They carry a huge amount of items.. pretty much anything you need. Which is surprising since the store is not that big. The gentleman that works there, (possibly the owner not sure) is super friendly and helpful.. The pos system is a bit slow, and sometimes theres a bit of a wait, but not a big deal.. again, they carry just about everything!

The Dollar general on Ridgewood in Daytona Beach, needs more cashiers there were too many people waiting in line.At least 10 to 15. and this is a little after 5:00 p.m. very busy time. On a good note, this store has a bigger selection than the one on beach side. But it is a much bigger building....

Dollar General is always a great store to find unexpected items for excellent prices. I stop to visit any Dollar General I happen to find. Love the craft section!

Anytime Ive tried to call the store the phone just rings and Rings no answer or it goes through a phase whe.re you get a busy signal for a few days Ive never had a person answer the phone. It seems when an item is on clearance or on the clearance table and it rings full price the manager will say of no thats not supposed to be there which this has happened a few times. Be prepared to wait at least 10 minutes in line and line is always long they should have two people at the registers I dont feel as though they were properly scheduling. the cashier with the red hair the lady with the red hair,, shes always nice she never is in a bad mood...thank you

This a: very large, well stocked convenient store (around the corner of my home), prices are within means!

My sister called me to pick up butter and marshmallows before we arrived at her house for her first cooking extravaganza at her place. Thanksgiving 2020 everything was closed, ran into 7Eleven, butter sold out and of course they dont have marshmallows, but its NOT a supermarket. So we spotted the Dollar General in New Smyrna, went in and I was totally Wowwed! They have everything, I wanted to even start my Christmas shopping right then, boy I quickly hustled out because the guys were waiting in the car, while I ran in. But I swear, I am going to hit that place up, the prices are great and its not a Walmart! Cool stuff for house, cleaning goods, paper, cosmetics AND a nice fresh and frozen good food items, candy, balloons, toiletries, party goods at lots of cute gift and Holiday nicnacs! The staff were so friendly and social, I felt bad they had to work, but they dont seem to mind. When I thanked one of the cashiers for being an essential employee, she said, Oh, its ok, Im getting off to have dinner with my family and kids at 4:30. People like that can set a customers outlook on the whole day, just by being cool and friendly, blessings to her! I like that, everyone in good holiday spirit, when these days and times are so frugal. Dollar General is just awesome!

Some of the staff can be extremely rude & unprofessional. They asked my friend to remove his backpack, which I honestly didnt think was necessary so I called corporate about it. There is no law or no rule mentioned or supposed to be enforced unless its children. Only if there are more than three or four children together- They to take their backpacks off and leave them at the front, they must, or supposed to be with an adult...

Would not allow me (a motorcycle rider) to enter with my 100%real leather backpack...and would not be responsible and/or liable for it and/or any of the contents therein... I had the same problem with another franchise and a company that would not allow me to enter with my backpack but would allow any women enter with their personal bags/purses...But my disturbance is not discriminatory, even though its there...but the fact that they mentioned it to be a company policy and would not take responsibility for the very action that they are requesting of their customers... if you asked me to leave my backpack/personal bag/belongings... supply me with the proper means of a property receipt of all inventoried items that way I can enjoy not only my shopping but the piece of mind that my personal belongings are safe or at least insured....See...but this is why no company in the country can ask anyone to leave their personal belongings at the front/register... because if they do...they are liable...and that means that they would have to carry the insurance for it...Two companies have already had to educate every employee under this very same issue...Still considering whether I should pursue legal action against the very ignorance of the employees at this location....

I always have an interesting visit when at Dollar General.Today was no exception. Found a few things on my list and feel like I scored a hidden bonus, with a deeply discounted item I have need of!Friendly staff, with challenging other customers, still nice trip to a decent store.

Its a Dollar general... Theres not much to say about a Dollar General. However, about a year ago they hired a new general manager. I will say that he definitely has brought the morale of the employees up. They are always cheerful and welcoming.

This place is a joke every time I come here the line is 20 people long and this time I watch some raggedy lady come out of the back office talking on the phone ha ha Chi Chi and while there was 12 people in line she went up to the one cashier that was working hard and said say hi it’s my mom laughing went outside she smoked a cigarette and then her sorry self of a person came back inside and decided to open another register and help out after there was two people left in line raggedy as hell

I can always find the item(s) Im looking for. The folks who work there are courteous and know where EVERYTHING is located. And the Manager, Sandra is a hard working lady regardless of which store they send her to.

Andy and his staff are always friendly and helpful. However, corporate needs to do some serious maintenance on this building. I just left there, and it has been storming here today. They are quite literally ankle deep in water inside the store this evening. Shame on you, corporate, for not fixing the roof. No one should have to work in that kind of conditions.

Good to get a quick shopping trip at a good store in a place that has nothing exept has gas stations.

I just moved here to Daytona Beach. I live down the road from this store. I shop here all of the time, everyone is so nice there. This one particular day i happen to leave my wallet there. I had my debit and credit card in there plus all of my rent money for the month. I didnt even know i left it there. The store manager found my wallet went through it to find any phone numbers and he found my moms number and called her in Missouri and told her he has my wallet. Mom called me and then the next day i went and picked it up with nothing missing at all. I just want tp say i highly respect this man.. I wish more of us were like him. This world would be a better place! I owe him for being honest.. He refused any money i offered him.. Tell him about this review and give him and his staff a 5 star... Ill only shop at his store... He made me feel good about others and was very encouraging... Thank you sir for your honesty and integrity... Kevin

The employees in this store that actually wait on customers are fantastic. Management sucks. They have one person running a register when there is up to 10 people in line and the manager will not open a second register to get people out the door quickly.

I tried to call to let them know they have a problem with their gel air freshners all having black mold on them but they keep picking the phone up and hanging up on me when I try...so yeah...dont buy their air freshners...infant id probably stay away from that entire dollar isle
