This is one of the most pleasurable experiences I have every had when trying to buy a new car. From the minute I called the sales department of Genesis of Lafayette until I drove off the lot, there was unsurpassed down home courtesy, compassion and genuine consideration for all my expectations. They had what they said they had, they were patient in dealing with my numerous questions and they delivered a great deal. I can not complain at all about the purchasing experience at this deal but when it comes to the service that is a different story. The genesis care plan post purchase is a complete joke. Previously owning a g80 when they first hit the market I NEVER in my 2 years of ownership was given a genesis as a loaner car while my g80 was in the shop for service or manufacture recalls. Fast forward 2 years and I’m back with genesis, now driving their g90 ultimate. Getting a genesis loaner when getting my vehicle serviced is normally a 3 week wait for one to be available. It is very apparent that the dealer does NOT have enough for the amount of cars that need to be serviced. Apparently this is going to change because I’m at the service department right now and I was told that next time my car was serviced that I would not be getting a loaner because loaners would only be given to customers that are having mechanical difficulties with their vehicles and loaners would not be given out for normal maintenance services. This does go against genesis promise to its customers. This is only a minor offense when it comes to the lack of mechanical know how of the service technicians. This is the second time in a row that I have brought in my g90 for an oil change only to have them overfill my oil by 1.5 quarts and consider my car an AWD when it is in fact a RWD. Easily distinguishable by looking under the car or looking for a badge on the back of the trunk. The only way I found out about this issue the first time was by checking my oil after the service. It is now oil change time again and as I walk out of the dealership I check my oil snd sure enough the oil is so far past the dipstick that the oil level surpassed the plastic part of the dipstick. I thought that this issue would of been resolved after I sat down with the service manager to let him know how poor of a job his technicians were doing. Apparently not. Not to mention the financial side of being charged for additional oil that is not needed just to watch them have to take the car back and drain it to the proper level. Absolutely pitiful that the technicians lack the common understanding that they need to check the dip stick before finishing with the service process. This issue has been well documented and I pray that the issue has not caused my engine damage after driving the car with an overfilled oil capacity. To the service managers defense he did tell me that my next oil change was on the house but I’m not sure if I will trust the technicians to take my car once again.
I reached out to Mr. Blake Arceneaux at Sterling Genesis with interest in a G70 & before I knew it the vehicle, with the package I wanted in the color I wanted, was delivered to my front door from 3 hours away the very next morning! I got a great price right off the bat with no haggling or back & forth. This was the easiest car buying experience I’ve ever had. Mr. Chris Cormier drove it 3 hours to me & showed me how to use all the fun new bells & whistles & explained all the paperwork to me in detail. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience then maybe a call from the owner right lol?! A few hours into my 1st day enjoying my new car I received a call from Mr. Robert Cook to thank me for my business & to make sure I was loving my new car. What incredible service & overall experience! My expectations were exceeded to say the least!
