My friends and I had pizza at Duetto and we’re going to come back for some gelato after we hit Duval. We walked past this place and decided to give it a try. I saw that they have homemade ice cream so I decided to opt for that. I purchased two scoops of cookies n cream on a waffle cone and it certainly hit the spot. It was delicious. I highly recommend Flamingo Crossing for ice cream!
Great ice cream. I ordered the french chocolate which was very creamy and had a rich flavor. I also ordered the coffee, flavour as well it wasnt as good. Its a flavour that I dont like much, but for some reason I cant stop eating it. Odd huh? As for the person that scooped up and gave me my ice cream, I have no complaints. They were soft spoken, but they looked like they new what they were doing. Great service 6 out of 5 stars, I have saved it to come back to later.
The best Ice cream EVER!!! It is so smooth and feels very nice in your mouth! They have a wide assortment of flavors to accommodate everyone! Their passion fruit and key lime flavors are to DIE for and they taste sooooo delicious! The staff was very friendly and it has a nice ambiance. The outside area to sit is so cute and it has lots of room. 100% recommend going here if you want really good ice cream! Prices are really good too!
Tried a new flavor everyday. Never disappointed by the selection and quality. Will have to go back to try more flavors. The lavender was delicious.
This ice-cream spot is so good that I will be coming back to key west just to get ice-cream here. As a person from the Caribbean the exotic flavors such as the soursop (my favorite), mango and papaya was on point in terms of flavor. The ice cream is not too sweet and it’s very creamy…just nothing like I have ever had. And to top it off the customer service was awesome. I definitely recommend this ice-cream shop.
Best ice cream in Key West! They have a ton of delicious flavors and we love coming here! Customer service is great and Stew is extremely friendly. We will definitely be back!
Nice ice cream place. Lots of variety of flavors. The fruit flavors were very good, including the guava, passion, mango flavors. Prices also reasonable with good size scoops. Its cash only though.
Great Latin themed ice cream flavors like Passion fruit or quava and straight up vanilla were delicious. This place gets busy but worth it. The guy behind the counter was great even though he was serving so many people. And by the way, cash only. Some guy made a huge stink over the place not accepting cards. Give me a break. I know we are all living in a modern kind of world but would it kill you to carry a couple dollars in your pocket?
Great homemade ice cream with a good selection of flavors. Outdoor seating and personable staff made it worthwhile.
Great locally owned, home made ice cream shop in a good location. The owners are great
Good enough. Our daughter loved the lime/lemon sorbet. I tried it. It tasted like concentrate, but when its 100+ freaking degrees and 100%+ humidity out, places like that are a welcome treat.
Fantastic ice cream!! I had the coconut and the key lime pie flavors, both were amazing. Service is friendly, I recommend highly!
Love, love, love it. Homemade custard ice cream. Also have some unusual choices such as Lavender, Sour sop. Friendly staff
The best ice cream in Key West. Shelly was the best! Super friendly, sweet, very kind. Thank you for a great experience.
Homemade ice cream, they have a bunch of flavors so there’s something everyone will like
Did not have anywhere inside to sit and not very many flavors of ice-cream. It was mostly fruity flavors, sherbert, or ice cream with alcohol in it. We ended up going to Häagen-Dazs!
Very enjoyable ice cream and experience! Aside from being near the Southern most Point in Key West, their hand made ice cream was really good 👍We also enjoyed the little hens and chickens roaming freely outside on premises. Overall recommended, just note they are a cash only establishment but do have a fee vases ATM inside the ice cream shop 😉
Very good ice cream, I ordered butter pecan and it was delicious. They have many different types to try from. Check out ChallengingTheOutdoors on YouTube
Delicious ice cream but only cash! The ice cream was yummy. Great staff
Staff was so rude. Went in with my family to get some ice cream to cool down and ask to sample the ice cream (there was about 15 different flavors) and the older senior lady told the other very nice girl and I quote dont give them any sample if theyre not gonna buy with a very rude face. The other girl look and felt so sorry for us. To make it worst. Their debit/credit card machine was down and it was cash only. NOTE: we did buy 6 icecream (had to blind buy without tasting) and that lady made my icecream taste less tasteful and RUINED my vacation mode.
Great ice cream! We are at Key West for a day and looking for ice cream snacks. Waffle is fresh. The guy who does ice cream is fast, 3x faster than Baskin Robin. Plenty of benches to sit outside. And this place has bathroom, such nice hospitality. Worth our time out to shout out for this great stop.
Very good ice cream and the chickens out front enjoy it too. Just watch it my friend rooster jumped up trying to get some. LoL
Cash only. Good ice cream and nice outside seating under some shade.
Large, very thick chocolate shake. Looked like they have lots of interesting flavors but no samples at this time. The only downside was the skinny straw - they really need to be larger to fully enjoy a shake this thick.
A great place to get your lick on some tasty treats. Service was phenomenal Thank you
Excellent Ice Cream served with a smile. Limited seating. We sat outside and watched the parade of tourists - like ourselves.
Very good flavors and variety. I got the Passion Fruit and Banana. Very good mix. There is cash only but a atm is right next to it.
We loved this place so much, we went back one night later. The wait staff was really careful with Covid protocols, which we appreciated.
I had the french chocolate ice cream. It was pretty good. My husband had the butter pecan ice cream. It barely had any flavor. No pecans found. So, that particular flavor was disappointing. The ice cream shop itself was very well clean and sanitary. The one server was friendly and direct for required CDC protocol. *I will return to this location in the future.
Great customer service. Thank you. Ice cream is delicious!
Great ice cream with unique flavors. I was slightly disappointed because the flavors were more subtle than I had expected them to be, but still delicious!
Hands down the best Ice Cream in town! Locally made, Flamingo Crossing ice cream is creamy and delicious! They offer many unique flavors from Rum Raisin and Rum Runner to Cuban coffee and Key Lime. Milkshakes are fantastic! They keep their prices down by allowing only cash payments, however there is an ATM conveniently located outside the shop if you dont have any cash on you.Get a yummy ice cream cone or a milkshake, sit outside on their colorful benches and enjoy people watching on famous Duval St! :)
Great gelato. Worth the visit. Nice picnic tables outside with umbrellas in case you want to sit down in the shad there. Good selection of flavors but missing some of the classics (hazelnut, Nutella, pistacio for example).
Best coconut gelato! Mixed it with chocolate and it was amazing!
Best ice cream I’ve ever eaten. There were three of us, snd we all ordered two different scoops each. I tasted the Mamey (my fave), Key Lime (yum), French Choc (tasted like normal choc), Dulce Le Leche (amazing luscious like caramel), Rum Raisin (so flavorful). Wish we had t done this our last day. Do it your first day and you’ll stop every day ha!
So freakin’ good!!! OMG! We got Key Lime, guava, and passion fruit. They have all the traditional flavors too. Must do!!
They treat locals like trash. I simply asked if they offered a local discount and I was told straight up ‘NO!’. Being in the hospitality industry for 13 years and being born and raised in Key West I will make sure to no longer send my guests here.
Not local friendly.... Got made fun of when I asked for a local discount... 99% of all businesses in Key West give local discounts ranging from 10-30% except for Flamingo Crossings. Go to DQ or even McDonalds instead of here.
Really good unique icecream at great prices.
Ice cream shop was neat and clean the ice cream was great
Over priced, $5 bucks for a scoop of ice cream 🍦
Delicious Gelato, but no sampling because of covid🙄
They make homemade icecream! Butter pecan was sooo good!
Excellent ice cream! Natural, delicious ingredients and quality you can taste. Eugene is efficient and polite, and runs a right ship so the line moves quickly.
This ice cream is delish! The chocolate amaretto ice cream was delicious, but the lavender ice cream was PERFECT! A wonderful blend of sweet and fresh!
Great selection of flavors and good ice cream. Cash only is a bummer
Great ice cream, very rich and tasty. I had the butter pecan, which was as good or better than premium commerical brands like Haagen Daz. The spoons are like razor blades though, watch out.
Always a pleasure coming here with a date
My girlfriend and I couldn’t decide if we wanted milkshakes or wine tonight. Stew helped us compromise and made us boozy milkshakes with Sherry. WHAT A MOVE! 🤝
Wonderful flavors and generous servings.
A delicious way to beat the heat
Good ice cream, but CASH ONLY
Very friendly and helpful staff. The prices were reasonable and I don’t think they were taking advantage of all the tourists. The ice cream was good too. I’ll be coming back the next time I find myself in Key West.
Great ice cream. Daughter loved the french chocolate milkshake and I had the butter pecan..
Dreamy ice cream offering unique flavors as well as the classics!
Amazing icecream!!! Cash only.
One of my most favorite ice cream place and probably one of the best ice cream ever made in the continental United States. What is my personal favorite flavors is the blueberries and cream ice cream as well as their shakes and malts.
Had a rum runner sorbet. Recommend it!!
Flamingo Crossing is a family favorite with unique ice cream flavors for all tastes and preferences. Whether you get a real milkshake, a cone, or just eat yours from a dish, you can know that youre enjoying the best ice cream available on the island.
Do yourself a favor and stop here, but bring cash. It is a cash only operation.
If you want fun, and ice cream, and a chance to see the craziness of Duval St, come to Flamingo Crossing. This place was a family favorite in 1995-1999, and still is today. Bring cash as tgey dont take credit. Great ice cream. Tip the man.
Great homemade ice cream!!!
Ice cream was very good.
Sadly, the last time ever at this store. We were walking up to the door, masks in hand to put them on. The guy behind the counter nastily said we have to put our masks on. We told him we were, okay maybe he didnt realize it. The couple ahead of us got their ice cream and he told them they have to keep their masks on in the store. The guy says ok but we have our masks on and were not removing them. Our turn, we get our ice cream, hand him the money, and he tells us we have to keep our masks on in the store. Not at all in a nice tone. We say we are not taking them off. No response from him. As we get ready to leave he tells us we have to exit the other door, which is poorly marked and we didnt even see.We were following the rules completely. I dont want some rude employee telling me what to do like I am in kindergarten and I am doing nothing wrong.
I really wanted to like this place. But the ice cream was average and the staff was very rude. I cant recommend it. Spend your money elsewhere - there are plenty of delicious ice cream shops on Duval with courteous staff.
The key lime ice cream is to die for, so good. TELL ME YOU DONT TAKE CREDIT CARDS BEFORE YOU SCOOP IT SO I CAN GO GET CASH WITHOUT PAYING $6 IN ATM FEES AT YOUR ATM!
Decent selection, prices are about the same as other places in the area
One of my favorite places to sit and people watch on the quieter end of Duval Street. They have awesome homemade ice cream and sorbet in a wide variety of flavors. Bring cash, they do not accept cards. They do have an ATM inside.
So delicious! Our girls loved it!
Ok, most unique flavors lacked flavor. Too uptight for a ice cream place were ur looking to end a meal or a mid day snack. Relax, & develop the flavors, some good ideas, just misses.
Decent location with easy parking. However, the workers acted as if they did not want to be there. Very hostile attitudes towards my family and I. The ice cream was homemade, yes, but with an overly icy texture. If you want some great desert there are plenty of other good places in the area.
Great homemade flavors...great friendly staff..clwan..safe..yummy!
Not only was the ice cream fantastic, but the customer service as well. We walked in very close to closing time and were still able to try a couple selections and choose what we would like with no rush. Stu and his wife were very friendly and welcoming as if we were old friends. I would absolutely continue to go back and recommend to anyone that loves good hand made ice cream.
Delicious homemade ice cream, so glad that they’re still open. I had key lime and coconut and bought a quart of French chocolate to keep me going during social distancing! Thanks for taking care of your locals Flamingo Crossing!
Great guava ice cream. The guanabana didnt have much flavor. May go back to try more options!
Loved the selections of ice creams. The Guava and Passion Fruit, tasted delicious together. Thank you again for letting me try samples to see which ice cream flavor, I would like best. The prices are good, and the ice cream is truly creamy. Plus I enjoyed the roosters outside, as the added addition.
Always good and always a line
Cash only! There is an atm if needed. Good variety of flavors. Seating only outside.
The ice cream here is so good. We got strawberries and cream, pineapple, and mango. All were smooth and delicious. They also have a lot of nondairy options and yogurts!
Wonderful selection of fresh, real tropical fruit ice cream you will not find elsewhere. One of the top K W secrets. Been going there for over 30 years ❤️
Fantastic ice cream and great service.
I just stopped in here after seeing great reviews, I was over-heating, dripping in sweat with my nine-month-old baby girl, the man working here was so unfriendly and unwelcoming, made me go get my facemask which I was fine with, but when I came back and he rudely told me it’s cash only, I left without it getting anything. This employee is going to destroy your relationship with customers!
The tastiest ice cream, original flavors!
I have been coming to the island since I was in my teens with my parents and am now bringing my kids. When we first started going to Flamingo Crossing, this was the best place hands down. We would walk all the way down Duval from the Galleon. Excellent ice cream, excellent service. Unfortunately while the ice cream is still the best hands down, we have had an older gentleman as our server for the past 4-5 years, and he is just awful. I was reading some of the reviews, and annoyed doesnt even begin to describe his attitude. We talked about this place to my son and he was so excited to try some of the flavors, as most are unique and he has never tried them. The guy audibly sighed, wore an annoyed, almost angry expression and was just completely rude. We walked away shaking our heads. My father thought it was the owner because he has been there for a while. It is hard to imagine any owner tolerating this type of treatment. The only thing I will say in his defense is there was a steady line out the door and he was literally the only one on duty. It definitely needs to be better staffed. And that man has no business being in customer service. At. All. I am sorry to say we didnt go back specifically because of him. We went somewhere closer to our condo.
