My move team did a great job! They were courteous, on-time and accommodating. Jacob, Stacy, Shante, Chad, and Tashawn, and the crew chief were a great crew to work with. In addition, Jamie, my estimator was friendly and professional and Susan in the office provided good communication. I would highly recommend them looking to move.

Matt Smith and Shannon Roberts were so very very helpful in arranging the move of my father from one nursing care facility to another. I was able to sign my agreement online using Docusign, a huge plus for me being out of town. The actual move day was handled by my 3 family members and 2 Excell moving staff members. We hired the movers to pack, unpack, and move my father. They handled everything with care and welcomed input from my family in the few grey areas that presented themselves. I absolutely would seek Excell Movers again and certainly recommend them highly.

The moving crew that unloaded our furniture was excellent. They were so very helpful and worked diligently to ensure all of our possessions were placed where we wanted them. Under the circumstances of our home still being under construction, this was difficult for them. They worked tirelessly and never complained or slacked off. I was very impressed with all of these young men and their work ethic. They uplifted our spirits and I thank the company for having sent them. I will always remember them for their kindness. This was a nightmare move. The moving team in North Carolina destroyed a ton of furniture. I dont mean just it was damaged in transit (though many items were—Im talking SEVERE scrapes, scratches, gouges, and dents on 8 major items, plus a ton of crushed boxes). They also destroyed my (very nice! not IKEA-level!) wood bedframe when taking it apart at the origin: they forcefully pulled out a ton of embedded screw anchors (making it impossible to put the bed back together) and shattered multiple pieces of wood, then inexplicably packed those splintered fragments in the parts box for the destination team to find. (The damage estimator here in Austin was vocally shocked at the amount and extent of damage.) They also just straight up lost a tabletop and still have no idea where it ended up. The claims agent was impossible to reach by phone or email, and the claims process took a month, during which time we were sleeping on a mattress on the floor, as wed been told that if we disposed of, repaired, or replaced damaged items before the claim was settled, wed forfeit our right to any damages. They also undervalued the broken furniture despite my providing accurate links to the product as priced, and told me if I wanted to request additional review of the claim it would be another 45-60 days of sleeping on the floor. I gave up and took the insufficient sum they offered. I really wanted to like this company; the owner, Dave, seemed like a nice man when we spoke on the phone. I can only guess that they subcontract out without any real quality control. Maybe youll get lucky with a better origin team if you use them! But I wouldnt take the risk.

Amazingly fast yet very careful and cautious with belongings. Not one thing broken and I did a lot of self packing leaving the large fragile stained glass windows for Excel to package up. I would highly recommend this company. David was great assessing my belongings, Matt was an excellent long distance hauler and Susan in the office made numerous phone calls to me making sure all went smooth.

I’ve used Excel Moving & Storage in Greensboro 3 times now for both moving as well as long term storage. Two moves were to storage and one move was an interstate move for my daughter from NC to GA. I appreciate their professionalism, the accuracy of their quotes (no hidden expenses or costs), as well as the quality of their staff in packing and moving. Working with Susan on paperwork and payment was very easy. I highly recommend them and will continue to use their storage services for the foreseeable future.

Horrible experience!! Do not use!! Terrible customer service!! They were a no show the day of our expected delivery - and never called!! We reached out to them to be told they would “deliver tomorrow.” No further explanation until I called the driver to find out and was told “needed to stop for an oil change and to get the AC fixed.” Sounds like some routine maintenance?! Then was promised if the truck was “fixed” by 2pm they would still deliver....had to call for updates multiple times-just to hear more changes and uncertainties and to be told it would be another 24-36 hours before they would be here because now they do not have help to unload the truck?! Moving can be stressful enough (not to mention the time needed away from work and organizing help). I understand things can happen but the communication has been terrible and the customer service even worse! The customer should not have to repeatedly inquire. They should have reached out to us with updates etc. Highly disappointed and will never use again and strongly encourage others to beware!!***In response...How did you find out about our issues Mr. GM? Did your company reach out to us? No, we had to reach out to your company and had to ask several times to have our issue escalated before anyone would let us speak to you. As for your “delivery window” I was told we would receive 24-48hrs confirming our delivery date (which you provided last Friday and was supposed to be this morning). Should customers expect the 24-48hr window a rolling timeframe between a 4 day span? If so, that was not communicated with us either. Thank you for offering to put us in a hotel. But the bottom line is your company should have done a better job communicating. Hope to see your truck here in the morning *fingers crossed* will be happy to update this review once you have successfully delivered our items.

A very professional moving company! They showed up ahead of schedule for both packing and loading and were able to deliver one day earlier than promised. Their movers were very careful and did not damage any of the house interior or any of the moved furniture. Their fee was exactly as estimated with no add on fees. Excellent customer service and follow up at every stage of the move. A great company to work with- I would highly recommend them!

I have done International, Interstate, and now an Intrastate move.I must say that Excel made this the most stress free move Ive ever done.From the initial home visit to reaching my final destination. The staff was courteous and extremely helpful in showing me what I would need and asking me all the right questions to insure that my move was smooth and uneventful.I highly recommend this company to anyone that is interested in getting their property moved and having it arrive the same way it left.

Came out to give a quote which was very competitive to other companies I looked at. I chose to pack myself but was able to get all the boxes I needed. The movers who came out did a great job of packaging my furniture and everything got moved with no damage. Was able to get my delivery faster than the initial quote estimated, which was extremely convenient. Great communication from everybody at all stages of the move.

In July 2017, our daughter graduated from law school and we researched moving companies to help us move her to her new location from Winston Salem, NC to Charleston, WV . We chose Excel Moving and Storage and were so pleased with the ease in which things proceeded.Fofo was our driver and he was very punctual, showing up exactly at the time and date stated and delivered her furniture the very next day. He and his helper were very courteous and professional and all of her belongings arrived in mint condition! Very grateful for all their help. We would highly recommend this company. Our family recently used Excel Moving and Storage to move from North Carolina to Tennessee. The moving rates were very reasonable, we thought, and everyone was helpful and courteous, from the David our estimator to Susan our move coordinator and all of the moving crew. Normal estimates for our distance would take 3-5 days of travel time; Excel Moving and Storage was able to do it in 2---after picking our stuff up on Friday morning they delivered on Sunday afternoon, lessening our time in a hotel and away from our things. They provided free boxes as well, and nothing was broken during the course of the move. Highly recommended!

Did an excellent job with my move. From the quoting to the delivery everyone was very helpful and the communication was great. This was my 5th time moving with professional movers and they did the best job of taking care of my belongings. Would definitely recommend them and use them again myself.

Overall, I was very satisfied with my experience. When the movers arrived, they were exceedingly courteous and organized. They made very few marks on walls or floors and took the time to do the job right and carefully. They took the time to properly pack and protect all of my belongings. My two biggest complaints are that I was unable to schedule my move until the day before since I had a small move (one-day to the next town) and - through no fault of the movers themselves - they were late due to an appointment prior to mine. The main office called me about 5 minutes before the window closed; which was nice but a little too late.If I move again, I have no hesitation using this mover again - assuming I will be able to schedule my appointment in advance.

Fantastic experience from the initial meeting with Matt Smith to give me the estimate, Shannon Roberts who provided me daily updates and the packing crew, the loading crew led by driver#1, Brian Davis and his unloading crew in Florida the second truck crew led by Tim Crist. The first load showed up on time and was unloaded quickly in Florida without incident. Driver #2, Tim Crist Was able to deliver 12 hours early which was a huge help. Every person who helped in our move were incredibly courteous and very helpful during a stressful time. Both drivers and a Shannon kept me updated of their progress and expected arrival times.On time, no damage, everything placed exactly where we wanted and no extra charges. Excel moved us from Greensboro to Ashville NC and I literally did not have to worry about a thing...really! The crew they sent to move our 3000+ sq ft of house were great, they were on time, communicated well and most important they were so so careful with all our belongings. Our van driver, Francisco was fantastic to work with. He was polite, respectful and very organized. David, one of two packers was also great to work with and weve had no breakage in our dishes and glassware. On move in day, Stan and John helped Francisco unload the van and both were great to work with too. Shannon, our Move Coordinator, answered a lot of questions very quickly and was a big help to us. These team members were knowledgeable about ways to make our move as easy and quick as possible.The only reason I didnt rate our move as five stars was a phone call I had with Matt, Relocation Consultant on the day the van was being loaded. He insinuated that we had been less than truthful during his review of all our household goods in preparing his cost estimate. Ive been doing this too long to be off in my estimate for packing boxes. We showed Matt every closet, room, attic and garage in the house for his estimate. After he completed his estimate, we sold more furniture, packed more boxes ourselves and cleaned out more than we told him we would do before the move took place. We did more to reduce our payload than we committed to Matt and still he wasnt satisfied we werent fully forthcoming during his review. (I think Matt didnt factor in that we hadnt moved in 21 years and had accumulated more stuff). Excell didnt have the lowest price among the three movers we contacted. We chose Excell because of their reputation for service, free boxes so we could pack things ourselves and the resources out of state to get our move done seamlessly and with minimal damage. The Excell people we worked closely with were a big help in making our move as easy and seamless as possible.

From the very start we had a very positive experience with Excel movers. We were moving locally from Lexington to Denton and they showed up on time and were very professional and careful with our items. We were scheduled to take two days because of the amount of boxes and furniture, but with a crew of 6 men the managed to load the truck and deliver it within one long day. Only issue we had was that we had requested someone to know how to put together a Steelcase desk/cabinet office setup. Unfortunately none of the crew had put on together before so the office is not set up yet. Other than that, they did an excellent, professional job. We would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone we know who is moving.

The experience with Excel was a great one for us.The salesman that came out was extremely professional and knowledgeable. He worked with us to get us the best price for our move.The packers that came out did an excellent job - not one thing was broken or damaged when we unpacked the boxes.Finally, our move was originally scheduled to pack on a Wednesday, load on Thursday, and unload on Friday (we were just moving a short distance, but there were multiple floors to deal with that potentially could have taken a long time for loading the truck). On the day they loaded, it looked like they were going to finish around lunch, so we asked if we could unload that same day. Everyone at Excel scrambled and rearranged their schedule to unload that same afternoon; we have two babies under two, and not having to take them to a hotel for the night was a HUGE convenience and seriously appreciated.Would totally recommend these guys for your next move - I have nothing but good things to say.

We moved from NC to FL and was little concerned at the beginning as it was the first time using a moving company.The efficient communication and explanation from the first meeting made us more confident.Pick up and Delivery was on time and everything came in excellent condition.

I have had several moves with professional movers and Excel was by far the worst of any mover I have every experienced! They damaged nearly every piece of furniture I own, split my shipment into two shipments that arrived two weeks apart, and frankly did not care about any of it. You can definitely tell they know when they move you out of state that it is a one-time transaction. Excel cuts every corner imaginable, delivers other peoples stuff to your house, and loses your stuff. Then they ignore you! Dont bother taking any of the Excel/Allied surveys either. They ignore the results and take no action. AVOID EXCEL AT ALL COSTS!!!

We used Excel for an international move last year. Office staff helpful but packers were the worst: bad packing, careless, lots of minor damage to furniture and other items. They rushed and just wanted to get it finished. E.g. garage items were simply thrown into boxes.

We had a marginal experience with this company. We had a small load going from Greensboro to Atlanta, a mere 5 hour drive. It took almost 2 weeks for the delivery. Its not clear how much fault lies with Excel versus our primary moving company (Allied/Coleman) that subcontracted with them. But the scheduling/coordination between the two was very poor and Excels communications were nonexistent despite our moving coordinator repeatedly saying the driver will call you.

On time, polite, efficient, careful and it was done!
