Best coffee around. Better than Starbucks across the street by tenfold!
Just moved in to the area, started with Starbucks across the street from Philz, and now Im completely hooked on there coffee and pastry! Appreciate there customer service and atmosphere. Thank you Philz staff.
The mint mojito is always my go to beverage here! I always preorder on the app for faster service. Great service!
Mint mojito coffee = love! I wish there was one closer to us! So good!
I come in whenever I have a hankering for fancy coffee. I have liked everything they have ever made me, specially the mint mojito iced coffee. If you don’t like something, they offer to modify it for you. I usually drink black coffee so I can taste the quality without the influence of milk and sugar. There are several nice coffee places around but they were the first to offer alternative milks. They have an app where you can preorder and pick up by drive thru. The egg avocado toast is amazing!
Staff refuses to acknowledge you, and where to stand to order is confusing. They are too cool for business
Their coffee is the best picker upper needed around town! Can get busy so definitely set aside time before getting here. Highly recommended.
Inconsiderate Customer Service, Gross watered-down coffee. This was my first time trying this coffee chain. Tonight was rainy and thought a nice, warm coffee sounded nice, and I was possibly going to get my toddler something if there were hot chocolate options for her. The person who attended me, an older woman, seemed very rushed with me and did not allow me even a minute to look over the menu myself. When it was time to pay she mentioned that they have a policy during this pandemic to have customers wait outside while their orders are ready..... again—it was RAINING. By the time I finished ordering it was POURING out. So I had to rush out my with toddler in my arms under the rain to wait “five minutes” that the woman recommended. By the time I ran back in—again, through POURING RAIN—my coffee was warm at best. To my dismay, it was not worth this situation. I have had 7 Eleven coffee taste better.I am very angry at the way this woman handled this situation. She wanted to respect her store’s policy to wait outside, regardless of the ugly rain I ran through with my daughter, but allowed the man waiting behind me to stay inside while they have a sign that says “one party inside at a time.” Sooo this staff member picked and chose which “policy” to respect. I’m 💯 sure she would have handled this different had I been white like her, and not obviously a person of color.
Coffee here is absolutely amazing. You can really get something unique to your taste.Burritos are no good here though unfortunately. Tastes like something youd get at a gas station at 5x the cost.
Great coffeeGreater staff! So nice. Very helpful.
Really good coffee and nice employees
I rarely go to Philz, but it has been a great experience every time. I got their Tesora and Im interested in their rose milk latte for next time.
I like philz, but this location is horrible. Understaffed and the parking lot is always full. Also, DO NOT ORDER ONLINE from this location. You will have extremely long wait times.
Great pour over coffee. Lots of flavor.
I’ve been coming here pretty much everyday for the last year. Needless to say their coffee is the best. My favorites are the Philtered Soul and Tesora with light sugar and if im craving something sweeter then I’ll get the iced mint mojito. Don’t be sugar conscious when ordering this drink, order it sweet and creamy. The staff at this Philz are genuine, nice and friendly people that truly care about your experience and making sure you leave, not just satisfied, but happy :)
Need a coffee fix? Philz coffee elevates the coffee game with some of the best you can get. The philz app to order coffee is one of the best you can get which makes it so convenient when you are on the go. With so many options to get coffee these days Philz has stood out from the competition. Iced or hot you cant go wrong with any drink there and if you know about the secret drinks you will be back more often. There is a cinnamon toast crunch and churroholic drink that are amazing if your barista knows how to make it right!
Great place. The people that work and run this place really care about their coffee shop.
First time. And it was overwhelming with all the new coffee style.. Totally different flavor from the standard sweet Starbuck flavor.. Also the prices are well worth the flavor less than Starbuck prices.. Will go more often as a treat
Names for hot or iced coffee are weird, but very good
Everything. Mint Mojitos all day. Love it.
Oatmeal cookie is the best coffee I’ve ever had
Very delicious coffee
Great Coffee, young hip College vibe. Plenty of parking.
Always a great cup of coffee. Crew is always nice and friendly. Worth the wait.
Great coffee.
The MINT MOJITO! Omgosh I am so glad they brought this place down to the OC, otherwise it would be a shame to not be able to share the deliciousness of this place with the masses. Interesting concept, the baristas are given their stage to whip up the coffees as if they are bartenders, knowledgeable about the drinks which is great for a coffee novice like me. Order your drink from your barista, pay for the drink, take your drink, chill or take out.. Good vibes and great drinks. I am a fan of sweet coffees and this is the place to go!
Amazing service and help with understanding their flavors
Good service. Clean place.
The lady taking the orders is a mental patient. Stand in the circle stand in the square wait outside let’s blame it all on Covid. Mellow out with the nonsense
Unfortunately I only went once before the pandemic, but I go about every other week and it always improves my day. The baristas are nice and the drinks are always really good. Pandemic note: drinks can be picked up at the front door (theres a table up against it). Just order from the app before you go and there usually isnt too long of a wait.
Nice atmosphere though a little loud for my purposes this morning (some quiet reading). The coffee was smooth and good and the staff friendly and helpful. I do like the seating provided; a good mix of tables and comfort seats.
Love the coffee. I like the set up due to covid.
I think it’s safe to say I have a Philz Coffee obsession. I live nowhere near a Philz yet everytime I go on a trip to California I force anyone and everyone I know to take me to the nearest one. The Coffee is so good I would bathe in it if I could. If I were a Billionaire I would hire THE Phil himself to make me coffee every single morning, until I simply float away.
If you feel good about spending over $5 on a cup of coffee that you cant add your own sugar and cream to then this is your place. Too much cream and wait you cant undo that but hey its a hip cool place I guess for all the college hipsters. Never going back. Its coffee people and not that great a cup at that.
Really loved the atmosphere and friendly service. I got a medium blend with a hint of hazelnut. Best cup of coffee I have had a while. Highly recommend!
I had an amazing experience at the Fullerton Philz! It was my first time visiting and I was very overwhelmed looking at the menu but as soon as I walked up to the counter, Joyce was very sweet and patient with me! She talked me through the process and even offered to remake it if I was not fond of the first one! She told me not to pay until she got my drink just right, and of course it was perfect! I got some delicious baklava to go with my coffee and had an overall incredible experience!
It was my first time here so I tried the popular mint mojito. For the amount of mint leaves they put in the cup, the drink is not that minty. Nice location with decent parking! Ive seen people study here but if you cant concentrate in a loud environment, this isnt the place for you. nice place to catch-up with friends.
Great place to get coffee. Quick, friendly and great prices. Evan helped me. Very respectful and nice.
Long wait times. Poorly managed and understaffed. I waited in line as long as I could and left to buy coffee elsewhere
Starbucks is more friendly than here. Also told that if I don’t download the app I can’t order in the future.
Too expensive
Good coffee. Not strong though
This place is really cool and trendy has a real cool East coast vibe. seems to get a little busy lot of college kids studying. Really nice blends of coffee as well.
Finally real coffee! I love the place and havent had any bad service to date. I love the fact you can have your coffee at different levels of sweetness and creamy-ness too. I recommend trying their ice coffee selection if you like that kind of drink.
Went here for the second time wasnt sure how the ordering process went, but Nancy helped me and my friends a lot! She took some time with us to suggest us roasts she thought we would like and taught us the lingo. She was so kind and helpful and made the experience wonderful. (:
Definitely one of the best coffee shops in Koreatown. Theyve got a wide variety of coffee and tea beverages including some rather unique drinks (espresso & soda!). Not to mention lots of delicious cookies, snacks and pastries.
Bring in your own mug and theyll only charge you for a small! I love their philtered soul with light sweetness and no milk. I only get that and am never disappointed.
This location is near the bus top which makes it nice on cold mornings. I have just started going there so I need to go a few more times. They have very interesting varieties of coffee and tea. Great food offerings. The customer service and the music are great as well.
Grand opening is happening on December 31st. There is a different variety of coffee for each blend and roast of coffee (light, medium, dark). Most coffees are brew with an pour over method to bring out the natural nodes of each coffee. For people that love to drink single origin coffee or craft beers, the coffee will bring new ecstatic and life into their pallet.
Pour over, one cup at a time, DA BOMB! Thank you guys, keep the good stuff coming!
Great drinks, try the avocado and the almond toast. Gets a little crowded for studying but I like the positive vibes here.
Quality coffee made and really brewed one cup at time as advertised. My last visit was midweek evening. The place was primarily college-aged kids that I presume were from nearby Cal State Fullerton and Hope International. They were engaged in friendly chat with each other, studying with laptops open, or all of the above. Pleasant atmosphere. I liked the large community table. But the place could do with a bit more seating. Otherwise, terrific place for coffee, which at the end of the day is its raison detre.
I love Philz Coffee. The service is great and friendly. My drinks are always made properly and if not they fix it on the spot. If they can’t fix it they make you something else. My only complain is that they are not everywhere. However, this makes my coffee experience even better. Best coffee house.
This was my first time and it was beyond amazing!!! I got to meet Phil and he is the sweetest person ever and the workers are phenomenal. I fell in love with this place. My friends and I have found our new spot😍. THANKS PHIL. Youre the best! -I highly recommend the mint mojito iced coffee for first timers who like something sweet.
Great coffee for an out of towner! The iced mint was *amazing*, I had to stop again on the way to the airport!
Today was my first visit. Staff was very friendly super informative on the menu options. I liked the detailed explanation and asked to try and modify your coffee to appeal to ones taste. I really enjoyed the care that is placed into making sure you enjoy your drink.😊 the sweetness can be adjusted which I love, since I prefer bitterness more than too sweet. Cant wait to go back and try other coffees
A little bit of heaven, while we sit around waiting this Covid thing out.
It was my first time. I ordered a large Teraso. The medium brew coffee is smooth but still packs a punch. I liked how they let you try your coffee and then make any alterations until you are satisfied with your cup of java. Ill be back!!
Not much of a coffee drinker and certainly not a fanboy of the big chains that over charge for a cup of coffee...Philz impressed me. First the blends of coffee are... Unique... I didnt know where to start so asked the gentleman his favorites which he was immediately able to tell me 2. I picked the darker roast - not cream or sugar. Brewed it up and handed it over. Very strong flavors that you could actually taste - unlike the snobbery that tries to sell you on subtle differences... Just remember its all in the grind not to fine not too rough... The coffee was a little too hot for me so I asked for a cup of ice - I prefer to drink mine warm not hot so I can drink not sip. Instead, they took my cup and hand aerated it to preserve the flavor. Im not sophisticated enough to appreciate the flavor profile change of a piece of ice... But the level of customer service was amazing. They offered to make a different cup, add sugar, add cream, etc. I didnt complain at all, just asked for a cup of ice to cool it down and multiple employees went out of their way to ensure I was satisfied. This is not the service level I get elsewhere when travel companions have to get their fix.Coffee is good, service was phenomenal.
Kind of a niche place. Only drip coffee. Seems cool but I wanted a latte and didnt realize they didnt do espresso beverages. Though Im sure its a great place to grab an ice coffee in the summer!
UPDATE: They no longer have a drive through. If you want a drink fast you gotta use their mobile app. Its pretty easy and you can get it from the app store. The people there are still super nice and the quality is still great.
Not great coffee isnt what its cracked up to be kind of disappointing
First visit Easter Sunday. Very busy. Lots of coffee choices and some food choices.I liked the various dark coffee selection. Hard to find in SoCal. Went with the Turkish. Not done in typical Turkish fashion bit passable. Presented well by friendly staff...Considering there is a Starbucks right across the street, the heavy, and steady, customer stream says volumes...
I love this coffee shop. It is my favorite place to go for coffee, toasts, and to do homework! The staff is friendly, and always going out of the way to make sure your drink is perfect. It isnt like Starbucks so it does take a minute to learn how to order but I find the drinks to be far superior!! Pay attention to the busy times as it does get very busy as far as seating. But it is so comfy and cosy and they even have games you can check out and play! Overall I would come here every day if I could!
Mint mojito with honey is fantastic
The place is nice inside with a friendly staff. Everything is a pour over with options of what roast to pick. I am not a fan of the barista deciding how much cream or sugar to place in my coffee. The coffee itself was a bit watered down however the coffee notes were very nice. I am willing to go back and see if it was a fluke but its a solid place regardless.
The avocado toast is amazing... my go-to is the large tesora with heavy cream and honey.. and they get a perfect every time! They are always friendly and make you feel welcome which is an amazing Plus
Great coffee, one cup at a time and it shows! If James where alive, hed say it too... I Philz good... 🎶🎶🎵 !!
I would go to Philz Coffee over the McDonald’s version of coffee Starbucks or any day of the week. Every single coffee is made by a barista pour over special for you not made in a large quantity and then sitting there roasting for hours. This is definitely the best new coffee place in Southern California.
Great drinks.
Love the ecstatic iced coffee. Tresora if you’re looking for something hot. Looking for a quick small bite? Grab a made to order avocado toast, hands down one of the best! Conveniently located near California State University, Fullerton. In a rush? Order through their app and pick up in no time! Great place to study, Free WiFi, open seating with plenty of outlets. Highly recommend if you’re looking for an alternative to Starbucks! Price AND taste are definitely cheaper and tastier!
Well... I had high hopes for this place... Unfortunately they are a dark roaster. I had a light roasted iced coffee that didnt taste very light in roast. Its not as dark as Starbucks but its not exactly light roasted either. I didnt try their mint coffee drink. Im sure it is fine, but I drink my coffee black.
Hands down the best service! The staff is sweet and always willing to make your coffee just how you like it. Philz is officially my new coffee spot!
Starbucks was full and saw Philz across the street.. Awesome experience. Much better than Starbucks and super nice employees.. the mocha was the best
I love their coffee. They make it, let you try it, and if you dont like it, they do it again. I also bought a bag of coffee there called Aromatic Arabic and its so good. Its 18$/ bag.
Amazing drip coffee brewed per person per cup. Had avocado toast which taste fantastic. Very friendly staff, nice hip space to met friends and study
It was my first time going to Philz last week and the staff was very helpful in helping me figure out what drink I should try, they suggested I give their philz tea with some cream and sugar and it was great. I will be back to try other things on their menu.
