Lawrence is the man. I mean if you need ANYTHING, any-thing, he is just there. From helping you quickly unload something out of your car, guiding you to your unit, and just clearly demonstrating all of storage units benefits, no one has come close to being this helpful. Not even in any other city.

Lawrence is an absolute champ. This guy goes the extra mile in a HIGE way and I know good facility managers (we had the best in the industry in Joanne from the Strongbox) from decades of experience with our own self storage business we owned and operated since the 80s. If you need help with storage anywhere near River north or Fulton market, you’d be crazy to go anywhere other than Metro on Grand & Desplaines because of how awesome Lawrence is and how much he cares about his customers.

Worth all 5 stars; convenient and when necessary, across the street from Salvation Army, temperature controlled, prices competitive with others, and a wide range of locker sizes The staff is friendly & accommodating. If we didn’t move, would still be there. I would recommend storing your stuff there. Thank you

I’ve been a client since the opening (over ten years). Great facility. Easy access. Secure. Clean. Parking (street as well). Left for a year and recently came back. I now have 2 storage spaces, personal and work. The property manager, Lawrence, is great. Personable. Funny. On point. He facilitates the onboarding process and makes things simple for the customer. On 5/17/2021 i work for a moving company and delivered a renter to this location the front office gentleman was the most helpful and courteous man i have been in contact with in a long time.Great experience for my customer and my team delivering. Great employee and very clean facilities.

Lawrence and team at Metro are superb. You cant ask for a more courteous and professional staff. Having been a long term renter, Ive seen my share of property managers, Lawrence by far has been the best. Great rates, secure clean facilities, spacious units, great hours and extremely convenient location to downtown, you cant ask for better especially given the neighborhood and location. Great storage place, BUT I upgraded to a larger unit yesterday and was told I have 24 hours to vacate the old unit and move items to new unit. I went to the unit today and the new unit had a padlock on it preventing me from moving the items and forcing me to change my plans to come back tomorrow to try and do it again. Very frustrating

Great customer service and clean

At the 465 N. Desplaines facility, the management is great. I have heard so many horror stories of issues at other storage companies. At Metro Self Storage, I have never had an issue with anything at all. Its always clean, the temperature is always comfortable, no break ins. I have peace of mind knowing that my belongings are there.

Went in to check everything out and pay for a unit. I was told to do everything online so I can utilize their promotion and save some money, which was appreciated. The day of my move, I went in to sign all the forms. Patrick processed everything for me and showed me around. He was very helpful and quick. Even held an elevator for me so I could get all my stuff up in one load. Great place for quick (and assuming long term) storage.

The staff is amazing. We have a unit there and they are always pleasant and accommodating. Never had a storage place unit I didnt dread going into before so its a wonderful change. Bryan and Alicia are always pleasant, helpful and organized. The place is spotless and I think thats Bobs doing! Happy to be a part of metro!

This place is great! It has everything you need for storage and the staff is wonderful. Bryan was a pleasure to work with. He was so nice, efficient, and didnt waste any time--he had everything ready to go by the time I walked in the door. He even helped me move my palates up to my unit! Great service!

This storage facility is clean and located close to downtown which is awesome. The only cons I can think of is that its hard to access the parking due to everything being under code protection, which I guess could also be a benefit. Truly the biggest con is the that restroom is only open during office hours, which if youre there for long periods can be frustrating.The west facing windows are a definite plus if youre trying to photograph objects for e-commerce.

Weve held several of the larger units with Metro for over 7 years now. Very clean, well-maintained facility with an extremely friendly staff. Bryan has gone out of his way to help us when we need a short-term rental for a little additional space to make sure we have something that meets our needs. Great team to work with!

Ive had a storage locker at Metro for more than a year and recently added another one. All of the staff are fantastic...friendly, professional, and truly concerned about the welfare of their customers belongings. Its actually fun to stop by and move boxes! The facility is so clean that Im often joking with the desk staff that I would really like to live there. (Unfortunately, thats strictly prohibited, but I know my posessions are in a clean, safe environment.)

I reserved a unit on line last night and promptly received a phone call welcoming me to the business and explaining the next steps, process, and cost and options. Today I met Bryan in the office and he had all the paperwork ready to go, offered to show me options available and explained how everything worked and tested the after hours code to make sure all good. This place is very clean, actually spotless compared to other storage facilities I have used. Looks like a winner for sure and great service!

Im a new customer. Bryan and Eliza made the experience a breeze. The facility is clean, bright, safe and professional. There are always plenty of storage carts to help you move in and out with ease. Bryan consistently provides SUPERIOR service. I have been a customer for almost a year. I recently had more of a personal issue and since I was remote and not near my unit, Bryan helped me out and solved a very crucial issue for me. I am grateful.

Called on the way to finalize the rental and asked if they can stay few minutes late because I needed to move stuff into the unit same day. Told me do I have a choice? and when I got there 5 minutes after close, no one was there.Manager called back following week, apologized and made it right. Good follow-up on his part.

Update 6/4/2021: Weve used Metro Storage on & off since about 2010. I just rented a 3rd storage space here. Its very very clean, and very secure (gate and passcode after hours). We’ve moved throughout the city, but continue to use Metro Storage. The staff have been consistently professional, helpful, and friendly. They also have a small shop that sells cardboard boxes, tape, etc. Highly recommended!

I just rented my second space from Metro Self Storage. I felt no need to look at another warehouse for my current needs. The first experience I had with them was shortly after they opened about 9 years ago. The facility was clean, secure, and easy to access. The staff is particularly helpful and pleasant. For my purposes, the Des Plaines location is very convenient. I found the price reasonable for storage of my belongings. I used their storage services for a couple of years. Proof that I was very pleased can be shown in that I returned to them this past week. Try them out, I bet youll like them, too!

This place is very helpful. The staff is friendly & prompt to answer questions. Ive used 2 spaces so far and all has gone well! I will be using another during some home remodeling! Hours close at 9 - wish it was 10pm, thats a personal preference. I recommend this Storage Facility for short term or long term use, its really easy to get to as well. Satisfied.

I had such great service from Eliza, she had always helped me with no hesitation. Sad to see her leave but she will do great no matter where she goes. Thank you very much for all your time and hard work you do I will visit you in Des Plaines. Eliza you will be missed here.

Brian is very friendly and helpful, so as all people in his staff. The facility is super clean with plenty of fresh air, elevators are pretty spacious. There are enough carts to wheel in all your household items. Liked it!

I have been renting a storage unit at this location since 2005. It is clean, safe and they have a great staff. I rented my unit from Bryan and he has been there since, offering stellar customer service. Bryan goes above and beyond for customers. I always recommend M.S.S because of it. You can store your stuff with any storage company but it is the staff at Metro Self Storage that keeps me renting there year after year!
