First time here, just stopped in to get something for lunch. Atmosphere was very nice, places inside and out to sit down. Staff was super friendly.The fries were tasty though I do wish there had been more gravy/cheese had been melted. While there the burgers being served looked absolutely delicious so Ill definitely be back to try out what else they have.

I ordered the spicy chicken with xxxtra spicy option. It definitely packed some heat. The sandwich was good and unique, but I probably wouldnt get it again. Place was nice and staff was friendly. Will go back to try their other items.

Cabalar Meat Co. was recommended to me by a college classmate.Tonight I got the Classic burger and mixed green side salad. Easily one of the best burgers Ive ever had! The salad was delicious too.

Absolutely the best burger Ive had in my life. Since Ive eaten that burger it has dominated my thoughts. Ive also have now tried the Pastrami Reuben which is incredible, the poutine is amazing, so are the pork rinds and onion rings. This place does everything well.

Heard this place had amazing burgers and sandwiches, but also was a butcher. Decided to buy a bone in ribeye to grill and split with my girlfriend. She grilled it medium rare, and it was simply the best steak Ive ever had.Looking forward to going back and trying one of the burgers they were preparing while we waited they look amazing!!If you do decide to try a fresh cut steak, please be aware that there may be a wait. The butcher was not able to cut something for us when we first stopped in, but we were told to come back in an hour. There are lots of things to do in Lancaster to kill time while you wait. We were lucky to be able to go home and come back in an hour to pick up that amazing steak.

Amazing sandwiches, great fries.Local Mad Chef Brewing has a stand in the back too, open form 4-8 on Thursdays, and open while Cabalar is open on Fridays and Saturdays. Great addition.

I like Cabalar. I have been there numerous times, and they have consistently produced quality food. The french fries are delicious. The atmosphere is pleasant. The sandwiches are tasty. The fried pickles are phenomenal.A word of warning: If you have a delicate stomach, do not order the Spicy Chicken sandwich. I ate it on a Saturday afternoon: tasted good, VERY spicy. Saturday night, I was screaming in pain. All day Sunday, my digestive system was recovering from the experience.

Food is good, but the strict no substitution policy is unfortunate. The sandwiches and burgers are very specific, so you either like exactly what they have or you don’t. Sides that come with the meal aren’t good—should be able to upgrade to the better sides on the menu.That said, the prices are fair. $9 for a regular burger and chips or salad, $14 for a fancier burger/sandwich and side.They are often busy, but even with the busyness in mind they can be slow (30 minutes for a burger with a handful of people on front of you).Route 66 is about as good and lets you customize your order. Go there instead.

This was my wife’s and my first time as we ate from out of town but I would give this place 10 stars if it would let me! This place is an awesome place to eat with great service! I would highly recommend this place to anyone if you’re every in the area!! It smells amazing inside as well! I had the sweet-heat burger and my wife had the patty melt. Fresh meat, amazing taste, great location. Set up not quite easy to understand and the place echoed so loud i felt more like I was in a bar then a place to get food. No menus up and visible so you feel a little lost. But overall I liked the food but wish it wasnt so cumbersome to figure out ordering and seating and the bathroom situation!

I have always enjoyed the wonderful smells of Calabar on the street but this was my first time here and definitely will not be my last! Great atmosphere and nice tables outside. This meal was amazing and one of the best I’ve had! Great customer service! An employee realized my friend’s order was mixed up and gave her a to go order (including fries) with the correct order. This place is great, an awesome butcher shop that has a great food menu. The patty melt is legit, one of the best food items on town. The guy who works the register always smiles, and you can get some cool stuff here like lard or beef bones. Voodoo brewery also has a stand in the back that they serve beer out of. This is a great spot that we always love going to.

Bar none, the pastrami Reuben here is the one to beat, hands down. Its so good, there arent proper words for it. Seriously. Paired with Voodoo Brewing in the same location, how can you even go wrong? I visit weekly from Berks. Hands down my favorite place to eat in Lancaster and that says a lot! Everything I have ever had has been amazing. I brought a friend one time and he got a breakfast sandwich. I said why order that after a hour drive. He said taste it....best breakfast sandwich ever! Also Im not a fan of bread n butter pickles but his fried pickles with that sauce oh damn. Open a place in West Reading!

Really neat place. Two small complaints about the food... Side salad was too salty and I think my wifes sandwich just have been left sitting a wee bit too long. The juices from the meat made the bun pretty soggy. That said, the flavors were fantastic. The pickle mayo that came with the fries was unique and delicious. Ive been in need of a really good burger for a long time and this hit the spot. Definitely will be back.

Walking around the city during 1st Friday and tried Cabalar Meat Company. The restaurant is great, layout is open and allows people to see the kitchen. We had the classic and steakhouse burgers. The burgers were cooked perfectly. The rolls were tossed and the homemade mayo was excellent. Thanks to their association with Grandview winery I had a glass of Riesling while we waited, which at 40 min was the only downside. However it was 7 pm on 1st friday and the food more than made up for the wait! I cant wait to go back and would highly recommend this restaurant.

Discovered Cabalar Meat Co during restaurant week. I had no idea the place existed before until then. Ordered over the phone for pick-up and went to pick it up. I had to try 3 different doors before I found the clearly marked door. Lol. Anyway when I got there all the employees were wearing masks and the place looked very clean.On to the most important part, the food. The food was AMAZING! I say this despite the fact that our food wasnt fresh as in right off the grill when you eat in. So despite the fact that our order was ready well before I got there and the drive home and all that lovely stuff that makes take out not as good. Honestly, in this case it didnt even matter, it was sooooo good! Fresh meat and rolls and the flavor combination was so good. We got the house special burger and fries. This is the first time I didnt need to put on ketchup or anything else. The burger was perfect the way it was and the fries were the fresh cut type. Yummy! Definitely will be going back and if you havent checked it out you should!!

Thanks to the culinary evangelism of a friend, I just wiped away the remaining, greasy glob of cheese from my face. The elegantly balanced remnants of the explosion of flavor from what was the best burger I’ve had since leaving NOVA, left me weeping for more. Tonight, as I sleep, I will dream of resting my calorie filled body amidst a bed completely composed of those supple, righteously sweet and perfectly buttered brioche buns.Thank you, Heather for your guiding light.Thank you, Cabalar for my redemption. It is by your brilliantly balanced trinity of brioche, aioli and beef that I am saved.Amen.

My boyfriend and I went and got burgers from here today. The classic burgers were so good! Fries and salad delicious also :) They have a selection of craft sodas to choose from for drinks.

Best patty melt! Cooked fresh in open kitchen, great breakfast options as well. Have since had the shrimp po boy and will definitely be getting that again as long as it is on the menu. The portion of shrimp was very generous and the tomatoes were so fresh.

Burgers are delicious! You can tell its quality ingredients. Only downside is not very big portions.

Cabalar is definitely within the top three eateries I’ve ever been to. As of this writing I was able to convince four friends that this is indeed the best burger they’ve ever had. No matter what you order though, you are in for a treat. I will recommend a trip to Cabalar every time, hands down.

Great customer service! Been here multiple times and we are never disappointed!! Prepared food is always top notch and so is the beef jerky, sausages and anything else from the case. One day I asked for a cut of beef that wasn’t in the case and they were more than happy to cut me some fresh! Love, love, love coming here when we are in the city :)

I have only gotten fresh cut meat from them so I can only speak about that. Just recently we got filet mignon and its the best you can get. So tender and easily cut with a fork. Always a pleasure to stop by when were in the area.

Got 2 stakehouse burgers and 1 rueben, and griddle pound cake for 3 people. We were all very pleased with the flavors, the tenderness of the meat, and everyone was begging for more of the cake. They have indoor dining. Will definitely be coming back!

I had the pleasure of meeting the owner Steve Cabalar through a mutual friend for a bachelor party recently. He was generous enough to take on the cooking duties for the entire group (10 guys or so), preparing 3+ meals per day over the weekend. We enjoyed some of the most popular items on the menu. I had to commend him on his attention to detail more than a few times. No corners cut, whatsoever. There was a real pride of ownership that came with everything he made. He was even nice enough to go out of his way to prepare vegetarian options for solely for me (only person veg there). Although I have yet to visit the restaurant, I can assure you you’re in for an awesome experience with Steve at the helm. I will be making it a point to visit Lancaster from northern NJ in the not so distant future. Thanks again Steve!

Literally will leave you with needing a meat-nap...and I mean that in the BEST way possible. Best sandwich’s in town hands down. My only recommendation is to ask for either light sauce or sauce on the side, they can be a little heavy with it on some sammies. I tip my cap

Worst experience at a restaurant in a long time all food came out cold after waiting 40 minutes with not many people there when we made them aware they did make it over this time burger and fries came out hot but the pork and Mac was colder than the first time then they lie to us and say that the pork and Mac is served cold but it was the last dish they brought out to us after the remake stay away from this place no pride in what they do, so if you want to blame covid for your incompitence thats your descision i was sitting by the door and maybe 5 takeout orders were picked up in that 40 minutes, and exactly how long am i supposed to wait on this positive experience your talking about, and not anywhere in your attack response on me did you mention your employee lying about my dish was supposed to be served cold its your story tell it the way you want by the way it was not peak hours it was 1130 am

I ordered for pickup over the phone very clearly, and the staff person taking my order even repeated it back to me correctly. I went to pick it up, got home and discovered that my husband’s burger was missing. I called them back and the person who answered told me they would have his burger ready in 10 minutes, and they wouldn’t charge me. My husband went and picked it up. When we finally sat down to eat, the inside of his burger was extremely bright red; too rare to be enjoyable. He couldn’t finish it, and we were too tired of running back and forth to try to get them to get it right.My food tasted good, and I think it would have been a good experience if the order had been prepared correctly. It was just really disappointing that that was our first experience. My advice to anyone going there: check your pickup order to make sure everything is there before you head out. And ask them to make sure it’s fully cooked.

This is by far the BEST burger joint in Lancaster. My wife and I love our causal dates here! Jay who takes our order is the best, and everyone who works there is so nice! I will always recommend Cabalar to anyone looking for good burgers, fries, and beer.

I am so excited to have a whole animal butcher in town. Steve is fantastic and puts great care into what he does. Answered all my questions and is able to get me any cut that I wished for from the picanha to a true skirt steak and anywhere in between. I have made several pork broth dishes and it has elevated the taste to a new level. The pork belly, shoulder and sirloin have turned out extremely tasty. If you want to know what real beef and pork is suppose to taste like, you need to buy from here. If you need cuts and parts that you cant find from the other guys, this is the place. Please keep in mind that you are paying for quality and its worth every penny. None of that corn fed stuff for the masses.

Theres a lot good restaurants in Lancaster, but this is one of the few great ones! The flavors of their food is really incredible. Their house burger only has like 4 ingredients but it has so much flavor. Their poutine are insanely good. But their pastrami fries was in the top 5 of most flavorful things Ive ever eaten. Whoever came up with that recipe is extremely talented!

Great food! I did take out and it was convenient and yummy! I ordered pork onto homemade Mac and cheese, wow! Fantastic. The fries were great, not the biggest fan of the onion rings. They also had a great selection of drinks, especially alternatives to terrible soda! Thank you for the great food!
