This was a fun brunch spot. Our server Rachel was the best and so friendly. She was great at remembering orders and modifications which was impressive being that we were a party of 11 people. She even took our group pictures for us after we closed out our bill. Also she gave us great recommendations for other places to visit while we were in town. (If you’re reading this Rachel, the birthday girl was slump after our day party so we never made it back out haha)Cons:-We did have to pay a deposit to book our reservation and the money wasn’t applied to our bill so just wanted to note that but overall we had a great time-Someone in our party had to send their chicken tenders back because they weren’t cooked properly but our server understood and got it handled rather quickly-Two of my friends ordered the calamari and sent it back because it was “dry and hard”Pros:-I soooo appreciated her recommendation on the chicken nachos. We ate them so fast. And although I didn’t believe her when she said the pancakes were better than the French toast I wasn’t disappointed when I ordered them. They were light and fluffy, I just wish it came with more of that creme (and more bacon).-I shared the $25 mimosa bottle and mixer with someone in our party and overall felt it was a great value.
Came here with a girlfriend for her birthday. Wasn’t made aware of the Saturday brunch. The cocktail I had (Petal & pomegranate Cocktail), had a SPLASH of liquor - tasted like juice. And when I say splash, I’m being generous! Also tried a petal Plum lemon drop - tasted better but still very little alcohol. I was disappointed in the drinks. We ordered the spinach dip W/pita chips, it was tasty. She ordered a Texan burger and described it as, “a frozen burger that they heated up!” The brisket that was on the burger was good however.I ordered the Orleans Chicken, it was well seasoned and came with a Thai Brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes. It was good. A good amount of food.Would I come back- No! Wasn’t impressed! Oh the DJ was nice. I did enjoy the music... definitely wasn’t worth the price we paid.
This place had some good and bad things about it. The vibe and music were on point! The waitress we had was very nice and checked on us occasionally. The food was okay. It wasn’t the worst Mac and Cheese I’ve ever had but for $22 I expected good.. great! The portion was small, so you probably don’t want to order it as an entree unless you aren’t very hungry. My drink was decent. It tasted just like the name implied, like apples. Overall, it was an okay visit but I don’t think I’d be back in the future!
Y’all. Let me tell y’all how amazing this place was. So I made a reservation because it’s been so popular I didn’t want to get caught lacking. I went at 4 and there was nobody in there (which was perfect for me).I ordered the angry bird with a side of truffle fries. My friend ordered the same with sweet potato fries and calamari for the appetizer. The calamari was seasoned extremely well and came with a kind of avocado ranch and marinara. Her sweet potato fries came glazed with honey and honestly it was the PERFECT touch. I can tell you there was t a single bite left on our plates because it was that perfect.I got a French 75 to drink, but it was honestly too much gin for me to finish. I would’ve liked more champagne, but if you’re a gin person then that’s the drink for you!And out waitress always kept an eye out for us! She was so kind and attentive. I don’t remember her name, but service was great!I can tell parking during regular hours might be kind of crazy along with the seating available, but if you can get in, I’d say definitely try. I’ll be back for sure!
First thing you notice is the atmosphere. Very relaxed and fun simultaneously. I ordered the shrimp and grits, wife had the chicken and waffles plus fries. Overall the food was good albeit lightly seasoned. It arrived at the perfect temperature so that I could dive in immediately. The service was top notch and the drinks were great. They were not watered down but also not too heavy. Overall the experience was awesome and I plan on adding this place to the rotation!
For it to be located where it is I expected it to have great service. Waiters took long taking orders, fulfilling orders and some of the guests in my party did not receive their food at all. One good this is that there is a live DJ playing music while you enjoy drinks and food. Overall, the food was good, but the service could have been better.
I really really wanted to like this place and become a regular. The restaurant/cocktail bar was nice aesthetically. The pricing of the food and drinks were fairly high. My issue is with the wait staff, they could be more professional. If you are going to add gratuity to my check for bar service, then the service should be decent. The drinks took a while to make but that’s because the bartender was having side conversation. I liked the 90’s R &B vibe when we walked in and when the DJ started playing, I was ready to go. If Turkey Leg hut, which isn’t even a nice place can get it together then maybe this place has some potential too.
My first time here and I came to experience brunch. Let me start by saying Im giving three stars because of the ambience and vibe of the place. We were a large party and we didnt show up all at one time, however the waitress handled it well. We ordered mimosas and appetizers and they came out fine. On to the entrees, they staggered the entrees out so much so that half our party was half way done before the last of us got our entrees. The two people that had chicken and waffles were served uncooked chicken. 3 entrees sent back from one table. It took the manager about 20 minutes to come to the table to address the issue and his apology was ladened with excuses. His remedy was to take off the entrees that were inedible anyway and the 18% gratuity. It was the kitchen not the servers fault so taking off gratuity only hurts the server. The icing on the cake was that someone said the owners wife was there and she never came to our table to address the issues our party had. Im not sure Ill go back.
I really enjoyed my experience here. The restaurant has a chill atmosphere and cozy interior. My waitress was very kind and attentive. The boudin balls were delicious and so were our cocktails. I do get the sense that this restaurant is being revamped so they did seem a little short-staffed but I will definitely be back!
I Love this place! The food is amazing! The ambience is that of the movie Love Jones as the music has a Smooth R&B Light Hip-Hop-ish Vibe...Great 1st date spot.....Love it!
I love this place. The service was amazing and quick. The food was delicious and the staff was awesome. We had 5 different plates and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. The crawfish mac and cheese was great. The mimosa was very affordable and gave me a buzz after two glasses. The French toast with chicken strips were amazing. Others got the pancakes and chicken/waffles. All raves about each item.
First let me say it was a lovely atmosphere and the staff was wonderful! I also had the privilege of chatting with the owner who in my opinion is a fantastic human being! BEST SERVICE EVER!However, my review is based almost solely on the cost of the experience. I have been brunching weekly for the last 17 years (with the exception of a few weeks here and there) and I found the cost of the Olive + Twist experience to be a bit exorbitant for what the experience was. We’re not talking a Michelin rated restaurant here. It’s a cute neighborhood restaurant that I believe would do better with neighborhood prices, but I digress. My roommate and I went for Sunday brunch. We both had the Chicken and Waffles and 1 alcoholic beverage each. I was absolutely gagged when it came time to order our food and the chicken and waffles plate was $19. Now mind you the chicken and waffles is good. However, not $19 good. I feel that a brunch for two should not cost one in the neighborhood of $100 after tip. I think the pricing model is just a tad off. I really wanted this place to be a regular spot for us, because it’s so close to home. However, I’ll have to continue brunching at some of the more notable Houstonian haunts that are just as nice but do not require $19 chicken and waffles or $22 Mac and Cheese.
Today was my first time visiting today (10/10/21) around lunchtime, and I was excited to try the menu. Our waitress was super nice. However, I ordered the chicken and waffle dish. The waffles were room temperature - cold and the chicken thigh was too salty. My drink was blue sky martini and at first I liked it “UNTIL” I received an immediate headache which I hardly ever get. I think the vodka used was either cheap or something else...this drink suddenly became horrible. I probably took only a few sips out of it and thank goodness because I had enough of that drink...Not to mention while eating on the patio, that floor became a slippery mess!!! Walking across the floors is a accident waiting to happen unfortunately at the customers expense of a serious fall. Why cant this area be made more safe for customers to walk on!!!! The bathroom was awfully dirty. One of the sinks wasnt connected to the pipes 😳. There’s no sign warning customers... For some star reason, one of the employees decided to blast the music so loud that we as customers could no longer hear each other conversation. Needless to say my first experience was horrible and I wanted really badly to enjoy it.. Based upon my experience, I dont think i’ll be returning here again.
Wasting time driving to the restaurant and it is closed. Sunday 12:15 PM. Shows open hours on Sunday on google. I also saw that they were other reviews with the same complaint. Not sure what the deal is but they could probably update their hours with Google to prevent these bad experiences.
Went here earlier today and started off great service waitress friendly. But once the restaurant got busy the service took turned for the worst. No water refills, food not coming out together, waitresses not checking on table and no silverware. Waitress brought out plastic silverware when asked if we could get some. Not just our table it was everyone around us. With the prices we paid we should have top notch service. Very unfortunate for the waitress because after receiving the check there is a 20 percent gratuity on all checks no matter side of the party, that’s horrible and you charge $5 for valet which is steps away from front door. I’m sure the waitress need the money more than the restaurant. Hope you guys share. Not a very good experience. Management should work on teaching staff or get experienced wait staff. This will run you business in the ground.
4/5 - not a great as we thought. Price for the quantity and quality of food offered. One time place to check out if you like but wouldn’t be going again as value for money isn’t there. Service is great!Nachos were a let down just didn’t look appetizing once they came, could do a better job here. Taste was ok - nothing special.Brussel Sprouts were amazing and would highly recommend. Same with the Mac n cheese.Skip the pizzas if you want, again nothing special for a $12 for a personal pan pizza on a pita bread. They also have a good variety of cocktails and beers. Wine selection is ok as only a small selection available.
This was my second time visiting this establishment. The first time I visited was during happy hour. Not sure if our experience was typical but there was only one waitress on duty and she was swamped. Management issue. We were understanding and accommodating and tipped her well regardless. I along with my mother and 2 other friends, decided to try their brunch. We have come to the realization that their service is generally horrible. We never received our appetizer. My friends food was very late, and when I got our waitress’s attention to let her know, she acknowledged me and walked off. We did notice that she had too many tables. Not her fault. Management issue. The manager brought my friends food and just set it on the table. Lorenzo, the manager did not ask if we needed anything or apologize for her food being so late. They also charged my friend $10 for a side of grits. And no refills on soft drinks. My friends and I eat out often and we tip well for good service. 15% is my baseline for mediocre service. I waited tables in college and truly appreciate good service. This is the first negative review I have ever written. My granny told me that if I don’t have anything nice to say, well you know the rest. I hope the owners see this and send their manager to Chick-fil-a training. The food can be good but if the service is bad people will not come back.
A small gem of a bar and restaurant right on Richmond and easy to miss if you arent looking out for it. The cocktails and drink selections were perfect and the appetizer menu was just right. The service was good and the during happy hour on a Wednesday there was ample parking available. The crowd was just right and it felt comfortable. A great place to stop in for a quick drink or socialize in small groups.
Today was my first time at the establishment, with friends and the service could of been better. If I could rate one star O would. Everything on the menu for brunch was not available, food and drinks. The appetizer was to small for the price and there were not substitutes in place of the items. The staff stated that there were no other items available in place of the out of stock items. Also the establishment opened at 11:00 am and they stated there were out of the items at 11:45 pm. Also the staff could of been dressed more professionally for the atmosphere.
This restaurant is a must for anyone who likes good food, a super friendly staff and an enjoyable atmosphere. Perfect for a girls night (or boys) out, or date night. The music....OMG! My only suggestion would be to add more Vegan offerings. 👍🏾
Honestly, I didn’t expected a lot from this restraint since we’ve been so many places. Olive + Twist was amazing!! The food, the ambience, the music was awesome. They honestly set the bar. Even the customer service from beginning to end was unmatched.
Went here for a celebration on a saturday night and everything was great. The drinks were good, the food was delicious and the place itself was aesthetically pleasing. Definitely more of a bar setting so the service wasn’t outstanding but it was still decent. Would definitely recommend for a small get together or a nice night out drinking with friends.
There was so much wrong, but luckily I have time to review. From the moment I entered the facility we had not greeted by anyone. Me and my friends Sat at the table for 45 min before anyone approached us to ask if we had been helpped. At this point I was still trying to figure out this place because it was my first time there. It was a tall young lady,*assuming she was a hostess **who approached us and she started taking our order and then in the midst of doing that walked off when the amazing Brittney walked up. First problem here was the lack of acknowledgement of the transition. I proceeded to order a Moscow mule which I found out that they were out of gin.( Its saint Patricks day, it should be a crime to have an unstocked bar) I attempted to order 2 more drinks which were unavailable as well, so I settled for the strawberry mojitio. Pressing forward we waited for an hour and a half for drinks and food and during this time the original girl possibly hostess is laughing and partaking in her own drinks while I noticed Brittney was the only waitress tending to an entire restaurant ( again on saint Patrick day.) At this point my group was extremely frustrated and requested a manager. When he approached he did not seem sympathetic or even offer solutions to the problem at hand..for instance going to the liquor store (across the street) checking on drinks or food. He got an attitude and did nothing. Now Im furious but I have to be here, to make sure I get the entire experience. Finally we got the drinks and it WAS HORRIBLE, I request to send it back and that was a task. I had to actively find someone. Finally I was able to get my drink exchanged for a simple patron margaritas 🍹 and it was terrible too and they definitely did not use patron, but some cheap liquor it hopes that I wouldnt taste the difference..WRONG!! I notice so many wrong thing from administration to management to service and delivery. Oh and my nachos that I was served on stale chips. At this point Im over it and when I got up to pay I looked in the kitchen and lets just say what I saw sealed the deal. Brittney was as great as she could be under the circumstances. I say all this to say I was there to experience this venue opportunity for a client of mine and we will not consider this establishment for a potential venue or make recommendations for anyone to visit here. I hope the owner is able to turn around this hospitality and take this as constructive criticism and build on this. Feel free to reach out to me about what I saw in the kitchen as well. This place has to much potential to be managed like this.
Nice litte vibe. I love the biscuit and crab and the long Island twist!!
Amazing brunch experience. Great food and great vibes!!I went with my homegirl and we both ordered the shrimp & grits and split the crawfish Mac & cheese!! Both were a absolute blessing to our taste buds!! The shrimp & grits specifically is delicious. The best shrimp & grits from these Houston restaurants. Chris (one of the co-owners) and his staff gave A+ service. Definitely a spot I will done at over and over again. Next time I go I’m going to try there French toast.
Nice ambience. Saw it featured on Ready to Love TV show and thought I would try. A little slow on service but nice place to go if you like patio dining. Make sure you insist they chk on you if sitting on patio
Nice atmosphere cool and laid back. The servers were friendly, and the DJ was really good. I was not impressed with the food but my meal was okay 7/10. The drinks were a no no! All 6 of us did not like any of the drinks from the bar. That is something they need to work on.
Great food and service…the only thing I didn’t like was the mandatory valet service. I can’t understand why some of the non big name restaurants are necessitating valet service nowadays. The money adds up real fast when going out to eat in these situations.
Hey y’all, if you haven’t been to the (Olive Twist) then you’re missing out on the best time of your life for brunch or lunch or dinner! It’s the place to be seen! Up and coming singers and rappers and jazz artist flock here. And the service and food is top notch! If you don’t know now you know! Get there!
Very nice atmosphere. All of food was delicious. Wait time very reasonable. Owner came by and engaged with us. We were visiting Houston and I’ll definitely come back and visit!!
Super fun Happy Hour! Olive and Twist took over Queen Vic, and while QV was a unique bar with a cult following, Olive and Twist has nicely renovated the interior brining new life to the restaurant bar. Happy Hour is a super good time, and while the drinks are good, the food proves to better than most bar good happy hours. Give it a try!
The brunch menu is VERY LIMITED. They only serve brunch until 4pm and then didnt even have the ingredients for the cocktail I wanted. The prices are much higher than what would be reasonable (one appetizer of crab cakes which to be fair were meaty but definitely too small to be worth $25, and pancakes ran me $60 and it was all just OK) service was terrible and they have a mandatory 20% tip regardless of table size (but I think it was just my waitress because the waitress with the body piercings was very attentive to her tables and even filled our water glasses)All in all Im going to try dinner because I do my best to support BOBs and hopefully that experience will earn this place a better rating and more return visits.
Food was cool, ordered mimosas when we first sat down. 1hr later still no mimosas! Ate and left, only 2 servers for a packed restaurant.
The service was pretty good and it was a chill atmosphere. The food was just ok. My complaint was my bill. My waitress included a 20% gratuity for a party of 2--- I thought that only happened with a party of 6 or more? Also, she charged me for the wrong bill 😫Also, the Mac n Cheese needs help....they charge $22 for this appetizer and it is not very good. They need to drop the price on this or make it larger (it is pretty small).
Amazing food! I had the lemon pancakes and also mimosas. Even when they were short staff they came through and we had a great time !
I’m not to sure if I can say 3, but you be the judge.Pro- food was good, cheap valet parking. Ordered the crawfish Mac and cheese.Con-the Mac and cheese was $22.00 and wasn’t bigger Thanh size of a personal pan pizza (not deep dish). At max should have been charged 15.00Con-way overpriced for amount of food you’re given.Con-my drink was heavily diluted with water; if they are trying to stretch alcohol by mixing with water (if that is happening), make it less obvious.Con-the music was way too loud. I understand the concept but it was way too loud.Con-the waiter didn’t do much waiting; we flagged down another that took care of us; it wasn’t busy.Con-an automatic 20% gratuity included- this wasn’t earned by the waiter we had.Based on the overpricing and watered down drinks, I won’t be returning.
The vibe was definitely there. The DJ there Saturday afternoon played some throw backs from my college days, putting me in a real trip down memory lane. The bartender made sure my friend and I were good. But the food was just ok. I ordered the chicken and waffles. Had potential to taste great but it was all over cooked. The waffles were toasted toasted on one side and the chicken was tough. 4 stars for the bartender looking out for my friend and I and the DJ. Oh and the vibe.
Their name is very accurate for the atmosphere… full of twists. First time here supporting a black business and wanted steak. Arriving it took a while for waters and a waiter to come. After that waiting for appetizers mine came out first and my friends came out when I was just about done with mine. Calamari and the spinach dip. That was great. Had to ask the waiter for alot and remind her everything we asked and the spot was empty. I mean napkins, silverware whole 9. Had to wait a while for the food and once again meals arrived at separate time. Steak and Salmon meal (had to ask for a knife with my steak meal) But I cannot lie, that was the best steak I have ever had. The wine sauce was to die for. The kitchen saves the service EVERYtime here because the service is not too great. Love supporting my people but we have to work on good and consistent customer service to keep the business open. people can go anywhere for food! we want food and service. As high as the prices are and the INCLUDED gratuity, I expect some better service !!
Odd hours. Good food. Great owner. Chi-town stand up.
The food was okay. Our server was very courteous, but slow service. It took about 30 minutes or so to get the drink I ordered. Table was dirty upon arrival. They force valet service on you, although all the neighboring businesses are closed on a Sunday. The whole experience just felt disjointed. Not sure if the BOH was understaffed or what,it was underwhelming at best.
Good music, GREAT food.Im a cocktail drinker so the drinks werent really my taste seeing that I dont like to taste my alcohol. I would definitely go back for the food though.
Our server was super sweet and gave great recommendations. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was nice....I was more than pleased for my first time there and will definitely be back!
Great vibe! Food was tasty, music was good, and the strawberry mojito was nice and sweet. I got the salmon which was an acquired taste that I personally really enjoyed.
Went during Houston Restaurant Week. I enjoyed everything I had. Only negative is the limited parking available.
Love the vibe. Good music and good food.
Dope black owned business. Love the vibes, ambiance, drinks, and customer service. I searched black owned spots on a whim and found it. So glad my cousins and I had a great time ❤
Myself and a friend wanted to check them out, so we made reservations online as we were going during times of COVID. Our reservation for 12:30 on a Wednesday. We walked in and were literally the only ones there, which was fine for us. I wont go into too much detail about the service, but it definitely could of been better as we werent tended to as often and we ran out of water a few times. My friend had the chicken sandwich with the parmesan fries. Her entree was mediocre. But my canned nachos were great! The cheese sauce (or queso) was so good and the nachos themselves were actually some of the best ones I had. The nachos are an appetizer, but I definitely ate them as my entree as they were huge. All in all, I feel that the servers could have more training
Service ✔ Food ✔ Ambiance ✔ Check this place out you wont be disappointed. Also, the pasta is bomb!!
Went for brunch and the experience, food, and drinks were horrible. We waited over 30 mins for drinks were watered down and there is a limited selection. Almost two hours for food and the food was not fresh nor was it good. Waitress really tried to make it right by coming to our table to reassure us she was trying and it wasn’t her fault. Owner needs to revamp and actually be present so that she can see what is happening in her restaurant. We really tried to give this place a try but we were totally disappointed.
Valet park was convenient. Vibe was great. Music sealed the deal!! Food was good and reasonably priced for location. Ill return for sure.
Rachel was excellent!!! She served our group from Atlanta in style
Worst service. Nachos had 5 overcooked shrimp and it didnt have all the toppings on it that the menu stated. When we 1st arrived our waitress had to be told twice to come service us. We bought a carafe of mimosa and they gave us little plastic cups to drink out of. We looked around and others had flutes. Imagine our confusion considering the amount we spent on food. I never have to go back.
Staff was very friendly, and food was okay but very overpriced for complexity of dishes. Close to $8 for unseasoned side of 4 spears of asparagus 😔 We were sat outside and also had to wait on service for quite a while despite it being very slow that night.
The food and vibe are awesome. Our waitress Rachel was EVERYTHING!!!!
Omg! Im so happy I saw this place on IG and decided to go when I visited Houston this past weekend. Our waitress Kayla was awesome! She was cool and down to earth. I had the Chappel Hill pasta meal and it was delicious. The frozen hurricane was so good and they werent stingy on the alcohol either. The DJ was 🔥 playing all the good old school music. I will definitely be back when Im visiting Houston again. The atmosphere and the people were so welcoming. If you havent been there then you need to check it out ASAP!!!
First time visiting but I was impressed by the quality of food.
Its was fun, was thers for a Birthday celebration! Food was decent, DJ was great.
Just ate here for my first time ever. The twisted burger is one of the best burgers I’ve ever had. My wife loved the mussels. Highly recommend.
Friday and Saturday nights are the best. Great food, great drinks, good looking people, great music and amazing vibes. I highly recommend. If you go on Friday night say what up to DJ Will O. One of the best DJs in Htown
Went yesterday to celebrate my friend’s birthday and the staff definitely made it a special day that will be remembered by us both. The food was amazing and the service we received was extremely attentive and friendly, even after shift change. We ordered the Twisted Texan Burger, Flex Mussels and Chili Garlic Brussels Sprouts along with several drinks. I had to pull my friend away at the end of our stay or she would have continued ordering more items! We will definitely be back.
My friend and I came here for brunch on a Saturday at 12:30P.M. The restaurant was kind of busy, and we sat on the patio. The service was slow at the beginning of our brunch because our waitress was responsible for all the tables inside and outside of the restaurant. I felt bad for her, and they should have had more people to support her during this time. We ordered the calamari, chicken and waffles, and crawfish benedict. The food was ok, but it was not the best I have ever had. However, my friends benedict dish was good. It was a below average experience, and I will not return.
Im leaving a 5 because of the ambiance and super friendly staff. Unfortunately I was very disappointed with my visit. We were looking for a place with yummy food to celebrate a major accomplishment and I loved the sound of the menu they have on their website so we made a reservation. When we arrived, they were only doing their happy hour menu which consisted of 4 starters and their pizzas. That isnt what we were in the mood for. I did have a pre-dinner drink while we looked for a new place to have dinner and it was a really lovely old fashioned. So the next time we want a good happy hour pizza or calamari well be back to try their food too!Be warned they do not have high chairs even though Google Maps says they do.
My girlfriend and I ordered burgers and fries at what I feel was a high price. My burger had neither mustard, mayo or any sauce. Whats more, my burger was supposed to have a beef party with pork. The pork was chunks of pure fat, NO pork meat. The ambiance was not, in my opinion, comparable to the price. Chairs were cheap type, tables had common Formica tops, walls and ceiling were just o.k.Apparently because parking space is limited, valet parking for $5.00 is only available.I didnt feel comfortable in the place and do not plan on returning.
Keep DJ Kelz on deck I had a blast the customers and the staff were good I enjoyed it
Cute place, went with a girlfriend for cocktails. They have a nice bar plus pub and regular tables. Mostly all tables were reserved or required being seated by host. Patio area is rather small. Hookah was only allowed outside, in which it was 47° with only one heater working... so hookah was a no. Ordered a Peach Pomegranate Martini that was deliciously pleasing with the perfect amount of alcohol that makes you say okayyy & toss your hair when the waitress comes back to check on you. Needless to say, we had another round. Margherita pizza was fresh & a perfect size to soak up my libations and still keep it cute. Definitely recommend for a happy hour, couples, or ladies night. Ohhh... And they have brunch!!
The food was delicious! The waiter/bartender Susan (or Maybe Sarah 🤦🏾♀️) was amazing! I asked for non alcoholic drinks and she gave me great recommendations! The pricing is great!I love the overall vibe and music!
Bentley was the best server! He was so nice and made our first experience one to remember. Not only did he have FIRE style but his service was on point. Thanks Bentley!
Excellent service. Great precautionary measures are in place in regards to Covid. The food is superb! Worth a visit for sure. Ive been twice and havent had a single thing to complain about.
The outside seating is very nice. I really enjoyed the music.
Straight to the chase:1. SERVICE-*Shab the owner- is very inviting he makes a mean pickle tini! *Shawn the bartender- is friendly.*Waitresses- eh... they can definitely do better.2. FOOD-* I had the burger and it was very flavorful! The bread was light and airy so you dont feel like your really cheating on cheat day.*The brussel sprouts were OMG SOOOOOOOOOOOOO GOOD. I love brussel sprouts and I am very picky and these were perfect!*The calamari- ehh not so much and I am a calamari lover. All in all Ill be back but Ill sit at the bar for better service experience.
I had a party on the patio and it was great for my birthday. The staff was friendly and consistent. The food and drinks were excellent. I would recommend this place if you want to have a party or just chill!!
Lovely intimate atmosphere that has great food and a wonderful presentation. I would recommend this place
Enjoyed the atmosphere and music for a quaint start to a Friday night away from large crowds
Food and service was disappointing. Nice atmosphere and good music.
Yummy goodness in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Boudain balls were the best.
Great ambiance, great food!
Working hours showing open when you go closed.
Olive and Twist WAS arguably one of the best places for brunch in the Houston area. I’ve ordered twice since the new kitchen manager’s taken over and I have no better word than TRASH. The recipes have since been “tweaked”. The seasoning has been significantly less. Everything has been super, super bland. Disappointed is an understatement. The owner, ambiance, and workers are nice, though if that counts for anything.
Last time I went, the bartender over charged my card $36 and it posted to my bank account. Thats been over a week and a half ago. Spoke with management and still no resolution. Its sad because I frequent this establishment. #NeverAgain
Awesome experience. The food and drinks were good. Customer service and waitbstaff were very nice. Manager was very down to earth as well and gave great recommendations. Will return
The owner was the best. I think she needs a whole new team from the kitchen down total the waiters. We arrived at 11:47 for brunch and we didnt received out food until 1:37 and it was only 3 of us. One of my friends only order avocado toast.. idk why it took that long to make toast. The wait was ridiculously long. Our waitress showed little to no interest in us. It was until the owner arrived and made sure our food came out. She gave us complimentary drink and a discount for the wait. Our appetizers came out after our food. The food was good but the owner needs a while NEW staff... people with more experience.
How can I give a zero star rating??!! First, the service was horrible and slow. The food came out looking nothing as advertised- didnt even come with the listed ingredients. Then the incompetent general manager had the nerve to go discussing us in the kitchen when we received the WRONG order. This was after an extended wait because the initial plate of food was sent to the wrong table. The kitchen supervisor had to be the one to come from behind the grill to rectify the situation professionally. Not sure why anyone who wants their business to thrive would keep a general manager like that in charge of anything. This was my first and last time at this place.
The staff’s didn’t wear masks or take any sanitary measures. People were not spaced out even though there was plenty of space. They didn’t bring us menu, water, utensils, or anything unless we asked. They took forever with the menu and food. The only thing that was quick was the check.
It is not popular for the food because it was subpar. Its more for drinks and socializing.
The place had a nice vibe! My food was so good I didn’t have time to take any pictures!
Honestly a beautiful and honest atmosphere. Had the best drinks from Chris the owner and amazing food! I will be back many many times! I honestly really loved this place and it’s elegant touch!
Yesterday 9 of us went for a late brunch and was highly disappointed with the food. Specifically the shrimp and grits dish. The grits were not hot... Lukewarm at best. The pancake dish was good after sending it back because the 1st order was burned. The chicken and waffles were not bad. The mussels dish was excellent, the NOLA Crawfish Benedict dish was excellent... especially when it was hot. The broth from the mussels taste good on the grits. They should pair that flavor together. The manager was willing to give us a discount for the 1st responder/military as multiple of us were one or both.... but we had to fuss about comping the shrimp and grits. We asked to charge us for the shrimp only as we didnt eat the grits. Finally they comped us for the shrimp and grits meals. The drinks were ok. I would give them a 2nd chance because they attempted to make it right and the chef even came out to apologize, but they would definitely have to make sure the food is hot. I would not order the shrimp and grits dish as this was subpar.
