Absolutely love this store! My son and I always have a great time shopping and talking to the friendly helpful knowledgeable staff. They take the time to answer any of his questions and treat him as person and not a annoying child. I honestly can not say enough great things about the staff, I worked corporate retail for 15 years, and I’d take this staff any day of the week!

This place is for all ages! Staff was very very helpful! People there care about what you are looking for. They are also very knowledgeable! There was not one gaming console or anime characters or anything I could not find something of what I was looking for. They had it all! And again, best staff ever!!!

The Mop with legs as he describes himself wemt above and beyond trying to find a Sega Saturn light gun for me. He searched bins trying to help me out. He was very professional and friendly. You should definitely check this place out to get your nerd on.

The employees are always running through you as if your not even there. Literally everytime I go. Its already tightly spaced, much less having the employees running back and forth from conjoined stores.

Usually a lil busy. Employees are friendly & helpful. Kinda pricey but a lot of various videogames, consoles, statue figures, posters, etc.. a lot of cool videogames related products as well.

Me and my friends thought it was a better time to bring in cards for them to appraise a hour before closing. We tried to look up when they stop appraising and couldn’t find information about it. Then we were rudely told that they are not appeasing for the day. To add on to that my friend been in there 3 times that day and was denied to get his items appraised.

Store is kept clean and the snacks and drinks are kept fresh; however,When going to buy a video game or console, MAKE SURE the video game and/or console works before you leave. Both managers AND staff don’t thoroughly check to see if the products they put on the shelves work. Only sometimes. They also do a poor job of cleaning consoles as well.Be mindful of befriending the employees and managers, as I often heard them speaking badly about a lot of their customers behind closed doors.Decent place to bring kids to get them a plushie or some candy, just be mindful and look at what you’re buying.

This was a nice place . But as a person of military my race I didnt appreciate being looked at an or being followed as an African American all of us do not shoplift we work just like the man that was doing the following. You cant deny I use to be LP. I will never step foot in their again if this is how you treat new people visiting.

The service here is top-of-the-line! I bought an Xbox 360 controller from here. I brought it home and found out one of the buttons didnt work. Didnt have time to bring it back within the 30 days due to catching covid and other circumstances. Brought it back after 33 days, and they replaced it no problem. The new controller works great.

The selection of items is massive and I think there is something for everyone here (I personally love the retro games from when I was a kid). My reason for 3 stars is how they treated me when I first go in; being an indecisive person, it takes me a min to find what I want and the whole time Im trying to decide, Ill constantly have employees come up to me asking if I need help with something (sometimes the same employee will ask multiple times) in spite of me telling them Im just browsing and trying to make a decision. If they arent asking me constantly, Ill notice an employee following me, eyeballing my every move like Im about to steal something. This is very uncomfortable and has dissuaded me on several occasions from purchasing items. I understand loss prevention and all but when every item is either behind the counter, locked in glass cases, or too large to be easily hidden on ones person, I feel this is taking it to the extreme. I have also witnessed them doing the same stuff to other customers. Needless to say, I will not be returning for a good bit.

I always have a great time here. The staff is always super friendly and helpful. They also have a large variety of games, funko pops, and figures. I can’t wait to come back and add to my collection 🧡

We were immediately greeted as we walked inside by the young man behind the counter. He was very professional and informed us of the process that will take place for the estimate and the repair of our PS4. We have not received a call with an estimate yet but we were informed at the time of drop off that it could be a turn around of 2 to 3 weeks. I will follow up with another review after I receive an estimate and/or repair.** After a few days I received a phone call from the technician stating that the disc drive is not able to be repaired. He explained in great detail what was wrong and why it can not be repaired. There was no charge for the estimate. I would recommend Play and Talk to anyone looking to get a device repaired. I felt that they handled us in a Professional manner and were honest about the condition of the unit.

They have a great variety of items from various fandoms or video games consoles . The games are fairly priced but the figures and cards are scalper prices. I get it’s a local business but when you’re charging way over price for a card that is older but at a played condition for mint prices …then I can’t justify shopping there . If you need games for it but you’re better off buying cards on eBay .

My fiancé and I brought my brother to this store because I thought it was cool and interesting. It has has a lot of neat collectibles that you wouldn’t see at a GameStop. Some things are pricey, and some are reasonable. That’s to be expected of a buy/sale/trade. However, my problem is with the staff. We were obviously being followed around the store by an employee that only asked if we needed help after I confronted them. I didn’t even realize he worked there until I asked if I could help him with something, then I saw his Play and Talk lanyard. After we realized it was an employee that was following us, we promptly left the store. My brother did actually buy something, so I think there’s something to say about the fact that he liked the product enough to purchase it even after that unpleasant experience. My point is that the store is very cool, but I believe loss protection could be handled better. I don’t appreciate being followed for suspicion that I might steal. Unfortunately, this experience is enough to keep me from returning to this particular store.

Major 5 STARS great service great prices this place has way more then Game stop. Plus they have a warranty even though 30 days they can fix old games system and controls. This place is awesome being an elder gamer this is the place to go.

Always a great experience, the staff are super friendly and have a wide knowledge of the merch they are selling, which is another good mark on their part as the selection, no matter which console you are looking for, is huge.

Buyers beware 100% customer satisfaction is a lie...I purchased a new Ps 4 dual shock controller for 80.24 a few days later the left analog stick stop working properly...when I went to see if I could exchange it or get it repaired they told me no. They said that anything you buy from them that is new from a manufacturer...you have to go through the manufacturer to get it repaired or a new one. So I left without making a scene andI contacted sony through email and they sent me email back stating I have to pay for shipping and handling not to mention the box I buy to ship it must be appropriate not to cause more damage...Moreover it looks like I have to pay more money just to get it looked at or Im completely out of 80 dollar in these hard covid times.

Best place for collectibles and retro games I’ve been to in years

I love this place, it has new and retro games and consoles, statues,models,clothing, plushies and other collectibles. I visit as often as I can and im never disappointed when Im looking for something.15/10 would visit again.

Been to Play and Talk a few times. They have some cool anime merch, but video games is a whole other story. I come here to buy PS2/PS3 games, and the prices are sometimes a bit high. I recently bought Juiced and Call of Duty Ghosts, and both games do not work. Juiced was so scratched, it wouldnt even read. Ghosts has crashed my console four times before I got to play one match. Go here for action figures or Funko figures, but stay away from the games. Youre better off buying games from eBay.

I just hope the thing i agreed to sale was done in good faith as far as price i sold i trusted the young man. My name is Shenna Bush I sold him 16 Pokemon Cards With Stars for rareity and great condition he said they never send cards out to be graded. And he was being honest with the prices i dont know about them so i hope i did the right thing. Yep he was real friendly and very excited i just wanted a fair honest deal.

Buyer beware: scalper prices! They have a return policy similar to GameStop, but without the sweet deals. You have a 7 Day limit on when you can return it and you will only get store credit. Also make sure to price check before you purchase as they sell $300 statues for $500+ and so on. Definitely should have gone there to find what I wanted and then shopped online if anything... live and learn.The employees were really nice and the store is filled with all sorts of cool stuff, but nonetheless its just kind of an overpriced GameStop without pre-orders it seems. Will only visit to see what Im buying in person before finalizing purchases online that allow refunds if unwanted or damaged; if anything.

I collect old Pokémon games, and I am upset about the new prices for them. Last year you could go in and buy a copy of Pokémon gold for $25. The new price is $50. The price for Pokémon Emerald went up $100! I don’t know what happened, but it’s outrageous!

No play area, but an extremely extensive collection

They have a wide variety of retro and modern systems with games for all of them. My only problem with them is the price. So I bought Twilight Princess and Super Mario Sunshine for the GameCube, happy about now owning them, but the prices are outrageous! $85 for Twilight Princess?! $75 for Super Mario Sunshine?! Guys!! Thats more expensive then games that come out nowadays for the current and next gen systems! I get that GameCube games are collectable, but so is every retro game/system. So if I have anything to suggest, lower the prices on some of your games. Other then that this is a great place to find retro games and systems. They had quite a few GameBoy Colors and GBAs on display, the GameBoy Color was really cheap too. Didnt pick one up cause of the GameCube games prices though. But seriously, lower the GameCube game prices, they are insane.

This shop over charges for basically everything in their store. Drove an hour to the Gulfport store because they told me on Facebook and on the phone that they had Pokémon cards in stock. We get their and everything my son was looking for was double or TRIPLE msrp. Shining fates elite trainer boxes go for $49.99 and they mark them up to $99.99. And all the Pokémon plushes they have? A $10.99 plush they mark up to $30.99 or even more. Cool looking shop though. Might be a decent store if it weren’t ran by a greedy scalper

Cliff is awesome. He is very knowledgeable about all the systems and accessories for them. He always gets me what I need and in the rare occasion that he cant, he will always point me in the right direction. I never have a problem driving over there from Louisiana as the staff is always courteous and very helpful.

We went in for an N64 AV Cable, walked out with something my husband hasnt played since he was a kid (not even for display or sale yet) that has over 50+ games pre loaded on it. My husband is MORE than grateful to the gentleman who took his time with us to make sure the box had everything included. Xavier is definitely a store member to keep in mind for a management opportunity. His professionalism reflects great team work with who he was working with on July 6th, 2019. My PS4 was struck by lightning. The internals were slowly failing. I didnt noticed the changes till my front USBs fail to function. This was noticed after an initialization. I was at a loss. I dont know about the rear USB. Best buy couldnt even help me. Clifford at play and Talk offerd to try and resolve my issue. Clifford took my issue home and worked for days on his own time to fix it. Fortunately he was able to resolve my issue and data was saved. This all due to Cliffords efforts. Im very appreciative and highly recommend this shop for its goods and services. The staff are awsome and the store is amazing.

Lots of things to see and if youre looking for a little something to take home as a gift. I recommend the coasters that are very colorful. Kalynn was very helpful.

I love this store but alot of items are MASSIVELY overpriced. I collect figures and i compare prices constantly. They sell some of the same figures as Walmart for more. You can find great deals at this store but just compare first dont pay 75$ for a 45$ allmight figure!!!! Great cool store!

My kids wanted an older PlayStation 2 instead of the newest one. They enjoyed some of the older games from their younger childhood. This was the only local store I found that provided everything I needed including the console, controllers, memory cards and an extensive selection of games. The staff was knowledgeable. The used game discs were in good condition. They offer decent warrantys. They also offer a very wide variety of game-related collectibles. The offer much more than PlayStation related products. A PS2 was just what I needed at the time.

I love this store, being a game collector particularly when it comes to retro gaming I find this place a treasure trove of awesomeness, prices can be steep but being there and able to inspect the product you are getting is a huge selling point. Just yesterday I bought two in box retro Nintendo consoles a NES and SNES. Unfortunately the nes seems to have a capacitor issue or something and doesn’t work properly, I know the owner reads these reviews often and I do plan on calling y’all but is this something you might be able to repair?

3 Stars because of nostalgia feeling seeing all old systems I owned once. But youre better off selling any games,cards,or toys online. They will not give you enough $$$ then resell your items way more than what they offer. Plus alot of games are way overpriced. Friendly staff though Ill give them that. I still go go in because I stop going to game store in Other Mall.

Love this place! Its decorated with retro games and memorabilia from back in the day. They carry a wide range of great products-Funko Pops, Video Games, Retro Game Systems, and tons of stuff for anime fans too. We never had anything this great during the prime time of gaming back in the 90s, its definitely worth a stop even on a road trip. I know they do a free video game day each year with customers lined up almost around the mall,its crazy! They must be doing something right, plus the few interactions Ive had with the employees have always been pleasant.

I have been purchasing games and gear from the Gulf Port location of “Play and Talk” for a few years now and I am extremely pleased with not only with what I have found but with the people who work there as well. Everyone I have spoken with is very knowledgeable of what they are selling and are very helpful when I am looking for an obscure title. When it comes to the selection of games, I have been able to find everything ranging from the Atari 2600 all the way up to the PS4. Not only do they have a wide variety but their prices are extremely reasonable. I have not only purchased games but gaming equipment as well. They have a very respectable selection of retro console gear, i.e. power adapters, controllers, cables and the sort. I have recommended them to everyone I know who is interested in gaming from those who are just getting started to hardcore old guys like myself. As I mentioned I have been purchasing games and gear from them for a while, and will most definitely continue to do so.
