We specifically went to check out some sweets. Prices are reasonable compared to sweet shops in other parts of East Bay area.We picked up a box of Angoori Petha. Its a unique kind of sweet dish popular in central India. They also offer a wide variety of snacks and combo meals, but the seating capacity is limited. It was almost full when we visited. The board outside says that its the first Indian Restaurant in Fremont. Thats awesome!!!Will surely visit again when Im in the area.
This papri chaat is so gross just yogurt, chatni and some boiled potatoes garbanzos and papri, no onions, or cilantro 🌿 stuff on it what so ever. There was a stall inside of some other grocery store in Fremont, their chaat was much better than this place . That auntie relocated somewhere that I dont know the new place, I use to get it from her all the time.
Went to buy sweets for Diwali. Have different choices available. Its 12.00/ lb. on most of the sweets.
Nice Indian sweets available here. Variety quality price awesome combo. Always come here
This place claims to be the oldest Indian restaurant in the Bay Area… open since 1988 .. they are famous for their gur jalebi… we were not very impressed with it. There are better places for jalebi nearby.
Not only did they forget parts of our order, but the food quality was horrible. The food felt heavy, stale, and the mango lassi was extremely bitter to the taste. I don’t know why after so many years their quality went down, because I’ve been coming here since I was kid and it was never this bad. I hope they fix it somehow, but I don’t think I’ll be ordering food from here anymore. Really sucks that it had to come to this point.
One of the better places in Bay Area for Jalebi. Tip: Have them hot..
The lady at the counter was really rude. If you took anything below $20 you are not good enough for a service. She wont even bother giving you details. The other people were more reasonable. The taste is okay. Jalebis tasted a little oily. Prices are also a little on higher end but glad that there is a store selling Indian sweets.
Not too friendly, lacking customer service skills.
Been eating their cholay bhatura since forever. 20+ yrs. I am a non veg but this is one of my fav dish. The whole family went there first time after the pandemic. Bhatura was excellent like always but cholay were definitely undercooked. And trust me first time in 20 25 years. Kind of disappointing but still in the list of good veg restaurants
If below one star was possible I’d go for that! The food here is incredibly HORRIBLE! Will make you sick, it’s old, greasy and has a strange smell all around. The sweets are not fresh either and have same slightly lesser smell. It is the worst Indian food I have eaten, not just on Bay Area, may be ever. Some people have mentioned in reviews that’s it’s the best food, I am shocked!!Please stay away. There are so many more decent places than this.
Simply stating Superb Hot Jalebis.... worth driving down to get some !!!
I cane here after almost 10 years ordered 3 orders thinking it would be packed separatly since it was for 3 different people but it all got packed together I wish you would clarify before you do that since it was for others at work and in this day and age people are a bit more careful with sharing and handling by several people. Food was ok
This place sells the most expensive rasmalai that I know of. We still used to go there because if the taste and quality. But the quality and size of this sweet has degraded drastically . Today the taste of rasmalai was HORRIBLE . And they also charged 9$ for 5 PCs which is pretty high . I am never going here again !!!!
HORRIBLE SERVICE!! Lady at the counter was so rude. If i could give 0 stars I would. My dad ordered indian chai to go as she tried handing it to us it kept spilling everywhere and the lid was falling off. Woman at the counter didn’t care enough to change the cup she just threw the cup into another cup. We will never eat here again. When we asked for a different cup she rudely said “go over there and figure it out yourself.”
Sweets here are great. Food is also good.
Samosas are very fresh and authentic. Rasamalai is also tasty. But the rest of the sweets are mediocre, dry and not upto the mark.
Jalebis are fresh and so are the Samosas. Make sure to call in advance for a large order of samosas as they are made fresh.Food is good, especially the buffet before the pandemic (Covid).
Delicious food, too many starter options, good service, reasonable price too 😋🥗🍽
This was almost legendary status in Fremont for Indian cuisines before sometimes a place live on past reputation I came back after 10 years and charge me tax on take out for 2 samosas. ! LOLTry Cash and Carry across the street have a vibrant Indian cooking display in the back - super service and chaat and simple food and Chai..
Too many sweets variety. Delicious motichoor laddoo and pedha.
Purchased jilabi. Tasty and crispy.
Good collection of sweets.
Great for Indian sweets..!!
Would never ever go here again, ordered lunch box, and they totally got the wrong items.. Even though there was only 3 items to choose from. Unfortunately I was back at work and didnt have enough time to go back. I called them to let them know they messed up, n they argued with me that they game me chicken Tikka masala when they gave me a vegetarian dish. And said u suck lol, what ever that is about. Im Indian, I know what aloo matar is.. Its not the same thing as chicken Tikka masala. Save your money and go to one of the other places, its Fremont theres plenty of em out there
Normal food not high quality or low quality. Prices are between low and high.
Best north Indian food in bay area. And dont forget the sweets, especially the jalebi :) And the new malai ghevar is exquisite!
The chicken curry is so good. Defenetly be coming back.
Buffet was good with wide variety of choices for both vegetarian and non-vegetarian. The food was delicious, however the only bad thing was the breads werent served warm and fresh to us on the table. We had to ask them to bring fresh made breads and get less quantity so that it doesnt get cold and hard. Liked the curries and tea. Desserts were just average. For this rate, I would say it is a good place overall.
This is one of the oldest restaurants on Fremont.Lots of sweets and choices on the menu - but none of them are tasty. These folks haven’t changed any of their food recipes a bit. All preparations are very oily and heavy use of same onion base for all curries. You can try 10 different curries they all taste the same. They have good samosas and Good place for jalebi. Other sweets are really dry and loaded with sugar but not taste.Only good for some snacks. Not good for anything else. Not at all for lunch or dinner.
People are so reluctant to even ask what I want and when I asked for a sample from past bad experience to see whether the sweets are fresh they refused to give and said they dont have any samples and I came for a purchase of a big order. They name themselves family business owner from 1990s and dont know how to treat a customer. Anyways good luck to them✌️
Fremonts first indian restaurant! Authentic cuisine made spicy and fresh.
Ive only been there once. I had the lamb rogan josh and it was very good.
Very delicious and diverse amount of south Asian dessert! The food is also tasty and service is good.Do support this local family owned business. Authentic flavours and nice variety.
Amazing sweets... loved it.... best part is they have ghewar... and it was good too...
Excellent service and awesome tasting food. Very convenient location right off the 5 & 58 junction. If you ask for spicy they will make it so and it was fantastic. Very authentic taste and the food was fresh.
We ordered Chole Bhature and Chole Puri from this place, they delivered only one pack of Chole, which were not even sufficient for a single person. I don’t understand how are they trying to save on the quantity of food delivered to the customer. The Chole was tasteless and made in the worst oil possible. Also their Puris are the worst I have ever eaten in my entire life. They were as thick as Bhaturas. This place is a blot on the name of Indian cusine.
We ordered chicken and goat biryani. Cannot imagine a biryani is like veg pulav with chicken/goat. It had pees in it. Moreover, drown in oil and tasteless. Would suggest not to order biryani there.
What a worst experience!!! We were so hungry..We were looking for great food..Unfortunately we end up on this place..We ordered chole Bature with Golgappe..The channa was too oily and they gave only 7 bature but we ordered 10..And the lady at front was very rude and gave us really horrible service.
I had take out with my husband. We shared the lamb curry medium and it was not too hot and absolutely tender and delicious. We also shared Pulao Rice, vegetable samosas, garlic naan and raita. Every thing tasted homemade and fresh. Plenty of food with leftover rice. Try the Pulao rice it has a curry base with vegetables. Definitely will try some other dishes from there extensive menu. The pastries really did look intriguing. I will try them next time.
Good, edible food. Reasonable prices. Service could be better.
Best Indian food in the area, and the area has many. Im a regular, stopped going to any of the others. In particular, if you like extremely spicy, they can accommodate.
The food had so much excess oil, had 5 orders but food was only for about 3. Would not recommend
Oh my God it was not anything like what I expected..The food was out of taste..The service was ok and the staff wasn’t friendly at all..
Very tasty food at a reasonable price and good staff even
Very disappointed with their order. Got cockroach today, will never buy from the store at Fremont.
Nice indian sweet shop... you can order anything they will make for you
Good food but I ordered too much Naan.
Pathetic food.. giving it one star as this is the minimum I can rate. It seems restaurant doesnt care about customers and not even about themselves and have no Shame serving such a rotten stale food.
Restaurant is always EMPTY, please run away when you still can.Very rude and inconsiderate people with ZERO customer service. Food isn’t that great eitherONE OF THE BEST PLACES TO RUIN YOUR INDIAN EXPERIENCE!!!
Its good, too many options for sweets
Disaster Experience..I have ordered goat biryani in online, the food is not fresh, I never tried this kind of biryani so far, in-fact this is not biryani, what we call is pulao.. which is so bad. I cant put them in words. I just trashed it. I definitely dont recommend, if you are looking for good biryani(Hyderabadi Biryani). I would give negative rating if i have an option for that.
Samosas and Jalebis are good others are smelling like reused oil and sweets are tasteless.
I went for a buffet lunch on a weekday with 20 other colleagues. The food was pathetic. Biryani was the worst one I ever had in my life. My friends who were not Indians also recognized the low quality of food. And the lady who manages is a very rude person. Please dont choose this place especially when going with friends.
Very authentic food. Great buffet
Really a place to taste the sweets of India. This location has a variety of sweet collection and are available throughout the year. Special jilebi is available aswell! Has a dine in aswell and serves vegetarian.
Unfriendly staff.Made me feel like Jalebi chor when I asked for a small taste sample to try before I buy Jalebi.Their Jalebi no where close to Rangoli near Sunnyvale
Sweets and snacks are good. Meals are a bit expensive.
Good service really good food good place to eat
I went there with my family on 7/20/19. My dad wanted to taste mathhi, indian snack. The waiter asked the owner lady and she got offended. Maybe she was in bad mood. She started bickering with her daughter in the back which i could hear it. She could have simply said that we dnt give samples.I would never go back there. The attitude she showed to us was horrible.
This is one of my favorite indian restaurants. Staff is very nice, great service and always welcome customers with smile.
I go there for sweets. Have not had a chance to try out their food yet! The place seems fairly okay and well maintained.
Nice people very good food
This is the best Indian food restaurant in a city that is no stranger to this cuisine. Mrs. K at Sees Candies recommended it to us and we are pleased she did. Davinda is the second of three generations to be owning this wonderful family restaurant. He took the time to explain some of the exciting recpies that we were served, all of them delicious. Support this place and have a great meal!
They gave stale food and didnt even apologize or reimburse, otherwise I was a fan coz its old and authentic. We will never go or recommend anyone in entire future. Worst experience!!!
The buffet was a great value and vegitarian and meat options was seperated and easy to figure out food was great, service spot on and really appreciate having this restaurant in the area.
Sweets are very decent. Avoid the lunch buffet at all cost.
Excellent value for price. Thali non veg is $8. Thats a big enough meal for a big guy. Sweet shop has good variety. Service is better than decent, never had to wait unless really busy. Lunch buffet one of better ones Ive been to in the area. Not sure where all the bad reviews come from, Ive been eating there for years and would not go back if it was not worthy of anything less than 4 stars. Noticed a lot if the one stars are just casual Google user so probably competitors taking pot shots.
Food was good and fresh
Just so good! Fantastic goat curry!!
Love it here!Goat Rogan Josht and Karahi Chicken with Garlic naan! yummm.
I had the worst experience. I went in for the lunch buffet, the food was stale, I vomited all night long. Please be aware. Never ever going back to this restaurant again.
This is a simple buffet but a good one. Sometimes its not about quanity but the quality. Its great selection of vegetarian buffet. They have meat, too. The sweets are great. The jelibe is THE BEST Ive had. The service is kind, too.
Place is clean, friendly service and the food amazing
It claims to be the oldest restaurant in Fremont and it indeed shows.Food was okay. Samosa tasted good but had raw potato bits in it. Chhole bhature and Jalebi was good. Kala Jamun and dhokla felt like it was old and hard.
The good for the buffet was not bad. They do not charge for children under 3. The meat options were not bad either although the taste was different from Pakistani seasoning. I still enjoyed the food. The chili chicken was the best. I wasnt a big fan of the vegetable biryani. Thee gulab jaman was not dry, enough syrup in it to not add more syrup.
Went there for some Indian sweets. The middle-aged lady at the counter was very rude and had a threatening tone. Plus, the Jalebi that I bought there turned out to be stale.
I was there to buy some sweet and salty items, e,g.Bhujia. I bought Bhujia Paid $6 /lb, got home and find out it is old, stale and has a long black hair in package. It looks like was sitting on the shelf for a long time.Another thing I noticed while I waiting in the restaurant that there were boiled potatoes next to sink, and flies were all over these potatoes. This restaurant needs to be shut down, it is sub-standard in quality and has serious hygiene issues.
Delicious jalebi.. best I have ever eaten in Bay Area
One of the best Jalebis in the entire bay area. The young man at the counter was very amicable and courteous !
We ordered samosas from here (to-go) and I must say that these were the WORST samosas I had in my life. samosas were raw and tasted really bad and tasteless (with wired odour)My wife fell sick after eating them.We called them later to give them feedback about the food, and they were least concerned about the food quality.I wish I could give ZERO star.... stay away from this place.
My favorite is Jalebi, Laddu, and samosas.
If you are here for a quick, its a good place to eat. Dont expect amazing customer service.
One off the best Indian restaurant in Bay Area very nice people 😘👍👍👌
Good food considering 10.99 buffet price. Friendly guy to serve.
Wrost Indian food I have eaten in my life... Shame on the restaurant for serving such bad quality tasteless food...they should go out of business...
The manager was the rudest and most arrogant person I have ever met. Not only that, he told me his restaurant was the most famous in all of Fremont, which is false because I had never heard of it before today, and 2.5 stars on Yelp says otherwise. His insulting words will make me never return to this place. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Great food, reasonably priced, family owned resturant.
The best lunch buffet you can ask for. Hands down. Groin grabbingly good
