These guys have pulled me out of a few situations before. Always quick and on time and they wont over charge you for a tow. I recommend them completely.

ZERO stars. This tow company may be a good service to call when you are broken down on the side of the road. However, when they impound your vehicle from the parking lot of off campus housing where your son lives, it’s another story. We had arrived late on Friday evening, after hours of driving, to stop to see our son before heading on to where we would be staying for the weekend. We had not been there more than 20 min when we were about to leave and what do we see? KAR towing pulling off with our vehicle. We called them immediately as they were leaving the housing complex and told them we had not been there more than 20 minutes. The guy on the phone stated we should have parked in the guest/visitor parking spaces. Which were completely full, as there are only 11 spaces. I asked him if he could just bring it back and we work out something but no, he insisted that I would have to come to their location and then call him and he would be there within 30 minutes and it would cost me $215 to retrieve my vehicle. I asked him if he could just wait there for a couple of minutes we would be right there and he said no, you don’t understand how this works. See he had already seen someone else parked ‘illegally’ and not in a guest space and wanted to retrieve that vehicle before they could leave. So, we get there and I call and he states he would be back shortly, for which he was, towing the other car he had seen. He stops and goes inside and I showed him the video of all of the guest spaces full, no sympathy at all, he states he doesn’t care if they were full I can’t park in the resident spaces (my name is on the lease too by the way) and so I asked him ‘where should I park then?’ he said I don’t know but you can’t park there. I tried to argue the point but then he proceeds to tell me that if I want to argue about it I can come back on Monday because technically they were closed. So, you see they take your vehicle, he knew were visiting from out of town and that he had me locked out of everything including my wallet and held that over my head then asked me how I am going to pay- considering my wallet was in the vehicle he took- I told him I needed to retrieve it from the vehicle. So I paid it because I didn’t have a choice. I could have paid a drop fee or something much more negotiable since it was completely unnecessary. I know they don’t know what vehicle belongs to whom and that they have agreements with several off campus housing facilities but this is outrageous. We were not blocking any entrances or in a fire lane and the parking lot was full of empty spaces. I am sure they will respond and say they were well within their right…and ok, so they were….doesn’t mean they can’t be reasonable. The tow fee was $160 and there was a $55 fee for ‘after hours’ pick up, never mind they didn’t go out of their way to come there to let me pick it up they were out impounding vehicles and came back to bring another one so, why the ‘extra after hours’ charge. I called the leasing management company where my son lives on the Monday after and they agreed that it was overkill. Not to mention the signage regarding the towing company at the housing complex doesnt even face the main road. You cant see it coming in-it took us 2 days to realize where it was, the only way we knew who towed us was because we saw them as they were pulling out. It is definitely taking advantage of college students and their families. I can only hope that one day, KAR towing and whoever those tow truck drivers were, find themselves in the same position and have someone treat them in the same manner. What comes around …goes around….treat others as you wish to be treated.

Amazing! The gentleman saved us!! Broke down from a snapped serpentine 2.5 hours from destination and 4 hours from home. Took him less than 30 minutes to get us (my 2 kids and dog). When he got there he was very professional and extremely kind to my children and even my dog. I luckily had a spare belt and we towed it to the shop and he put on my belt within 10 minutes and even gave a quick inspect. Hardly charged me a dime! Super fast and super friendly. If it wasnt for this gentleman and this company our weekend and pockets wouldve been wrecked. Excellent excellent service!! If you have any emergency and in their area I highly recommend them! Thank you very much and my children say the same thing! Bless that gentleman! To add, this was all after hours and on a weekend.

The experience I had was great from calling to the actual towing for my car. The woman, I wish I could remember her name, I spoke to was very nice even called a auto shop for me to see if the could work on my car today. Mike was incredibly nice and very professional. He put me and my Mom at ease when he got our car. He helped make our situation better. Mike asked us if we were okay and told us some information about the area we were in. I would recommend them, thank you so much for your help.

Taking college students money for parking in a spot that was supposedly in the way. $160 is a rip off for an honest mistake and bad luck for the one who parked there. Tow drivers attitudes were not friendly and they need better signage for “no parking” so they can stop taking advantage of young college girls by towing their cars and taking their money.

I understand that theyre just doing their job, but towing in places that dont have signs that say when they tow is a little bit low. Also, theyre one of the more expensive places to recover your vehicle from. Over 200 bucks to get your car? Really? Jesus.

This place needs to mark their parking spots better and not some little sign on building about no parking. My son was in the Japanese restaurant next door for 1/2 hour. He parked in one of KARs spots, not seeing the sign on the building. KaR towed his truck from their own lot and charged him $250! Did the same to two high school students. KaR just made $500 in less than one hour! In addition, the guy with the blue hair tonight was rude and acted like he was doing you a favor. The Japanese restaurant pointed out they have a sign on their door but there is other stuff on the door too so it is easily missed.

Locked my keys in my car. This Company provided Fantastic service! Great people, and very friendly. Went beyond the call of duty. They didnt price gouge even though it was a Sunday emergency call. I highly recommend this service!

I have never experienced a company with such unprofessional, poor customer service. This was the first time Ive had my car towed, so I called to simply, and very politely ask, What do I need to bring with me and how do I prove the car is mine? Drivers license? VIN Number? License plate number? Grandmothers maiden name? Name of my first pet? ANYTHING AT ALL? The lady I talked to exploded with fury, and acted like I had killed her first born son (who, by the way, was present in the office with her). I was so taken aback that I just barely stuttered, I was honestly just curious. I was then asked if I was trying to get an attitude. .....really? Its bad enough that I just had my car towed, do you have to act like a toddler and throw a temper tantrum for no reason at all? I was speechless. Next person I spoke with told me that I had asked the wrong question and that I was out of line. Apparently, I should have asked, How do I get my car? instead of, How do I prove that the car is mine? I guess I dont get my car towed often enough, because I should have known the protocol. I suggest avoiding these boorish, inconsiderate, simpletons as much as humanly possible.

Extremely fast service and very kind & understanding. They not only dropped my car off at the dealership with no hassle but also drove me back to my house so I didnt have to try and catch the dealership shuttle home. A lot of the bad reviews are from people whose car got towed without their knowledge but thats more of a complaint against the property owner and isnt the towing companys fault. Very professional and polite in my experience.

I will be reporting this business to BBB. The company should not be in business. They hunt down Jmu students, tow their vehicle, charge them a minimum of 160.00 up to 2,000. and take advantage of them while disrespecting them in by cursing at them, making demands, hanging up the phone, and keeping their vehicles and charging more by restricting them from picking up their vehicle (only at designated times) so they can make more money off the JMU students by charging more per hr and day. Someone needs to get this business out of the great community of Harrisonburg.

I felt my car keys in my vehicle and called kar towing. They said they would arrive in 10 minutes and was pleased when they arrive faster than 10 minutes! They were very friendly to me and helped me get my keys out faster than I thought. I have gotten my keys stuck before and usually I wait 15-20 minutes and have them work for 7 minutes to get them out with other companies, but I was very pleased with the work kar towing did that I had to review them! My business used this company for years with never one problem, their drivers has always treated my customers professionally and courteous, its sad that you read down through the reviews and the only negative ones you see are from people that was mad that they did a job they are contracted to do, so because the person that did wrong by parking where they wasnt supposed to be leaves a negative comment because they are actually mad at themselves for getting caught. I know when I go park at a place even as simple as Wal-Mart if the sign says handicap I dont park there or if it says reserved for residents or permit parking only I better have a permit or take the chance of getting a ticket and towed, so why would I get mad at a company or a cop for me not doing my part, they didnt park my car there, I DID my bad, this company is only continuing their great services to who they are contracted to do it for, so before leaving a negative comment, you might ask whos fault it really was first.Keep up the great work guys !!! They think the rules dont apply to them and just tow who they please. God forbid you question them theyll only respond in a rude manner. When you go for pick-up not only are they petty, but they try this laughable excuse for intimidation even if you are polite. If I had to describe them in one word itd be incompetent

Fantastic job by Mike! I had called and scheduled for first thing (8am) because I needed to leave for work soon after that. They informed me that they usually start at 8am and would pick up my car and then drop by. Mike showed up at my house at 7:45am - I didnt expect him until 8:30 as most individuals run behind. I told him the problems I was having with my car and he gave me some helpful possibilities to contact and check with. I then tried to tip him for his prompt, friendly, professional service and he would not accept the tip. If you are getting your car towed - ask for Mike.

My car broke down and I had to get it towed two hours away. KAR was very helpful and quick!! They picked up my car exactly when they said they would, and it arrived right on time as well. KAR did not even hesitate to give us a good deal based on our circumstances. Additionally, the employee who dropped the car off was very nice and accommodating. Complete sham! Towed my daughters car at 1:30am while she ran in to get a text book. Was there for 5 min. Parking lot was empty bc kids had already left for holiday. She called sobbing as she saw him drive away with her car. He wouldnt turn around and wanted to charge her $200.00 to pick it up that night. He then proceeded to say he would drop it to $165.00. When I called this morning he was rude and completely unprofessional!! Now the price is $150! I am filing a formal complaint about this business!Cant believe he is a business owner. This business should be shut down!

Discraceful. Took over two hours to arrive when I was told 45 minutes. I tried to ask questions about his whereabouts and the employee cussed me out on the phone. Its astonishing that this business is even open. As if getting your car towed isnt stressful enough, the employees made the experience incredibly more uncomfortable.

Terrible company that scams empty apartment lots on weekends and tows visitors. I hope they go out of business. I would also add they are extremely rude and will only try to make you out as a bad person/inconvenience when you question their ridiculous rates and terrible hours. Tow on saturday, and only open from like 12 to 2 on sunday, but if you miss the two hour window for pickup you get burned with a storage fee ontop of an ungodly tow bill. Scum bags plain and simple. And like the other reviewers say, their intimidation attempts are pathetic, they are nothing more than spineless cowards, lower than common criminals.

If I could select zero stars I would. This company is guilty of predatory towing and is run by the most unprofessional people I have ever encountered. I had my car towed from a visitor parking space, I called around and found out KAR had towed my car. I called to figure out how to pick up my car, and the man that answered was unequivocally rude and distasteful. I had to call him 4 times before he finally agreed to go back to the office to let me retrieve my vehicle. On the phone he also claimed a different price each time I called. These calls occurred within 4 hours of each other. He continuously pushed back the time we agreed to meet, then he was late to the meeting by 15 minutes. Punctuality is only one of the attributes he lacks. Upon meeting, he was rude and curt, and posed a fee of $215 as opposed to the $160 he told me on the phone. He claimed the extra money was because he had to come back to the office, but it is a 24 hour business.... I told him I was a college kid working myself through college, my daddy doesnt pay a dime. I told him this fee was far too high and it would have a hard impact on my finances. He didnt care, wouldnt look me in the eye. This occurred on a Sunday, being in college I had class in the morning at my school 2 hours away. I was not able to stay the night and figure a better price or argue the next day, this was late at night as well. So being in my position I paid the fee in order to get back to school. I ended up paying that deplorable man 13% of my worth.

My car broke down two hours from home on a Sunday and I thought I was stranded. Luckily I reached Mike and not only did he come out and check my car but he hitched up my car and drove me all the way home! He even worked with my insurance so I would have to foot the whole bill. Great bunch of guys and gals! Straight up with everything. Most tow companies get a bad wrap due to the nature of their buisness, but Scott and Beth are amazing to work with and have been more than fair with me on countless occasions. I imagine that most of the reviews will probably be negative but I can tell you after several years of working with KAR that 9 times out of 10, it is the vehicle owners own negligence or disregard of policies that got them towed. I do not care what people have said or what I always hear about tow companies, KAR included, I have yet to see any shady practices or unjustified towing done by KAR. Its ALWAYS the tow companies fault when individuals vehicles are towed, however, that generally not the case. In fact, I would argue that KAR 99.9% of the time tow fully within the guise of their contracts. It is not the tow truck drivers/companies fault people cant park correctly or just disregard parking policies at any given location, it is that vehicles drivers fault. That is not to say KAR does not make mistakes, they are human too. However, I will say after 5+ years of working with them on the property I manage, mistakes are far and few between. And the 1 or 2 mistakes I have seen, KAR has made it right at no cost or headache to myself or any of those vehicles owners. Moreover, I would like to add that any parents of students towed by KAR or any other local tow company, PLEASE make sure your child is being 100% honest with you. I say this because I see it way too often where a student is towed and they relay to their parents that it is not their faults or they were without a doubt parked in their spot etc. Just make sure they are telling the whole story and not just trying to redirect blame because they know they violated parking policies at a given location and are weary of relaying this to their parent(s) in fear of the repercussions or negative consequences for their decisions to park in a manner that resulted in them being towed. Again, the aforementioned is not every incident just a large portion of them, at least at the property I manage.

Mike Wildman of Kar Towing is a good guy. He took 3 different sets of cables, his time, and not my money to give my van enough juice to make it to the shop. This guy really knows his stuff!

On Christmas Eve, I was out doing some last minute shopping before working the night shift at my job in just a few hours. I was in a rush and somehow I managed to leave my car running and locked the door behind me, with groceries in the car, before going into a store. As soon as I realized what I did, I called KAR Towing to help me get into my car and Mike showed up very quickly and helped open the door in just a few minutes. I was so grateful and offered to pay him but he hugged me and wished me Merry Christmas and went on his way. If I, or anyone I know, ever experiences problems like this in the future I will always recommend KAR towing. Thank you for saving me.

On a Saturday evening, I was washing/cleaning my car nearby, with doors open several minutes. Then, it wouldnt start. KAR sent a tow truck in what seemed like mere minutes. The driver got it jump started so I could take it to the dealer for battery service, as I was due to leave town on a trip just three days later. Wasnt that timing fortunate! He wouldnt let me pay him for his time/help either. Definitely call KAR for ANY roadside assistance!

Predatory towing service. I came from out of town foe graduation and parked at my sisters apartment where there was virtually no cars parked and they came and towed it at 4 am. Pointless and useless and charge a rediculous amount. And are only open for 2 hours on saturday.

I cannot thank Mike Wildman with KAR Towing enough for coming to my aid. I was stuck on I-81 with a broke down vehicle. I have to admit that I was a little scared of being alone on 81 and the cars just flying by. Mike got to me within 10 minutes of my call. He was very polite, well mannered and consoling that all would be okay. Oh and the price was very affordable. I highly recommend KAR towing.

Running a business that tows cars that are parked illegally is a legitimate business that someone must operate. Poaching cars that will be illegally parked once the meter runs out is legitimate (albeit shady). Once the car is hooked up, threatening to drive off every time the owner asks a question is extortion. Not to mention, according to Virginia Law 46.2-1231(and I may be reading it incorrectly), K&R must give the opportunity for the owner to leave the space before the car is towed and cannot charge more than $25 to drop the car.The $$$ charged made me upset, but somewhat understandable... Holding me hostage at my vehicle is extortion.

11pm, daughter in need of jumpstart, and Im nearly 2 hours away. Call KAR Towing. The guy shows up in 10 minutes, gets her car started, then follows her to the gas station in case it wont start after she gets gas, does give her the second jump and discovers the likely cause of the problem, then sees her on her way. Best $55 I ever spent. Thank you for your kindness and professional service.

Let me start out by saying, Ive had a few cars towed in my time but never as well and careful as Mike did with this company. I have a 350z and Mike Wildman was THE only truck driver from Harrisonburg to Lydia mountain that was up for the challenge when my car was off the road and almost down a small cliff. Mike, as a gentleman, was kind, professional, smart, and reasonable. His towing skills are excellent and any tow I know of in that area I will direct them to this guy. To have a sports car and need a tow is scary but is no longer when near Harrisonburg and Mike is around. Give em a call if you need a tow. You wont be disappointed.

Very rude disrespectful crooked company Spanish tow driver hooked up to our truck as we were putting the permit in the window and refused to unhook it charged $160 never left the parking lot and said he was the manager part owner of the company I suggest you do not use this company for any services at all There’s many good companies here in the Shenandoah Valley with respectable good hard-working honest Americans

According to Virginia law § 46.2-1231 towing company cannot tow the car if owner is present and cannot charge unhook fee above $25. Not only they refused to honor the law, they went ahead hooked the car up and demanded $160... These guys do not care what the law is.§ 46.2-1231Notwithstanding the foregoing provisions of this section, if the owner or representative or agent of the owner of the trespassing vehicle is present and removes the trespassing vehicle from the premises before it is actually towed, the trespassing vehicle shall not be towed, but the owner or representative or agent of the owner of the trespassing vehicle shall be liable for a reasonable fee, not to exceed $25 or such other limit as the governing body of the county, city, or town may set by ordinance, in lieu of towing.

Very rude, only open for two hours on the weekend and charge you $55 for picking up your car at any hour outside of those. On top of that, they dont actually show up at the time you agree to pick up your car. Worst costumer service I have ever experienced. Use any other towing company.

Towed my all wheel drive vehicle completely wrong- without a flatbed truck and with dollies. The dealership said they could have completely messed up my transmission so now I have to get it checked out. Customer service was non-existent and employees were rude. Avoid if possible.

In an unfortunate/unexpected breakdown this past Wednesday, Mike at KAR was quick to my rescue!! Very knowledgeable and courteous, and made a very tough time a little easier. Thanks Mike and KAR!! You Rock!

I will say. KAR towing is completely in the right to tow illegally parked cars. However there is no reason to be rude when someone asks how to pick up their car. I did not have my car towed. However, an acquaintance of mine did. When given a charge and comparing it to the list of charges they had posted (even considering after hours and Friday evening towing) the math didnt add up. The charge was approximately 50 dollars greater than the sum of their charges per their own sign in the shop. When asked about this the leader of the shift started saying dont get smart or we can step outside. I appreciate that they have a job to do and no one wants to work night shift. But if you want respect you need to give it and trying to overcharge or have hidden fees is not a way to earn repsect. I will not be using KAR towing for any of my personal towing needs.

The driver, Mike, was most efficient and courteous. After me calling their office asking to be towed to the shop, the truck arrived within minutes and my car was towed to the repair show in less than 30 minutes.

I give 5 stars because I WAS illegally parked but my car has illegal aftermarket suspension by Virginias laws since Im registered and tagged in Florida my car sits very low, so low the driver couldnt hook up to my car and I got away free of charge lol.

This business is family owned and operated. We strive to provide excellent customer service and treat all of our customers like family. Our services include automotive repair and 24 hr towing service. I have read several of the reviews and I am not surprised that all of the bad reviews are based on the fact that each individual was towed for illegally parked vehicles. Granted I realize that people are not happy when their vehicles have been towed when they have parked in a residential complex or a business that have parking rules. Generally the majority know that they were parked where they were not permitted and are rather nice and know that they have been towed for that purpose, however then you have the ones that insist that the tow companies are in the wrong, that we are scum, crooks predictors, when in all actuality we are just doing a job that we are contracted to do and follow a set rules from the businesses who request our services. We try to be very pleasant to all who walk through our door, we do have to put up with being threatened and verbally abused and most of the negative comments reflect just one part of each individual situation.With that being said please remember KAR Towing for all your automotive and towing needs. The gentleman that assisted me arrived in a very timely manner, was exceptionally polite and courteous, and charged a very reasonable price. My personal experience with K.A.R was excellent, and I would definitely recommend this company to anybody.

They highly overcharged me for fixing my brakes, and they even STOLE wiring out of my trunk which supported my speakers. Definitely a bad business, except for the employee Brian who is a nice guy.

Exorbitant rate. Vultures. Lied to us tried to say that the police set their rate. Straight up dishonest.Im not complaining about getting towed. It wasnt even my car. These people just straight up suck. Try to blame others for setting exorbitant rates. Try to make up an after hours rate. This is a long overdue, and well deserved review. I am a Sergeant in the Marine Corps and was in the process of moving my Wife and I (and our two dogs) from NC to FL. I was towing a trailer filled with 4,500lbs of our household belongings with my 99 F350 with my motorcycle and large tool check in the bed. Unfortunately I broke down on the highway, truck would crank but wouldnt turn over. It was a Saturday so all local shops were closed. I tried to self diagnose the problem and ordered the part from a local auto parts store. They said the part would be in in the morning. About 20 min after breaking down, a DOT vehicle pulled up, asked if all was good, and I told him my plan. He said I would be fine for 24 hours, and he would inform the local PD so they could occasionally check up on it.About 3AM that morning I received a call from the State Police saying my truck was being towed. I took the wifes car and the officer had them tow it to a truck stop right off the exit instead of the impound lot. That bill was about $160 just to go a mile. (Not K & R Towing) After receiving the part the next day, installing it and having no success, I called AAA to get it towed to a Ford dealership once again not even a mile away. When the tow company came (after 3 hours), they said they wouldnt be able to tow the truck due to the motorcycle and tool chest in the bed due to AAAs policies, but he could tow it not covered by AAA for another immense fee. After arguing all night with AAA and how I couldnt get the motorcycle or tool box off of the truck and Im trying to get to my next Duty Station, but they cant cover my tow less than a mile, we went back to the hotel. Monday morning I went into Ford and they said if they towed it that theyd call K&R and Ford charges a fee to call so Itd be cheaper to walk across the street and get them myself.I did just that. When I walked in it looked like a busy morning with them already having a few jobs that they were about to head out on. The owner ( I apologize I forgot your name) said it would be an hour or so and grabbed my number. Ten minutes later he called me and said he was on his way, that he could just grab my truck real quick since it was closer. After hooking up, driving my truck and me off at Ford, I asked him how much and he put his hand up and said, dont worry about it, Thank you for your service! I was so caught off guard and with the previous encounters being so irritating and frustrating, my luck being horrible; his generosity and kindness really hit me. I thanked him and tried to at least tip him which he also refused! Once Ford had my truck running and fixed(4 Days later) I hooked the trailer back up and got back on the highway.... For 10 miles before it broke down again. I called Ford, and K&R was on their way again. This time it was a different, younger driver who was just as polite during the hooking up process and took car while doing so. Once again, when we reached the Ford Dealership, he refused to charge me, but I was at least able to force a tip into the handshake! Thank you so much K&R Towing! Yall saved my life, along with my sanity! If only the Ford mechanics were better and I didnt have to spend 12 nights in a Hotel with a 100lbs Lab and 100lbs German Shepard, I would have enjoyed my time in Harrisonburg.Ill end this with my perspective on why K&R gets a bad rap. They are located near/in a college town, continually dealing with college students that are either running late to class and park where ever, or just park where ever because they think they can. I only say this because my wife was the exact same way in NJ when she was attending, and hated the local tow company, but it was always her fault. The school would call the tow company to remove the improperly parked vehicle, and the tow company (just doing their job) gets the bad rep!Once again, Thank you!

I dont know if Mike still works there, but years ago (8+ years) my car broke down and had no money whatsoever. Mike towed me for free and housed my car for a month until I could come pick it up. I was really in a jam and he helped a nobody college student. Thank you Mike.

I thought I had parked my vehicle in a free parking area, but I was wrong. After leaving it there for 3hrs it was towed. I went to KAR, it was closed, but the gate was open and a man was sitting in the tow truck, headlights on, window down. A girl with him, in pajamas with her feet up on the dash. I approached the truck and said excuse me, my car got towed, how can I get it back? He completely ignored me. Started messing with his phone. So I said um. hello? my car is the white Honda there. What do I need to pay to get it?? He didnt look at me or even acknowledge my presence. So I got in my car, put it in reverse and tried to leave. He blocked me in with his truck, so I got out of my car walked up to him again and said I NEED MY CAR. I have asked you SEVERAL times what I need to do to get it. What is your problem?? He said I have an officer on the way. So three very nice Harrisonburg police officers were there in minutes, asking what happened. I explained exactly what happened and said Ive never been in trouble, I had no intention of starting any trouble. All the man had to do is answer my question. The officer talked the driver, came back to me and said He says you can have your car right now if you pay him $216. OR you can come back tomorrow during business hours and pay $160. I said Ok why couldnt he simply tell me that instead of ignoring me and calling the police?! All of this could have been avoided! The officer was very nice, said he understood why I was so irritated, that I was free to go. He said that the manager COULD charge me with trespassing if he wants because I entered the gate.I left, went back today and was told it would cost $215. Um what?! Yep. $160 plus $55 for a release fee instead of pressing charges against me. I understand they have a job to do, I understand that my car was not parked where it should be. However, if I come to the business, approach the only employee (ish) I see there and ask how I can get my car back, why doesnt he tell me?? A simple you are not allowed to be behind the gate here. $215 now or come back tomorrow and pay $160. I would have left peacefully with no argument.This place is a dump and the drivers are rude and disrespectful. You can do your job without treating people like complete trash. Just another example of why jerks like this and their businesses get no respect.I will never go there for anything. I recommend that everyone avoid this place at all costs.

Price gauging, predator towing, scam artist, heartless, rude people that takes gross advantage of hardworking people. Do NOT call on K.A.R Towing for any car needs you might have. They are a black mark on Harrisonburg, VA

This place is a joke, the lady that works inside try to say I was a scam artist when I called them to tell them that the lug nuts to my vehicle was stripped and I wanted my money back because it is gonna charge double of the damage they done to MY vehicle, with that being said I DONT recommend noone to use this tow service or shop .

What a horrible service. At 5 pm last night my car broke down right as my son pulled out of the parking lot in the middle of Harrisonburg. The police woman was trying to be helpful and she called KAR towing instead of Kees towing or Randys towing - by mistake. They showed up and said that they cant tow the car to our mechanic (10 mi away) because they had other calls, moved the car back to the parking lot, charged us $60.00 and I had to call the other tow company to tow my car to the mechanic. Nausiating...

K.A.R. Towing & Repair LLC is based on fraud; very rude and unprofessional employees, dishonest and disrespectful owner. K.A.R. Towing & Repair LLC should be closed down. If Harrisonburg City Council wont get rid of those crooks JMU students should sue $$$$$hit out of those criminals.

We locked our keys in car in high school parking lot...Called K.A.R. and within minutes, Mike met us in the parking lot and we had our keys in hand!So glad I made the call to K.A.R.Thanks!

I called, asked could they pick it up from the rear since I had a seized brake caliper on the rear, driver hooked it from the rear no problems, delivered my car to my mechanic, overall a good experience.

Legally stealing cars. Thats what they do. Was towed, charged $215 to get my car out of their impound lot less than an hour after being towed (granted, it was 9:45P). Theyre shady, unprofessional, and like to threaten people when were no thrilled about the incident. Least of luck to you, snakes.

These guys are predators and are about as crooked as they come! I’ve watched them “raise the drop-fee the more they raise the vehicle,” then laugh at the girl as she panicked, in tears, trying to get her money together. Then the guy just pocketed the money without giving a receipt, and just DROPPED the car. Ask ANYONE who lives or visits off campus housing near JMU, and they will tell you how crooked, disrespectful, and outright criminal these guys are!!! If you need a tow call AAA instead!
