Great selection, very organized, aisles labeled clearly, shelves labeled with subjects, awesome prices, and very friendly/helpful staff. I didnt go in for anything in particular, but I walked out with 3 books, of course. Would recommend going here for discounted books.

This place is Awesome! They have a ride range of books! You can Sale, Buy and/or Donate your books! The Customer service is quick, helpful and informative!

If you look and scavenge you can find some good deals here. Cool place, wish they had more of a funko pop selection but the atmosphere and customer service is great.

First off, the restroom was SURPRISINGLY clean, even more so than most hotels Ive been to... The selection of books was fantastic and I will fully recommend this little shop to anyone in the market. Theres also a decent selection of vintage gaming gear, including PSP games! You can also sell old books to the store if youre interested in that avenue.

I love books! It was great being in my local bookstore. And this place gave me that down home local bookstore feel. Perfect size and great organization of books and material. I should have asked if they take donated books...because I have so many. Well, if you are ever in the area, this store is located on Decatur Road in the plaza next to Wal-Mart. The staff is friendly and very helpful!

Cool place to resell books.. my kid likes going in there

I recently took a big box of books here to sell. Well, needless to say, I was offered the bare minimum, like $12.00. I was at least expecting a fair offer. I know used books are not worth a lot, but this store buys your books for nothing and then sells them for way more than they paid. They rely on the fact that you dont want to transport your books back home. Dont take your books here. Sell your books on EBAY or Mercari or donate them to a worthy cause. Con artists at work in this establishment.

Most of their books are like new, selections are constantly updated, and I get more books for my buck. I highly recommend checking them out.

They currently are limiting your shopping time to 30 minutes. I had never seen such a sign in any retail business since Covid started, and thought it was a great idea. They also request customers to wear a mask. Once in line for check out, there is a circle on the floor, indicating where to stand in order to keep a safe distance from the customer at the register. I purchased two gently used childrens board books this time, but in the past I have purchased board books, cookbooks and new puzzles.

Awesome selection and prices. I would give it five stars but I bought a used items that had terrible dried up battery acid & had to spin an hour not only cleaning it but trying to fix the battery unit, so that my child could play with his new educational device.

My daughter and I go here weekly to browse and buy. Staff is super friendly and they have a great selection of books and movies. Their kids section is awesome.

This store is just not the same anymore. The pricing has gone and they do not check the movies anymore to make sure they are in the cases and not scratched up. Very disappointed as it used to be one of my favorite places.

The place has really good finds for really cheap helpful workers and very nice but when you trade stuff in it seems they give you like 1.00$ for like a movie then sell that same movie for 15.00$ but they do gotta make money

Nice bookstore with a wide range of books, movies and dvds. The staff is polite and helpful. The only negative is you get back a tiny amount for the items you sell to them. I read large print books Ill donate them instead.

They mandate masks in their store, which is wonderful. It seems that Ive discovered a hidden treasure with the wide selection to choose from!

Its an actual bookstore with actual books! Largely remaindered and used but really pretty solid. Theyve a solid selection of cds, lps, and dvds.They even have laser discs! Theyve a discount section too.

Just what my son was looking for! He bought over 10 books!

I have sold books to video games to them, honestly they will in most cases give you something but I would say its a last resort. I have some video games and books in my trunk that I have been driving around for months with and just couldnt find buyers for so when I end up in the parking lot of the plaza I was okay with getting some money from them. If you are selling your college textbooks here do it within the last week of finals to get the most money you can like most college buyback shops. On the hand of finding a ton of books, records, dvds, video games and etc. you can possibly find them at an okay price. Dont know if I can recommend them for buying more than a hanging out place where you can read a bunch of cool books.

Recently we took a new board game, 2 Lego themed Nintendo Switch games, some dvds including one full season of a show, a large hardback Zelda book, and some other random books to sell to Half Price Books. HPB offered us $9. $9!! We said no thank you. Yesterday we took those same items plus three records to a local used book store and they offered us $46 in cash or $75 in trade. Knowing that HPB was trying to royally rip us off, makes me no longer want to patronize any of their stores because I know they are ripping off the people that they get a lot of their merchandise from. I dont recommend this store, at all!

I used to stop by here every other week, but theyve become too stingy with their offers. Im pretty sure its about 2 or 3% of their resell price. At that point, Id rather just donate to Goodwill.

I have never had anything but excellent service from this location. The selection is varied all the time but always good. Their policies on buying items are fair and the prices they give are excellent.

The employees at the Decatur location we absolutely amazing! They took so much time helping me find appropriate books for my 3 children. I can not recommend them enough!!

Hands down one of my favorite places! They offer great prices for books that you sell, have coffee up front, and do good in the community by donating books to non-profits! Their selection is fantastic, and you can always find a deal. You can also bring your pet inside with you (assuming theyre well-behaved). Love love love this place!

Speaking only about the Decatur location, the staff is consistent (same people, so you get to know them), and they are very helpful & polite. Im always treated very well. Additionally, they are taking C19 precautions seriously.

Half Price Books is a fun store. Used, and some new, books, music (albums, cds), games, toys, posters. Lots of cute interesting things for kids and adults. Well organized by topic. You can always find something you want! Selling books is easy & theyll give any the dont want to buy to charity IF YOU WANT. You dont get much for your books, unless they are sought after books, like recently published best sellers or the books in a series when a new onespublished, or if its popular because its in the news or the author recently passed away.

I love this location! I feel like they do a better job of pricing when it comes to buys from the community and I feel that they also have a staff that knows what their community wants. Came to sell my books. Didnt get as much as I thought I would, but still enjoyed exploring the store. Their customer service is EXCELLENT so I was very pleased with that.

I was super impressed with the selection. Even a few smaller/older authors I was looking for I found with ease. It’s clean. And I found the people working there to be lovely.

Awesome used book store! Having lived in Texas where I had several close to me, it sucks to have to drive 4 hrs from Charlotte NC to get here. But I still do!Bathrooms are always clean, and the people are always friendly.I love this place!Definitely worth your time to visit!

I found a book about nudibranchs here for $5. Couldn’t be happier. Pretty much cleaned out their nature section. They were kind enough to offer me some boxes and a cart to take my treasures to the car. 10/10 would shop again.

Always room for improvement. One thing I dont like is the albums on bottom shelves. As a senior I find myself on my knees to look for them. Fix that and youll get a 5 star.

I love this bookstore. They have records, CDs (I’m a CD fanatic), games, books, little gadgets and pins, old comics, journals, etc. The staff is so nerdy and know their selections inside and out. I love it! They make me remember why I love to read and I’m always excited to visit. I’m slowly becoming an avid reader again! 🥰

As a book store it was amazing, but someone had described it to me as something like 2nd and Charles. This was only partially true, as there was a wide selection of games, they were all clumped together, and it just wasnt what I was expecting. If they were to expand this section even a little bit Id enjoy it much more.
