Dr. Tam was great! Very pleasant and jovial. He makes you feel relaxed and he answered my several questions.

Theyre open during the pandemic, taking great care to provide a safe, clean environment. Thank goodness!! Dr. Collin Tam has been taking care of my eyes for several years now, and has been very attentive to changes over time to my vision and family history, with thorough but gentle, no stress exams and advice. Optician Jana has helped me choose several gorgeous frames that hold my lenses and fit my personality, face, and lifestyle. She really knows the product inside out - including how and where most of their lines are produced! That plus her experience makes it so much easier to choose a pair of frames Im going to love wearing. At every visit, they make me feel like their only priority. (Doubly so during COVID times.) Location couldnt be better, with free parking right in front. They carry a beautiful, artfully curated selection of frames in a range of prices. You wont find cheap frames here, but their prices are competitive with similar local eyewear boutiques, including one nearby that is known for its selection. Spectacle has the selection plus amazing professionals in Collin and Jana: people I look forward to visiting with each annual appointment. Oh, one last recommendation: I used to live *literally next door.* Now Ive moved several miles away, but I cant imagine switching to another provider. Just call em up.

I never write reviews, ever. i am the type of person to read a 100 reviews before going somewhere but since there is only 1 review and it is 2 years old I deiced to write one.I went into his office yesterday on 01/14/2020 at 5:30PM right before they were about to close the reason was because I had some debris in my eye that i could not get out for the last 24 hours it was bothering me bad. I asked if I could see him. He was right there at the front desk and agreed to see right then and there. When we went into the office he asked me bunch of questions to get to know the situation better he even gave me a model of the eye so i could point where the pain was. He actually sat down with me to understand where the pain was coming from. He then proceed to fish it out and he got it out. i had bums on the inside of my eye lid but thats was my body reacting to the debris that was in my eye it went away the next morning with sleep. Doctor Tam is a really good Doc. The doctor office is nice and clean as well. the lady at the front desk is also really nice. I would recommend this eye doctor to anyone.

Ive been a customer on and off for a few years. I called and was able to book an appointment the next day. The Dr. did a great job and never rushed me through the exam. They have a great selection of frames. The person at the front desk helped me narrow down the choice too. The only issue I had was being charged for and received blue light protection on my lenses when I did not ask for it. I let the office know and they ordered me the correct pair right away. Overall I would return again.

The staff at Spectacle Eye Design are extremely helpful, knowledgeable about eye ware, and willing to share their extensive knowledge. The selection of glasses is wonderful and very current. I have so much fun buying glasses now! A whole new world of beauty and self-appreciation has opened up for me as a result of their support and assistance. I highly recommend these professionals. I got a thorough and accurate exam from Collin.That was just the first instance of Spectacles attention to detail.I have astigmatism and the correction in my right eye has to line up properly or I get severe headaches. Cheaper optical houses did not account for the fact that one of my ears is a bit lower, meaning the frames tilted a bit, resulting in headaches and dissatisfaction on my part.Spectacle balanced the frames and the lenses ahead if time. The correction on my two frames with them has always been perfect, right out of the box.They also feature a wide selection of stylish and durable frames. I currently wear a pair of Dita frames. Theyve earned me complements the entire time Ive worn them. Theyre also lightweight and highly durable. I was in a car accident a few months ago and my airbag blasted the frames off my face.I was sure they had broken but I found the specs intact - and unbent! - in the back seat. I slipped them on and moved on with my business.Spectacle gets it right, all of it, from the get. The correction, the frames, and the fit. Thats why they keep my business.

Im new to wearing glasses and was a bit nervous about having an eye exam, but Dr. Tam made me feel at ease and was professional and extremely thorough. Spectacle has so many beautiful frames to choose from that I had a hard time making up my mind, but Dr. Tam and his staff patiently assisted me in selecting a style thats just right for me.

I had a great experience at Dr. Tams clinic with up to date technology, knowledge, skill, and friendly atmosphere. My appointment was fast and Dr. Tam was very attentive to my hypersensitivity to light. They also made sure I protected my eyes from the harmful UV rays on my way out, even though I thought it was overcast enough that morning. Thank you for going the extra steps.

Dr. Tam and provided great service for my exam when it was time to get some progressive lenses. They helped me pick a great pair of frames that gave me a new look I really like. A few months later when I managed to scratch the lenses, they handled the warranty claim and got me replacement lenses quickly and with no hassle.

I needed an eye exam, as I was out of contacts and found this little gem of an office close to home. No problems with making an appointment and getting in the time that worked for me.I was greeted promptly by Jana with one of the biggest smiles around.After all the pretesting, I was taken into the room where I was greeted by Dr. Tam. What a professional! I received a very thorough exam and was even told I had been over minused for many years. It made a lot of sense due to my age and viewing issues I started having.Their optical is in pristine condition and their frame assortment is to die for. I am currently not in the market for new eyeglasses, but if I were, Id go there.Ill definitely recommend my friends and family who are searching for a great doctor and staff.

Dr. Tam has been my optometrist for over ten years. Always very kind, through and polite. His office is beautiful, well stocked with frames, and very welcoming. The staff is so nice and very helpful. Theres a reason I trust my eyes with this guy!

Im 47 years old and have never had glasses before. Nervous and anxious about the whole process... I scheduled an eye exam for both myself and my daughter after hearing several people brag about how well Dr. Tam took care of them. I was pleased with the entire experience. The staff and Dr. Tam were very pleasant and there was no pressure to buy expensive eyewear. Options were presented to us... my daughter was actually excited picking out her own Calvin Klein frames! Dr. Tam is professional, patient and cares about his customers. I have used him, and I have taken my two teenage kids to him as well, and all of us have gotten great service and top-notch, skilled eye care. Several friends of mine have used him and gotten glasses and contacts from him as well, and they all agree. I would recommend Dr. Tam and Spectacle Eye Design without hesitation to all my friends.

If I could rate this place a zero, I would. I never write reviews but this was the worst experience I have ever had, so I felt I had to share this experience. My daughter went in to get an eye exam and contacts. She is in school in Austin and I am in the DFW area. The receptionist was beyond rude and unhelpful to my daughter in person and myself over the phone. I told her that I was sorry if there was any miscommunication or misunderstanding with my insurance, but I have never had trouble with it before. She said it is a HUGE mistake. The insurance is fine as I was on the phone with them too. My insurance was so sorry that these people were having a hard time with it and offered to call them directly. This receptionist was so rude and unprofessional that we wont ever do business there again and will tell anyone through social media to steer clear of this business. You should be ashamed of your behavior.

This is a nice place. I have a some what rare eye disorder called Strabismus. Most optometrists dont really know what it is but Dr. Tam does. Whenever I get glasses its kind of an ordeal because the eye crosses. I had to go to Dr. Tam multiple times to get things right. Its just how it goes. He didnt charge me anything extra, or treat me any differently. The staff is friendly and its an all around great place.

Dr Tam is great, tho his exams are double, almost triple the cost, than many other optometrists in the Austin area. I have No vision insurance & require strong prescription lenses. With exam, 1 pair accuvue contacts & ordered A beautiful Vera Wang Nadaj frame with plain carbon lenses. My total bill was $965.00 for as it turned out, horrible quality eyeglasses. 2-3 months later, my very expensive lenses were scratched. I took them back to the office to complain about the poor quality, the office manager treated me like it was my fault. I told her I have worn glasses almost all my life, over 35 years and have never had this problem, even as a child. She reluctantly said they were under warranty and she would order me new lenses. About 2wks later, I called & she told me oh sorry, someone must have forgotten to order them, she would do it immediately. They should be here in 3 days. A wk later I got them. 4-5 months later. The $400 metal frames were separating at the top. She said that had never happened before, she would order new frames, when they came in, I watched her change them, I saw her hand slip. She said she would clean and refit them for me. When she handed them back to me and said There you go, bye now and walked away.When I put them on there was a deep scratch on the left lens. She had slipped with the tool she was using, and tried to tell me that it was already there. I made her order me new ones, again.. So, a week later I had brand new lenses and frames. 3-4 months later. I had torn one contact lens I had ordered new ones, online and they werent in yet. My contact lens prescription was still good for another 5 months, so I went to ask for one replacement lens. She asked if I ordered my lenses from them when I said no I got them cheaper elsewhere, She told me I would have to see Dr Tam to get a new contact, and it would cost another $65. I told her that she was ridiculous. She said that she was sorry and there was nothing she could do. I will never go back to them. Since then I have had to replace the frames 2 times because of the same problem, I love them, they are beautiful and I get alot of compliments on them. But, I ordered the exact $400 frames myself online for less than $100.

This place charged me $350 for a pair. When I got the glasses, I asked if they should adjust it. They said no. Two months later, the glasses fell apart. The repairman said the frame is the wrong size for my head. Ive been scammed!
