I had a factory recall for the passenger airbag for my 2008 Silverado. I contacted Bowman Chevrolet and they got in touch with me within a couple of hours. I explained the situation and they scheduled an appointment at my convenience. The day of the appointment when I arrived I drove into their garage, handed the technician my keys and waited. I was told it would take an hour. 45 minutes later it was done. The technician, Jed Hartman was very profession and courteous. He guided me through the paperwork and everything was complete. Was probably the best experience Ive ever had at a dealership. Charley was my salesperson and we done most of the deal and info through text, which made it easier. I drove 5.5 hrs to get the truck and was exactly what we discussed and the truck exceeded my expectations. Will definitely do business again the prices were unbeatable. The truck was completely loaded and beat the price of my local dealership. They had the same vehicle, same year, it did have 10k miles less than the one I bought, but it only had power windows power locks and was more expensive than the fully loaded one that I bought.

Its a shame because this place has potential. They unfortunately refuse to get rid of the ONE problem they have. Their service manager. All the mechanics are ready and willing to do their jobs. Its impossible when their service manager lies, ignores and disrespects the employees and sometimes even the customers. I would suggest talking to your mechanic personally to get the truth of the situation regarding your vehicles. The sales department may be amazing but the service department will continue to struggle with the leadership they have and wont change. Good luck.Edit.....as you can see the service manager has her feelings hurt. So she deflects. As to why the former employee was disgruntled....because the service manager changes mechanics pay without knowledge to the employee. So after 4 yrs of working there, he QUIT because of Jamie. When I was putting on the new tags today I noticed that the tailgate had been damaged, poorly repaired and poorly repainted. The repair is relatively new. Unreported damage. I accept partial blame for purchasing a used vehicle and not noticing the issue. However, I need to have trust in the dealership. One has to rely on the professionals to notice improper work or notify a prospective buyer of such damage. I made the salesman aware of the damage and he apologized. Disappointed. An outstanding salesman and sales manager are the reason for the three star rating.Post response comment : When your home is on fire and the Fire Department shows up do they need to ask you what you would like them to do ? From one business owner to another, how about the right thing.

We have come here for two different vehicles in the past year. Both times we were helped in every way possible. We had great experiences with Julie, Chad and Brooke! They took the time to help us find what we were looking for and in our price range. Julie went above and beyond to make sure I understood what I was purchasing with each vehicle(the warranty’s and such). They are also very kid friendly, as my children tagged along for both buying processes. Would highly recommend to anyone car shopping to go in and see these guys!

So let me put this out there because the customer service we have received from Joe Bowman Chevrolet service department has down right disgusted me! On Tuesday we dropped our 2010 Chevrolet Equinox off to have extended coverage work done for excessive oil consumption. Other then that there were no issues. I have never had a check engine light on or any other problems. Friday I get a call that the engine is back in the car but is now throwing a check engine light for a misfire in cylinder 3. The service department will not take responsibility,says it was like this already but they didn’t notice it till it threw a code after they had torn the engine down and put it back together and now want 300 dollars to fix it. Price is not the issue here, it’s the lack of them taking responsibility for their mistake. As you can see there is no corrosion on the exposed wires that have supposedly been that way for awhile. And as you can see there was no check engine light on my dash. Make sure you take pictures of your vehicle before you drop it off for work. Luckily my husband is a mechanic, the only reason it went there was because of the extended coverage,so I don’t have to pay them to fix their mistake. So now on Monday they will put the engine back together again and I will be picking up a car that needs work that it didn’t need when it went in. I would encourage everyone to drive the extra miles to the Staunton dealership if you need your car worked on. This is not the service I expected from a reputable dealership. Pictures of the dash before with no check engine light and pictures of the now exposed wire.

In the past Ive felt like I needed a shower after leaving a car dealer but my experience at Joe Bowman Chevy was fantastic. No games, no scribbling down vague numbers on slips of paper, no let me go see what I can do. Will absolutely do business with again.

I had a wonderful buying experience with Brooke. I had scheduled an appointment and wanted to look at two different vehicles. When we arrived, the vehicle that I was most interested in was off site being detailed. We live an hour and half away and decided that we really didn’t mind if the car wasn’t fully detailed. Brooke went out of her way to get the vehicle back to the dealership so that we could see it and she even vacuumed it out and wiped the seats down before we drove away in it! She was also very patient with my very particular husband.

In February we were looking to trade our truck for something a little smaller. Joe Bowman had a couple of vehicles that we were interested in so we took the 2 hour drive to check it out. Megan was EXCELLENT to deal with!! There was not a single question that we had that she could not answer. She was not pushy in any way, but very courteous and pleasant to deal with!!Chad was also very helpful and courteous as was Julie, the Finance lady.All in all it was SUCH a wonderful experience that when we were looking to replace a vehicle in August, we went back to Joe Bowman Auto Plaza and made a 2nd purchase!!! I wasnt looking forward to purchasing a vehicle. I emailed Joe Bowman Chevrolet-Cadillac on a Friday afternoon and quickly received a response. I went out on that night after work and meet with Jim Irvine, Tony Wright & Chad Austin. It was a pleasant, enjoyable, no pressure atmosphere. Saturday morning went back with my wife and purchased the truck. The entire process from beginning to end was actually enjoyable. Unprofessional and made things super complicated for us. The guy that attended us did not know what he was doing and had to run back several times to ask about certain things. He didnt want to negotiate price until our application was approved and then to say sorry we already put in an application, its non negotiable now. Unbelievable..

We recently purchased a truck. Sales woman was great. Finance employee was FANTASTIC! After shopping around, they found the best rate around which really surprised my wife as she works in/with auto loans all day, everyday. Unfortunately, the parts department kept me from giving Joe Bowman 5 stars. We inquired about a specific item and were told it was discontinued w/o checking in the computer. Keep in mind this inquiry took place within 30 minutes of the parts dept. closing! Later in the week we inquired again about the same item, this time through our Sales woman. Within a hour or two we were contacted and told the item had been ordered. Overall a good experience.
