Very happy with the pool and the install. But theyre rechargeable pool cleaner and our walk-in entry steps I do not recommend buying at all. I am 230 lb and the entry steps that you put in the pool when I step on them I feel like Im going to fall for him they are very flimsy nowhere near the price tag that you pay for. I have a 30 ft round pool and a rechargeable cleaner battery runs dead long before it ever gets the pool clean. Im also having lots of issues with cloudiness and getting the premise out system to work right. I would buy from here again but I would definitely check quality of items Im buying a little better

If there was a way to do ZERO stars but I had to at least do one. Im not going to waste any more time with or about this pool disaster company so all Im going to say is RUN! RUN SO FAST IN THE OTHER DIRECTION TO FIND A DIFFERENT POOL COMPANY! THEY ARE A COMPLETE DISASTER! ENOUGH SAID.

Love the salespeople! No pressure and answer all of your questions with great knowledge of their products. They helped us decide what product was right for our needs without pressuring us to buy. We greatly appreciate the time they have spent with us and when we are ready to buy, it will be from them!

I had a good experience in the store in March 2021. But it is July 2nd and my pool that was supposed to be installed in May has still not been installed. We went early to buy so hopefully we were early getting it installed. I would not recommend this company right now. Paid for something that has yet to be delivered. UPDATE: it is being installed 7/5/21. I would fear at this point that if I bought one now it may not be installed until next year. I know the pandemic and weather causes problems, but there needs to be better communication. If weather stops a project, that project should be finished when the weather clears, before others are started. Otherwise you have a muddy mess in your yard for weeks as we did.

We went in to have our pool and spa water tested. The lady doing the water testing was cursing in front of our children. Then she raced out and left the paperwork with someone else to help with chemicals. He was extremely impatient and rude with us and rushed through the spa chemical explanations even though we told him we were new spa owners and did not know anything about the process. Now a day later our spa looks like watered down milk!! He did not even offer to help find the pool chemicals we needed and I had to pick those on my own based off the print out. We used this store many times in their S.Elm location and always had great service, not sure why the terrible change with this location. We will find another pool shop.....I am not spending money in a place that is so rude to their consumers.

They are great at selling but the installers they use are not professional at all. Have been on schedule over 4 times with no show no call. If you are going to offer install then have reliable installers. Here we are August 12th and still no pool. The installer called and we were on schedule for July 13th. Waited all day no show no call. Called them and was told July 15th, no show no call again. A couple of more no show no calls. Installers show up with pool but grading hadnt been done yet. Graders finally show up. Called them and was told August 11th, no show no call again. Called them and was told to call install crew. Called them no answer. Called scheduler back was told to leave text. Install crew calls was told scheduler sent them to another job. Called scheduler no answer. Was put on schedule by install crew for August 12th between 8-9 no show no call again. Called install crew and was told sent to another job scheduler was doing he needed help. Was told they would be here around 11. 10:43 now waiting to see if they show. Either have your own installers or go elsewhere. Save yourself the headache.

We had a great experience and purchased a pool. I have already recommended to a family member who is also thinking about purchasing a pool this year. We can’t wait to get it installed and start enjoying our backyard again!

This place is a breath of fresh air. After being rudely pushed out of Everything Billards and Spas we thought we would try this store to buy a hot tub. Immediately we were greeted by Jeff who was very friendly and helpful. He showed us exactly what we wanted and answered every question. We were sold! This is a great place to work with if you are interested in a spa or pool.

Now what happens if ground not right due to rain.I paid up front and trusted the reference that was given although many years ago since he used your company. He gave a great reference however now I have to tell my kids that I have been counting down with that they wont be using the pool this year. At all. I purchased an R series Bullfrog from Backyard Leisure. Kevin was very helpful, courteous and professional. They gave me an awesome deal on the spa and the transaction was seamless. From factory to where you want it, with a grade A install team. The experience working with them was awesome and I will be back for any other leisure needs. I promise this is a real review from a real customer. To many fake reviews out there. Bottom line is Backyard leisure are great.

Apparently theyre so booked they cant do anything until November of NEXT year!! I realize thats a good thing for them but they definitely need more help if theyre this booked!! Who wants to wait 2 YEARS for a pool!! We thought we were ahead of the game by starting in September (and now to November). I guess not!! 😠😠

Horrible customer service. Purchased my pool a month and a half ago, it was supposed to be installed last Thursday. Waited until the end of the day to notify me they werent going to. It was supposed to be installed again today, Thursday the 27th and they waited until the end of the day to tell me it wont be today either. Not to mention Im the one who has to call and inquire three or four times, they dont bother to keep you up to date. Now my scheduling is just up in the air. Hopefully theyll get my pool installed in time for it to get cold outside.

Good luck trying to get someone on the phone. After numerous phone calls and left messages. Nobody hasn’t call me back. I spoke to one guy Named Jason (Greensboro/Winston-Salem location) he was rude and not helpful. I had waited over a month for my pool and they no showed. Jason told me he doesn’t schedule the installment. He told me to call the Raleigh location. So I did. Of course, nobody answered. How do you get business if you don’t answer your phone? Do you treat all of your customers like this too?Save your money, time and headache.

Very pleased with the service from Eric. He is very good at answering pool startup questions and seeing that we are all set with our supplies to get our pool up and running as it should be. The communication from this and the Raleigh store has been good. Excellent installation work done by Berto and his team. Satisfied customer and new owner of a Radiant Pool.

If you’re a young couple, don’t waste your time going in.Walked in with my fiancé to check out an above ground pool for our house. I understand that seeing a couple in their twenties can bring a scoff to many salesmen, but I was immediately off put. We have saved for this as my fiancé is from the coast and loves water. The business offers a cash discount, but the salesman was only showing financing options. A family of five that walked in behind us was shown samples, colors, different water options, etc. We got a brochure and cold shoulder.

ThIs store has a large selection of pools and hot tubs and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I drive over an hour to buy my pool supplies here and will continue to do so!

Great place to buy a pool!

We bought a hot tub. Good product. Decent price. The issue is with follow up and follow through. We purchased mid June. It was supposed to be a 4-5 week process. As of mid August (2 months), I am still dealing with issues (with no end in sight). If you have the time to stay on top of them and be the one to call back even when told they will call you, then use these guys. I would recommend negotiating a final payment upon completion. Otherwise, they have no real incentive to actually help since they have your money. Sales side was great....delivery and installation, not good at all. I now have 2 pages of notes (I highly recommend notes as some of them have selective memories) and my issues arent resolved. If you are looking for ease of purchase and delivery, find another dealer.

These guys did a fabulous job!!! Couldn’t be happier and we have been enjoying our pool for over a year! In one day the grader came, then installers set up and cleaned up their mess and gone all within about 6 hours. Great quality and always friendly helpful staff to help maintain our pool!

We were looking to purchase a pool. We visited a few places but still wasnt sure of where we were going to purchase the pool UNTIL we walked into Backyard Leisure and new instantly that this was the right place. The salesman was so informative and answered all our questions. Once the paperwork was done the date for the installation was given to us. The day of the installation, the crew called to say they were on the way. The 4 man crew got right to work on the pool. The crew worked as a team and did a great job on the installation. The crew cleaned up when the job was done. I have already recommended Backyard Leisure to someone.

We bought an above ground pool in July and I absolutely love it. The sales team is very informative and helpful. They make you feel very comfortable in the fact that no question is ever dumb. I have been doing business with Backyard Leisure for many years 10+ and have always been pleased, HOWEVER, I am so disappointed today that I left a water sample at their door on my way to work this morning with my phone number in it and was told that they could not find me in the system by that number, therefore, my water was not tested. They could have done one of two things- called the number on the bottle to ask if there is another number to look up or maybe look up my name in your system...I was told- they were too busy to do that for me and that it was a “courtesy” to check my water! I am the customer who is spending hundreds of dollars every year buying my chemicals from them and somehow it is a courtesy that they test my water so they can tell me what to buy?!? Well- no worries- there is another pool supply business that will be happy to check my water and accept my money, I am quite sure! Again- I am totally disappointed!

This place is so awesome and Im blessed to live near them. The folks at backyard leisure are so nice and helpful, but best of all they are so very knowledgeable about pools and spas. My husband and I are total newbies when it comes to this stuff. We are new pool owners, but BL helped us figure out what we needed and gave us tips and advice on how to balance all the levels in our water. They tested our water at no charge and were so thorough with their explanation. We will be coming back to get all our pool needs from them. Two thumbs up!!!

We bought a hot tub from this place. The installers set it up so that the lid opener bar screws are ripping up the new lid. And the tie down straps will not properly secure the lid. When the wind blew open the cover we found the tub exposed to the sun for a few hours made the tub blister. We have been calling them for over 4 months to get service. They set up one appointment then didn’t show. Now they won’t return calls and so I think our only next step is to hire an attorney to get our money back. Sad they won’t perform warrant work on a tub less than a year old.

Eric was very nice and knowledgeable. We are going to get a pool but have a couple of things that we need to check on 1st.Stay tuned......We did get things worked out and we ordered the pool to be installed by the end of April. Things went well and Jeff took care of us because Eric was not there that day.Stay tuned until April......

Helpful staff in the store-not pushy at all. I have had many questions and they have patiently answered them! When we had problems arise, they never came to inform us about it without having a solution. Our install and grading appointments were moved up early so the kids were excited to get everything done sooner. It is so nice to be able to go to the store and get help when we need it.

Do not think about getting an inground pool with these people. Jeff was our rep. He was nice and knowledgeable but only a sales guy. Behind the scenes, we got delayed on top of delayed. They wasted 9 months of my life with me waiting on a pool that would never happen! Save yourself the headache and time. Doing people wrong will catch up to you. Least I got my $1,000 deposit back.

We ended up buying a Bullfrog hot tub and are very pleased with our purchase. The hot tub works great and looks great in our backyard. We didnt feel pressured to buy it at all. Within a week it was delivered after our concrete slab was laid.**The only negative thing I will say has nothing to do with the store but with the concrete company that was suggested for us to use. The slab of concrete that was laid in our backyard looks HORRIBLE! I wanted to cry when I saw how uneven the concrete is. So uneven when we have stairs in front of our concrete they are wobbly. Our backyard is a huge mud hole after they were done. So five stars for Backyard Leisure but PLEASE find your own concrete people to do the job!!

Working with the staff at Backyard Leisure was a pleasure. The got the pool installed in a timely manner, were very professional and knowledgeable and had answers to all of my questions. BYL was very helpful in deciding the style and brand of spa to purchase. Comparing them to other dealers in the area, they were more responsive and competitive in cost. Their variety of styles and brands of tubs is a great way to see what features fit best.We love our new hot tub!

Probably a very good thing they wont let you post pictures. I have a hole that is not dug deep enough. An incredible pile of red dirt that becomes red mud when it rains. And now because of their inability to complete a job that should have been completed 2 weeks ago after our last severe storm I now have a damaged fence that will cost about $1,800 to fix. This was created because they needed an 8 section of my fence to be removed to dig the hole that needs to be 2 deeper

My wife and I purchased our 18 x 33 above ground pool in August of 2015. We were looking for a pool that would not require a ton of maintenance. The staff at Back Yard Leisure was very helpful in helping us make our selection. We opted for the Perma Salt system which has served us very well. I have always been able to contact someone at the store to get advice on anything from closing our pool to selecting chemicals for maintenance. The staff has provided very useful information over this past year and has provided a high level of service. My overall experience has been very positive.

Im not sure about the last review because I stopped in today and was extremely satisfied with the customer service I received. The three employees were very knowledgeable and helpful; assisting me to get into several different models to see how they felt, explained different features of the various brands and were very helpful in directing me to the brand that would fit our familys needs best. Nate worked with my time schedule for delivery as I have many preparations to make before installation. Cant comment on the product yet but the service was great. Thank you Nate for your help.

Went to visit them looking for an inground pool. They were very helpful and gave me lots of options. Most places when you go in to talk about something so expensive they blow you off. This place did not, they took me seriously, showed me the great list of options and spent about 2 hours with me. That is fantastic customer service and will return when we decide to move forward with the swimming pool.

I called this company two weeks ago to ask if they would be interested in installing a pool for me that they had surveyed last year (last April of 2018 they had taken my deposit and promised me a June install date, which by June had turned in to a maybe by September install date). The man who answered the phone said he would call me back after he looked up my paperwork. When he did call back he said We could do an install in 12-13 months for you, and he cited my two bad reviews left on the BBB and Google last year as the reason the install would take at least a year. I told him he just inspired me to write more reviews, so here I am. He then hung up on me.I am amazed this company is still in business being as rude and unprofessional as they are.

We called and described the part (on filter) and they very kindly checked their store and told us they more than likely had the matching part. My husband visited, bought the part and WHIZ BANG! Someone was here 2hrs later and installed the part. Amazing service you dont see much of anymore.

My sisters brought a pool from BYL and they family cookouts and get togethers have been awesome. We brought our pool in March after visiting the Greensboro store several times. Our kids love it!!!! The manager Nat was outstanding. He and his staff were very knowledgeable. They were always willing to show us what was available and made every effort to ensure that we were rehearsed on new products. Nat discussed the durability and factual information about care and never forced us into just buying any pool. We still come back in for water sample testing and continue to get the same service as if we never purchased a pool at all. They are great and I would recommend and actually have two other family that will purchase in the near future.

We bought our first pool from Backyard Leisure this year and overall the experience has been amazing! They were quick to answer all of our newby questions, and installation was a breeze! The store is full of supplies and accessories! I would highly recommend this company when buying your pool, theyre simply the best!!!

I purchased a pool late in 2017 to be installed early 2018. Grading was done and sand left prior to installation. Unfortunately, Mother Nature didnt cooperate and the installation of the pool was rescheduled three times. Three times I took the day off from work and three times I didnt get a call that they were cancelling until moments before they were supposed to arrive. Most of the dirt had now washed away. When I confirmed the build appointment I informed the gal I spoke to that the installers would need to bring more sand and explained why. That never happened. Although the pool itself is level the inside is not. There are many craters in the floor of the liner, one section of the pool is deeper than the rest (its an above ground pool), and there are two spots where theres something protruding up into the liner. May 24, 2018 contacted BYL to see how this could be rectified. May 25 Jeff tells me hell put in a service call. June 26 emailed Jeff to let him know no service call was done. No reply. Had to email again August 22. Finally a service call was set up. I was informed that the pool needs to be drained and a new liner installed. I also mentioned I wanted more sand brought in. November 13, 2018 I contacted the scheduler, John, to confirm the draining of the pool for Nov. 14 and the installation of the liner November 16. He informed me that it needs to be at least 60 degrees outside in order to put the liner in. Why wasnt this told to me weeks ago when the appointment was set up? We had put up a vinyl fence that affixes to the pool wall that we were told we had to take down before the installation of the new liner. Since they wont be coming until next year to fix the pool I now have to find a place to store the 24 fence. Prior to this new development I had spoken with Jeff about my frustrations. He was kind enough to offer me a credit within the store and to pay to have to pool refilled. Which was very kind. Word of advice. Anyone looking to do business with BYL beware. Customer Service and follow-through is HORRIBLE!

My husband and I have been shopping for a hot tub for a few weeks. We went to Backyard Leisure having a pretty good idea of what we wanted, & how much we wanted to spend. We bought a Bullfrog! They were having a sale so the price was right in our budget. Ive called twice with questions and have gotten immediate answers with great customer service! Were so excited and cant wait for it to be delivered!I even got changeable jet packs!!Ill update once we have the tub!

Bought in April delivered in May...Upon installation corner got damaged...Today will be the 6th call to try to get a repair accomplished. They like taking your money but their service is not worth the extra money you pay to support a local brick and mortar business. If I were to do it again I would buy on-line.

I have a Bullfrog Spa. It is great. Backyard leisure is terrible for service. I waited over 6 weeks for a part that was covered under warranty. Tried to call the owner, left him a message 5 days ago and he has not returned the call. I would have another Bullfrog, but would not recommend purchasing anything from these people. Had to pay the service technician for his travel to fix my hot tub that was under warranty.

Gave them $1000 to start the process of installing a inground pool in my backyard. After 3 months and several phone calls they finally came out and measured my yard. Then after 3 more weeks they still had not put together a contract and got my drawings done for the pool install. I had to request my money back and go with another pool builder. I lost 4 months of the Summer swimming season because of these people. Will NEVER have anything to do with this unprofessional business again!

Opened pool this year and had major issues, folks there gave tips and advice to correct the water. Tried all of their suggestions, finally got it straightened out after about 3 weeks. The folks there told me that they werent going to make me pay for chemicals until we got it straight, and they kept there word, and have never charged me a dime. These guys treated me with respect and showed genuine concerns. I would highly recommend these folks, they did right by me.

My husband passed away and he was always the one to take care of the pool. The store employees have been very helpful in teaching me how and what to do to maintain the poolI dont know what I would have done without them

The pool installers were very friendly and very helpful, the store staff has always been knowledgeable, friendly and easy to work with. We are excited to share pool time with all our friends and family.

Worst experience ever! After delay upon delay, and multiple days missed from work trying to make sure I was home they finally installed a week late after I threatened to just cancel the whole order. Then once they finally did get it installed and I got everything up and running, I found that they had left a pocket knife behind underneath the pool liner, only after stubbing my toe on it. I have called repeatedly for them to come take this pool back apart and fix it and still no call backs. Do not use this company!

I bought my Pool September 2015 and they did an awesome job at putting it in and getting me set up. I opened up this year and they have helped me tremendously testing my water and giving me guidance . I have already recommended them to a few friends.

Went in to their retail office in April wanting an inground pool. I was told be Jeff that if placed a $1,000.00 down payment, they would start the process and they could install my pool in June. I paid the grand. They drug their butts nearly the entire time. I had to initiate at least 75% of the phone calls and missed follow ups. Please note, every time they asked me for something (plans, measurements, etc.) I always got it to them in a day or two, never drug anything out. Finally it was June, and I got a little pushy, and wither got an excuse, or Jeff was off every Monday and Tuesday. So when I went in on Friday June 15th, they had my final paperwork on the scanner. I patiently waited nearly an hour while Jeff assisted another customer. When he got to me, he presented the final paperwork, which was 200 sq feet to heavy on concrete and a thousand dollars to high. After showing him the math on the square footage, he lowered the price to the correct amount. Then I asked when my pool would be installed. Jeff said he did not know. I pressed him and said if I am spending 40k I should at least know when the install will be. He again said he wasnt sure. I then mentioned that he had promised June and the $1000 held my place in line. He then claimed there were allot of inground pools sold this year, and it would at least be August before they started. As most know, in September the cold weather starts filtering in, so the pool would be useless this year.I can not believe that this company and its rep wasted my entire two months of time, and most of all, wasted my summer hopes of a pool. This is the epitome of terrible customer service. I royally got screwed and would never seek to use their business again. Liars with no regrets.
