Doctor Fenton has always been excellent. She more than looks out for her patients and advises them on getting the best treatment no matter what or where it is. I would highly recommend her. When I had some serious vision issues she even gave me her cell phone to contact her if needed. And I did. Several times. How many doctors do that? Excellent lady all the way around.

Dr. DeKuiper was wonderful! As well as his assistant and tech Shana. Shana was very knowledgeable and help the process go very smooth before Dr. DeKuiper came in the room.Best experience at an eye doctor appointment every!!@

This location employs covid deniers, at the same time working with an elderly at-risk population. One employee, MT, enjoys mocking people who choose to be safe by wearing masks or getting the vaccine. Their employees party on weekends in large groups without masks. I would warn anyone who is elderly or has underlying conditions to find a different provider, since this one does not take your health very seriously!

I was very impressed with my experience Friday with the Holland based Grand Rapids Ophthalmology and especially Monica Fenton OD. She was very thorough and spent the time with me to get my eyes examined more so than I’ve ever had.Thank you for your in depth evaluation and that you identified things with my eyes that was a learning process for me. Dr. DeKuiper is superb. He answered all the questions I had, took sincere interest in my health concerns and never seemed rushed. His depth of knowledge is remarkable and it is easy to trust him totally. He is blessed with both excellent customer service, as well as skill.

I needed an appointment sooner than later because my vision had changed again. I called the places close to my home and they have an end or March appointment window. I called GR Opthamology and they got me in within a week. Upon arrival everyone was practicing social distancing and wearing masks. Each pair of glasses I tried on was sanitized after before putting back on the shelf. I had an excellent experience from my arrival until I left. Highly recommended and I will take my entire family there from now on.

After 30 years of wearing glasses, I must say, THIS is, by far, the BEST eye care center in all of West Michigan. The professionalism is exactly what you want as the examination quality was thorough and beyond my expectations. Lewis DeKuiper, OD, has obviously had many years of experience and has a pleasant demeanor; he completely covers every detail of the state of your eye health. Almost all of the other places, like RX Optical, Walmart, and others, were lacking in the eye exam / evaluation arena, and strong in the hard sell for frames / lens department. GRO does NOT try to push you into purchasing lenses if they arent necessarily needed. I cant even express how impressed I am, truly. Its so great that we have a branch here in Holland. Holland is often in need of true professionals in any area of health care.

Dr Fenton, is a very knowledgeable caring physician. Shes very honest and open with you up front She gives you her opinion and she listens to what you have to say. She will do everything she can to help you even if it takes her out of her way. Our family wont see anyone but her she is our doctor We wish we could find doctors like her and the other fields that we have to see because shes an extremely good person and physician and with her deeply about her.

I dont typically write reviews, but Dr. DeKuiper is a wonderful physician and ophthalmologist, so I had to for him. I have been seeing him for the last eight years and my family sees him as well. Its heart warming when he asks me how everyone is doing. As a future physician myself, I love doctors who take time to get to know their patients! At my most recent visit, I had to get new glasses and contacts and everyone who helped me in those departments were very kind and efficient. A bit more selection for eyeglasses wouldnt hurt, but I did overhear that they were getting more in stock soon while I was there. Anyways, I definitely recommend this place :)

Visited yesterday for my 1st time and had a great experience! The Holland location was able to get me in right away. I recieved an eye exam from Dr. Diekema. She made it such an easy and enjoyable experience. I definitely appreciated her smile and positivity! Rachel helped me picked out several pairs of glasses. She was great as well and made selecting my 3 pairs very easy. Thank you! I will definitely be back! I would highly suggest everyone to come to this location!

I had a great experience! The entire staff was very welcoming when I arrived and each staff member I encountered was very personable and friendly! Candace helped me pick out my new glasses and she was very helpful and new just what style would fit my face best. I am going back with my daughter and would highly recommend! Cant wait for my new glasses to arrive!

We have been going here for 14 years and actually look forward to our annual visit! Dr. Fenton is amazing- so very nice, takes her time explaining things, and is just simply amazing. The office staff are nice and professional. And we enjoy picking out glasses with Candace. She is very helpful and we actually have fun picking out glasses.

Probably wont go here again. Got a contacts prescription, the exam and Dr. Dekuiper was great. They give you a very bare bones receipt. I wanted to get contacts online and found a rebate that required a more detailed receipt. I asked the person about this and they told me it would take the billing department about a month to send one out. A month! I waited and after 2 months nothing ever came. I wont be using them again and I dont recommend it for you either.

My experience was awesome with Dr Fenton. She took extra time with me and made my visit better than I expected. He expertise was much appreciated and she explained everything to me in detail. I would highly recommend using her on your next eye exam.

Dr. Fenton is a fantastic eye doctor. She has wide ranging, thorough, and up to date knowledge about all things related to eyes. She is detailed, takes the time to explain things, genuinely cares about her patients, and puts her patients’ needs first. After being my eye doctor for many years I trust her and know that I am getting the best care possible.

I have been going to this office for over a decade, only because I really had no choice since I was a minor and under my parents insurance. As time passed I realized how I couldnt see as well as I use to. I mentioned it in the office many times, but they said my prescription hadnt changed and continued to give me the same prescription. As college passed by, I noticed I couldnt sit too far back in class, otherwise I would not be able to see the board. It came to the point where I couldnt even read subtitles off a television, that everyone else could read from a distance. So, for a couple years, Ive been walking and driving blind, thinking this was normal vision, till people started commenting on how I should have been able to see and read things. One year, I decided, hey, I want to start wearing contacts the process was going alright, I was trying on contacts for fittings, well one of the fittings didnt go as planned. I bought 6 months worth of prescription that I was never fitted into. We werent even sure if it was going to feel comfortable or even the right prescription, they told me to still go ahead and just purchase it before the fitting because they didnt have that contact in stock for a fitting. So, here I am buying 6 months worth of contacts, that has felt super uncomfortable and that I could barely see in. Now, Im on my own insurance and decided to finally switch places. The new place confirmed that my prescription has changed and that my old prescription wasnt even helping my astigmatism. I also have a new prescription for contacts. May I say, everything looks way different now. I can actually see. I was a little disappointed that all these years Ive been walking around basically blind, thinking this was normal sight, when in reality, it wasnt. I am grateful for the new ophthalmology center that I am going to now, for the great customer service, everyone seems to enjoy their job, and also care about the customers needs. When I told them that I didnt want to base my new prescription on my old prescription due to me realizing that my old prescription was not helpful, they went along and listened to me and helped me. Some of the workers in the Grand Rapids ophthalmology in Holland, especially the woman working in the eye glasses fitting area, did not seem as they enjoyed their work and just had a stinky attitude. It seemed as if you werent wanted and you were just an abundance of annoyance to their life.

(Holland location) Attentive and friendly every step of the way. Very patient and helpful with a special shout out to Adam who helped my son pick out some new frames. Also we never waited more than a minute or two for the eye exam (Dr DeKuiper), to the contacts expert. Would highly recommend.

Great place

I have been wearing contact lenses for 25 years, and have NEVER had such a horrible experience with an optometrists office. The lack of attention to my case was overwhelming. As a new patient, i was required to pay an additional $65 for a fitting??? ....which I didnt even receive. They handed me my boxes of lenses, and sent me on my way. No solution, no case, or any instructions on my new lenses. They didnt seem to care a single bit that i went out of my way and waited 2 weeks for this appointment, just to be passed over as unimportant. I would give fewer than one star if i could. Dont waste your time here, you could get much better service and care at a WalMart optical center.

I have gotten nothing but bad experiences at this office first I schedule an appointment for my kids they said the closest appointment they could give me was two and a half months out so I agreed one week before the appointment they called me to cancel for an unforseen situation Wich I thought no big deal right. Way later I called to reschedule my appointment and they gave me a Saturday appointment Wich on their website it says that they are close on Saturdays I called the office and they confirmed that it was closed we were at the door pulling the door and it wouldnt opened and the hours on the door said mon-fri closed Saturday so I call the emergency line for the on call nurse and she told me that she couldnt understand why they gave me that appointment since they dont open on Saturday well after that I called the office and they said that they were opened for Saturday but the phones dont work and also they were having trouble with a the door because it wouldnt opened schedulers dont work on Saturday but the office was opened she offered to reschedule but I turned it down since it seems that they dont know anything on how to run that business so all in all Im taking my business elsewhere too much hussle and Its not worth jumping thru many hoops just to get my kids glasses. If there was less than one star I would rate this office a big Negative One 🌟

Ordered contacts before Thanksgiving and told they would be in on Thanksgiving Eve and they would call when in. December 1 I called to inquire and was told they were on the UPS truck for delivery on December 2. Show up at the office on December 2 to pick them up only to find out they are closed as of 11 a.m. that day for a holiday party. You couldnt have mentioned that when I was on the phone just yesterday?

I respect dr. Kuiper very much. Hes very honest in his approach to eye Care. I highly recommend him to anyone.

The doctor was 50 minutes late and we were her first appointment of the day. After that she spent maybe 10 minutes with my infant over the course of two exams and rushed us off without the chance to process what she was telling us or to come up with questions.No apology was offered for keeping an infant waiting nearly an hour in an exam room.Really disappointed with the experience.
