Wow!!! I initially would have rated this place as 4 stars, but after a return trip it is definitely a 5 for treats! I was not a fan of their key lime pie on my first visit, not saying it was bad, I just liked others on the island a little better. My wife ordered a peanut butter cookie on our first visit and it was delicious.On our second visit several of my family members tried their ice cream, everyone of us loved our selections. This ice cream is delicious. My wife got the peanut butter cookie with peanut butter fudge and chocolate fudge, it was excellent. The fudge was delicious, wish I would have ordered a square of that while I was there.

When you’re visiting key west this is the place to have the famous key lime pie.. and the ice cream are so good

Wow! And I mean wow! From 1/2 lb cookies to Gluten Free macaroons that have to weigh at least (I dont know exact weight Im guessing by size and how full I got) 1/4lb. Their Key Lime Pie is awesome. When I read reviews that it was the best in town... well we went right over.These desserts are so full of flavor, they are moist and absolutely delicious.

I had a sweet tooth after drinking in the early evening and was so happy that this place was still opened late. It closes at midnight so made it just in time to get a little something sweet!The ice cream is in the back and they have a good variety of flavors. I went with the Key Lime and Khalua Almond Fudge. Super delish!After this I continued on my merry way on Duval Street.

We went to 1 shop on Duval and were looking for peanut butter fudge. We were told to walk about two blocks up to the next shop since they didnt have fudge there. We walked over 2 blocks and saw nothing, then went back to the original shop, to be told to go about 3 blocks and go past where we originally walked. The staff did not seem very friendly at either location! However the ice cream and fudge was good!

Can’t begin to explain what a great experience this was for my wife and I. Customer service is a cherry on the sundae of offerings at this place. Thank you!

Great fudge great variety a must-see Place enjoy

We passed this place while walking around and layer came back to it after lunch. We got two cookies- a chocolate chip with nuts and a white chocolate with macadamia nuts. I paid $15 for two cookies- and was a bit shocked at the price. I was thinking I really hope these cookies are worth it. They were totally delicious. They are big cookies and were soft and super fresh. Really delicious and they didnt skimp on the nuts or chocolate chips. I would definitely buy another cookie from there. The fudge also looked amazing.

Our family loves Mattheessens! Its our go to ice cream and cookies spot. The owners are absolutely lovely. I recommend them to everyone lookinh for great homemade ice cream ❤

We told the head baker would be back. When we returned he welcomed us back. I bought two of the largest brownies which were delicious. I also enjoyed a slice of key lime pie. My husband enjoyed his ginormous cookie.

The best dessert shop on the entirety of Key West. Great ice cream, huge cookies and brownies, shakes and more. The best item however are the macaroons! The macaroons are fluffy, flavorful, and addicting (and can come dipped in chocolate). If you are on Duval looking for sweets, this is the place!

The icecream and cookies are great and the store smells amazing, but unfortunately when given a sample for the icecream it’s so small you can barely taste the Ice cream and I’m not exaggerating. My mom owns a icecream shop in Daytona and we make sure that the customer is able to truly sample the icecream. The worker also looked very unhappy.. maybe she was having a bad day. I pray it gets better.

Got a cookie the size of my head (and then 2 more the next 2 days haha) it was so good!! The boys got ice cream cones and they said they were really good! Go to the Mattheessen’s that is a little further down Duval not as close to Mallory Square-the people working there are much more friendly.I was trying to review Duval Street as a whole, lots of restaurants, bars and shops, but didn’t see that option

Toasted coconut ice cream was unbelievable. I definitely was tempted by the cookies too, but only tried the ice cream. Kids loved their cake batter their ice cream! I’d go back multiple times to this place if we had spent more days here.

Absolutely delicious cookies! Got a chocolate chip, oatmeal raisin, and M&M. Brought the oatmeal raisin back home and gave it to my husband 2 days later. Cookie was still incredibly fresh. He said it would be worth a drive down (we are about 4 hours away) just for the cookie. I will definitely go back!

An amazing place for dessert!!! Wife got the chocolate ice cream on a cone and well I got two massive cookies (chocolate chip & oatmeal). I definitely ate the whole cookie and enjoyed every last bite. Make sure to try the chocolate fudge too. Next plan is to take some cookies back home with me.

Those brownies..... we visit here several times ever trip to Key West. The Key Lime pie is also amazing. If you have a sweet tooth like us, then this is a great go to place to add to you list of stops. Great friendly staff as well at every location (they have 3 spots in Key West). If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle of Duval Street, they have another location over on Greene Street by Kermits. There are two locations on Duval St.

Being a cookie eater all my life the peanut butter and the oatmeal cookies are the best! Im back in Orlando right now and I sure wish I had some of those cookies tonight. There were 3 of us with different flavored ice creams and the unanimous consensus was each was way too sweet. The texture of mine (Turtle Crunch) was great but the sugar content was so overwhelming that I couldnt finish it. The guy behind the counter was super nice though.

Got the chocolate chip cookie. While it was cool to get a big cookie like that, it was a bit overcooked and dry.

Really good macarons and cocies... Tried only those two, but I think the all will be good . Highly recommend

I went to this place today cause of reading some good reviews first of all i ordered Vanilla ice cream it wasnt that good at all blue bell home made vanilla is way better i also ordered two chocolate chip cookies they were pretty good but $24 for 2 chocolate chip cookies and a vanilla ice cream i found it to be expensive.

Best Key Lime Pie in Key West. Take it to go and enjoy at home or get one dipped in chocolate to replace an ice cream.

Walked past once and saw massive amounts of fudge in the window. The second pass was cookies and HAD to stop. The chocolate chip cookies are as big as a mans head and are out if this world good! They have a very friendly staff too.

Ice cream was delicious and my husband bought a chocolate topped peanut butter cookie that could of fed a family of six. The cookie was so soft and reminded me of a peanut butter blossom. If you like sweets you definitely need to stop in when your in Key West.

On 2/22, I was enjoying my experience up until I was ready to order some ice cream for myself and my family. I said hello to the employee (white female, blond short hair, maybe in her 50s) that was serving the ice cream and she refused to greet me. I said it again and her response was what do you want? Im pretty sure it has to do with my race because her demeanor towards the other family that was right before me was totally different. Yup, you guessed it, that family was white. It was heartbreaking experiencing this in Key West. People come from all over the world to enjoy the treasures of this town. I did express this to the manger that was outside smoking a cigarette and his only response was ok Ill talk to her. Mattheessens please educate your entire staff on treating ALL customers with RESPECT.

All of the sweets drew me in. I ended up getting the peanut butter fudge cookie after it was recommended by another customer. It was soooooo good!!!!!!

We were lured in by the smell of cookies and then the display of giant chocolate chip cookies in the window.They sell giant cookies, giant fudge, generously scooped ice cream, key lime pie, and lemonade. The ice cream is pretty standard but the cookies are amazing! The staff was very kind to us.

This place has pretty tasty stuff!! We stayed in key west for 3 nights and stopped by every night for dessert. The key lime pie is so good!! Their pie has the thickest and most buttery graham cracker crust which I love. Also, it’s not too tart with limey flavor but also not overly sweet. And it’s not frozen! I tried it dipped in chocolate and the chocolate was too thick and made it too rich so I had to pick off the chocolate to finish it off. The next night I just had the regular and it was much better!! They also have huge cookies that were really good and their ice cream was good as well! We stopped at both locations and the staff was friendly at both places.
