Ive been renting Uhaul trucks (for personal and business use) at this location for years. This is the best this place has been; from counter service to the cleanliness. The level of customer service under the current manager and her team are unparalleled. Each rental has been seamless and efficient. Ms. Megan and her team are professionals. I will continue to rent from here when I need to haul anything too big to fit in my SUV!
Brandon gave me a whole speech about how I would be liable for damages if I declined insurance and damage waivers, but charged me anyway without telling me. He also made the bold claim that a 15 foot truck would cost $350,000 to replace. Laughable at best.
We recently got a trailer from Uhaul on Opelika Rd.They charged me for 2 days when I actually returned it early. I had a 9 hour rental and I only had it 6 1/2 hrs.I picked up at 10:14 on 8/10/2021. When I dropped it off at 4:44 on 8/10/2021 I heard the lady [Megan] told the other guy not to check it in that she had it. I didnt get out of the car because it was very busy and they had it unhooked in seconds. She then told me I was good to go and it was all taken care of and that we could leave. When I disputed the time, she left a message on my phone that I had in fact dropped it off on the 11th. I have a witness that was in the car with me at 4:44 on the 10th. I was at work on 8/11 at 2:14 pm which is when they say I dropped it off and could not have had a trailer hooked to my car as I was parked at work. I have multiple witnesses. from work. I have 2 phones that track my location that show me there at 4:44 pm on the 10th and at work at 2:14pm on the 11th.

Daughter reserved storage boxes to store apartment furniture while changing apartments only to be told less than a day before the move the boxes were not available! Could never a satisfactory resolution after being on the phone with u-haul for 2 hours. Very upset and very dissatisfied.
Started my journey with renting a UHAUL truck and trailer two weeks before the move. Megan was very knowledgeable and helped me make the right truck size choice. Unfortunately, the uhaul reservation system was down that day so I reserved from home later that week.For some reason the “traffic” division of UHAUL that is not based in Auburn changed my reservation the day before and I was going to have to go to Phoenix City to pick up a truck, and Opelika to pick up the trailer. Ended up working with Hunter King and Hugh three times in one day, the day before the rental pickup date, to iron out my issues.Hunter gave the info for traffic try and get it sorted out, which eventually did work. There wasn’t anything he could do to add my reservation to the store because they were out of truck. By an act of God someone canceled later and I got the truck I needed at this location. Then “traffic” moved it again..Needless to say. Hunter K. was knowledgeable, patient, and extremely helpful in getting the reservation squared away again and even helped add an extra day to my reservation so I could get the truck immediately.11/10 recommend this store because of the employees Megan, Hunter K., and Hugh.I say everything here to show you how much of a hassle it can be to reserve online. If you can reserve in-person at this store it will save SOOO many headaches.War Damn Eagle
Paperwork got messed up and I got charged for 460 miles instead of the 30 I did. Seem to think its perfectly fine to do 460 miles in six hours and refuse to refund the couple hundred dollars they overcharged. Just rent a truck, dont come here.

I had some issues with the truck and the roadside assistance was completely useless. They did not have any service available in Auburn at the time (near downtown). However, the lady in charge of the store was exceptionally helpful (didnt get the name). The only reason I will rent again is only for the great customer service in the store.
Excellent service- made moving a breeze! This is the second time we rented a van here and had great customer service and super easy return.
I normally hate going to places where I wait to have something done to my car. That being said Uhaul installed a hitch on my car and not only did they do it in a more than reasonable time, I actually enjoyed my wait. The customer service rep at the front Megan, made it an enjoyable experience. I highly recommend the folks here for all your needs. They are professional and personable.

A No Show. We made a reservation for a Move In date for a Saturday. The woman who took the information said they are no longer open on a Saturday, but she would make the exception for this time. She gave us her personal cell phone number and asked if we would call 15 minutes before arrival and she would meet us to sign the paper work. We did just that, no one picked up, but we left a message. We arrived with a dorm room full of stuff to store for the summer and we called again, no answer. The sign on the door of the office said they were closed but to call the number (her number)AND the national number, which is what we did. The Representative for the national number said the U-HAUL company doesnt allow their storage buildings to close on a Saturday and that they couldnt do more to help us. So while we waited for a return phone call, we started looking at other storage places near by and STOR-EAGLE Storage was able to accommodate us with no problems! At the time of this review it has been almost 5 hours since we left a message at U-HAUL Moving & Storage of Auburn and we still did not get a return phone call. Make a reservation at your own risk.

I have rented uhaul trailers before but I have never had an experience like this one! The employees absolutely knocked my socks off!! Brandon, Megan, and Blake have absolutely made this experience the best I have ever had. I will definitely come back to this location for all my rental needs!!
My husband and I chose to use Uhaul for our move because it was the best affordable option. For future moves we will do everything we can to avoid working with them again.After making a reservation a month in advance, we found that our truck had been double booked and watched it be given to someone else right in front of us. When asked for some kind of alternative or assistance, the man who was supposed to be helping us simply told us, “That’s too bad,” and that we could call the national Uhaul line. Because our state is becoming overwhelmed with COVID-19 cases, we used the Uhaul app to check in and pick up the truck. However, the man helping us said that we should have come inside (where not a single employee was masked) if we wanted the truck. We understand that this situation may not have been this individual’s fault, but his behavior made our situation even more distressing, as he was quite rude, even belligerent, and made no attempt at an apology for this very disruptive mistake.This mixup has made our lives very difficult, and we were sorely disappointed in the employee’s attitude toward us. In the future, we will not be using Uhaul, and from now on we will be warning others about this.

We waited in the store for 10 mins untilSomeone walked in from the back to help. We did the scan and go on the app, and the man still wanted to verify our items and print a confirmation. Why do scan and go if you have to wait in line anyways?

I reserved 15’ truck. Before picking up they assigned me 26’ truck instead, saying that 15’ not available.
Uhauls online booking system made some major errors on my booking, but I had a ton of time-saving help from the staff at this location. They helped me get the correct size truck for my move.
Unable to complete reservation because keys were lost by last person to use the van. First, there should be duplicates. Second, I was called the morning I was supposed to move. Why even bother guaranteeing something that is not there? After cancelling my reservation and having me go around town looking for a same-day, 3x more rental, the location did not even tell me about the U-Haul program that gives partial reimbursements for failed guarantees.
Could not have been better. Guy behind counter was quick and efficient. Guy who hooked trailer up just as good. In and out in 20 minutes including purchase of wardrobes, tape, boxes and part for hitch.

The General Manager greets you at the door. I had a reservation to pick up a trailer for my son and later found out it wasnt needed. The store was able to refund my money within two days, even though I purchased a one-way rental. Be sure to stop by there for all of your rental needs!
Without a doubt, the most unprofessional outfit of workers Ive ever witnessed behind a single desk. My sister went into the store to complete the very routine process of accessing her storage unit. However, unbeknownst to her or anyone else, they were full and instead rerouted her reservation to Georgia. This information was not even gathered until they second attempt to receive help from the desk, for the first time we spoke to their general manager, Tavon Scott, who was at the moment in no mood to do his job. As soon as he saw that our last name did not come up in the computer, he looked at us as if we were crazy and then proceeded to profusely rid himself of all blame (it was the call center) and yelled at us for becoming frustrated at the fact that we seemingly had no storage. He was completely unwilling to make up for the fault of his company in any capacity and did nothing but sit there and act annoyed at our frustration. I dropped by one last time to use the restroom and I could hear them quoting us and laughing at our situation until they saw I had come in. I was so disgusted at their attitude about their job that I marched up to the desk to get Mr. Scotts full name to write in this report, to which he replied, laughing You can just look up my name if you need it. I replied take care and he replied oh I will take care and continued to murmur something under his breath to the amusement of his coworkers. Ive never held an official job to this date, but if I talked half as rudely to any customer as they did to us, Id expect to be canned on the spot, and thats exactly what I wish upon this man, Mr. Scott. Id equate this crew to a group of shiftless, gawky teenagers who are too immature to own up to their own shortcomings. Simply put, these insolent fools dont know how to represent a company and dont appreciate the name stitched onto their shirt. Theyve made a decision to be bad at what they do. One star for knowing English.
My reserved trailer was rented to another person which sent it over 90 miles away. However, since we all remained calm; they worked with us and gave us a 17 foot truck which worked out so much better than a small trailer. It had better gas milage, great air conditioning, and we didnt need to pay extra for a logistical error. Thanks guys at Auburn U-Haul for making my move stress free and helping out even though you really didnt need to....
The rep who assisted me at this store is a tall, bearded man. As soon as he handed me the truck, I took a picture of the odometer. On the contract, he had mileage out that was lower than what I saw before I started moving. The mileage out should be the odometer mileage when the truck is handed to the customer, not the mileage that may be on their records when the truck was returned by a previous customer.Also, unknown to me, there was a dolly in the back that I had not even reserved. I saw it only when I opened the back to load my stuff. I was surprised, to say the least and wondered if I will be billed for it. Guess what? I was billed for it even though I had not used it. And how did he know that I had used it? When I called this morning, he told me that the plastic tab that was attached to the dolly was broken. When I try to assure him that I had not even touched the dolly, his response was rude and something like we have a lot of customers who say they didnt use the dolly but they actually did. In short, he had just accused me of lying! My question is: why was the dolly even there in the first place? I had not reserved it! And if there was something in the back of the truck, he should have opened the back and shown it to me. I would have asked for the dolly to be taken out. Further, how do I know that tab wasnt broken before the truck keys were handed to me? So, this was a clear case of an attempt to cheat a customer. I wonder how many people this store rep has cheated. Next time, if I ever rent again from this location (which I very much doubt) or any other, I will make certain to open the back and have them remove any extra stuff I did not order!Any attempts at talking with the rep over the phone was met with rude, curt, and insulting responses. The phone call was recorded by the location, so that will provide evidence of whether I am telling the truth about the reps attitude and lack of respect towards me.BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU RENT A TRUCK AT THIS LOCATION. INSPECT EVERYTHING BEFORE YOU LEAVE AND HAVE THEM REMOVE EVERYTHING YOU HAD NOT RESERVED.

I reserved a self-storage climate control unit with U-Haul on February 1st. I kept the email confirmation and went by to make sure everything was in order so my roommate could begin moving their stuff into storage. After twenty minutes of waiting in line I showed them the email and asked how to go about getting access to the unit since I had never done this before. The man looked up everything and said I was nowhere in the system. I showed him the confirmation and everything that was needed and he said he was sorry, but there was nothing he could do. The manager came out and said that they have not had the climate control storage for over two months now. I told him I have had the unit reserved since February and received no notice that anything was changed. I even called two days ago checking to make sure and the lady said everything was fine. I asked them if they could help me out because I had to find somewhere to put the items because I have to be moved out by noon tomorrow and cannot move into my new place until August 15. They said they could not help me and turned me away. I will never use the company of U-Haul again. There was only one storage unit available in the city of Auburn, and it was at Uncle Bobs storage. The only reason they had it available was because someone cancelled an hour before I called. Thank goodness for that.
I rented a 26 truck today. You double billed my credit card. I should have known that you were a disreputable business when Michael asked me for my credit card without quoting me a price. Since you are a monopoly I guess you think that people will pay any amount of money to rent a truck.He then quoted me a price which I agreed to. I found out when I picked up the truck that he conveniently failed to tell me that there is a hidden fee of $0.99 a mile. WOW, now you have added $80 in hidden fees.I started to cancel the reservation but then I remembered that you are the only place that rents moving equipment. I had to move so I was stuck with the extortion.Since you are greedy bastards, you decide to go ahead and stick it to me. You double billed my credit card to make up for the frustration of dealing with an unhappy customer.Rest assured that this isnt the end of the case. I will contact my credit card company and I will make sure that all of the milage charge is reversed as well as the double billing. When you quote a price, you must honor it.
I had reserved a truck a month in advance, only to have it redirected from this location to another 45 minutes away the day before my move. They claim they were “overbooked”, even though they confirmed the reservation to me over the phone earlier in the week, and was not updated online until after the email. Calling the office takes you to their call center, where you either get someone that is willing to help or someone that hangs up on you. I would not recommend bringing your business here, as the overall experience was unprofessional, sloppy, and infuriating.
I use this place frequently to get trailers for hauling things. They usually have the trailers I need, and they are usually quick to get me in and out. I have been to other uhaul centers who are not helpful at all, so it is refreshing to go here.
Staff doesnt know squat about their products. The lady on the phone said i would need to buy transmission fluid for my trailer hitch. Recommend a different dealer.

Went into store to get wiring for my trailer hitch. After about 30 mins and no employees in the store to help the 5-7 people that had accumulated behind me in line. When the guy came back out to help me he said I must talk to installation tech. When the tech came out bout 10 mins later he proceeds to tell me that I cant make a reservation in the store I had to do it on-line.(just to get me out if store I think). After calling customer care they told me this was absurd u must make appointment in store. So long story short their a bunch of lazy people that wanna do nothing. They also told me that it would take an hour, but the service rep on phone said 4 hours and would be $210.00 plus parts and wire. Called CTU(CUSTOM TRUCKS UNLIMITED) RIGHT up the street and they install for $125.00 parts and all. Never ever using these morons again. And the tech should be reprimanded for lying to customer to get out of work! Never going back. Customer service goes along way and they have None!

Made a reservation for a uhaul truck and they did not honor it. Then after I called them out for there wrong doing they took no blame. At least if you are going to not honor a reservation own up to it.

They said I had a truck (I reserved 3 weeks in advance), then they changed the size I was set to pick up, upped the rate, then said they didnt have a truck. Do not waste your time.
The hitch was carelessly done and the wire was torn. It has been only a week and I didnt even get to use it once. Very disappointing and time consuming that it need to get fixed.
If you want to move in town or out of town or even out of state they have a plan for you. Ask about there one way drop off

Employees argued with us that a 2013 f150 (with an 8000lb uhaul installed tow package) weighed less than 3000 lbs.
