Mari the color specialist was amazing! She color corrected my hair and gave me the perfect highlights!I loved her consulting. She walked me through all the options and addressed all my questions so patiently! Most importantly, she ensured she took care not to compromise my hair in the process.I left very very happy! I was looking at perfumes with my fiancé and the manager had the security following us around the entire time until we left the store. I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life and will do my best to avoid that location. I’ve seen multiple reviews about how they racially profile and it is one hundred percent true. Too bad, other than that other Ulta stores I’ve been to seem to have professional and friendly staff.

Omg. I love Gretchen. She’s amazing!!! She came in an hour early to cut my hair because she’s booked for weeks and weeks out. And holy moly she’s an artist. Chopped off about 6-7” and styled me. Pure genius.

Super slow service. I ordered a perfume called voce viva valentino, I put in my curbside pick up the day before, it said that the item was available at this location. I was able to pick it up the next day. I put in the order then. I didn’t get an order number nor a notification saying “my order was ready.” I waited 6 hours after and no notification. I went to the store. Walked around the store, and seen people that work their with there phones, talking to each other, not working. I passed by the perfume and seen it was on stock. Well I made my way to the cash registers and asked them if my order was ready. The place was empty. “ supposedly working” I finally got someone to help me and this lady I forgot her name helped me. I told her what was going and she said; that’s weird. Let me go get it for you. She went to the place where the perfumes where at and took it. And gave it to me. Everyone else was on the phone, chatting with each other. Yeah not that professional. She said “I’m sorry about that. Bad experience.” Gave me the item.

Haircut from Beto was awesome. Cool guy, was able to steer me in the right direction because I never know what to do when I get a haircut. Ill be back!

It was my first visit to this salon and it was very fantastic. The stylist assigned to me really fixed me right up. My hair looks natural, refreshed, and gorgeous. She’s very meticulous and it shows in my hair. I appreciate the time and attention to detail as he explained the whole process to me and answered all my questions. Thank you very much!

Not being able to test beauty products is a deal breaker, especially when its competition (Macys, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, etc.) allows customers to test beauty products. Im not going to shop there anymore!!!

I was in this store a few weeks ago to buy a perfume, when I got home and opened it, it turned out to be a totally empty bottle, it was not even the perfume I had bought, I immediately went to the store, and the answer they gave me was We do not sell that brand of perfume here referring to the empty bottle that was inside the sealed box of the perfume that I had bought, they hinted that it was I who had put the empty bottle in the box and they refused to change or return my money, I was ready to call the police and show the security cameras in my apartment where I opened the perfume. At the end they agreed to change the perfume after I said I had cameras in the place I opened the perfume. The worst customer service, the worst I have received so far!!!

Another Ulta Beauty forced to lay victim at the hands of shameful and violent people in 2020. I am sorry that happened to your store, you were innocent.There were a ton of beauty stores across the nation that suffered. Most of them small business set ups whose owners now have nothing. Beto did great job on my hair. The price was twice what I normally pay at Ulta salons in the past (that’s why I go to Ulta but maybe because it’s downtown the prices are double so call ahead before your stomach turns when you get the check) and the receipt doesn’t break down what was done so that was my only complaint otherwise hair looked great but I wish it was little blonder.

I have been going to this Ulta for about a year now. My stylist is Zoe and she’s amazing. I always end up leaving with a great laugh and gorgeous hair. Zoe is professional, courteous and has a huge heart. I moved here from another state so finding someone new was a big deal. I highly recommend this salon and endorse Zoe!!

Find a lot more than I used to. They are starting to carry brands that I like in smaller sizes which are great for travel and economical. Because of their small sizes you can buy fresh products more often . Also you can try samples of things without a huge commitment to things you arent sure about. Love it!

I went in to Ulta to just kill time before an appointment nearby. Iran ended up helping me find what scent I actually like. It turns out the fruity scents I gravitated towards are due to the rose that they have in them! I ended up buying this coach scent, and then he gave me a free sample of another rose scented perfume! Iran is very knowledgable about fragrances so if youre looking for something new he is your guy! I really enjoyed my time here and happy that now when I read the ingredients on the bottles I know what it will smell like! Super cool trick Iran taught me.

I am definitely coming back to this location. Everyone is so incredibly nice and helpful.

This Ulta has by been the best one I have gone to in Chicago. The security guard greets you upon entering. Even the security guard knows where their products are located. Ive come here during Black Friday for the past two years. They are so organized. The staff is great! I can come in looking like a hot mess or in glam mode and they treat me just as well no matter what. They provide amazing customer service and if they dont have something on the shelf, theyll kindly look for some in the back. If thats not an option, theyll assist you in ordering the product and having it shipped to your home. I love this place. Everyone here goes above and beyond to help you.

You would think shopping in downtown Chicago everyone would be rude and snobby when it came down to the sales associates, but today I had the most delightful experience inside of Ulta thanks to this gentleman named Iran. I was looking for an item to assist with chapped lips and he was honest and kind with his product knowledge and professionalism. Prior to my experience at the Ulta in Michigan avenue, I had a terrible experience at the Ulta in Village Crossing in Skokie. One of the sales associates was just ignorant and made me feel small. Iran redeemed my loyalty to Ulta and I have faith in humanity all in all again. The store has an excellent selection of products from small makeup treats to the real deal luxury makeup. 10/10 would recommend any makeup connoisseur.

Mr Iran is so knowledgeable about the fragrances, I am very happy that I got to meet him and learn from him. Can’t wait to go back.

This Michigan Ave location is great. Ive been a drug store makeup girl for as long as I can remember, but as Ive gotten older I realized I needed to be more conscious of how I treat my skin. I was intimidated af to go buy good makeup. The girls who wear good makeup always seemed so advanced, lol. Every time I have gone in the staff has been incredible. Helping me figure out just what I need when I barely possess the vocabulary to discuss it. Stock is always flush. Store is clean. Sure I always spend more than I intend, but its worth it. Def recommend this location.

I enjoyed this Ulta. Immediately I walked in there were 3 people available and I asked them where a specific shampoo is and she showed me and answered all my questions. Then I was looking around just to waste some time before my husband picked me up and someone came up to me and said if I needed help and I actually needed a lipstick that I was running out of and he showed me another one and it matched it perfectly!

I really enjoyed my visit to this store. My mom and I were greeted pleasantly when we entered the store and there was plenty of employees around to help out. There were good sales and the lines moved quickly. Everyone was so friendly and the location is very convenient.

Had a store pick up. Store employee that rang me up was sarcastic. They racially profile ppl & make them feel as if they don’t belong in the store. I came there on my break to get my item, not be judged. Exactly why I order online & will continue to.

I will NEVER shop here again!! Not even 3 minutes in the store I had police following me around. As soon as I asked the lady at the counter if they had the product I was looking for she said no within 30 seconds of speaking into the microphone. And not even a literal minute the police all walked out (4 of them was following me). It was other people in the store and I was the only person that they was following. I will never shop at this or any other store that is openly affiliated with this company ever again.

I went for their big liter sale and was very happy with the help I received when asking what type of shampoo and conditioner I should use for my hair. They even grabbed a stylist for a consultation and his recommendations were really helpful. Thank you!

The place is exceptionally good for Mr.Irans amazing knowledge and hospitality, and experience. Unfortunately the manager at the moment was the exact opposite in the way of treating us. Just because we decided we werent buying fragrances today, the manager changes his attitude completely. We decided not to buy anything afterall not just fragrances.Mr.Iran is the most important asset of this place and I would reccomend him highly for his experience in perfumes like I have never seen before.

This place on Michigan Avenue is amazingly friendly. (The location is in Chicago,IL; U.S.A.) The staff is great and leave you feeling like you deserve to be pampered. I love the variety in selection they have on each of the products. They really know what they are talking about when it comes to skin care. They honestly care for their customers here.

Bad customer service. Low stock.I was in this Ulta for a good 30 minutes and no one came to help. Many of the staff were on their phones as if they were on break. I made eye contact with about seven employees, and stood in the same place for ten minutes. A group of five employees were chatting about who knows what. No one helped.None of the products I was looking for were in stock (one of the racks were even empty and only had testers). Beforehand, I even called them (this location) on the phone to check if they had items I was looking for, but upon arrival I only saw the testers. I had already been to another Ulta store prior (on Halsted), but they didnt carry the palette I was looking for. At least THEY helped me.

Ive only ever had 1 positive experience here. Most of the people working there are rude/treat you like youre gullible/dont listen. I dont really know how else to describe this dude, but a gay guy who was working there didnt listen to my concerns and treated me like he could just sell me anything he wanted. I ended up returning what he sold me the next day because it didnt even work!

Better selection than ones near us and daughter got a free wave with her purchase.

Not the best experience at this store. They were having some activity where stylists do hair demos but they were blocking the isles. The selection of products was just okay, though many were on sale which was nice. I much prefer Sephora down the street.

I dont like going to this location because theyre arent as friendly and helpful as other ones. Although the gentleman in the prestige fragrance was helpful, unfortunately I was just wasting time there after I shopped and was waiting for my friend to finish. Bottom line this location has what you need but not so great service.

This is probably one of the worst locations in Chicago as far as service. They dont greet you or ask if you need help and when you do need help, they act like its a huge inconvenience. I would say it must just be a bad day, but when they greet and make conversation with the customers after me and seem to have a similar attitude every time Ive visited it makes me think otherwise.

This is the worst Ulta I’ve ever went to. I went to shop around, and only because I wanted to look around they told me if I did not to buy anything I should leave. So disrespectful. Worst place to go to. All the employs just watched over me as I tried to look at the products. The security guard was the most disrespectful telling me to leave. Worst place in chicago. Honestly.

I misunderstood and thought she didnt notice I placed my products on the desk, when she was asking me for phone number. I get it, but she made a FACE, it was very RUDE! They should really watch over employees like these .. I can say the name since its on my receipt, but its fine. I WILL NOT go shop at this location again!

A big location, with a lot of brands and products. However, a lot of them werent stocked when I went. There were a LOT of missing shades and empty spaces. Staff was their usual pushy selves, but worse. There were only a few of us in the store (not together, mind you), and each one of us had an employee following us like we were robbing the place. Its rude, and really doesnt make me want to come back.

For me its a great place for one-off items

Just had my makeup and hair done in Ulta Michigan Ave with Zoe and I regret it so much!!! I needed my hair and makeup to be done for my engagement photoshoot. Almost all beauty salons are closed on Sundays and thats why I had to pick Ulta. I showed the pictures of the type of make up that I like and she did nothing close to that. I told her 3 times that I dont like my eye and she totally ignored what I was saying and did the same thing for my other eye before fixing what I was asking her.I was so close to burst into tears because she kept ignoring me. Andy hair... Got totally straight less than hour.

The makeup artist that work here are great.. They have the nicest happiest personalities and are very knowledgeable about the products.. I always have a great time learning from them.. girls that work for Estée Lauder and Lancôme are the best!.. but the cashiers are so rude and not friendly at all.. I always have a great experience till I have to pay.. I always leave on a sour note because of them.. twice I’ve been charged twice for products, and today one of the cashiers looked as if tho she was sleep talking.. she then proceeded to drop half of my products, which included blush and eyeshadow pallets.. “Fey” needs to get another job ASAP..

I am not a fan of this Ulta. Racial profiling definitely happens in the form of helpful associates only asking to help certain demographics. I will spend my money at my local Ulta and skip this one unless its an emergency.

I had an appointment with a hairstylist and makeup artist at ULTA and arrived on time. The hair stylist, which I agreed to pay extra for, ran about 40 minutes over, so the staff gave me someone else. Which is fine, since I didnt have to pay extra. Well, I told her I wanted pin curls. The hair stylist gave me s spiel on how she had to pass her exam by doing pin curls, which pumped me up because thats all I really wanted. After about an hour of unsuccessful attempts, with her next appointment waiting and the makeup artist waiting for me, she curled the back of my hair and used some Bobby pins to make my hair slightly wavy at the top. My hair looked nice, but I could have curled and bobby pinned my own hair at the hotel. I honestly felt like crying because I paid good money to have my hair professionally done. The makeup artist cheered me up and did a fantastic job. The only issue was that the fake lashes I paid extra for came off after an hour. I had to make a CVS run 10 minutes before the wedding. Overall, I would think carefully before making an appointment here. Its not worth the risk or money to only be disappointed in the end.

The nicest ulta employees i have ever met work in this location. they apply makeup beautifully and are sweet and helpful. one went above and beyond to help me find the right shade in the naked flushed palette and even introduced me to a new foundation and i left feeling confident (and took about a million selfies). only complaint is that they dont have all the registers up and running at the same time so there is a bit of a wait in line. go check out this new location and have fun like i did!

Very attentive group of employees! Had a great experience today around 6pm! Every encounter was with someone who was knowledgeable and not pushy!Amanda helped me know a ton more about Lancôme (so excited for the rose mask!) and knew about other brands that I had questions about. I appreciated how well-rounded she was and felt like the foundation and skin care from Lancôme was an authentic sale rather than wanting a high end sale. I am now a Lancôme fan for life. Wow the textures! However, she respected that I LOVE to mix and match brands. Seemed to care by knowing where everything was in the store and tried different testers to explain differences in them. Very professional. She introduced herself which was a nice touch...I was caught off guard,in a way, so I hope I remembered the name correctly!!!! Very personable and her skin and makeup looked flawless so I know she is trustworthy.Lori Ann (I hope that’s her name!) assisted in my brush needs. I am very lost and confused on the $$ in that section but she informed me of uses/feels and added a lot of value to them along with longevity. Gave me a few tricks and tips which was greatly appreciated! I didn’t feel judged one bit for my beginning level of contouring. I grew up where I looked like I rolled around in Doritos. I hope she works every time I have to shop!When I finally decided I did enough damage for my more responsible-bill-paying-self to tolerate and avoid the eyeing me down in the mirror, (at least I’m going to look good AND save money with not needing a face lift now that I have great skin and know how to sculpt my face (thanks again, Amanda and Lori Ann!!)), I met Crystal When I checked out. I felt like she was my personal cashier and there was never going to be anyone else in line. Don’t get me wrong, she was quick and sufficient but VERY nice. Calm, cool and collected!I’ve been coming to this location for a few years and always had great interactions but today I felt the need to speak up to who handled my clueless needs because I’m sure they shine with a lot of customers! Thanks Ulta for supplying great beauty products across the board and having staff that goes above and beyond!

I wish I could leave it 0 stars. WORST customer service I’ve ever encountered at Ulta. No one to greet you and literally nobody to help you out. I would come across huddles of Ulta employees talking among themselves and ignoring as I walked past them. Not even “everything okay” to be found. Never again.
