On our recent trip to Lancaster, we were disappointed to miss Central Market. So we searched online for another local butcher. We chose Appel Valley based on location and user reviews and headed over early the next morning.Are we ever glad we did. Appel Valley represents everything youre looking for when you think of a country butcher. The meats...prepare yourself to have a hard time deciding, as everything looked delicious. We picked up bologna, Jerky, special bacon, roast beef and a smoked ham which the owner/butcher Steve was happy to cut to size.The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making several helpful recommendations.Put simply, Appel Valley was SO GREAT that when we got back to NYC, I had to write this review. The shop is now on our must-hit list for future visits.

This is like a meat Disney Land for Foodies...Absolutely one of the Happiest Places on earth. This shop sell the best meats in all of PA, I am convinced. I’m not sure how our family only found this place a few months ago.. this place is easily the best unknown spot in Lancaster currently.Every meat/purchase has been on point, crazy fresh and great stuff.. have had bacon, ribeye, sausage, deli meats.. price point is a great value as well with everything being local/fresh cut.GO!!

You will LOVE this butcher...they greet you and treat you like you are their only customer....even when they are so busy that customers are lined up to the door. If you like beef jerky or beef sticks-this will become your go to place to get them. The bacon is amazing and the burgers are delish! All the meats are top quality...you simply can not get this quality at the grocery store. Give them a try, and if you want something to taste...they gladly give you samples so you know what flavors you like. Try them, and you will become a regular!

We have never got anything here that wasnt the best, we love good steak, over the years we bought at a lot of places, we havent went anywhere else since stopping here the first time .

By far one of the best butchers around. All employees are friendly, patient, knowledgeable, and helpful. The meat is of fantastic quality, and all of the smoked products, burgers, and more are absolutely delicious. To top it all off, prices are reasonable - especially for the quality of food youre getting.

What a gem right in our neighborhood! Meats are high quality and delicious! All the ladies that work here are friendly and helpful when trying decide what to get with all the variety they have. The london broil is my favorite... followed by the hamburgers...followed by the maple sausage...followed by the bacon...followed by....LOL!

No question this is the best place to visit. My first trip today exceeded 10 time my expectations. Steve sugested some meat for me to use, to make some jerky. There bologna is out of this world. Good luck guys your great.

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. First time I visited they went out of their way to explain their selection and processing. A little bit of everything from custom cuts to delicious jerkey and its all fresh and fantastic quality. No more grocery store meats for me.

Wonderful butcher shop. Meet is excellent, owners are awesome and the staff is just so pleasant and knowledgeable. Their brisket burgers are amazing, as well as their chuck roast and bolognas. Went there last night for first time. Passed it for years but didnt look open. They told me they opened back up aprox 2 years ago.I got some minced meat for pie. IT IS BANGING. Best minced meat Ive had in years!!!We got some roast beef. It too was Really good. This is a place you have to try plus you are helping small buisness.

I go for the bacon. You cant compare this meat to the vacuum packed shards of fat you get in the grocery store. While Im standing there looking in the case and waiting for my turn, I eye up the sausage. Everything is made right there.
