I went to the Wal mart vision center in Crystal Lake just before I went to Florida in the latter half of June this year. I’ve been trying contacts for the first time ever, and have had a hard time adjusting to them. I went back a few weeks later after getting back from Florida, and they gave me some other lenses to try, and told me to maybe try using just one, etc… So that I could still see up close. Well, none of that worked, so I went back yesterday just to ask if multi focal lenses could work for me. As I walked up, I put on a mask and told my 2 kids to stand outside. An older lady walks up to me and asks how she could help me, and before I could say anything, felt it necessary to tell me my kids couldn’t come in without a mask. I literally was standing a foot inside, and they were 6 feet behind me outside, and had just told them to stay out. Then I told her what I’ve been dealing with. She looked me up and I guess it had been like just over 60 days since I was there and had my exam. She told me they couldn’t help me, and that I needed to set up an appointment for another exam. I had taken my son to America’s best the day before, because wal mart was all booked up and I needed to get his glasses adjusted to fit better. They were so much more pleasant that I will take my business there and never, EVER go back to the wal mart vision center, and I will go out of my way to tell others that they are unwilling to work with their patients beyond 60 days of an examination without trying to stick it to you for another exam. I wish zero stars could be given.
Everyone was very helpful and I would definitely recommend this location and Dr. PorterThank you!
Everyone was very polite and very helpful not only helping me pick my frames and fitting them before and after purchase, but also in making sure my lenses were ordered and came in correctly. Would highly recommend!
Dr. Porter was wonderful! I am farsighted with astigmatism and I have presbyopia because Im over 40. This is a difficult prescription to fill for contact lenses but I was adamant I was going to make it work. He was very patient with me while we tried a few strategies to make contacts work for me. He sent me home with a few trial pairs and it took 3 visits to perfect it but I can see great now and with comfortable contact lenses. I have tried several times with other places but my vision was just never good enough so I always resorted back to my glasses. I genuinely appreciate Dr. Porters patience as this is the first time I have ever been successful with contacts. I will be sure to come back!
I got steel in my eyes from a rail yard from a wire wheel... they took it out :D ... :) THANKS. the nice guy i forgot his name but he is a fantastic doctor. :)
Went in to order my contacts and have them shipped to my house. Well after waiting a week and not receiving them I call the store just to find out that they were shipped to the store and then SOLD TO SOMEONE ELSE!! And all they can do is reorder my contacts and ship them to my house. So now I’m stuck wearing glasses from over 5 years ago while I wait for my contacts. So upsetting
Horrible experience. The optometrist badly mismeasured my eyes and the optical department refused to do a total redo, saying the guarantee only covered the glasses, not the exam. I ended up throwing the damn glasses out.
