Absolutely great experience here at Arboretum Vision Care. First time going yesterday, both Alyssa’s helped get me through paperwork and such quick, observing safety with all this COVID craziness as well. I was talked through and explained what every machine was measuring and testing and I now have a better idea of what’s going on! Dr. Patel was a great guy, very personable and very easy to understand when he further explained things like retinal photos and such. Very quick overall, felt right at home, didn’t mind spending money on some pricier frames since I knew I’d be taken care of. Great staff, will be back!

We have known Dr. Kennedy for many years and she is not only an excellent optometrist but a wonderful and kind person. The staff is extremely helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Its always a pleasant experience at Arboretum Vision Care. Theyre great.

My initial experience was absolutely good. I thought that I had finally found an honest place to take care of my eyes. I was offered a plan that included contact lenses, as a plan with them, and I thought it was good enough for me. But the contact lenses they sent me werent right for my eyes. Unfortunately, it was difficult for me to wear it, so I decided to exchange them for another brand of contact lenses using the warranty I had on it. They were nice and since it was a fitting issue, they told me that I didnt have to pay for this, I just had to go back to see the doctor and change the lenses once I had tried the new lenses. He assumed all treatment was covered by my insurance, period. I have been wearing the new lenses and it has been perfect for my eyes. But, it took almost two months for them to give me an answer about my new contact lenses. I needed to finally call them to find out what is definitely the worst response for a customer. Two months later they sent me this message: “Hello Adolfo. This is Arboretum Vision Care. We test the Aetna ID number you provided. Unfortunately, we were unable to locate vision coverage with that identification number. Check with your HR person at work and find out if she has a separate vision plan. We hope to hear from you soon ”. I didnt understand until I found out that I was using new insurance because I have a new job, but I guess it was already paid! And they texted me: “Mr. Prieto, The first boxes of glasses that you said were burned and you couldnt see properly were returned by you. Your Eyemed insurance company did NOT pay us for the lenses you returned. As I said, you have no credit on your account if you need contacts, then you would have to pay for them out of pocket. Maybe you have a different concept of insurance game, but if you have made an appointment on October 2, 2020, and this query was charged to the insurer on time, how can you say that you were unable to process the contact lens change after due my insurance did not pay the return? By the way, I still use the same contact lens sample that they offered me to exchange because they said they would send me the new boxes after a month to make sure it was the best for my eyes. I am very disappointed and just need to clarify what responsibility I have with the entire underwriting process. I asked the person who texted me to remove me from the customer list. From now on, I just want to know why I have to pay for other responsibilities that directly affect me as a customer and as a patient. I wish you had a logical answer to tell me that I have to pay for them out of pocket. Expression that I found out of context and rude. I am so sorry to the rest of the team who were always friendly and patient, but there are customer service rules and that was broken with me.

Initial experience was fine. However I never received a physical copy of my prescription and my attempts to get one from them has been frustrating to say the least. They will only text you a copy, they claimed to have sent it twice yet my phone never received anything. They claimed it was my carrier(Verizon) despite the fact that they were able to text back and forth with me. Never had such trouble trying to get my own prescription.

Catherine Kennedy is wonderful. I have been a patient for over 20 years. I stayed with this optometrist even after I moved to South Austin. On a professional level, she has consistently gotten my prescription right. Her office does the testing necessary to verify my eye health and I leave each appointment with confidence in her findings. On a personal level, she is a really nice person who is easy to talk to. She is the kind of person you would want as a next door neighbor. I highly recommend her.

These people are awesome. The arm of my glasses broke. I brought them in and they offered to glue them and ordered a new frame under warranty.

My daughter goes to boarding school in the Austin area, so we are only able to do appointments like vision on weekends when we visit from out of town. Not only did they administer her eye exam and determine her prescription, but we left with the glasses the same day! The staff was amazing - so super nice and accommodating. Been going here for years. Professional and thorough. I have since moved an hour away but still go back annually.

So I came in around late December to have my eye exam done. Dr. Kennedy is the nicest person Ive even been to. Came back after Christmas to place an order on my glasses. I knew with the holidays to expect my glasses later than usual, which was fine. Turns out UPS lost my frames and there was a bit of miscommunication, so I was going to be getting my glasses much later than I was expecting. Ill admit it upset me because I didnt get notified about the lost frames until I had called in for them, but Dr. Kennedy called me personally to let me know exactly what was going on and what they were doing to get my glasses. For the owner to call you personally to follow up about a poor review that someone leaves speaks volumes that she truly does care about her clients and that they are given the best service possible. I changed my review to a 5 because it was well deserved and the least I can do to thank this location.

Patrick Serafine has provided excellent evaluation and discussion of my astigmatism and monocular contact lens correction needs for 23 years. Hes extremely patient as I vacillate over which view looks best and provides a trial lens after deciding upon the best solution to confirm its right. I wouldnt trust my eyes to anyone else.

Great experience! The team got me in and out in record time. Dr. Serafine was very nice and easy to talk to, and I would absolutely recommend him and this eye care company!

Catherine and her staff have been very professional, and Im very appreciative. Im a difficult fit for contacts, but absolutely need them. I cannot wear glasses comfortably because they can produce dizziness. Catherine took the time to find the right fit in the contacts, and its made a world of difference!

I have been seeing Dr Serafine for 23 years. I now have to drive 25mi across town to see him but hes worth it! I also have had really good experiences with both Terry and John with varying sets of eye glasses over the years. I also love the fact that every year I go to Arboretum Vision Care, I see the same faces.

Everyone there was very nice. When i didn’t have the money to pay for my eye exam the day i took my daughter. And i thought i would have to schedule for the following weekend they went ahead and saw me and i paid the following week. Have a great customer service skills and make you feel right at home. And Dr Catherine Kennedy is wonderful and very patient with you not rushing you. She answers every question you have.

Where has Dr. Kennedy been all my life? This office is amazing! Dr. Kennedy was very helpful and Knowledgeable. My wife and I and I had a great experience. I brought in my 12 month old and the entire staff was very sweet to him.

A MUST place to visit in Austin if you have a problem with your eye wears. Very VERY friendly staff who repaired a broken frame of mine in minutes and had a very friendly attitude. Great collection of eye wears and great Ophthalmologists in work there. I am very impressed by their service and would be going there for all of my Eye problems here on, I PROMISE.

I dont like being pushed to pay for something I dont want. I wear contact lenses for years so I just needed a prescription because I moved to US from foreign country. I clearly told them the reason of the appointment. When I came in they told me they want to do an examination of my retina and that I either have to pay for some special machine or they will put the drops which cause blured vision for several hours so I wont be able to drive. Why they cant advice in their several reminders emails and texts they sent me before the appointment, to arrange somebody to drive you home if you want to avoid extra cost?

Theyve been doing my eye exams and supplying my glasses for years, they have a great staff & great fashionable glasses. I feel very confident in their eye exams and the glasses I receive are always top notch. I am very pleased.

I would never recommend this optometrist. Their only concern is up-selling the patient and the optometrist was not the least bit useful. She had no recommendation for me at the end of my visit. Waste of time and money. I had a more personalized experience in South Austin at Look + See Vision Care. Trust me it is worth the drive!

I have had my eyes checked and glasses done in several places in Austin. You will be hard pressed to find any other business that treat has their great customer service. The optometrist took his time to get to know how I use my glasses and suggested ways to be able to keep my eyes healthy. He even took the time to tell the optician about my discomfort with my glasses which tend to dig on my ears. The opticians take their time to show you all the options you have in regards to frames, lenses, and coating. They know the benefits of each and explain why it would be beneficial. In general their staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.I would recommend them to anybody without hesitation.

I am very pleased with the my experience at Arboretum Vision Care this week. My eyes were burning to the degree I couldnt drive. I came in to the office via taxi and was anxious about the symptoms, but the staff and doctor were great. She determined I needed a specialist and one of their staff actually drove me to the specialists office. It turns out it was just a bad reaction to the cedar pollen in the area and I can see again. They are continuing to harass me about a bill that would be paid by my insurance if they were just smart enough to fill out the correct forms. Their service was just OK and they tried to sell me every extra they could come up with. I would not do business with this company again.

I was unimpressed with the service at Arboretum Vision Care. When I got to the office initially, the person who handles glasses purchases, Jean, was using the computer for personal business. When I was ready to pick glasses, his brusque manner made it clear that I was disturbing him and he spoke the bare minimum to me. Before I left the building, he was back watching soccer videos and looking up boxing stats online. When my glasses came in, I tired them on and immediately knew something was wrong. The suggestion of the person fitting me was to take them home and see how I did. I had to spend about 10 minutes convincing him that there was something wrong with the glasses. Finally he relented and agreed to test the glasses and my eyes again. Again he made it seem like it he wanted to get done with me as soon as possible and several times tired to convince me that I could just keep the glasses, even though they made me dizzy and I couldnt wear them. After the glasses were finally adjusted and I was rushed out the door, the glasses were still wrong and I sent them back. I have been wearing glasses for more than 20 years and have never had these kind of problems with new glasses. Even though the staff tired to convince me otherwise, its clear there was a mistake made with these glasses. However, the staff was so rude, unhelpful, and rushed, the problem could not be identified. With all of the options in the area, there is no reason I can see to be treated like a nuisance when purchasing glasses. The optometrists were very friendly and helpful, but I would never purchase glasses from there again.
