Cheryl and Dr. Janet Lindsey are amazing!!! My mom has seen both for over 20 years and we will be coming here until they retire. The ONLY issue we have ever had was sometimes experiencing long waits, but they have improved on that and it is SO appreciated. Dr. Lindsey took my concerns seriously and diagnosed me with some issues that people my age usually do not have. No one else would take me seriously, but she listened and found my issue.

I have been a patient of Dr. Gary Rylander for many years. He is kind, very careful, detail oriented and knowledgeable. All I could ask for in a physician. I have seen other physicians in the practice over the years and each one has been excellent. Most recently, I had a eye emergency (very painful) over the weekend, and Dr. Lori Murphys care went above and beyond what I expected. She is caring and careful physician.

Been going to Dr. McKinley for five years and with each visit I am more impressed, blessed by the quality of care from him and from his support staff and his office staff. They are warm, caring and professional in every way. Especially now in this pandemic of Covid-19, they have gone above and beyond all my expectations in such a good way. Highly recommend them.

Doctor Ross is a great Ophtalmologist, but the lady at the front desk (the one who is bilingual) needs to be more professional. I arrived at 9:00 am, I filled my paperwork on time, my consultation was at 9:30 am, but this lady lost the folder with my information. At 10:00 am, I asked what was the reason for the delay, and, at this point, she started to look for my folder. I could see the Doctor until 10:50 am.

Don’t trust them - they will steal your money!!! Called and asked for a routine eye exam. After they booked an appointment and did the exam they claimed they are only doctors so they won’t code the eye exam as preventative and charged me hundreds of dollars for something that should be 100% covered by my insurance. Such a rip off. Billing department is a joke. Lady claimed the front desk didnt know what they were booking appointments for so wouldn’t know that they don’t do routine eye exams. They should be barred from doing business.

I have recently started wearing contacts. I met with Cheryl and she was amazing. She took the time to help me get the right brand and strength for each eye. She let me try different ones until we found the right fit. She even helped me with rebates that were offered. It was so nice to know there are still folks out there that provide great customer service. Eye Institute is lucky to have someone as awesome as her!!!

I never scheduled an appointment after talking to the staff that would not answer a question about a procedure I needed. That was rude and decided to go to a different doctor.

My experience over the last ten years has been positive.The physicians are terrific. The office staff is competent.However, it is not always easy to deal with those who answerthe phone. I think all medical providers have a similar problem.My cataract surgery was completed by Dr. Todd Smith without a hitch.There were no problems until I tried to get a new pair of reading glasses.The first person I talked to said they were not approved by medicare or my insurance co.to provide new glasses at no cost. I checked with 6 other vendorsand they all gave me the same song and dance. They were all onthe list Humana sent me. However, none of them knew how tofulfill a post surgery prescription without adding on about $150 in charges..I went back to the Eye Institute and explained my problem. This timethe person in change of the retail operation got on the Internet andfound a way to supply the new lenses at no charge.I appreciate the initiative taken by the Eye Institute to find a solutionto my problem. They were the only vendor willing to spend an extra15 min to find a satisfactory answer.I am very satisfied with my new reading glasses.

Best office ever. Six years ago Dr. Janet Lindsey basically saved my life by detecting dangerous symptoms through vision tests (which turned out to be cancer). Glad to still be alive today, and I can’t thank Dr. Lindsey enough for it!

Quite terrible service and rude people in the front desk. This place is open as a bait just to trap people into spending money for their service with no quality diagnostics and results. They made me do unnecessary test and diagnostics, more than what my insurance supports and needed for a very simple issue. I have a very good insurance plan and I was told everything should be covered by the insurance at first but later on they will keep sending you bills for the test they performed and call you bullying and demanding for money. Worst quality service and most importantly no respect and professionalism toward the customers. You will never have mine or anyone that I know of business again.

The office staff is very courteous and helpful especially to seniors. They are also willing to work with you to establish payment Arrangements if necessary. They are always very prompt in ordering my replacement contacts.

I am a chiropractor and a researcher. So as you read this review, you should know that 30 years ago I chose to fly to Bogotá, Columbia to have Jose Barrequer perform radial keratotomy (pre-lasik) On my eyes because he was the father and founder of the procedure. I had 2020 vision for 22 years before I started going farsighted. Now 10 years after needing to wear glasses again, I decided to do a reflective lens exchange, which is exactly the same procedure as a cataract surgery, but what they call it when you are not doing it for cataracts, but rather for vision optimization.I have consultations with a total of six ophthalmologist. The first three all had completely different opinions and approaches. The fourth was with Dr. McKinley at eye Institute of Austin. He successfully performed cataract surgery on my mother and has taken care of my uncle for years. He very quickly told me that “he was not my guy“, but that Jason Feuerman also at his office, was. Dr. McKinley spent 45 minutes with me and told me that he would not charge me; we would just consider this a discussion. I scheduled, and then canceled an appointment with Dr. Feuerman; I had decided that the famous doctor was probably the one I wanted.Stephen Dell, the 5th ophthalmologist, I liked and agreed with what he had to say; He was smart and thorough. I asked Dr. Dell who else he would recommend I speak with and he recommended Shannon Wong for another opinion. Dr. Wong agreed with Dr. Dell on which procedure, but his protocols were slightly different and though he capitulated, he did not feel my eyes needed to be evaluated at different times during the day prior to surgery.. After booking surgery with Dr. Dell, I decided on a final consult with Dr. Feuerman after all, really just to confirm that Dr Dell was the right option. He concurred with Dell’s assessment and options, but went several steps further in recommending that I have repeated tests at different times of the day to accurately assess the variances in my vision throughout the day to allow him to select the best possible lens strength He also read the reports from all the other ophthalmologist so we had around eight sets of measurements to compare. I was impressed with his knowledge and attitude as well as explanations. The right lens was replaced exactly 2 weeks ago. It was very strange to you have one close to perfect eye and one pretty terrible one. The second lens replacement was done this morning.I am writing this on my iPhone, with no glasses, 15 hours after surgery. I am aware that the left eye is not even close to finished healing. It still feels a little bit gritty and like there are butterflies in it. This is exactly how the right one felt initially. But this one seems to be healing even more quickly than the first.I cannot say enough positive things about this office, their staff, and the two doctors with whom I had extensive consults. For a typical cataract surgery, six different ophthalmologists might be excessive. But because I had eyes that were operated on in the past, and they demonstrate unusually distorted corneas, finding the right surgeon was essential. I am and grateful to have returned to this office, and I hope to be filled with gratitude for the next 50 years.The procedures were not at all difficult and the recovery is easier and quicker than from a pulled hamstring. I am so glad that I chose Dr. Feuerman, and it’s just a nice bonus that the price tag was $11,000 less than Dr. Dell’s. And that is for the exact same lens! I found myself repeatedly being concerned how they would generate enough revenue given The significant amount of time they invested and will continue to invest over the next week, in ensuring this procedure was flawless.In closing, and as someone who hears Lasik stories almost daily from my own patients, I would encourage anyone considering LASIK to seriously consider a lens exchange instead. This has the possibility of being a permanent solution and removing a lens that is not already a hardened cataract is easier.

AWFUL!!!!! The waiting is rediculous! Theyre system is awful. Waited 20 minutes just go to some tiny room, then waited another 30 minutes in a separate room, then waited 10 minutes to see a doctor!! INSANE!!! DO NOT recommend this place to anyone! Dont go here unless you enjoy sitting around waiting an hour just to be seen by a doctor. Never coming back!

Actual appointment was fine but it is proving impossible to get ahold of the contacts department and get a simple prescription. The whole reason I didnt get one to begin with is because the contact lady insisted I try something other than my true blue brand of Acuvue 2. The contacts she pushed on me? $60 and $100 a box. Ridiculous. Dont go here when there are so many other options. Once I finally get my prescription - pray for me that its soon - I wont be going back.

Grateful for the Eye Institute of Austin. Yesterday morning I woke to unbareble pain in my left eye as well as it being completely blood shot. At the time I was in Arlington Texas and was set to present at a Physical Education Teacher professional development. I had to regretfully cancel thinking I had pink eye(contagious) and because of the overwhelming pain. Thank God my wife was with me. She called doctors offices in Alrington and back in Austin. By this time I could barely see out of my left eye. The Eye Institute of Austin was able to give me an appointment that day and my wife drove the three hours back to Austin for the appointment. The amazing doctors at Eye Institute of Austin put my pink eye worries at ease and performed a number of tests. Turns out I had an abression on my eye. They brought in multiple doctors as they were surprised that I had such an injury with out an accident or surgery. Without a cause it is still a mystery on why this has happened, but thanks to these doctors I am on the mend. In just the last day, my blurry vision is already clearing up and the constant splinter feeling in my eye is subsiding. Thank you to the skillful and knowledgeable doctors for restoring my vision.

Ive been having my annual appointments at Eye Institute since they started their group on West Anderson Lane. Dr. Gary Rylander did cataract surgeries for me, and the results couldnt have been better.[Technicians do some preliminary measurements to save the doctors time. It is not their business to diagnose or treat your problems. With that in mind, I have always gotten along well with them.]
