Overpriced food in a run down location. We went there and we were about to walk away but based on reviews decided to give it a chance.The furniture and floors are worn down…and not very clean.The foos was very overpriced for the value, taste and location. Side order $5 one chicken sausage…$13 for a small omelet with a few pieces of toast.Service….the waitress forgot to bring us one of the drinks and food took over 30 min.I wouldn’t recommend this place or go back there.

Breakfast burrito was amazing! Good service. So, 5 stars. The location is kinda unexciting. Its in a little make shift mall area. So, great food. Not spectacular ambiance.

Had a delicious brunch with friends on a Sunday morning. Staff was fantastic and attentive. Food was excellent and fast. We had a group six and everything was spot on! I ordered the pecan waffle special. This waffle was wonderful...made with browned butter, topped with chantilly cream, toasted pecans, and drizzled with maple syrup! Yummy! Featured in the photos are items that our table ordered: Waffle Special, Eggs Benedict, and the Omelet Special. Will definitely return! What a gem. FYI - cash or check only.

I live right nearby and love their service and locally-sourced food. Food is good, selection nothing too amazing, but just really solid. Free coffee refills are a plus! Its no wonder theres always a huge line during weekends. Staff are friendly, though service is not very fast. Plan for a little extra time to finish up a meal here.

I have loved Cafe de Witt for so many years! The food is fantastic--fresh and delicious. They make one of the best burgers ever. And the service is first rate. Brunch is always a delight!

Safe during Covid times AND the food is delicious, we ate the Zoe salad, omelette and brioche and all were exquisite.If you’re in the area I definitely recommend taking a takeout or dining in safely.Design isn’t very inviting but the food and service are! :)

This place doesnt have it together yet. One menu around a corner so you have to memorize what you want, omelette fillings too large to get in one cut, extremely limited drink selection for a cafe. It could be a lot better with better organization

This place is AMAZING! Aside from the fact that you most probably have to wait for a long time during weekends, its perfect. The atmosphere is pleasant; crowdy yet cozy. The staffs are very friendly and polite. And of course, the food--- Its so tasty! As expected of a local restaurant working hard to use local products as much as they can. The cranberry sauce I had that day was the most delicious one I have ever had, really! Also, the price is reasonable. I spent 21 USD for the omelette, hot chocolate, and tip. It was absolutely worth it. Money well-spent. This is a kind of restaurant that is capable of warming your heart and makes you want to revisit until you become a regular customer.

I worked here as a waitress for a year, and I cannot recommend it enough, both as an employee AND as a customer. The food is great, the people are great, the atmosphere? Shocker: also great. I am an Ithaca native, and I can promise you that you will not find better breakfast, for a better price, literally anywhere else in town. If you want to get a delicious meal and give your money to deeply good people, this is the spot. Trust me.

Amazing food and good quantity! Loved the Brioche French Toast there, do try it. The only caveat is that it is a cash only place so do carry cash with you before you go there although there is an ATM in the building!

I was here with my girlfriend on breakfast, when we were traveling through Ithaca, and we had a great time in this restaurant. The breakfast was delicious, served quickly and the price was reasonable. Their staff is professional, polite and the menu has a great selection of different and interesting meals. Our go-to breakfast spot in Ithaca. If you like french toast, get it here and prepare to have your mind blown. Friendly staff in a cute area full of Ithaca characters. Ive never had lunch here, but if it is half as good as the breakfast you should be fine.

Wonderful gluten free options. This place is a little hidden away in Dewitt Mall. The surroundings are clean, but basic. As soon as you put a bit of chutney in your mouth, every else fades away and you forget where you even are. The taste explosions are quite unique. I had the Farmers breakfast with chicken sausage, eggs over medium and chutney instead of toast. Everything was cooked perfectly, hot, and fresh. The service was amazing, and they were patient with all my questions. I definitely recommend you try this spot if you get a chance! My husband had the pancakes with bananas, potatoes, and sausage, and loved it as well. Important, this is a cash or check only place!!

Perfect breakfast! Locally sourced, fresh and quick. We both had specials. I had avocado toast with fried eggs ( instead of scrambled) and ordered a side of basil hazelnut pesto. DH had a breakfast sandwich with roasted potatoes that he raved about. A home run for us. Service was good and the blackboard was easily readable. (An earlier reviewer commented on illegible writing).

The food was good, but the prices were ridiculous. I ordered 2 eggs, 1 sausage link, and toast. The total was $11.50: $4.50 for the eggs (what? I can buy a carton of eggs for that much), $4.50 for a SINGLE sausage link, $2.50 for a baguette slice that’s cut in half. That is absurd. Someone explain. Not correct. Goodbye.

The Apple Sausage and Potato Hash was fantastic!! Cant wait to return for more. Great food with good service. Dont expect the huge plates heaping with food you find at diners, but if you want excellent food with local ingredients this is the place to go. Superb spot for a light brunch.

We must have arrived at the right time. No wait, fast service and the waiter was very efficient and courteous. The food was wonderful. Yummy, unique, very fresh and presented well. The only knock (and not that big of a deal considering the area) was the price of our breakfast was a bit over the top (about $15/per person).

While the atmosphere is, well, there IS no atmosphere as mall guests walk between the tables in the seating area, the food is good and the staff is awesome!

We came here for brunch on a Saturday. Free street parking right outside. There was about a 4 minute wait to get seated and about 30 to get our food. Highly recommend the omelette carol and the fresh squeezed orange juicy. Cozy little spot that serves organic and locally grown foods. Delicious!

I eat here about once a week. I love the wait staff, and have never had a meal I dislike. They have big fish tanks all around one side of the cafe which somehow makes up for the fact that there are no windows. I never feel closed in, and since the mall hallway runs through it, it is a great place to see and be seen.

Great breakfast and lunch spot with a special brunch menu on the weekends. It gets very busy on the weekends so expect a wait, but its worth it. Awesome staff, interesting location in a historic building. Try the morning glory sandwich, which you can get with avocado instead of bacon

The food here is great. The morning glory sandwich is my absolute favorite breakfast sandwich anywhere. But the last 2 times Ive gone the service has been poor. While not very busy either time we ended up waiting nearly an hour for our food the first time and OVER an hour the second time. We also had to rush to eat our breakfasts once they were finally served because we were going to miss our next engagement. Doesnt matter how good the food is if the service is that bad it makes for a negative dining experience.

OMG!! Lived in this area over 30yrs and never ate here! Took an out of town friend to discover this hidden jem. FYI go on Tuesday for the burger of all burgers!! Sure NYC and Portland D.C. etc have great food but dont forget the folks around the corner creating amazing food.. (Farm to table. Yay!!) Youll be blown away by this big little eatery in an old downtown school house

I was a bit disappointed with my meal here. I used to frequent Café DeWitt because it was consistently good. This last time I ate here Iordered a special sandwich on the blackboard. I thought the sandwich was flavorless. My friend felt the same way and they had a standard menu item which leads me to believe we either came on an off day or the quality or preparation has declined. The service was consistent and great! I hope to have a better experience here next time, but this is no longer at the top of my list for places to eat for lunch.

Great food, long wait. Each time Ive been here, there is a 30-45 minute wait, and ordering takes another 45 minutes until food arrives on your plate. When it does come, however, its really great. I like to come here when Im with a friend that I want to spend time with, but never when Im in a hurry. The local ingredients are awesome, but their eggs Benedict killllls me, though, because the sauce doesnt taste like a real hollandaise sauce and its served on regular bread, vs. an English muffin.

Deliciousness, Ive had several brunches here and the food was fanominal. The atmosphere is busy but cosy. It is truly unique, how having the distractions of passerbys, brings, your focus more on your food and the people with whom you are sharing it with.
