Prior to coming here the place i went to quoted me over $800 including labor to replace power steering fluid hoses saying I had two leaks. Not feeling confident in their recommendation i took my car to the car guy who assessed my car and found one leak not two and replaced the part needed for less than half the cost i was previously quoted. I am not super knowledgeable about cars and he walked me through step by step to show me what was going on and where. I was so impressed and happy to find a down to earth mechanic who genuinely wants you to have a safe car and not take advantage of any lack of knowledge a customer may have about their vehicle. Its been a few weeks and Ive not had any other leaks or concerns, I will definitely bring my car back if i ever need and 100% recommend!

The technicians here are very nice and helpful.The dealership told me I have oil leakage on my rear end, and wanted to charge me a hundred to diagnose (and thousands to repair). I came to the car guy to check it out, and it turned out to be just oil residual needing no repairs at all. Thanks you, the car guy!

Great place to get work done

I was advised by one of the local garages that I needed a new radiator, and the cost would be $970, including new hoses. I was referred to The Car Guy and he quoted me $722. BUT, he said to bring it in so he could look at it. He could not find any reason to replace the radiator or the hoses. He pointed out a couple of possible leak points where the hoses connect to the radiator and advised me to tighten them once the engine cooled down. Gene is very honest and straightforward. For all my future repairs and maintenance, The Car Guy will have my business

Great local shop. I’ve dropped parts off here several times over the past couple of years. Had a couple of flywheels resurfaced, and most recently Gene pressed out a control arm bushing for me. Reasonable machine shop prices, quick turn around time, all without the hassle and runaround that most other shops take you for.

Excellent shop. I found Car Guy and Gene when researching an issue with my truck. I was able to have a discussion with Gene about what I was experiencing and he was able to communicate on my level. I would say my automotive intelligence is about middle of the road. I have done some of my own repairs for many years but I am far from being a mechanic. That said, I liked how he and his shop was able to discuss my issue with me so that I understood the situation. What I also saw when at the shop was how they have the ability to communicate to individuals on multiple levels of automotive understandings and felt they were straight forward and more informative than most shops I go to. Car Guy of ChandlerI wanted to take a few minutes to give a shout-out to Car Guy of Chandler. I recently had my 2015 Mustang in for a major overhaul. This car is my baby and I dont allow just anyone to work on it. This was a new experience working with Gene at CG of Chandler. I just wanted to say that I am so glad I chose them.I have been to a lot of shops in the valley but this one truly treats you like a friend and it is family-owned and operated which is probably why it runs so well. The communication was awesome and I was updated on my car often. Gene is extremely knowledgeable and meticulous about his work which was exactly what I was looking for. I have found my new mechanic and will not go anywhere but here from now on.The reviews are what led me to this shop so I wanted to make sure everyone knew another customer had an overall great experience there.

My first impression was definitely a good one. They took me into the shop to physically show what was wrong and the parts needed to fix it. Many other shops will have you sit inside the entire time only to have them come back with a list of items that need to be fixed/replaced and who knows if those other shops are telling the truth or simply trying to scam you.

Friendly service makes you feel at home. The staff here is honest and treats you fairly when it comes to prices and services. Often going the extra mile with no extra charge. Family owned and operated gives you a great feeling your car is in respectable and experienced hands.

Nice local car shop with friendly people and great service. I took my car to a dealership for repairs and they quoted me $1700 for a new catalytic converter and said it would take a week, I called Car Guy of Chandler and they had my car fixed in a matter of hours and charged me a fraction of the cost. I would recommend these guys to anyone!

Was recommended to come to this place with my hearse. Very nice staff. But when I refused the repairs I drove the car back they assured me they had disconnected the battery because it had a draw it was still connected and Dead and had no coolant in it overheated causing more damage. And to think I actually paid them to look at it.

Took my Challenger to these guys for a header install. Prices were really competitive, and the service was great. They got my vehicle back to me in a timely manner, and were extremely attentive to my needs as a customer. Without a doubt I will be using them for any further work I need done.

Late post but I had my 97 Cobra serviced here recently. I admit I handed them a nightmare. They didnt mind at all and were even eager to help. They are all very consistent and efficient and providing great updates on your vehicle and even send you pictures of a needed ad on repair when asked. Great customer service and very reliable. If I could give 6 stars I would. I had an issue with my AC and took it there. The customer service was the best I have ever had. They took care of the issue really fast and got be back on the road. A month or so later something else happened and I took it back in. They stayed after closing to make sure that I got my car back that night. The guys there are AWESOME and I would recommend everyone to take there car there to be serviced. It is the only place I will be taking my cars. Thanks again guys...

I dont go anywhere else to get my car serviced. Not only does Car Guy have the most affordable prices in the area, but the mechanics are good guys who do honest work. On my most recent visit, Gene kept my car an extra day to make sure they figured out what was wrong with it. They also dropped my bill (by more than half) to reflect the adjustment service they provided, instead of the $90 diagnostic charge I had agreed to pay. I really appreciate their honesty, quality work and dedication to keeping their customers happy. Also, they have dogs in the office.

I have known Gene for over 10 years and have always been treated with ethical and fair business practices. The Car Guy is by far the best auto repair shop I have ever done business with. I was looking for a good place to take my eclipse in to get my clutch worked on and I found the car guy. Nice thing was it was down the street from me. So I went down to see what this place was all about. I saw good reviews and also some bad ones but you dont know if its good or bad till you see for yourself. When I got there I talked to one of the nice ladies up front about the issue I was having, she went and got Gene. Gene is a super cool guy I told him what was going on and he gave me some different possibilities of what it might be. I asked him if I just bought an aftermarket clutch and flywheel would he install them. Sure. Got a quote witch was by far better then the other places I went to. And to top it off he walked me around his shop showing me all the things they do there its like a one stop shop. Introduced me to the guys working there witch were all super cool. I went back a week or so later cause my wifes power steering was leaking pretty bad. I talked with Wes another super cool guy and got a quote made an appointment and by the end of the day it was done. Once I got my clutch a flywheel in I went back to make an appointment. I had it towed there in the morning the day before the appointment and the the end of the next day she was done ready to be driven. The did awesome work on both my cars I plan on going back for some aftermarket upgrades and I highly recommend this places for anyone who is picky about their cars like I am. I was referred to Car Guy through a friend. My son, who was 20 yrs old bout a 1999 Buick through a used car dealer. After driving it for 3 months the car died on the road. We had the car towed to Henry Brown on Val Vista and the 202. They told us the engine could not be fixed. They said we could have a used engine put in it for approx $2500.00 or a new engine for approx $4000.00. Our friend told us to get a second opinion from Car Guy. We had the car towed there. Car Guy said it was a blown head gasket and they could fix it. They fixed that plus replaced all the rubber under the hood, did a tune up etc and all for under $2000.00. My son now 22 has been driving the Buick ever since without trouble. The Car Guy is honest and they will not rip you off

Ive only been in AZ for around 3 years but Ive gotten all my mechanic work done through the Car Guy. I did a lot of research prior to taking my vehicle here and this place had the best comments relating to honest and accurate work. Trust all the reviews - these guys are the kindest, most honest and hardworking mechanics Ive ever dealt with. Most recently, I took my car in to get the check engine light looked at. They had my car for a day and tried multiple different items, all while calling me and keeping me updated on the progress. They werent able to determine the issue the first day, but I bought it back for a second day and they successfully resolved the issue. The second day they had my car they didnt charge my a dime and gave me the most throughout explanation of the problem Ive ever heard! Ill continue to bring my car here for the rest of my time here in the Phoenix valley! Great company who does great work!

Great service. Only place in town to get a TDI oil change or transmission service. They carry the right diesel safe oil in stock. Much much better and cheaper then the dealer. I brought both of my diesels here.

Worst management ever. Poor customer service not friendly at all. They cant accept any opinions or suggestions without coming at you like they wanted to fight you. Im not saying customer is always right but you should at least make them feel important after all, customers first impression plays a huge role weather you give them your business or look somewhere else which Im glad I did.

Took two cars here for routine maintenance as well as some other repairs. Gene took the time to really explain in depth the reasons for the problems I was facing, took me out to see the car, and was very patient and non-aggressive in his approach. I felt taken care of very well while at Car Guy and will definitely be coming back again!

I must say I know this shop on a customer and personal basis and there like a family. Great work and good customer service. They take pride in what they do. Dont get me every shop has its problems but when one may arise they go above and beyond to solve it. I went in for an alignment on my vehicle and I will definitely go back. I was happy with my services. They were all so sweet and they made me feel like family.

I did some mods to my car that required a custom EGR pipe to be created, and I only had a few days to get the car through emissions. Gene went through all the different options with me before starting any work. He was able to get the custom EGR pipe created and installed the same day, and even contacted me the next day to make sure I was able to pass emissions. Excellent customer service. Ill be back for more work.

Ive had 2 really amazing experiences with Car Guy so far! I was first recommended to them by a family friend about 4 years back to repair the block on my 05 Mustang. From what I was told, they were very knowledgeable with Mustangs. That was an understatement! They were great with the price and customer service. Fast forward to today, I called Gene to inquire about a head gasket replacement. Not only was Gene very honest over the phone, but he went out of the way to help with some advice on selling my car.I will definitely be returning with any Ford and/or mustang work in the future!!

I went to Car Guy to get a Turbo Installed on my Mustang. My experience with Car Guy was great. They are a full service shop. The were able to install my turbo kit, manufacture the new exhaust and install the new torque converter for my transmission. I will not take my car to anybody else.

My car has high mileage, I drive over 100 miles daily round trip just for work and I now have a mechanic who cares about my car as much as I do. Two good friends recommened The Car Guy for my car service and Im glad I brought my car here. ABSOLUTE 5 STARS! After the IDIOTS at Walmart put power steering fluid into my master cylinder, they took care of it ASAP! The owner even gave me a ride home, when I did not have a ride! THIS SHOULD BE THE SHOP THAT YOU VISIT, HANDS DOWN! I will be a repeat customer!

Gene and crew at Car Guy are a great bunch. They do quality work and are priced fairly. I have used them for my mustang, my explorer, and my Mercedes. They are my #1 go to shop here in AZ! They also have an onsite machine shop for more labor intensive or fabrication type of work. This is a first class business in my book.Update:Just brought them my Mercedes again for some major work (head bolts, fixing an oil leak, belt, and other engine related work). Car Guy had my vehicle completed in about a day and a half (fast for the job) and the car rides like a dream now. No leaks and I can sleep easy knowing the head bolts are now updated per OEM spec. Cost was about 1/3 of what I was quoted at the dealer. This shop will get my business for the foreseeable future!

Gene always does great work at a fair price, and doesnt cheat you. I drive from the West valley to take my cars to him. Gene is very knowledgeable and the best to go to.

Incredible experience. Had exhaust work done on my Mustang and a friends Mustang, was literally 1/3 the price of exhaust and muffler shops in the valley for the same quality. Gene is an awesome guy, kept us entertained while we waited on our rides and kept asking us questions at every step to make sure our cars were done 100% exactly how we wanted instead of just doing whatever he felt like. Also did a quote on a friends Charger, instead of upselling him on the job, Gene gave him suggestions on what he could do to make the job easier on the wallet and even gave some topics to research so that our friend could find a setup that would please him the most and prevent future regret. Definitely returning for future mods and odd jobs on my Mustang.

This place is amazing!! I got an oil change in my Expedition for $22! Lowest price I could find.While that are the fastest place ever, the people are very friendly AND they have a huge KIDS ROOM!!! There was toys and a table, tv and movies, everything you could need to keep a little one happy while you wait on your vehicle.!!I will not go anywhere else for oil changes and services!! I dont know where to start, the whole team is great! I got my clutch & flywheel job done here at Car Guy and even before picking out which clutch kit I wanted to put in my 04 350z I spoke with Wes who took time out of his day to go on the same website as me to recommend and give me information on which clutch kit would be best for me. I ended up going with the JWT kit and I also did some other little things and price came out to exactly what they quoted me with no BS. Wes was very helpful and answered all the questions I had about my car and they did a good job! I will definitely be coming here again for all my services.

Ive been bringing my 05 mustange here for a couple years. Just recently had the A/C recharged. He took me in same day and got me on my way. Very reasonable pricing. Gene always does a great job explaining problems, repairs, and how things work in general.

I took my Nissan Titan to the dealer in Chanlder. They told me it is a timing belt a that was causing noise and needed to be fixed. The cost was going to be over $3000 to fix it. Oh, and it took Nissan more than 6 hours to come to this conclusion. Upset that I would need to shell out $3000 I want to the Car Guys to see if they could to the same work for less. Over the phone, they said, if it was the problem Nissan says it is they could do it for a little over $2000. I took it in at 8am in the morning. Before 9am, they found the problem. It was an oil filter, and a light sensor. Total cost because I added some things $200. It took these guys much less time and found the real problem. I am never using the dealer again. I would highly recommend anyone these guys. Great service, get front desk service. All round I am very pleased.

Outstanding service, I went to these guys with an idea for a complete powertrain build and came out with a rock solid motor and transmission for my custom truck. Honesty and ethical behavior are a difficult thing to find in the automotive industry, you dont have to worry about anyone here lacking either of those qualities. (I had to have it back today)THEN I go to pick up the tracker and pay and the PRICE WENT DOWN! Honestly how often does that happen at a mechanic?!I literally tell everyone I know to only go here. Im a avid DIY guy but there are times where I need to take my car to the shop to get some work done even when I dont want to lol.Gene (The Owner) has always been honest and upfront about what I need and dont need. Anyone can nickel and dime you on parts. Your car will always need work to be perfect and then some. So to have someone who is basically an open book with their knowledge and what you need to do to get your car back on the road safely. He doesnt tell me what I want to hear but what I need to hear. I have a 2016 mustang gt and I thought I had an exhaust leak after I put on a h pipe so I heard alot of good things about the car guy shop so I decided to take my car over there and have gene check it out we put it up on the lift he checked it out and found that it was just the way the exhaust sounded really honest guy would deffinalty recommend anyone with car troubles or want performance upgraded take it to the car guy

First of all, they dont even have a running website, so makes you wonder, if they cant afford to have that up, what else cant they do? Obviously help people on the weekend, which leads to this... second, they arent open during any hours for people that work normal jobs. All I wanted was an oil change, but because theyre closed on the weekends and they are only open from 8am to 530pm, I cant use them. The lady on the phone said she would shuttle me so I could drop my vehicle off, until I told her where I worked, and then told me, that would be too much of an inconvenience for her, for just an oil change and then basically told me oh well, we cant help you and hung up the phone! Well done Car Guy, well done!!! You should hire someone friendlier to answer your phone, you might get more business, not just regulars... off to find a place open weekends!

I came to The Car Guy, to have a PI swap done on my mustang. I had driven past the shop several times, and had noticed several mustangs there, so I figured they would know what to do when it came to my car. The owner Gene gave me a tour of the whole facility. I decided to have them do the work. Well as luck would have it, the perfectly functioning heads I purchased off craigs list were absolutely irreparable. Gene gave me a great deal on another set of heads and cams for my build. The part that shocked me was his honesty about some of the other parts. When doing this type of swap there are a lot of parts that need to be replaced. In this case the timeing chains and guide plates should be replaced. This kit can cost from $250.00 to $350.00, he couldve charged me for it and the extra labor, but he was honest and said it didnt need to be replaced. I brought my wifes car in for a problem, thought it was the catalytic converter. The cost for a new cat is $180 to $300 plus labor. turns out it was the fuel pressure regulator, $109 out the door. If you want honest and quality work done, this is by far one of the best shops in the valley. Thanks Gene,
