The eye doctor here is amazing. I wish I had only came in to get an eye exam today. He convinced me that for safety I needed sports goggles for my job. He took my husband and I up front and handed us off to a salesman to show us the goggles.The salesman just put a box of goggles in the counter. Didnt explain sizing, or impact ratings or anything like that, even when I was asking questions. He just sat at his table the whole time. I wasnt happy with the salesmans service but I needed the goggles for work so I picked out a pair and ordered them in my Rx.When I was trying them on I noticed they were fogging up so I went online to see what I could do to prevent that. Then I see my goggles that I just ordered, ONLY come in CHILD SIZE!The whole point is safety! How are they going to protect me if theyre the wrong size? And they shouldnt fog up at all if they fit right. If only someone was around to help me and could have told me that.I called the store and cancelled my order. I realize its tough to get staff right now, but this place would be better off without having this guy as a salesman.

I had an appointment that I set out weeks ago for a Saturday morning at 9:00 AM. First of all, no one arrived until 8:55 AM, which if you have an appointment for 9 you’d think they’d arrive a bit earlier. I walked in at 8:59 and even opened the door for the doctor as he walked in. When I stepped inside I was greeted with a very rude white man that rudely said “We don’t open until 9!” When in fact the clock was about to turn to 9. I mentioned that it was going to be 9 in one minute and he continued to loudly say that they weren’t opened until 9. At this point I’m almost positive it had turned to 9am. So I just left. He could have been nicer or asked me to wait while they got settled in but his attitude made it seem like he was angry. So I left and took my money elsewhere. If y’all make an appointment, make it after 9 since they seem to have an attitude when they first open.

No transparency with the fees. Booked for a routine eye exam which is supposed to be covered by my vision insurance. Visionworks took eye exam + retinal imaging (additional $20 bucks). No one mentioned about it until I was about to checkout. I had no other option than to pay and come out. Disappointed. Should have mentioned about it before doing these additional services.

Doctor is super friendly but after being told I had to pay out of pocket for the exam I left with contacts that just didnt seem right. 2 1/2 weeks later Sep 18th I returned and received a different prescription, paid for the contacts and received an email and text Sep 23rd stating my glasses are ready. Called to find out it would be Oct 2nd before my contacts are ready, never ordered glasses btw. Its now Oct 8th, the automated system says there is a delay with my order, I speak to a miserable sounding employee just to find out that they are ready and they couldnt tell me how long theyve been available.. Ill NEVER use Visionworks again!

I had an exam less than 1 1/2 years ago. I was told I need another to purchase glasses. Its recommended to get an exam every 2 to 3 years. There was no reason other than penny pinching to deny me. I have a wife and 4 kids that all wear glasses. They just loss a lot of business in their attempt to nickel and dime me. Go elsewhere unless you want to take an exam every year.

Very Happy with this location.1st - The Store is clean and organized.Organized by price and shape of frames, which is AWESOME!!!!2nd - The Staff is very polite, knowledgable and friendly. Easy to work with and very helpful!I drive from the town over to go to this location compared to the location blocks from my home.I recommend this branch for your eye glass and contact needs.

My daughter was initially scheduled for an annual exam last week. I received the confirmation text, responded to confirm. shortly before the appointment I received a phone call explaining to me they couldn’t see her as they had another appointment. They went on to tell me the text was not for an appointment (odd though given it stated a specific time and date for her) as it was just a “reminder to schedule one.” Never had this before. Anyway, I rescheduled her appointment and added another for my other daughter.Fast forward to the new appointment-I arrived a few minutes late and understandably they told me the five minutes late resulted in them only then being able to take one of my daughters. They asked which I would prefer to have seen first. I explained my one daughter has been complaining of pain in her eye, he noted it. We headed back, began the exam and half way through, they asked us to leave as their next appointment was there, also 10 minutes late. I have never been in an office that was so unprofessional, rude, disorganized with their clients, or disregard the care of a child who needed to be seen.

I’ve never laughed like that with an eye Dr. The store team that helps with the pre exam and frame selection are wonderful as well. I just picked up my new glasses and they look great and I can see great. All around a very pleasant experience.

I was fed up with Americas Best not having trained staff to help me with even the simplest task of tightening my glasses. I tried the Visionworks in Crystal Lake and do not regret going in. The staff is super friendly and very knowledgeable. They are taking great care in cleanliness of the store and exam rooms per CDC regulations on COVID-19. The doctor was wonderful. Ive already told 2 other of my co-workers about my experience, both of whom are looking at switching eye doctors currently. Highly recommend this location!

After struggling with my first no line bifocal glasses for the last week and getting quite frustrated, I was hesitant to go back and be that “problem“ patient. I’m so glad I didn’t take previous reviews to heart and went in. The staff was super accommodating even though the store was full of people. They took the time to walk me through all my options, even offering to remake or refund the glasses if that’s what I wanted. They showed me again how the lenses work and it was a minor adjustment to make me see how I was comfortable. Thanks again!

Fantastic experience! Dr Haynes was wonderful! She took the time explaining all that I had going on and in terms I could understand! Not only was the exam thorough, Clayton helped me pick out so frames I absolutely love. I was even able to pick them up later that day with my prescription!! Will definitely be back!

Visionworks is awesome. I am so thankful for this company and its employees. This evening I had Dustin and Margarita and Dr. Ahmad. Dr. Ahmad was so thorough and extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you Visionworks. So glad I decided to give you a try. Fun staff, latest technology. Best prices by far so far. Got 3 pair of glasses for less than the price of one pair at a private optometrist nearby. My kids were both more comfortable here as well, than they had been at another local chain. Have several times now delivered exceptional services and consistently receive glasses very very quickly.

I am not upset with frame selection or prices for glasses. I am upset at the Dr and the GM and one new associate. Today I took 4 kids for their annual I take advantage of the buy one get one deal. Due to covid apparently this specific doctor office is requiring the retinal screening. Ok fine, but they wanted me to pay $19 a person. NO ONE TOLD ME THIS EVER BEFORE MY APPOINTMENT! It is not on their website. What is said is the premier exam is RECOMMENDED. So I told the associate well if this is part of the COVID precautions then the dr will be able to submit it to Insurance and explain why it is necessary. My insurance will cover it I have had this happens earlier in the year for myself. The associate argued with me for about 5 min then told me well I’m just going to have to cancel your appointments because we need to move along dr has a full schedule. She tried interrupting the DR during an exam on another patient! I said I want to talk with your GM. The GM came I told her if it is necessary bill the insurance if they deny it I will pay, but I am sure they will cover. Nope she rather I walk out with all 4 patients! I called my insurance provider. They new nothing of this policy other than it was recommended. They filed a report to confirm and they told me if this is the offices policy due to covid then once they verify their are no dilations, this is the one only way to get an exam we will cover the charge. EXACTLY WHAT I TRIED TELLING THE ASSOCIATE AND GM!!!! I feel bad for this vision works doctor because it isn’t so much the $19 I feel like they were trying to force me out of money just because they thought they could. What a break in trust! I guess I will be going to LensCrafters!

Last week I stopped by Visionworks and I was in a rush to get a new pair of glasses. I met with Dustin who took care of me immediately. I found him to be very knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. I had just ordered a pair of glasses from Costco but after my meeting with him I decided to cancel my earlier purchase and bought a pair from Visionworks. Just a few days after I ordered the glasses I received a text confirming the arrival so the service was very fast.. It was my very first time in the store and I plan on being a regular customer of them. I was very impressed by the quality of their customer service. I will recommend the store to people I know. I never write reviews, but I Had a fantastic visit today. Everyone who works there is friendly and knowledgeable. Sabrina did an absolute fantastic job with the initial screenings, Dr. Haynes is respectful (listens to the needs of the patients) and explains her assessment, and Margarita did a great job making sure I got the appropriate eyewear while explaining the rebates. Thanks for going above and beyond and getting in and out in a reasonable amount of time.

I had a really bad experience there today. During the exam I felt rushed into the decision making between things (when they ask 1 or 2, 3 or 4 for example) and was told to just pick one they’re both bad so pick one in a very rude tone. I told them that I had a lazy eye and was responded with another rude tone as if they didn’t believe me, and when I told the doctor I couldn’t read the letters out of my left eye he kept telling me to just read and guess it when I wasn’t able to. When I was able to make out some of the letters, he said in the same rude tone to not skip over any letters or just randomly say any of the letters out of order, which I did not because I read the ones I was only able to see. With my lazy eye I can’t always read every single letter. Those were just some of the issues that I had. He was very condescending during the entire exam and I was really upset afterwards, and I’m very disappointed with how the doctor treated me, I advice not to come here for any exams.

Original Rx from outside needed a change and I was able to get eyes tested & obtain new Rx. Waiting for replacements. So far exceeded my expectations for service & value.

Everyone was very helpful from the moment I walked in. Dr. H and Jared both assisted me..they genuinely tried to make sure every one of my needs were met. I had my eye exam on a walk-in basis, and purchased glasses on a Saturday. ..they guaranteed to have them done by Monday since their lab is at the same location. Very satisfied!! However, I was able to find much cheaper contacts elsewhere and they wont price match which is a bummer. Still great customer service though!

Well, the optometrist himself was very professional and knowledgeable. The staff, not so much. I just had to walk in and stand there in order to cancel a contact order, after three phone calls (and no call back with an update) to locate a contact lens order that was supposed to have been received a week ago at the latest. And even after asking to cancel the order, they attempted to deflect this back to a re-order rather than a cancel. Youd think after all of that I would have gotten an apology for the neglect, or the delay, or the lack of any explanation on where the order was. Spoiler: I didnt. What I got was a dismissive have a good one from the shift manager after reluctantly cancelling the order and issuing the refund. You get what you pay for, and how I forgot that when mistakenly setting up the appointment is anyones guess. Wont be doing that again.

I have been going to this store for 3 years, and I always get great service! Margarita does a fantastic job helping me choose frames. Dr. Ahmad really cares about getting my prescription right, and he makes sure to take my diabetes into account. He insists that my blood sugar is good at the time of my appointments so my prescription is correct (he has told me to reschedule when it wasn’t, and I appreciate that), and he is keeping me abreast of my diabetes-related eye changes to help me keep my vision. It’s not the closest store to me, but I trust them and will keep going back!

This place has some of the best customer service I have ever encountered. The 1st time we tried this place was when my daughter broke her glasses, who was 100% reliant on them, she was able to walk out with a new pair within 20 minutes. Since then I have switched over my entire family to visionworks and have referred many friends. Came in today for another emergency set of glasses (same daughter). I was assisted by a very friendly Jerrod, and same manager Dustin....we had a new set of glasses in no time, even turned the machine back on for us. Highly recommend this place for price and exceptional service!

Went into the store just to check out some frames. The selection of choices here is amazing. Better than a lot of the other stores I have been to recently. An employee named Sabrina was very nice and helped me go through some options. She was very patient with me as I tried on a few. Didn’t have my boyfriend with me so I needed her opinion on how good I looked haha. Anyways after trying on a few pairs we found the one. Went into the store just to look. Walked out of the store looking good with my new pair of glasses. Will be returning in a month or so to have my eyes checked. Overall a great experience, an AMAZING employee, and a wonderfull business. 11/10 would recommend!!!

We have continuously been pleased with the family atmosphere here at Visionworks!! Whether it’s Dustin or Jarrod or Marguarite (Maggie) or Juan out front waiting on us ... or with the incredibly nice doctors (Ahmad or Haynes). We have been purchasing frames and lenses of various types for a few years and been 110% satisfied and continue to return!! The care and hospitality is right on as being very nice and easy going. We have never felt pressured and always felt help with guidance direction or opinions. Highly recommend these guys for new glasses!!! ..... ohhhh and I cannot forget to mention Sabrina!! Dr. Ahmaad is a very professional doctor, providing a thorough and detailed examination. I knew my vision had deteriorated significantly since my last visit and he explained that cataracts had developed to a point where removal was needed. I stopped in to this visionworks because my nose pad had fallen off my glasses. I’m here for the holidays and they are not my usual eye care provider. I was greeted right away and had both nose pads replaced in a couple of minutes. They also replaced a screw, cleaned them and adjusted them all at for no charge.

Thanks for making my day! I had a really terrible experience at the mchenry location and received the wrong prescription in my glasses and contacts. After a month and a half of frustration trying to get the issue corrected I called the Crystal Lake location for help. They happily helped me, corrected my prescription and answered all of my questions. The staff went out of their way to make sure I had a good experience and instead of sending me back to mchenry to have my glasses replaced, they covered the cost of replacement lenses. Congratulations to Visionworks for having hired what I can only assume to be an incredibly talented manager. It’s not often that you come across and entire team of caring individuals eager to please their customers. Thanks again for all of your help guys! You have a customer for life!

I went for a routine contact lens exam, and was given a pair of trials to wear. These trials caused an ulcer on my eye. The ulcer was so severe, I could tolerate any light at all. My eyes were swelled shut for days, and the pain and swelling was tremendous. I obviously could not work during this time, and because of my entended absence from work, through no fault of my own, lost my job. I told Dr Haynes, the Dr. who conducted my exam. She was kind and apologetic. The rest of the staff was utterly indifferent, and could have cared less, that Visionworks in Crystal Lake Illinois recklessly dispensed dangerous and faulty contact lenses to me, that caused this ulcer, and my eyes to be swelled shut. Furthermore, the you g lady named Margurita was rude to me, the store manager indifferent, and another woman, suggested to me my job loss wasnt a big deal 2 weeks ago. Aside from Dr. Haynes, NOT ONE staffer bothered to take a y responsibility for what they did to me, NOT ONE staffer bothered to apologize to me. Better hope when they dispense faulty contact lenses to you, you dont expect an apology, or expect them to take any responsibility, BECAUSE THEY WONT. Finally, as a sad example of compensation, I was supposedly given a 6 month supply of contacts, when I got home, I counted them, what they gave me isnt even close to a 6 month supply. What an utterly miserable experience!
