Just really honest, great mechanics. Ive been working with them for six years, and they do a fantastic job, and they dont charge an arm and a leg. They try to find the most cost-effective way to do a job, while keeping the vehicle running smoothly and for a long time! Wonderful people.

The hard cover for my truck bed was stuck on the track from one end. It was giving me problems for weeks until the guys in shop took a look at it and fixed it for free. They are super awesome. I was referred to Taber Street Auto by a friend as I have a large van and most places don’t have a big enough lift. Twice I thought I had major problems and both times the guys at Taber Street proved me wrong - fixing the true cause and saving me tons if money. The are incredibly honest and straight forward. I am so happy I found them / my van has never run better and I’ve never been happier. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Got a service appointment quickly. Vehicle was done as promised, and the cost was very reasonable. They also checked all the fluid levels, and tire pressures. That is the Good Olde Fashion way of how Auto Services did things.

Cars rear struts had broken and Munro Muffler on Rt 13 had quoted me $966, which included re-alignment costs. Instead, I took the car to Tabers and the price came to $690 for the same job. Tabers said that re-alignment wasnt even possible/necessary based on the type of axle the car had, so I dont know what Munro had been thinking. Tabers was friendly, polite, respectful, and theres a 1-year warranty on everything. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this little family place over any of the larger chains. Thank you for such a great job fixing the problem!

I have been having cars repaired for 38 years. Dealer and independent. I have never found a better company to work on my vehicles. Steve, the owner has integrity in an industry not known for it. He will always make it right. Jim on the front desk has the best customer service available today. They even reconditioned my boat trailer to like new condition. Prices, in my experience, are usually about half of any dealer prices. Yes, they are busy but, really worth the wait if there is any. They are busy because they treat you right. Just go and get your vehicle fixed right.

I do a lot of the work on my own vehicles. I couldn’t get to a front end issue on my wife’s car because I’m out of town. These guys looked it over and said they couldn’t find any issues. Charged me for the oil change. In a word of constant upselling it’s nice to know there’s still a shop with old world values like fairness and straight talk. Thanks Taber Street Auto.

Requested my car stay inside and locked at all times. Found it outside, unlocked. Someone went through, at their leisure, rifled through everything, took jackknives, hammock... but left the checkbook. Over $500 of missing items. Asked owner Steve to review his video but he said he didnt want to spend the money to have it reviewed, was too busy, just wasnt interested. Very disappointed.

Since I learned about the family owned Taber Street Auto about 5 years ago from a co-worker who knows them for close to 20 years, I had nothing but a an excellent experience with them. I brought 4 different cars to them, of different ages (from 2 year old to 18 year old), there was nothing they couldnt figure out correctly the first time. Like an experienced doctor, they will make a quick diagnosis of a problem, and will fix the actual issue, no more, no less. They are honest, and charge very reasonably. They found electrical issues so quickly, or fixed mechanical problem with latches, and charged me a fraction of cost I would pay if dealer was set to diagnose the problem.A point in case: one time, we bought an old SUV for $500 ($2500 value) because the seller told was the transmission was leaking, and there was nothing else the Jeep dealer (Maguire) could do to the the car short of replacing the transmission. These guys found an issue and fixed it for $40 :)Whatever the issue, I am not afraid to ask them to fix little stuff either, because I know it wont cost me a fortune. I have referred all my friends to this place. What a relief is to have a mechanic shop like this one. You know how they say - you need to know a good doctor, a good lawyer, and a good mechanic. I know a good doctor, and I have a good mechanic :)

I recently used this business to make repairs to a 20-year old vehicle to help it pass annual NY State inspection requirements. I was wary that the fixes could be made, let alone at a reasonable price, but Taber Street Auto exceeded expectations at every turn. After inspecting it, they performed the services well ahead of schedule and 50% UNDER the estimated cost! Yes, you read that correctly! When I picked up the car, the service man (Steve) even graciously refused a tip I wanted to provide for the excellent service. They really made my day! Though this business is tucked behind a little side street, its well worth finding and using.

I went in for a very expensive repair ($1300). There were two things wrong:1- Air pump needed replacement2-Check engine light was onThey told me that they replaced my air pump with a new one, which they said cost about $500. To fix the engine light, they said it needed a new secondary air injector, which they did for another $500. Then the engine light came back on after a week.I took it back, they make it work again. After a week it came back on again. I took it back, and this time they said the problem was with the chip which constantly showed the light and that there was no way they could fix it, and that there were no problems with the engine. So, I believed them and didnt ask for money back.So a year later, I took to another mechanic, who told me that the air pump was broken, and that theres no way that was a new air pump because it had rust on it. And he fixed the engine light too.A buncha crooks if you ask me, taking advantage of the fact that I know very little about cars.

I went to faber street today seeking help for installing a headlight which takes no more than 5 minutes. WhenI entered the building the mechanic was in front having conversation with someone. I asked if he had a moment to help me. He told me he was to busy, yet was holding a conversation nothing to do with his work at hand. Terrible costumer service.

I took my car in there on a recommendation from my normal mechanic, because they were booked up. My car had been overheating when I drove it for more than a few miles. He fixed my thermostat housing, replaced some gauge or something, and replaced a started that he said stopped working. All together it was $900, I got it home and the next day it is overheating again and worse this time. I call Jim and he says oh I thought the head gasket might be bad he then proceeds to say that he couldve gotten a cheap kit that wouldve confirmed this for me, but Oh I wouldnt have socked over almost 1000 would I have? I was taken for a ride and will never ever do business with them again,and will make sure that everyone I know including the original mechanic that recommended them to me knows this. I am a poor college student and this was a third of my student loans that I live off of. I now have to sell it for only $400 when it couldve been worth more.Run away fast,
