The service here is above expectations. I brought my car in for an oil change and mentioned I was headed out for a long road trip. Jeff ran a courtesy inspection and pointed out a few things I should consider before the trip- and what could wait. Not pushy at all. They were able to do the work right then, the price was fair, and the car is road trip ready.

My husband and I came into town to visit family. While here we decided to take our vehicle in for its oil change, having frequented this business before moving out of state. Our vehicle requires full synthetic oil, which averages around $60 an oil change. This was the price we paid the last time we had it done at car-x. The man checking our vehicle in did not mention an increase in price. There was no pricing on the wall to reference. As a matter of fact, the man behind the counter spent so much time complaining about not getting a lunch my husband asked if we should even stay or just get the oil change when we go back home. Still, we left it there for an oil change and tire rotation, which was free with the oil change.When my husband returned to pick the car up and pay the bill he was absolutely floored to hear they wanted $95.00 for an oil change!! No charge for tire rotation. $95.00 just to get the oil changed. I almost threw up. When he questioned the manager he was told that it was corporate policy and there was nothing he could do, but offered us $15 off the next visit! $15 off is still $20 more than we pay at the dealership! I would highly suggest staying away from this business. I know I will never go there again.

I have come to Car X 4 times to get my oil changed and each time they have been professional and caring. They checked my car for any issues without me asking and informed me of anything I should keep an eye on. I will continue to come to Car X and I encourage other people to come as well.

I bought a beater with a heater at a jalopy shop for my son for his 16th birthday, and it was in dire need of tires. Ten minutes after he passed his drivers test, we rolled into Car-X and they were surprisingly able to get two new shoes on that ol girl that same day. 😆 (It was a busyyy Saturday.) Anyway, we came back six days later to get an oil change and the other two tires put on. In all interactions, Byron, Jesse, and Jeff were super friendly, helpful, and thorough in answering all of my questions (not to mention dealing with this nervous mama who hadnt quite grasped the idea of her kiddo driving all by his selfie.😳) Thanks, guys. I recently got a used car from a family member and brought it here to get an oil change. While there, they also gave my car a full inspection, and were able to tell me of all the problem areas that the vehicle had. The two employees that worked with me, Jeff and Fred, were so thorough and went completely above and beyond. They even offered for me to come outside into their shop so that they could give me a complete walkthrough, pointing out each issue and explaining to me what was needed. It was immensely appreciated and I am very confident in the work that they do! I plan on returning for any car needs in the future and would recommend CarX (especially Jeff and Fred!) to anyone that wants quality service.

Changed tires for my daughter, put on the wrong size, put the correct size on then charged for the labor for their own mistake and ended up keeping her vehicle for the majority of the day. Would recommend their service to others, also offered other services at an inflated price.

I was helped by Jessie Keeton he was very polite and knowledgeable. I wasn’t sure what was wrong with my car but he was able to figure it out and get it fixed in no time. Since having my car worked on there I haven’t had any more issues. This will be the only place I take any vehicle.

These workers are able to fix anything. I first when to them a few years ago to siphon out my gas tank. 2 years later, they were able to do a quick oil change for my car in September, get my tires filled in October, and just now fixed my gear struts in less than 2 days! I definitely will be coming back here!

The crew at Charleston Car-X are top notch. They are a trusted partner in the care of our family cars. Even though our boys are grown and live elsewhere they try to get any car issues addressed with Tyler and the staff at Car-X when ever possible. I have found the staff to be honest and straight forward and do everything they can to resolve your issues in a fair way and in a timely manner.

We have had great services here. We have had a bad year with cars and got yo know these guys too well. But we have been very satisfied with thier work. They are honest and upfront, even telling me it was best to got to the dealer because they were just going to get the parts there and have to charge me more. We have even had them do extra things just to be nice and not charge us ( like changing out belts)!

My youngest daughter goes to Eastern Illinois University and recently had an auto repair issue. Inyart took care of this problem quickly and with minimal expense. Then my oldest daughter was on her way to pick the younger one up at the end of the semester and her pick up broke down.Inyart stepped up again rescuing her from the side of road and repairing her vehicle. Both jobs where done quickly and under the quoted amount. This place is great, great services and great prices. My best friend runs a shop near Chicago and he could not beat the prices or time to repair.

Tyler and the guys are the ONLY ones that work on my vehicles. Never had a problem with getting them in to get worked on, prices are very fair and competitive, and the work is done right the 1st time. We have all of our oil changes done there, bought tires, etc. The few times that weve had more serious and timely repairs (transmission rebuild), Tyler advised me who to take it to as well. NICKS THA MAN! Went in to get my oil changed for a long weekend trip to Michigan, (first trip with our 1 month d son). Turns out I was low on EVERYTHING. Had leaks..He Replaced plugs that were worn. Top off all fluids..aired up my spare tire.. Even took me under to show me what I potentially need to keep an eye on in the future. Unbelievable. Lifelong customer right here. Give that man a raise.

For the last 26-27 years, I’ve had all my car repairs done and tires purchased at John Inyart’s Tire and Auto, now Car X, in Charleston. That would cover some 600,000 miles of driving by my wife and me, in at least a dozen cars. Tyler, the manager, is always very welcoming and highly efficient at securing parts and scheduling repairs on the many vehicles that pass through the agency. Bob, Fred, Mike, Jesse, and Rod, the long-time technicians, are truly superb at their work.

Seriously disappointed in this company. After watching numerous advertisements in regards to specials this company supposedly runs I directed my college age daughter here for brake repairs. For replacing the rear calipers, 1 rotor & rear pads they wanted $700+ after letting her use 2 coupons they managed to reduce the cost to $680. Local shop will do the work plus replace the other rotor for $350. Ridiculous! Highly do NOT recommend this company!!!!!!!!!!!!!
