I have been going to Gonzales since the 1990s and it has always been top quality meats, product and knowledgeable, friendly service. You get the best meat in town and they make you feel like family.

From my personal experience I find them to be friendly to their own. I was not greeted just watched. It was a dire need of the freshest ingredients of green vegetables( they didnt disappoint) but they failed at basic customer courtesy especially at that meat market. Hopefully I will never have to return.

Your typical neighborhood Mexican, meat/grocery market.. They have some descent selection of meats thats why I go there once in awhile because I can be in and out. There Groceries though are on the short handed side and rarely is there anything fresh.

My disabled mother was accused of stealing from this store after six and a half years of going there she couldnt figure out why they were looking through her bag the last few times she went in to the shop but today she found out the owner said she is stealing even though they have checked her bag and found no stolen items, While she was being accused my mother was trying to let the cashier know that she didnt charge her for the tinfoil. Even while being falsely accused of stealing my mother was trying to do the right thing and pay for the tinfoil .

I had a great experience here. Very clean, well kept areas. And the food was reasonably priced, and fresh. Always a plus. I went for meat for my house. The staff was very friendly and a pleasure to have gone to the Gonzalez meat market. Thanks again.

To expensive.

We had purchased Ranchera (flap meat) from Gonzalez meat market less than a week ago. We purchased 8LB worth we froze it and after unfreezing the product it gave the most rancid smell. I continued to call the manager of the store but they said no its impossible to have gone bad if we had frozen it in time? Basically blaming it on us. I asked is there anyway I can maybe even get half of it or something since it was a lot of meat he said no nothing they can do. I was a frequent buyer at this market their meat was more expensive but I liked the original atmosphere. I will no longer be returning.

Best meat in the AV for carne asada... no one has better meat for tacos, burritos, tortas. Their chicharrón is perfect for pupusas. Great produce selection and friendly service.

I just had a very uncomfortable racist experience with mr. Gonzalez Meat Market. The first one to say that before this incident my family and Id which owns a catering company by a lot of meat from them so I was caught off guard when walking into the market I was followed around like I was a criminal. It was very disappointing and uncomfortable. I am a black woman and the area that this Market is in is predominantly black people. To treat the majority of people that resides in your area like theyre all criminals is unfair. My family and I will not spend another dime with this Market.

I bought ranchera from Carniceria Gonzalez based on the reviews. The people who wrote them are probably employees, friends or family members to get the ratings up. And they are a bunch of morons! My ranchera was so tough and chewy that we fed the rest to the dogs. Dont be fooled by phony ratings!
