WONDERFUL SERVICE! Many times people are cranky & ready to go but the young ladies were patient as we decided on flavors. Informed me that I could sample flavors before making a choice & 4 of us got ice cream for about $20 so the price wasnt unreasonable.

I’ve always loved the Charmery, but this new location is great! It’s much larger than the Hampden location, and has quirky decorations, including a vintage rocket ship ride machine and bleachers to sit on. Their ice cream is always amazing, and their staff is friendly and helpful.

The home base for one of Baltimore’s best creameries. They have staple flavors- some standards and some crazy ones - like old bay caramel. They have trial flavors - some work (cornflakes & milk, ice cream sandwich) and some that are head scratchers - french fry ice cream? Uhh. Ok. LolThe lemon stick ice cream is a nod to a Baltimore staple. And it’s deliciousThey also have floats, sundaes, and pints to go. Yummm 🍨🍦🍧Love the Charmery!

Maryland mud! Ive been craving it for a couple years since my last visit to Baltimore. It was as good as I remembered the second time around. Its sweet and intense, so I recommend Maryland Mud as the top flavor of a two scoop waffle cone. We combined our ice cream outing with the free ice cream factory tour, which happens at 2pm and 3pm on Saturdays. To be completely honest its not a factory but the tour is still great. You get to see a very cold walk in freezer (dont linger in there) and the space where the magic happens. It looks like they have enough room in the factory to expand their operations ten fold and I have my fingers crossed hoping they do just that. The person who gave the tour was very knowledgeable and did a great job. The tour and ice cream are great inspirations for my home ice cream making ventures.

So The Charmery deserves 5 stars for the simple fact that they offer a product that is undisguised and true to its foundational ingredients. There is a sense of raw integrity and confidence that is expressed through its simplicity. I sample ice creams all over the country, searching for excellence and prestige. To judge fairly I compare only vanilla as it is the most stable choice for comparison. On the surface vanilla is a calm facade of redundant simplicity, only to have an ocean of subtle complexity teeming in its depths. Where some parlors use tricks and space age innovations to acquire the coveted 5 star rating, the Charmery lends its success to fundamentals done right. No guar gummy air injected chemistry here, just proper ingredients, the right ratios, and a pursuit for quality. Their vanilla has a remarkable taste of nostalgia that doesnt necessarily stem from any fact but rather the taste conjures what you might wish to think good old fashioned ice cream used to taste like. The reality though is this is probably much better than anything that was actually made many years ago. But the idea that this is what it ought to have tasted like is a lofty compliment. The milk is of great quality, the butterfat ratio is very well chosen. The molecular crystal size is very small and there doesnt seem to be anything added to give a fraudulent sense of how smooth it is texturally. Im not sure where they source the vanilla bean from but it has reasonably well rounded flavor and proportion. Now the next great thing about the charmery is that they are not scared of innovation when it comes to other flavors and to me thats really the biggest criteria on which I judge other flavors. The same back to basics quality of ingredients shines through in the other flavors but they really do try and offer experiences that you dont always find at other parlors. So it is for these well rounded and admirable reasons I give The Charmery 5 stars. And if you are serious about ice cream then youll already know that cost is of little to no concern in this league

A local favorite to get ice cream in the hampden area. During the summer or on hot days you can expect a small line to form because of how popular it is. My favorite flavor to get is the Maryland Mud which is one of the flavors they always have available. They always have some flavors that stay the same but others that are seasonal or change from time to time.

This was a fun experience. We went here for a 4 year olds birthday party. It was a fun experience for us and the kids. I think the favorite part aside from the ice cream and cake was walking through the freezer.

This ice cream was absolutely delicious. I got the malted vanilla chip, and the flavor was so addicting and well balanced, and seemed to keep a stong flavor throughout eating it without being overbearing or too sweet. The ice cream was perfectly soft and filled the cone to the bottom (without leaking!), so that last bite of cone was so heavenly. Will definitely eat again!

It can be difficult to find if your not familiar with the area. The address is 41st but you must enter and drive down a small road tobenter the business park. That said the ice cream is delicious with flavors exoitic and usual changing regularly. The options on sale are minimal . The decor is also minimal . Remember this is the factory location.

Not friendly to African Americans. I was once asked to show my ID, and no one else was asked to do so. A heated Caucasian lady, who was behind me in line overheard and asked me “ May I please say something to the staff on your behalf because that is not right, she did not ask for anyone else’s ID !“
