Very unique experience. Its interesting to see them make your ice cream and their flavor combinations are well thought out. A lot of different ice creams and drinks with a cute atmosphere.Great place to take a date or the kids. If you are in the shopping center its a great way to end a trip, especially if it has been a hot day.
I wanted to try the rolled ice cream I have been seeing on Instagram and also gain the experience of seeing how they make it! I got recommended to this place which is in china town. The parking in this shopping center is hectic. I went on a Sunday and it was crazy packed! When you go in you immediately get attracted to their Superman imagine on the wall made out of sticky note so cool! They have two menus on the side (they serve ice cream roll ups and other things as well!) we ordered and they immediately started doing our ice cream roll ups. It’s so interesting how they do it. Worth seeing making it! The girl restroom is Hello Kitty themed. We decided to eat there and we noticed how the tables and chairs represented classroom tables/chairs how different! The staff was nice. Ice cream was yummy! I would recommend everyone to come get their ice cream and gain the experience of seeing how they make it and eating in a classroom! Will come back thank you!
Place is small and clean. I got the mango and it was so good. My only complain is that the first time that they swiped my card, the system kinda froze so the cashier took my ordered again and swiped my card. The receipt came out the second time but after checking my bank account it showed that they charge me 3 times.
Lots of fun! The rolled ice cream is novel but doesnt seem THAT much superior to regular ice cream, but it was fun for something different. The rest of the menu also seems intriguing. One of our group tried ginger milk which was surprisingly excellent! I would definitely go back and try more things. Be aware that the parking lot for this complex is monstrous and it can be hard to find a parking place.
I loved my visit. The place was a decent size, & cute. Its made to look like a classroom, which made the decor unique. Ice cream was delicious. It wasnt too crowded. & most importantly, good service.
The rolled ice cream here is really good! The theme is also nice, classroom based as the name implies. Being a bigger guy, however, the small desks (seats) were a bit tough to get in and out of. The way the prepare the ice cream is really cool too. Thats what attracted me the most. It fell just shy of 5 stars because I thought that it was a bit pricey for a decent amount of frozen deliciousness. Spend around $15 for 2 peoples dessert. To add to this, the flavor of your ice cream depends on the person making it. The staffs attitudes were neither here nor there. It seems as if they were just there to do their job and nothing else. Overall the place, was great and I would definitely be back if im in the area!
Great Place for some Thailand style rolled ice cream. Flavors are changed regularly had berry-berry on the last visit. It does run busy so be patient with order. Youll need 10-15 minutes when your there before your ready to take a bite of your roll. Lots of tea options and variety of smoothies!!! Overall worth a trip to Class 502
Ice cream was great. Super fresh. Nice place to relax and unwind from your weekly stress. Its about $6 per cup which is not bad considering how much youre getting.
The environment is really cute although very small and if there is a lot of people, its extremely cramped. The process is fun to watch and adds to the ambiance! Although I give 3 stars and enjoyed the experience, I didnt care for the ice cream itself. It literally tastes like they poured heavy whipping cream onto the plate to freeze. Too heavy and a little bland for my taste but my friends enjoyed it.
Need to add options of almond milk or coconut milk and soy milk for latte and milk teas. Need some addition of non sugar ice cream as well. It would be better to have a front person who could understand English fluently all the time. I got one girl, who had a tough time to understand a simple order. A proper training is recommended.
This is a good place to hang out! Its not a place I would go to often cause the ice cream and drinks arent anything special and once youve seen the ice cream being made, its the same thing over and over. Still might be worth trying if youve never been to a place like this!
Delicious rolled ice cream, very fruity and creamy. 5 flavors for the rolled ice exam. One was out of stock. $5.99 per portion . Cute place, loud music, relaxed customer service. Was my first time and maybe my last time, only because I didnt find anything worth it.
Loved It! Super tasty and super cute! Bathrooms are clean and decorated super cute! Class room vibe and excellent customer service!
The way they make their rolled up ice cream is a definite show for good memories or whatnot, but the ice cream isnt too sweet or special. You get what you pay for and you get a lot of ice cream. Their whole store is so decked out cute like a Japanese classroom and its brightly lit.
Never had such bad ice cream!I will never go back. You pay eight to ten dollars for watching them make ice cream - ice cream that tastes really cheap with artificial flavor. We ordered three, two of our kids finished a quarter of theirs. You are much better off buying ANY ice cream from a super market. The way the make it is to pour melted ice cream on a cold plate, spread it out to form a think layer, give it a minute to harden, and use a little hand shovel to roll it up to five small rolls, then decorate it with stuff. Oh well, all for show. The store is nicely decorated though.
Employees are very friendly and dessert here is delicious!!!! I totally recommend. I completely love the “school” theme inside. Makes the whole experience even better.
First time trying this type of ice cream. It was great seeing them chopping, swirling and freezing our ice cream right there. The place is super cute with the school desks and chalkboards. Need to go back.
Class 502 was once a quiet little tapioca shop. Every single time I passed by, it was empty. Now, though, its a raging beast of a place with lines often out the door. All for their newly introduced thai-style ice cream! They mix together the ice cream base and pour it out on a frozen pan, which then freezes the ice cream on the spot. They roll it out and turn them into ice cream rolls with topping.Really, its beautiful to look at. But worth it? Not so much. I waited about 45 minutes for my ice cream to come out, and it wowed me at first. But as I took a bite though, I was more than a little disappointed. The frozen pan freezes the ice cream in a way so that its stiff and icy - not creamy at all. While the flavors are okay, hard, icy cream was a huge disappointment. Ive had this rolled ice cream elsewhere, and it wasnt hard like this.It may be quite popular for now, but I cant really give my recommendation here. Try someplace else - there are so many other great dessert spots in Chinatown!
Iced cream is good, but I really enjoy the tea selection. Comfortable environment, but the music is a bit loud and doesnt smell too amazing. I enjoy it enough though, Ill be back
I like the atmosphere! The cute little desks were a nice touch and goes well with the name! The superhero made out of sticky notes is one of a kind. The ice cream is really creamy and you can get as many toppings as you like. I gave it a 4 because parking is terrible and the desks were a bit troublesome for my fiancée who is 5.9.
Love this place. Its fun to watch them make the ice cream. The ice cream is so rich and creamy! The small desk seating is adorbs!
Really good ice cream and a show! Definitely recommend bringing your kids, they will love watching the ice cream get rolled into a cup.
Enjoy their ice cream very much! They work hard on making each order perfectly for the customers. Great job guys!
Super fun place. Watch your ice cream get rolled and sip on some tea while you wait. I had the banana milk tea it was amazing.
Adorable establishment that creates a clever take on traditional ice cream in very chic designs with delicious toppings. Great for dates!
I went to see what all hype was about rolled ice cream and I left unsatisfied. The taste of the ice cream was very... bland. The texture was not ice cream like it was more like a watery paste. They did not put a lot of cookies or nuts or m&ms. They were very greedy with it although the ice cream is very expensive. Only thing I liked, was them actually making the rolled ice cream it was nice to watch. Thats it!
They were very quick at making the ice cream! it was also cool that you could watch them while it was made
Came here for the rolled ice cream. They take some custard, freeze it on a circular anti griddle, and roll it up with colorful fruity toppings. Be aware that the ice cream takes quite a while to make.
Cute atmosphere and yummy desserts. They add a while bunch of fruits, cookies, etc to your rolled ice cream and its mouth watering!
Choose your ice cream and will smoosh your toppings in using their marble slab. The coconut ice cream was amazing. Milkshake was good too. For one ice cream
Class 502 serves up ribbon style ice cream in a number of Tasty flavors. They pack in all sorts of add-ins like oreos, chocolate syrup, and pocky to keep the taste varied and interesting. My favorite flavor is the coffee flavor.
Didnt find this place terribly unique. Ice cream was tasty
The rolled Ive cream here had a better flavor and mouth feel than other places we have tried. Would recommend this place even though the prices are a little high for ice cream.
Cute ice cream place. The wait was a little long on the weekends but the ice cream was great.
An interesting take on ice cream, I recommend the mango madness its a good solid selection. The cookies and creme was a bit of a let down, and on our visit they did not have any red beans for the teas.
Very friendly and the ice cream is delicious! Definitely coming back here.
Rolling ice cream is awesome to watch and tastes fresh. Its like a dessert version of Benihana
Had the matcha green tea flavor. It was good but if you arent use to the flavor you may not like it was its not really sweetened.
Exciting environment. A good place to hang out with friends and family for dessert.
Great variety of ice creams. Loved their Lychee, Mango and Coffee ice creams.
Came here for the rolled ice cream. Super cute lol. They take some custard, freeze it on a circular anti griddle, and roll it up with colorful fruity toppings. Super instagram worthy.
Its good. Snow ice, boba, and the cute interior decor that reminds me of an elementary school. Also the WiFi is great. Not too crowded, at least during the day time.
Love this place! Really cool the way the make the ice cream and also very tasty.
Overall really fun experience! Ice cream is delicious too!
First of all, great atmosphere, fun and can-be nostalgic decorations with Asian classroom theme. Quite a nice place to hang out, especially for medium or large groups. Place smells like seafood tho for some reason (?!)Staff wasnt that friendly during last visit, however. A smiling face sure would help but maybe it was a long day for everyone.A fastinating experience to watch the ice cream get rolled up, yet the taste might not be as interesting. Ordered the matcha one (cant recall the exact name) and it got quite bittery. Anyway, might come back to try something else or probably just to hang out.
Ite cool to check out but I didnt enjoy the cookies n cream ice cream it didnt taste right could have added more Oreos . Aside from that its still a cute place worth checking out
Each time I go here its always a wonderful experience.
The tables are old school elementary seats. Uncomfortable for tall/big people. Other than that, the desserts are great
We went to try out the roll ice cream, but unfortunately it didnt taste good, not coming back
Chocolate lovers... pick something fruity. Nothing special, and not worth $6.45.
To be completely honest the ice cream making method is cool but I just dont like the hard texture and takes a while to make, I prefer the fluffy ribbon ice cream or shaved ice cream
HORRIBLE experience. Staff seemed a little scatterbrained and at first told me they had thai tea, then retracted that statement.. my partner and I both had some really good thai rolled ice cream in Chicago and were really looking forward to trying this place out. A young guy rolled my partners, and everything was fine, but an older man came out and rolled mine, (I ordered the classy coffee) he left half of my ice cream on the spatula and discarded it in the water sink behind him. Leaving my ice cream spread so thin it looked more white than brown.... they ended up smothering it in chocolate sauce and topping to make it seem more full. I am thoroughly disappointed in this place and I wont be sending any business their way. I ended up throwing the ice cream out because if I wanted to eat a cup full of m&ms and chocolate syrup, I could have done that for a 10th of the price, at home.
L o v e this atmospheregreat for studying with free wifi or just a hangout
They dont accept Discover or Amex but damn it doesnt matter. Hands down probably the best place for boba in Houston.
Great place to take the family. The Black Swan is terrific.
Great place to hang normal ice cream in a roll form
The ice cream is very delicious and the wait is not too long. However they play their music very loud which I didnt mind but they dont censor the music (mostly rap) which might be inappropriate for younger children.
I wish I could find a closer place where I live but since I cant, I drive a long way for this. Totally worth it.
It fast god and was cool to watch them role the ice cream
Great ice cream shop in the heart of Chinatown to take a date.
Parking: Large parking lot but does get very crowded in this shopping area at night. May have to hunt someone for parking or just go to one of the two parking garages. Do note that the parking garage closest to 502 has almost no lights on the 4th floor.Time and Day: Came on a Wednesday afternoon and it was basically empty. However it doesn’t mean I was in and out with my order.Food: I ordered the Berry Berry ($6) and it was mediocre. The presentation is amazing and watching them it in front of me is really cool. (I am sure you can find many videos on youtube). However, the time and cost for this one cup of ice cream was not worth it to me. It doesn’t taste any better than any ice cream you can get at HEB or your grocery store. So I rather save my $6 and just get a carton of ice cream and be happy for a week rather than one day. Food gets a 3/5.Service: Service is okay but really, really slow. And if you are here on a weekend, expect the wait to be more than 40 minutes (I came in one time during a Saturday evening and the cashier told me that it would take 40 minutes to make me one). If you ever seen them make it, then the long wait makes sense. It does take a large amount of time to just make one. Service gets a 3/5.Price: Very pricy for the ice cream. Drinks seem average price.Overall: Interesting place to have ice cream made. However, the price and the time required to make it is not worth coming back to. Maybe once if you never tried it before. As for drinks, nothing really special here. Overall, this place gets a 3/5.
Good environment, nice friendly professional staff, delicious drink, would recommend to my friends and family.
Pretty decent milk tea, with a strong tea flavor that I like. It was a little on the expensive side, but I guess thats why you go on Mondays for the BOGO special. Their fruit tea was pretty special, chopped fruit pieces in tea that tasted refreshing and slightly bitter. I think this place is worth a try, pretty different from how Kung Fu Tea tastes but in a good way. I get that the chairs and desks go with the classroom theme, but the seating is so uncomfortable and probably deters people from hanging out here more.
It was delicious up until the server was cutting their fingernails while we were eating ice cream. Just f ing nasty.
Very nice people, also very aesthetic.
Theyre just rude. I dont know maybe only me 😂 I just came because my sister wanted the ice cream over there.
Very unique decoration. The shop is designed like a classroom.
I loved watching them roll the ice cream 😄
Closed on Sundaysss??????? What kind of place is this? Sundays is when most of the people are off for enjoying a delicious ice cream with family.
Too expensive and usually i have to wait here. The space and decoration are really nice and creative.
One of the best tea place with cute decoration and good drink
Class 502 had their Grand Opening at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9th, 2015. They had a buy one, get one free special that night, and the first 100 customers that showed up received a free gift card up to $100! Now, you might be wondering why I am being so specific about this... Well, I was the first person in line at 6:00 p.m. on the dot! Boom! How addicted to boba do you have to be to show up to a Bubble Tea Grand Opening? I may have a slight problem...A friend from California told me that theres a bubble tea/shaved ice place called Class 302 back home which is a Taiwanese spot with classroom-inspired desks & chairs known for shaved-ice treats & hearty dishes. Class 502 is the same exact concept. Dun Huang Plaza is getting filled with these bubble tea spots, including the newly open Sharetea nearby, Tea Bar & Organics, Tbaar, Kung Fu Tea, Boba Lounge, and a few others. This is awful because Im a boba fiend, and this is making my addiction go out of control.Anyways, back to the boba. I ordered a Jasmine Green Tea with tapioca and light sugar for the first official purchase. They actually recognized me from online and gave me my drink for free! That was mad legit and impressed my friends. Also, a cute girl was dressed in a school girl outfit holding a giant box and let me choose one of the gift cards inside. As for the tea, it reminded me of Tea Bar & Organics especially with the non-transparent paper cups. The quality of the Jasmine Green Tea was the highlight for me. I really enjoyed the flavor, and it was very refreshing. I have gone back a few times after the Grand Opening, and I am happy to say that their quality has been consistent. Looks like I found my new go-to bubble tea place in the Dun Huang Plaza! All of these new tea places are getting hit pretty hard with low ratings since they opened. Its a buyers market since theres so much competition in the area (like literally next door to each other). Dont let that deter you from checking it out. I am not affiliated with this business at all, but I really think its a fun concept for Houston to have. I am proud to say we have a bubble tea strip in this city! Dont drink that Hatorade all you haters, drink dat boba tea!
TOP NOTCH ROLLED ICE CREAM, YO!
