I absolutely recommend this location!! After searching for a place to get my headlights replaced for days, I had almost given up! I saw this Car X as I was driving and thought I’d see if they could replace the bulbs for me (I hadn’t heard of them prior to today, so I wasn’t sure if they were strictly tires or something). When I went in, the gentleman at the front desk was super accommodating and reassuring that it wouldn’t take me a few days or “several hours” as I had been quoted at plenty of other locations over the phone. He just said “I should have it done in 1:30-2 hours and I’ll try to get to it sooner if possible”. I was out of there in under an hour, and they were plenty busy, they just knew how to handle themselves and have excellent turnaround! All in all I was so thankful and will definitely recommend them to anyone in the area!!

Darrell and his crew were extremely helpful and professional. I’m new-ish to the area and had a nail in my tire. I called 7 places but they were either rude or too busy and wouldn’t even try to squeeze me in. Darrell and Car-X, though also very busy, told me to come in right away and they’d squeeze me in. I would highly recommend Darrell and his crew at Car-X any day!

From the time I went in, I felt less anxious. Darryl was very knowledgeable and of course professional. He walked me through everything and all without insulting my intelligence. I have bragged to my friends and family about how great this experience was for me. Try them, you wont regret it.

Daryl was very professional, honest, and kind. This is my go to place from now on since it is hard to find a shop with people you can trust. Meineke abruptly cancelled my appointment and now I am glad they did because I called Car-X and Daryl told me to immediately bring it in and within the same day my car is fixed. Car x was the only repair shop that I contacted to get my brakes done that drove the car around to get a feel of issues. And they didnt lie or try to trick me into spending more money than I needed to like other shops, the price was very fair too.

Im fom Wisconsin and was finishing a job up in Fairview Heights today, getting ready to go home when my water pump went out ( about 4 pm ) brought it over to them and they stayed late to get me back on the road so i could get home to my family, this place is top notch!! Absolutely HORRIBLE. HORRRRRRIBLE service. I regret stepping into this place. I’ve had issues none stop since I got these tires. They sold me “run flat” tires but actually weren’t run flat. I didn’t even know run flat existed until I walked into that shop.. Since I moved to the west coast, they’re unable to help me or correct their mess up’s. I took my car to a shop out here in California and they were horrified that I had standard tires on a class e vehicle, meaning my weight rating needed heavy tires. The manager told me I could bring them back and that he only installs what the customer wants. In what world would I want tires that could blow? Wasted $580 on tires, now another $950 on new tires. Absolute trash of a company and service.

I really appreciate Darryl and the team. Cars don’t go out when it’s convenient but I really appreciated Darryl and his empathy but the fine line between that and being straightforward with what needs to be done and what could wait.I highly recommend these guys

I just had a starter installed on my 2006 Fusion. I contacted several repair places before I chose this facility. I called and asked if they can replace a starter before I had the car towed to the facility. I was informed about the diagnosis fee but was not given the price of the repair until after I had it towed there. Mechanic 1 told $500 to replace the starter. Mechanic 2 said $400 after taxes. CarX originally told me $700 to replace the starter. I told them not to repair the car and Ill have repaired somewhere else. The mechanic followed up that he will price match other facilities if they sent over their prices. Mechanic 2 sent over the prices and CarX allegedly honored the price so I said go ahead and repair the car. CarX installed a duralast starter which range from $175-200. CarX charged me $340 for the starter. Starters come with a lifetime or limited lifetime warranty. This facility charged me an additional $101 for the warranty or there wouldnt be a warranty. The final price for this facility was $536. Their labor fee is $139 an hour which this job took less than an hour. Price gouging at its best and then the mechanic seemed to have an attitude when I was asking questions about the charges. I wouldnt recommend this facility to anyone. They will never have my business again. By the way, I bought 4 brand new tires from them 2 years ago so I was trying to patronize them. NEVER AGAIN.

My experience with Car X (Fairview Heights, IL) was top notch as usual. Bought my daughter a new set of tires for a van she and her boyfriend bought to travel the country and the install went perfectly, thanks to the manager Chris Seper and his crew of professionals.They showed my daughter and her bf underneath and pointed out things to keep an eye on.Ive been a regular customer for almost 2 years and have always been happy.EDITED ON Sept 04, 2021:I have since learned that the former manager (Chris Seper) lied when he sold my daughter the tires. They were not run-flat as he stated and she did not have a nation-wide tire warranty (again as he stated). The management of this CarX group would not remedy the situation.I do not use this CarX location (nor any of the locations in this ownership group) and am very disappointed in their treatment of me, as a customer (one who over the years has spent a lot of money with them).

Took my car in due to a check engine light and the car was running funny. They said they fixed it but the check engine light came back on with the same code. They said they fixed it again. Then $1100 later it’s still on. Now they said it’s $1800 to fix it. Lost my business.

I called to see if I can drop my car off and asked if it will be checked today he said yes I made sure multiple times dropped it off at 10am. When I dropped it off he said it will take 1hr. A couple hours later didnt hear anything. Went up there they only half checked it and said they wasnt going to finish checking it until next day.

$180 got a tire just mounted On the rim & tire just a trailer 15.. had to wait some time before the guy showed up witch we had to pay extra 50 or so (it was 5 on a Saturday) and several other b/s fees

This is a place that i would not recommend everything is all about getting more money out of you. They completed a tune up on my vehicle and done it incorrectly which cause my vehicle to have leaks and cause my throttle body to crash all together! After getting the run around on my second trip i decided to take my money to someone that i can trust with my vehicle and my life as well. I was not satisfied with there services at all

I had an exhaust issue with my old Ford truck. But I couldnt target the problem. The catalytic converter, muffler & all the pipes looked good.  The manager, Chris, had his guys run an exhaust system diagnostic & found a thin crack in the seal of the muffler which couldnt be seen with the naked eye.  Because of my vehicles age Ford stopped manufacturing the muffler & there were no OEM suppliers.  Chris performed an exhaustive online search for a generic muffler.   He finally found one & his guys performed an expert welding job.  Ive patronized this shop several times in the past & I have never been disappointed.  I also like the fact that they hire young technicians eager to perfect their trade & specialize in doing things right the first time.

Me and my husband took my Subaru to the Car X in Fairview Heights, IL. and this was one of the best experiences Ive had when taking my car somewhere to get it fixed. First, the customer service was outstanding! Thanks Christian you were great and he got us the best deals! Second, Tom the MASTER MECHANIC explained everything to us in detail and did not try to sell us anything we didnt need. Tom you are AWESOME! And last, when I told them that I was gonna have to call off of work to wait for my car, Christian offered me a ride to work nearby and they picked me up. The young man named Sam took me to work safely and picked me up and when we arrived back at Car X my vehicle was finished. Sam you ROCK! We will take all of our vehicles here from now on and will tell others to do the same! VERY HAPPY CUSTOMER!! Im sure all of the mechanics were nice people, but Christian, Tom and Sam were the ones we interacted with and went over and beyond for us!! Well be back, but hopefully not too soon!! Ha

I go to car x quit frequently as I drive a lot. From my experiences so far, no matter the location, I can confidently say that I trust these people and the customer service is always genuine.Speaking from my perspective as a young women; I can say that I have never been made to feel uncomfortable, less than, or unintelligent, which if you’ve been unlucky enough to experience in such an environment you know it’s not very pleasant. CarX 10/10 would go again, as I do.

Awesome people and great service

In July 2019 I purchased 4 brand new tires and with that purchased a lifetime warranty. The lifetime warranty I purchased guarantees wheel alignment, tire rotation and balancing. I made this purchase through Alex, the store manager at the time. Since making this purchase, I have attempted to get my car serviced multiple times using my lifetime warranty (tire rotation, balance, alignment). I have been turned away each time. The first time in February 2020. I scheduled a tire rotation and was told my lock-key(s) were to damaged and that they keep spinning off the lock-lugs. These were the original lock-keys that were purchased with the car from the dealer. The new and current store manager Chris Seper informed me to get new lock-keys.I came back again April 2020 with a new lock-key. After my car had been at the shop for an hour or so, I received a call from CarX informing me the lock-key was the wrong one and was not properly fitting into the lock-lug. During this visit in particular, Chris and another mechanic (slim guy with hat) noted that the tires needed to be rotated. The back tires’ tread was deeper than the front tires. I questioned Chris: “Why was Car-X able to put the new tires on, but can’t perform the services to maintain the purchase there-after?”. He informed me that lock-keys are very delicate and it doesn’t take much for them to be defective. He told me there was nothing he can do and come back when I had working keys. I was again turned away and denied a “Guaranteed Service”.July 6, 2020, I scheduled an 11am Tire Rotation & Balance at Car X. Prior to taking my car I purchased 2 new lock-keys. I and gave to Chris (the manager) a brand new lock-key. After a couple of hours of dropping the car off, I received a call from Chris informing me that Car-X is incapable of rotating and balancing the tires again. I came back to the shop and asked Chris to show me what was going on. I walked into the shop and Chris and the mechanic showed me how they were attempting to take of the tire. He showed me the inside of the newly-purchased lock-key and it was damaged. He then put the new lock-key on the lock-lug and attempted to take it off in front of me; the key never locked on. The brand-new lock-key that I had just given to Chris upon arrival for this appointment was completely stripped and the lock-key was spinning off.After seeing this, I asked Chris and some other mechanics in the shop if they ever attempted to take the lock-lug off with a simple torque wrench. Chris noted that they would never do that, and that is wasn’t company policy. Now this key was ruined, but I asked Chris if I could try it with a torque wrench, while they watched. I pulled out another newly-purchased lock-key and Chris handed me a torque wrench as me and two other mechanics walked to the front passenger-side tire; I put lock-key on the lock-lug and removed the lock-lug very easily. After doing this Chris and the other mechanics commented “they have never seen something like that before in their life.” Chris then ordered a mechanic to take my car out of the shop and kicked me out of the shop! informing me to take my car elsewhere! Once he kicked me out I truly felt ostracized from the other customers in the shop; especially in light of the social injustices commonly occurring. It is now September 21, 2020 and have yet to receive service and my shakes now when on the highway. I fear it will only get worse with winter coming. After making contact with Corporate months ago in Overland, MO I have yet to receive service or any reciprocated communication. Car-X had no problem accepting my money; but then denied me of service and then kicking me out. This whole ordeal truly shows the lack of concern Car-X has for SAFETY and integrity when it comes to the customers that patronize them.

When you think of heroes, you probably think of our military, family members, sports figures, or superman. Well, I think of all those things, but there is one more thing that I think about, and that Car-X, specifically Chris, Mike, Sam, and Jason, who work at Car-X in Fairview Heights, Illinois. Im going to tell you about the best car experience that my friend and I have ever had.My buddy and I were on a road trip from NC, and our old 1988 Chevy Van broke down just outside of Fairview Heights. An 88 Chevy van breaking down may not have come as a surprise to us or anybody, but we were still greatly disappointed because our trip looked to be over. We ended up getting towed to Car-X, and our morale was at an all-time low. And at this point, we didnt know if we would even be able to drive home. Everyone we previously talked to couldnt pin down the problem, but the Car-X crew got to work immediately. Chris and Sam were motivated to find the problem. They pinned down the problem pretty quickly, but it was almost closing time.My friend and I figured that we were probably stuck for another day, and our trip would be done. And not being from anywhere near Fairview Heights, we felt hopeless. Chris, the shop manager, wanted to help in any way he could. He helped us find a hotel, AND he dropped us off at the hotel so that we wouldnt have to pay for an uber. And possibly the most insane part out of all of this (and probably the most important) was that Chris and Sam went AFTER HOURS to find the part that our van needed. By finding the part that night, it gave us the possibility of leaving the next day. Ive seriously never been to any store that had employees go so far out of their way for their customers besides maybe a Chick-fil-A, but this takes the top seed. The next day Chris, Mike, and Jason were all working on the van in order to get us out on time. And Mike might be the best mechanic ever he knew it all, and he got the engine running like it was 1988 again. Not only did the Car-X crew fix the van, but they were also teaching us everything about it as they went. By the end of the whole experience, we almost felt like we worked there, and we ended up knowing everything there is about a Chevy Van. Chris also got the price down as low as he could even though they basically had to tune up the entire engine. These guys literally saved our trip entirely, and without them, we wouldnt have made it. Car-X in Fairview Heights has a place in our hearts forever.

I’d like to thank Chris personally for being such a nice guy. I was parked at a local gas station to put a little gas in and as I turned my car on. Chris was yelling outside my window saying “your gas is leaking!” So I turned off my car immediately and he introduced himself and such. And he looked at it for me and told me my gas pump was out of place of which was causing the leak. And he offered to fix it enough so that I could drive back home but unfortunately my car was stacked with boxes from a recent move and he also didn’t have his tools with him. So I eventually said I’d call a tow truck which I did. But Chris stayed and talked with me about cars and just this act of kindness really help me calm down with the whole situation. He told me he’s really interested in helping people and that really struck me. So I really appreciated all his help and he even drove me home for he also was headed that way! Definitely would go to this company for anything. And ask for Chris he knows his stuff and he will give you some good laughs and good company. Thanks Chris!

Best customer service Ive had in a while. I had just driven in from Chicago for work (approximately 4.5 hours) and as I got into town my check tires had come on. Knowing that I had to drive back the next day, I wanted to get the tires checked asap, better safe than sorry. I googled and found the nearest car/tire shop and found this gem. I called and spoke to Alex, who was amazing from the very start. He told me to come on in and would take a look at it. He checked the tires and normalized the pressure and showed me how to check it from my car as well. He took the time and explained and showed me everything and I cannot express how much I appreciated it! Thank you so much Alex for being amazing at what you do!! 😃😃 Highly highly recommend this place!!!

I use to work there the technicians is good and honest but Alex is a better manager wish he was back. When i was working there the new manager yell at me and say I dont belong there and sad part is I have a learning disability.

Emergency Tire Patch Whilst I Was In Town Visiting Parents: Was scheduled to leave the next day for a four-hour drive, and needed a quick, but also safe & thorough repair after a nail was found in my tire. The guys at Car-X Fairview Heights were super understanding of my situation. Service was fast and friendly from start to end, and I left feeling like my car was placed in great hands, and that I would have a safe drive home. I HIGHLY recommend this place for your tire and auto needs, they are fantastic, A+++. Cheers!

I had a great experience at Car-X today.

We were told the tires would be at the store by noon the next day to bring the car up then. So we did, then we left for 2 hours came back and the tires were still not at the store. Asked them how much longer Chris stated the driver will have them here by 4pm and your car will be finished by 4:30pm. 4:15pm came and still no tires. This time my mom called up and spoke with Chris because I’m only 18 and with all that is going on she does not like me to leave our little town let alone be in a major city of Fairview for over 4 hours. Chris called his driver Dave and he said he was 5 min away, so Chris once again stated car Will be ready 20-30 minutes, car will be ready by 4:45pm, driver did not get there until around 4:40 and my car was not finished until after 5:30pm!

He proceeded to inquire what my needs were for the visit and assured me that the issues would be resolved by his team of technicians.As I was being processed, a service technician walked through and greeted me in a professional manner. How re-assuring! After the diagnosis, I received a phone call from Mr. Andrews who thoroughly explain the problems and the cost associated with the resolve. I highly recommend Chris, manager of CarX Fairview Heights.  My brother was having an issue with his Subaru. He first took his car to the dealership who told him that he needed an entirely new and extremely expensive muffler.  He went to CarX Fairview Heights for a second opinion. Chris immediately realized he did NOT need a new muffler, but a simple replacement of the flange that he was able to accomplish as we waited.  This took care of the problem and was MUCH less expensive than replacing the muffler.  Chris is trustworthy, honest, reliable, responsive and customer service oriented. Chris and his CarX team definitely earned our trust!

Had a tire that was loosing air, they were able get me in and find the source of the leak quickly. They had to order a new tire for me. The mounted the spare tire to get me by over the weekend and had the new tire mounted and balanced ready to install when I got off work on Monday! Great customer service will certainly go back for future tire work if needed!

I had initially taken my vehicle in on July 7th for an A/C issue. Yes, a part under the dash was bad, ordered from dealership back later that day to have installed. The shop foreman was working on my vehicle. He stated, I think it’s this part. I didn’t run the wiring to make sure.Moving along to July 29th.....driving to Texas and I have the same issue. A/C not working properly. I called from Texas, spoke with Chris and made an appointment. Went back in on Aug. 5th. Well, the cabin filter needed to be changed, the blower motor was going out a resistor had overheated and the original part had to be replaced. Ok, ordered same part from dealership to be replaced on Aug. 6th. Waited all day, part should have been there by 1:00pm. Supposedly it arrived close to closing time..... Made an appointment for 8:00am on Aug. 7th. I was there at 7:50am. The labor time is 30 minutes per their program. I finally left at 9:30am! At one point all of the mechanics were at the far end of the shop bay talking and laughing! I guess since everything had already been paid for they were in NO hurry to complete the job!!!Well, I will no longer utilize this Car-X as customer service means very little to them! I know the owner will not comment or do anything. That is apparent from previous negative reviews from other customers.It really is a shame that this Car-X has gone downhill.If you use this Car-X, beware!!!!

Ive been going to CarX for years now and they have always taken good care of my 2003 Kia Sorento. I don’t feel the need to get a new vehicle as my truck gets the TLC it needs (front end alignment...rack & pinion assembly). Theyve been transparent and consistent with their assessments, performance and billing. I really appreciate being able to rely on their professional and courteous service. Thank you!

I decided to try Car-X, for a muffler repair. The lobby was clean and the staff was polite and professional. The mechanic that looked at my muffler system, gave me a honest assessment. I only needed a muffler, not the intire exhaust system, which i was expecting them to say. I was initially happy to hear that it was just the muffler, that needed to be replaced, and was sure it wouldnt be too expensive. Boy was i wrong. They gave me a quote of $868. I priced the cost of parts before arriving, attempting to arm myself with some information, so i wont get ripped off. The most expensive muffler i found, in the local auto parts stores and the internet, was $81. They wanted to charge me $318, for just the muffler. Thats about four times markup. An attempt to rip me off. I had them give me an estimate on another repair, that i had mentioned, when i was happy to find out i only needed a muffler. Anyway, they did the repair. It was more than i expected to pay, but oh well, at least a professional mechanic is doing the job, right? After i payed and drove off the lot, no less than five minutes down the road, my engine temperature guage spiked hot. I shut my engine down right away. I opened my hood and looked at my coolant reservoir, and it was clear, like water. My vehicle requires dexcool coolant, and it is orange in color. I had topped off my system just a few days before, with dexcool, 50/50. Theses guys failed to burp my system and an air bubble had formed, causing the engine to over heat. Any professional mechanic should have known to do that before allowing me to drive off the lot. They had drained all my coolant and replaced it with water. If i was not paying attention, i could have damaged my engine.Dont trust these people. They are not what they seem to be.

Was having tire noise issues had been to 2 other businesses with no “fix”. I was very impressed with how thorough, professional fast these guys were. The employee that addressed my issue was Alex and he was so knowledgeable. The noise is gone!!!! Will definitely go back and recommend!

I had my daughters car towed there on Friday and went out of town the guy Chris called me and said it will cost 3000 dollars to fix so i wasnt ready to get it fixed so he called me on Saturday and said it will be 1600 dollars to fix and i needed to make a decision today because the truck couldnt stay there so my question was how could you go from 3000 to 1600 so i decided to have it towed away i got the part for 400 dollars and got it fixed for 200 dollars ladies be careful the guy Chris is so thirsty to get your money take a man with you that knows something about cars

Made an appointment for a dual flowmaster muffler installation on my 2016 Cadillac. Employee guaranteed on phone that job would be completed same day. I arrived 20 min prior to appt time and still had to wait an hour after designated time to be seen. After an outrageous initial quote and some haggling was quoted 244 bucks for the job. I agreed, and suddenly employee stated that he wasnt sure if it could be done same day. Would not give me an answer either way and wasted 2.5 hrs of my time.Additionally, I was denied a military discount. I had done business with CarX before and reveived it but this time was told it couldnt be applied.I will shop with Meineke from now on. Totally unprofessional.Do NOT GO.

This place is horrible. I called and made an appointment and the guy didn’t have my appointment down when I came in. The worker was extremely rude and unprofessional and to top it off I took my car to Honda and they confirmed that the service I requested and paid for was not even completed. This place is a joke, take your car elsewhere.

I just picked my truck up from having an alignment done and im extremely satisfied with my experience. To start off they were able to squeeze me in right before closing and upon arrival I was greeted with excellent customer service by Sean. I was able to check in, explain what I needed and be out the door in 5 minutes. When I picked my truck up, Sean was able to spot on describe my alignment issues without even seeing my old tires. Needless to say I will be bringing my vehicles back!

Every time I come to this car x everyone is awesome, but I want to give special notice and thanks to Alex and Cliff, they really took care of me and my vehicle and Cliff came to pick me up from my job the days I needed. Awesome crew!! Very professional!!

Went into my dealer where I purchased my CPO 2012 Malibu for an oil change and possible brake issues. I have $500 credit there so figured I would use it. Come to find out, that $500 could only be used in $25 increments. Left with an estimate of $700 to replace all brakes and rotors and they couldnt even start until tomorrow morning. On top of that, guy informs me that I had free oil changes that have expired. I sure didnt, but thanks for bringing that up I guess?Frustrated, I called around (at 4pm) and was able to bring my car in to Carx asap. I was quoted $600 for all brakes/rotors, could possibly have it done by tomorrow morning. That works fine with me because I drive to and from St. Louis every day for work.These guys blew me away. Not only did they have it done within two hours, they saved me OVER HALF of what my dealer was charging. On top of that, my rear pads still have 50% left and dont need replaced. Within 2 hours, these guys saved me a ton of money and stress. THANK YOU!!
