosphere. I took two classes with Cristian and he is very knowledgeable, patient and fun to work with. The store is very well organized with a large amount of sewing supplies. Their fabric is very beautiful and very fair priced. It’s a nice experience from the moment you walk through the door until you walk out. I highly recommend the classes, your time and money will be well spent. And you will support a local business rather than big corporations.

I stopped by Stich Sew Shop with a friend. We both had small children with us. The staff was not only super friendly, but also very accommodating. I needed to change my daughter and both ladies in the shop were so kind in helping me find an easy, safe place to do so. Of course, they have a great variety of unbelievably beautiful fabrics, patterns, and notions, too. I highly recommend this adorable shop for both the quality of their products and their service! It was an absolute delight to shop there.

Went in with some patches that I needed to sew back onto my jacket and while standing in an empty sewing room surrounded by sewing machines was told they dont that for customers. Bummer, just needed the machine for 5 mins and was happy to pay for its use. I guess this isnt in the business model but it was a fairly odd experience giving we were surrounded by machines not being used.

I live in another state and happened to stumble on this fabric store, bought wool fabric and got home and didn’t have enough. I called and they immediately shipped me more, such customer service!

Love this place! Fabric and pattern selection is great and so are the classes. Great shop if you are into garment sewing.

Nice facility and friendly staff. I took a primer class from Mary and she is very knowledge and patient. Ive learned so much and its well worth the time and money. Learned the basics of a sewing machine and even made myself my first pin cushion. Looking forward for more classes!

I love that all of their fabrics are all natural! They also have crazy cool zippers and other notions. I took the serger class and learned SO much. Crazy cool place!
