Great little spot. 10/10 would stop again

Stopped here on our way to Ann Arbor from Illinois for a quick lunch. We didn’t have a lot of options as we avoid most meat & they were out of provolone cheese so it was swapped with feta but we still enjoyed the veggie options we got (veggie wrap + veggie croissant). I also liked their latte! The coffee is good quality. Manager/owner was friendly and welcoming. Would stop by again, thank you.

I had lunch here today and, as always, was not disappointed. I no longer live in Kalamazoo, but every time I come home I always come back for the club croissant sandwich. The drinks here are always tasty and the workers are incredibly friendly. This is hands down my favorite spot on the mall!

I love this spot!! I make multiple visits every time Im in Kalamazoo. The owner/operator is fabulous.... (And living my dream! 😉) The coffee is good, the baked goodies are delish and you have to try a drink made with the homemade lavender syrup - yum!! Definitely recommend this charming place. 😍

First visit during the pandemic so takeout only for now, but our lunches became an instant favorite! I had the veggie croissant sandwich while my boyfriend had the turkey croissant, and we immediately vowed to make Caffe Casa a weekly event. We also each got the first slices from a beautiful cake- the frosting tasted a bit too buttery but otherwise delicious. Cant wait to return for another meal, and also to be on the other side of quarantine so that we can enjoy the comfort of eating inside this cute space for an afternoon.

The owner or whoever the older lady who works there is really off putting. Seems like she needs a reality check. Coffee wasn’t great, but the young staff who work there are so sweet and cute! Old lady smelled like a dim stale fire. Vibes were off- better places to hang out and get coffee and treats.

Wonderful coffee, friendly staff, great atmosphere. You must try the lavender syrup, it is their homemade syrup and adds a light sweetness and aroma to your latte!

Tired Mom. Needed coffee desperately. She asked if 3 shots of espresso was enough or if it was a 4-shot morning. I would come back for that alone! But the coffee and cheese pastry also tasted awesome!

The reviews arent worth reading on the food. Look.... nice people, good drinks, but sandwiches arent worth $10... not even close.

Kathy thoughtfully creates the most delicious soups, sandwiches, beverages, and pastries single handedly!! She puts her love and passion into each item she makes, never scrimping on quality ingredients! I just enjoyed a lavender green tea latte, made with her homegrown lavender syrup! Paired with coconut milk, it was pure therapy! The big as your head fluffy club croissant sandwich could have fed two, but I ate the whole thing! Fresh lettuce, tomato, cheese, Turkey and smoky bacon, with special mayo! Please check her place out when you’re downtown!

One of the best decorate coffee shops in Kalamazoo. Its like walking into a Victorian era greenhouse. The coffee here is also great and I greatly enjoy the baked goods sold here.

A friendly, cute and delicious spot! I had a caramel creme latte and veggie croissant- both of which I highly recommend (and Im not normally a veggie sandwich type of person)! Our barista was super friendly and made us feel like we were the only ones there, offering both explanations and recommendations. I cant wait to go back and try some of the pastries!

I love coming here, they have great workers and are friendly. I was just there today (my name is Austin) and got a Americano with two muffins. They were delicious. Im a come here for my coffee for now on.

Great Crossaints and Great Service

I like supporting small, locally-owned businesses and this hits the spot for when you walk to the Kalamazoo mall and want a pit stop. It is conveniently located at the beginning of the street. However, more sitting and enticing ambience would be more attractive.

A hidden gem in downtown Kalamazoo! Their turkey croissant is delicious! I love that they grow their own greens that they use on the sandwiches (best ever!). They are friendly and all of their baked goods are homemade. Its darling inside.

Walked in and had to wait for 20 minutes with 3 people in front of me then i asked for a iced black coffee and that was another 5 minutes then i was ask if i would like cream or sugar in my coffee. NO i want it black not that hard

Yikes. My carmel latte tasted burnt, which, I never even knew was possible, my chicken vegetable soup was a meatless bowl of microwaved oil with sinking and depressed vegetables. I think the sandwich was good, but, I mean, relatively speaking.The dude was cool tho, and I got store credit back with no hassle, so no complaints about the human interaction, but, I dont really want to go back.

I like stopping here for lunch. I love their bacon spinach feta wrap with a side of soup. The cafe is cozy and quiet. I also love getting a coffee or one of their many yummy teas! (A great way to keep your hands warm when youre shopping downtown😉)

Atmosphere cant be beat, both pleasant and unique. Drip coffee is great, everything else made fresh on the spot. And the food -- fresh pastries, Kathy will liven up a bagel and cream cheese with fresh spinach, tomato and bacon. And take it from this meat eater: the veggie croissant sandwich is plenty and tasty!

Charming and authentic. A little gem on the mall. The perfect place to spend a lazy Saturday enjoying a good book and hot coffee. The homemade bagels are a must try!

Only had a few minutes, and following a medical procedure... just wanted a quiet, relaxing, cozy, TRUE coffee creation to unwind. I made a PERFECT choice for my need. Barista pleasant without being overly friendly, and helpful in creating the atmosphere I desperately wanted. I will be back and highly recommend. My hot, almond/hazelnut latte was perfect, too!

My sister-in-law and I met at Caffe Casa because its halfway between our homes that are 1.5 hours apart. Neither of us had ever been there. We felt at home the moment we walked through the door. From the owner who served us to the customers who shared their stories, the friendly atmosphere was very evident. The signature latte and loose leaf tea as well as the fresh-baked muffin and layered bar were absolutely delicious!! We will definitely be back:)Lisa(&Tracy)

Its difficult these days to find a place where they make a good cappuccino. I dont like the soap-foam or bland taste one gets everywhere. Coffee drinking is a ritual and this place has a vibe of a temple.

I got no service.Sat at the counter for a while. The lady who works there washed dishes and yelled back and forth to her friend (the only other person in the caffe) sitting 2 seats over at the counter.I can’t even say I got bad service- I was completely ignored- I got no service.I left, and I’m angry.I’ve loved this place until today.I will not walk in again on that person’s shift.There are plenty of other places to grab a coffee in this town.I’m hoping this was an isolated incident.10/4 2:43 pm.

This is one of the under appreciated places to eat in Kalamazoo. Kathy knows about food and cares about putting a great dish in front of her customers. Their coffee and tea selection is amazing, too. You should eat there. Often.

Staff are extremely rude. I came in and asked if I could have an empty coffee cup, even offered to purchase it. The woman at the counter told me to get out. Did she just assume I was a homeless beggar? Either way, homeless or not, treating humans less than human is ridiculous.

I brought in three kids and myself to get something sweet after dinner. The lady behind the counter working was not very friendly, and the other seemed annoyed at out presence. We ordered one chocolate chip cookie, three tiny tea cookies, and a brownie. The choc. chip cookie tasted bad, not anything homemade, but something that came out of a redi-made tub. The three tea cookies were crumbly and tasteless. And the brownie, which she cut down to a sliver instead of giving it to me whole, also had a weird taste to it. I had to stop to rinse my mouth out after because it was such a strange and almost metallic aftertaste, the kids even complained that their stomachs hurt. On top of everything, I was charged $10 for the treats. Which seems pretty high considering the quality of the product.

Cute atmosphere completely ruined by outrageous prices. spent almost $8 on a coffee which was surprising because it looks like its run by hippies (a compliment, their indor decor is good and they even have a lemon tree). but not worth the price.civil coffee house should take notes from cafe casa on how to make a coffee shop cute and comfortable. cafe casa knows how to do atmosphere! even if the price makes me unhappy lol

Nice place I ordered Carmel cappuccino it was Very bad.

The first time I tasted Johns coffee was 20 years ago. Its even better today. Kathys soups are great too. I wish she still made quiche for lunch. Im proud to be a regular customer. And I LOLed at the poor marketdroids comment above.... Just last week I was sitting at the counter, laughing at John hanging up on people trying to sell him stuff.
