I was in the mood for a green tea latte and went in for the first time. Service was quick and the quality was exactly what I was looking for. Flavorful and very lightly sweet. Great experience, will be back again!

Great vibes! Very hip and a great spot for just sit back and take it easy. Multiple options available to help you get caffeinated, along with even better options to satisfy your sweet tooth. I had ordered a turmeric tonic and a chocolate chip cookie. The tonic was an excellent choice. The washroom was clean as well! Would definitely visit again and recommend to my friends!

Its so good! But please be open till 5pm!! This one closes at 2pm-- when Ill want to grab a cup of coffee/tea at 2:30 or 3pm lol

I love this Intelligentsia location. I came on a Monday morning, and the shop was fairly empty. They have cold brew and nitro cold brew on tap, which is great on a hot day. They also sell a lot of merchandise/ coffee brewing equipment. It’s a great place to get work done because they have outlets around the shop.

The coffee here is absolutely cutting edge. The technique used to pull every shot is dead one. I wish they had more of a food and bakery menu though. The space is a little small and industrial which makes the location feel cold. I’m just being picky though. Still great coffee.

Not from Chicago but visited Intelligentsia and thought it was a good coffee shop. I ordered a double espresso and my wife ordered an iced latte. Black Cat Espresso is a solid go-to!

Tumeric Tonic. If youre sick, get it. I swear this makes illness so much more bearable. Beautiful presentation too. Bathrooms are public, plenty of seating, friendly staff, great merchandising, fresh flowers, clean, comfortable noise level, plugs for computers, window seating, and of course.. good coffee.

Industrial aesthetic with wood paneling around the bar area, mixed with surprisingly good natural light makes for a good atmosphere. Chemex V60, drip, they be got it all and its pretty good. I got a canele and was disappointed...Maybe I just dont like caneles...In my opinion there are better coffee shops nearby (caffe streets, wormhole, standing passengers, etc). Theres nothing particularly wrong with Intelligentsia coffee, yet theres also nothing that stands out.

I usually stick to Starbucks or Petes Coffee but I tried this place for the first time and it was the BEST coffee I had in Chicago! ☕️ I had the Vanilla Latte and it was soooo smooth and fresh. I literally did not put No Sugar in it. It was just perfect. The Staff were really friendly and patient with my questions about the menu which was nice. I also had the Ham Croissant 🥐 which was so on point and satisfying. Thank you for this glorious morning 😊

I accidentally turned up in this coffee shop. I ordered small coffee. Drink was okay but cup was tiny and super overpriced, $4.46 with tax.

Came in with a friend on a Sunday afternoon. The cafe was full, but I was the only person in line. I ordered a cup of their special brew they had going and got a great cup of coffee and since they brewed by the cup, they gave me the excess in a separate pitcher. The coffee was awesome! What was left to be desired was the service- while I waited for my coffee, a few other customers came in and ordered as well. When my coffee was ready, they didnt announce what the cup was or who it was for. They just set it on the counter and expected the customers to figure it out. I approached (since I was the first customer in the queue) and was thankfully right that this was my cup. As I was leaving, it was very unclear what I was to do with the little tray, cup, and pitcher. There wasnt a dishbin or clear drop off area, so I just approached the bar with all of my stuff and was pretty gruffly told to just leave it on the bar. I think some instructions for newcomers would be very helpful as well as just a more friendly disposition from the staff. Ill definitely be back because of the awesome coffee, but I had a difficult first experience at this cafe and I think it could easily turn people away.

The Peppermint Mocha is to die for here, 1000x better than Starbucks! They have yummy pastries, a modern/hipster vibe, excellent presentation and quick service. Definitely check it out if you’re wandering around wicker park.

The coffee is good and has a well-deserved national reputation. However, what is unique is what they have introduced in regards to sparkling teas on tap. Great variety of flavors. I like having something cold and interesting to sip on in the afternoon that doesnt have the caffeine of coffee or the calories/alcohol of a beer.

Matcha latte was great. They don’t serve almond milk but the oat milk was a great substitute. Would definitely come back for tea.

Truly the best coffee I have had in this city. Baristas have always been helpful with recommendations and their assessments of different coffees. I usually walk in looking for help and they have always proceed help. Coffee here is light to medium roast, which I love. Some people will hate that because it is so bright (possibly sour)....but this is the best espresso on Earth. I love it and I hope you will at least give it a try!

Coffee is overpriced which is fine because its Wicker Park so you would expect that, but I was not expecting the coffee to be so weak and tasteless... Ive had gas station coffee that was brewed stronger. Then I got this old fashioned chocolate donut... way way way way WAY too sweet! I had to throw both of them out and go somewhere else.Coffee and donuts... its not hard, right?

I really love this location of Intelligentsia. The interior is well lit and welcoming, and the staff is super friendly. I also really enjoyed my cappuccino. I will definitely be heading back here!

Intelligentsia is my favorite coffee in Chicago, and I was delighted when they opened this store and made a point to commission artwork. They will commission artwork from local artists each year, to display both inside their cafe and on the western side on the building, in an 27 x 92 space. Its a huge! And its a great way to recognize local artists.Their coffee is fantastic as well, and Ive been pleased to quickly get a cup of coffee before jumping on the Blue Line for work (commuters rejoice!), even though this is the type of place that I would stand in line for 45 minutes just to get my Intelligentsia fix... and I have.Worth it.

Coffee was decent but mine was very like warm when I got it, annoying but Im sure thats not always the case. Not worth the price in my opinion but if youre going to sit and work for 2 hours with one cup of coffee, this is a good place.

Its a very friendly shop, and smaller than I expected, given their fame. When I walked in every employee working that day greeted me and asked how I was. My coffee was ready in moments. Yes, the small latte is small, but really that just means they use less milk. The coffee taste was more robust than, say, the bigger latte I got the day before from dark matter. I dont do a $4 coffee every day, but this is as good as any. Oh, I dont think they had any fun lattes (like, say, Ipsento does), its more of a coffee purist place.Oh, and they have a discount for cyclists, which I love. Although only sometimes apparently, because I biked back a few days later and no discount. Theres bike parking outside.

Venue is nice and service is friendly. I dont know what it is but theres just something about the flavor of Intelligentsia coffee blends that doesnt taste very good to me; the coffee flavors just hit the back of my tongue in an unpleasant way. Also the bathroom was pretty nasty.

I love this place! Plenty of outlets, delicious coffee, fast wifi, and the music is the perfect noise level so you can have a meeting on your laptop if necessary. :)

Intelligentsia is now producing the best quality beans and coffee drinks in the city. All of the beans are roasted to a medium roast-- without any of the ashtray taste a larger chain of coffee stores is known for. They charge more--- and deserve it for a premium product!

It was a day that wore itself like an old forgotten coat, a an old you that youd forgot that came back like a transport in time, some boat across time, and you take a cup like days of old and smile aside at the yellow paper sun, drying your eyes at the smell inside of that perfume she wore long days ago when the stories were easy to tell and no one lost any sleep. And now I know the meaning of that woman I saw that day, talking to herself with her no person friends nowhere around her. Her sadness was for me to see, and so I did.

They know the art of brewing! The staff is helpful and they know their drinks well, they can recommend something to meet my preferences from one day to the next. They sometimes have gluten-free options, I hope that moving forward they get better at consistently having those options available. Im so glad they are finally in my hood!!

Hey..all for good coffee..but as a hood liver no way can you charge 4 bucks for a small ..its too much and most others agree.. 3 is max for small coffee and thats a bit crazy..sorry..you are abusing

Coffee is excellent, brewed by expert baristas, just as I expect from Intelligentsia. The space, however, is a bit too high concept to make for comfortable meeting / chilling / working. Still...whats not to love about Intelligentsia coffee, eh?

Perfect pit stop during Renegade Craft Faire, great service, incredibly friendly staff. The barista had a good sense of humor too, as I like to make random quips about crying kids. Highly recommend.

I actually feel bad that I have to give a 2 star review to this coffee place that Ive came to for years. I think that while on its face they still try to present an image of high quality and passion for good coffee, in reality the place has become commercial, and the coffee is no longer their main focus. Today ( the day of this review) I ordered an Americano. It was obvious to me that it did not extract well. It was not only the surprise that the Americano didnt taste right, but how the barista was trying to convince me that there was nothing wrong with my coffee. With so many good roasteries in this city, and with so many good coffee shops I really think that Intelligentia should gage their bets wisely, unless their purpose is to become Starbucks.

Had one of the weirdest experience at this place. Was telling the guy I wanted to try Ethiopian coffee he said they dont have sing origin coffee. so I started looking at the menu and there was Ethiopian coffee so I pointed and ask he said that is for espresso I said ok Ill have macchiato he said it is more money. ..???? And I looked at him confused because I dont remember telling him I have budget . So I said ok then he said macchiato comes in small cup ??? i so wanted to tell him I had real macchiato  before you even heard the word but why bother needless to say I never went back

Not the best place if you are looking to clamp down and grind out some work as the table seating is limited, but it is a nice spot for a quick coffee and conversation.
