Excellent selection of stylish frames! I’ve gotten three pairs of reading glasses and one pair of sunglasses from King and Rose, and all have held up great over years of use. Had a great experience! I came in for eye strain and not only do my new glasses help with eyestrain, they were the easiest pair of glasses Ive ever gotten. What typically takes me over an hour, took 10 minutes with their help and I love the glasses we picked.

I don’t get too excited about eye exams; it is normally an annual chore. I had put off my exams because of the pandemic, so it had been a while since my last checkup. I walked up to King & Rose and was immediately impressed by the aesthetic in the front showroom. I felt like I could rock any of the frames in the store.After a quick check-in process, I was in back for my exam. Dr Liz is so nice, personable, and educated me on what we were looking at and what she saw. The machines used to do the normal eye diagnostics were cutting edge; I had never used that equipment before. Pretty cool. No more air shots to the eyes, y’all!!I was fitted for a new type of contacts; and I have really enjoyed them so far. I am lot more happy with them vs my old type of contact. I am actually save a little by upgrading too; which is awesome.Roland curated some really great looks; we have a follow up appointment to pick out the best frames. I’m pumped.Such a great experience all-around!!K&R will be our new place moving forward for all of our optical needs. 🙏🏽🙌🏽🤓

This local optical shop is everything one could want from a small business in Austin: friendly, attentive, well-priced, convenient parking AND with a varied selection of interesting eyewear- both in style (classic to funky designs) and pricing! Im an eyewear enthusiast and have purchased frames from 4 different shops in Austin. I went to K&R expecting to buy one frame and wound-up purchasing 3 exquisite pieces over the past few weeks- 2 from their in-store selection and 1 that has been ordered for me. K&R frames and lens prices beat the pricing of comparable-quality, luxury eyewear frames and lenses at the 4 other local optical shops- I couldnt resist! Roland, as all reviews mention, is exceptional- relaxed yet efficient, detailed and honest. He introduced me to Niloca Eyewear from Australia; K&R are the only local stockists of Rigards, one of my favorite eyewear designers by the young, innovative designer Ti Kwa (who crafts frames with sustainable materials). I love the acetate Niloca frames and the carved buffalo horn Rigards frames I purchased- and know I will love my copper Rigards when they arrive. Start to finish, King & Rose has been a pleasure~

Roland was incredible - great, thoughtful, and patient service, and went above and beyond when I lost my glasses and needed progressive lens glasses ASAP. He stayed on the phone for over an hour reaching out to multiple labs to find the fastest option for me, found in stock lenses that would expedite the turn around, and called me the minute they came in after I’d spent a few days stumbling around like Velma. Huge props and thanks to Roland!And maybe I should’ve led with the fact that the selection of frames is really well edited - not the biggest selection but really tasteful and stylish options for a range of personal taste.

I went for the first time a couple of weeks ago and the attention was fantastic. Everyone at this business was very nice and attentive, answering my questions and conversing politely. The doctor was very knowledgable and amiable, he explained every step of the check-up and talked to me clearly about the changes to my prescription. The optician was also very nice, he explained the details of my insurance coverage very clearly and talked to me about my options in a very honest manner. I placed an order for contact lenses and later, at home, I discovered a small mistake in the shipping address; I contacted them and the issue was solved quickly. I would definitely recommend King and Rose.

I had an excellent experience at King & Rose Optical. I received a response almost immediately after inquiring about the cost of an eye exam. Roland went above and beyond to meet my needs. He is clearly an expert in this field! At first the estimate for my new glasses was about 2 weeks due to COVID, which was no problem, but they ended up being ready within a week! Overall, extremely happy with my experience.

Hands down my favorite glasses shop. Whether or not independent designers are your thing (90+% of glasses are made by a Luxottica company), this is a BETTER experience. In the past I picked out the frames I liked from a wall and usually bought them, whether of not they fit me well and looked good on my face. Here, Roland will select a range of frames that he thinks suit your face shape, ranging from normal to BOLD. They all look great, are excellent quality product, and you end up loving them a lot more than what youve picked yourself in the past. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed; well worth it.

The eye doctor is amazing, state of the art equipment, if youre still getting your eyes dilated, you need to go see him. And Roland, from the frame store is a super frame expert. When I walked out of my eye exam, he had preselected the frames that would fit well on my face just from having seen me walk in! Everyone super nice and courteous and my insurance plan was covered here and really helped with the prices! Their frame selections are hip and current. Highly recommend it!

Amazing experience here! This place is trendy and adorable, but with amazing and comfortable service.I stumbled upon this gem looking for a provider with my insurance. My experience was more than top notch! I went for an eye exam and hadn’t been in a few years since I’ve always had 20/20 vision. More recently, blue light has affected my eyes. Dr. Provost was so warm and welcoming - he was very thorough and informative in our appointment. He explained the process and even uncovered I had an astigmatism.Bonus: Roland is fantastic with knowledge and helping you pick out glasses - they have an amazing brand of optical glasses (Krewe) that I’m obsessed with for sunglasses! So, while having an astigmatism isn’t my favorite, having cute and trendy glasses made it way more fun of an experience!I’ve recommended them to family and friends & I will most definitely continue to be a patient here for years to come!

Roland has amazing taste and helped me pick out nice frames that fit my face during my exam so that they would be ready by the time I was done. It was a super streamlined process and Dr. Provost even gave me a free trial of the new opto map machine so that I wouldnt have to get my eyes dilated.

King and Rose has such a great and DIFFERENT selection that you cant find at other stores. You have to visit to fully appreciate it. Dr. Provost helped the first day narrow it down to a few but it was with Roland on another trip where I finally decided. I knew him from another optical shop a while back and am so glad I ran across him at K&R. As soon as he weighed in on my choices, I was done. I love the sunglasses I bought in no small part to the selection but HIM as well!!!

I was fit in a digital lens by Bryan, he said with my high prescription it would be the best option for day to day wear.Ive always worn contact lenses because I couldnt stand the blur that glasses caused when I moved my head. I only wore them at night after wearing my contact lenses.When I put on my new glasses it was an amazing. The vision was better than my contact lenses which Ive never experienced before. It was worth every penny. The service, selection, and knowledge of glasses was great. I highly recommend anyone to King and Rose.

I came across King & Rose by way of my insurance company and was I SO surprised not only by the shop itself, but by the staff. Needless to say, I was expecting another one hour turn-around type of place and that is definitely NOT the case! The shop is absolutely beautiful - you almost feel like your walking into an eye-ware art gallery with how they have the frames displayed. They also offer some very unique custom-made, one of a kind frames - such as frames made out of vinyl records or bone! They seriously have some super cool frames! Brian is the most knowledgeable eye-ware person I have ever experienced. He is friendly, personable and gives you his undivided attention, which I genuinely appreciate. Oh, they offer you a Topo Chico while your trying to decide on which piece of art-ware youre going to be showing off! You actually receive a phone call when your glasses are ready and you get a delicious piece of chocolate when pick them up! YUM! I have been wearing glasses for more then 25 years and I have never been treated as well as the staff at King and Rose treated me and I absolutely love their many different frame options! Dr. Provost solved an eye problem which I have been dealing with for three years. I can see so clearly with my new digital lenses. It is like having a picture window attached to your face! Roland, the optician, is a magician in coming up with just the right frames. I asked for a third option when I was having difficulty deciding between two frames and he came up with the perfect “third way”. They choose their frames with great care and provide a very eclectic mix of frames. I am sure that your perfect frame is waiting for you.

While the exam was going (which was thorough and really helpful), Roland pulled a few off the shelves he thought I might like, and I liked one pair so much I had to get them. What a great experience with getting new glasses! Nice, intimate setting with highly fashionable frames to choose from. They basically held my hand and walked me through all the pros and cons of what would fit my face and lifestyle the best. I felt a little spoiled which Im not used to, but what a refreshing change of pace :) I am typically hard to please and King and Rose has certainly won me over. I put off making an appointment for a long time (well over a year), because I moved and didnt have the time to get back home for an appointment with my previous doctor.I met Brian and told him I loved his glasses. We talked about the typical eye wear you would find and what you would find at King and Rose. A few months later I was about to travel and needed new eyewear asap, so I decided to check them out. This turned out to be one of the best decisions Ive ever made!King and Rose has some of the most unique and beautiful eyewear I have ever seen. When I asked about specific glasses, I was told everything about them. Brian and Dr. Provost are not the typical type of people that you would meet at the optometrist. I had lasiks many moons ago but have been “slipping” for awhile. I called to make an appointment not understanding my vision plan (hadn’t needed it) and spoke with Roland. He quickly walked me through my benefits and got me scheduled during my lunch break, promising I’d be done with my eye exam in less than 15mins... (I’m a new mom and not wanting to bring my little one out until a few more months pass). Roland greeted me as I walked into the office and made me feel very comfortable. He escorted me to the exam room and told me there would be a selection of frames waiting after the exam. Dr. Provost was informative and a true professional. He helped me understand why my eyes had failed after lasiks. When I returned to the showroom Roland had several styles for me to try on. For me this was perfect- our conversation before the appointment was enough for him to grasp my vibe and it took the long tedious process of trying on frame after frame only to be unsure. He encouraged me to pick the “fun” style and bam one week later I am receiving compliments on my eye wear. I have to give K&R (shout out Roland!) all the credit each time people mention my new glasses. Thanks gentlemen. It was so fun and easy working with you!
