I would give this store a 0 if I could... the only reason I ever stepped foot in this place is its location. That being said, this place (and its surrounding area) is disgusting. It also caters to a *very* small clientele- see photo for a hint. Based on this location, I have no desire to go to any other Jons, family owned or not. I have never bothered with fresh produce here and the only thing I have consistently found convenient is the ice cream (and eggs but this store isnt cheap). If youre getting one thing, like I attempted earlier today, because I did not want to break a large bill or charge my card for one thing less than ten dollars, ****the only coins this place accepts are in rolls from the bank***. Apparently Jons employees cannot take a minute to count, but its okay that I, as a customer, typically must wait forever in line for who knows what type of transaction ahead of me due to a shortage of cashiers (earlier this evening was actually miraculously short, go figure). I have worked retail and I never refused a customer for using legitimate currency, !change!, when they had accumulated enough to be rid of. Perhaps counting at the end of the evening is more strenuous, but thats just business. But because of this policy at Jons, I had no desire to support this already unimpressive business who refused my well counted, clean, change, (though the cashier and manager werent rude about it, just firm). Instead, I opted to support another local business that was a bit farther away. I will happily avoid Jons forevermore.

If youre looking for international foods from other cultures this is the place to go. Prices are reasonable but shop the sales for the best value.

Jons is great. Their prices are fairly high so I dont do my regular shopping here. Theyre right across the street from my where I live, though, and will occasionally have a sale. Also, their service friendly so thats why I would recommend them...

I bought a triple chocolate fudge cake by cafe valley there at your store its good that you have one of my favorite things however, it would be better if the cake had a seal to close the cake so that no one could open the cake at the store. It would definitely give me peace of mind and want to continue to buy a cake there every week. Just food for thought. Thank you 😊

Before they got a make over they were really high. Much higher than Ralphs. But they have since up graded the facade and even added organic produce. I guess that stimulus money helped.

I really despise this store and its employees. It is priced outrageously and poorly managed. Rude pushy shoppers who cut in line,; usually have a number of unruly kids, without shoes running around the store opening packages

I do not have sociology-economic profiles for Whole Foods patrons to hand but I will wager this statistic is pushing the national household income average merely by recalling that this purveyor of fine food is often referred to as whole paycheck.So dear reader I will assume that Whole Foods patrons enjoy bountiful paychecks and now wish to point out that for at least one Whole Foods patron money cannot buy class as evidenced by the photo of Los Angeles Streets mens restroom wall featuring evidence of some bloke gobbing on said wall. Very tasteful indeed....

Honestly, I love this Jon’s Market. Been coming here since I was small. I always love coming here for the employee Letty! She has always has great customer service, welcoming, very helpful and caring. She’s the reason why I came back all the time, she’s a wonderful person! But I went in today and the new short cashier that helped me out today was being so rude and had very bad customer service!! Bring back the old employees, their were all amazing just like Letty! Letty is the only reason why I give the store 5 stars

The price is for the meat specifically are good There are a few other items that are well priced but for the most part I wouldnt suggest doing full on grocery shopping here. If you live in the neighborhood it absolutely is convenient though

The aisles are a bit narrow to navigate when there are a lot of customers, but otherwise this is a very nice grocery store with adequate produce & meat departments. The staff seem helpful whenever I have had a question. They even offered to help carry my bags to my car once, but I had to turn them down since I always walk to this location.

Love this place. Very fresh and cheap produce! It is my wallets best friend.Also, there are soda promotions, which are a good deal (dont drink too much soda).The variety is low but the price is sooo good. I like to buy bananas, oranges, and tomatoes.There are not that many counters open and corridors are quite narrow.But it is very affordable so I am thankful for Jons.

I live 2 blocks away & frequent this store weekly. They have great weekly specials. Also, they have Thursday-Sunday Extra special sales. Workers are kind & friendly. It caters to the hispanic community, though Im a white male.

Small store but enough merchandise

The closest grocery to me! Varying price points, great selection. I go elsewhere for arugula, quinoa, and specialty soda, and thats about it! Eggs here are great.

My Husband and I bought $20 dollars worth of groceries today 5/21/19 at 16:56:21 the cashier named Evelyn #16880 She tried to steal from my Husband Charging him $4.99 for cocoa puffs that didnt belong to him my Husband He even used the divider stick between his groceries and the next person and still she charged my Husband for something he did not even have. after he read the receipt my Husband approached her before he left the store and asked evelyn why did she charge him for something he did not have? She didnt even apologized she was just upset she got caught and she returned the $4.99 back to him. the store is fine but the cashiers there are always trying to steal money.

Go shopping there a lot. Its convenient,(2 blocks from home) & they have great deals(18 pk lg eggs...1.79) Friendly staff,too.

I LOVE the fresh produce and the fresh prepared meals departments...I HATE the parking and the number of yoga-ties that wander around with paper towels, TP, and things that really should be bought at a more conventional grocery store (Hello, Cala is a Block Away!) and it is generally overcrowded and expensive.But, having said that, I love going in here and picking up some things from the salad bar, the burrito bar and then maybe something for dinner because the lines are so long I wont have time to eat AND make dinner...Its a blessing and a curse.

The hot food in the deli is good, the prices on liquor are awesome and they have foods from around the world.

Great prices, produce sometimes is not too fresh but the staff is always friendly and help you find the best options. But in most of cases chicken, fish and vegetables are of the same quality as Ralphs but cost 30% less.

Great tasting fruit! Great vegi selection. Sale prices on produce are reason i go here. Meat dept small but very fresh with interesting pre-seasoned selections that are ready to cook. Find unusual international offerings too like Russian beers, Sour Cherry juice from Bulgaria + more. Package goods are over-priced, though, so stick to the outer aisles for best deals.

I probably only come here because its close to where I live. The staff is usually pretty nice, but its small and usually feels crowded. The selection is limited, and the prices arent that great. There are some occasional great deals though.

Probably the smallest and the less organised store out of the John Marketplace chain of stores in LA area. Nothing like the other nice locations, to crowded, unfortunate and limited selection of merchandise and food, no deli section, shady parking lot, feels unsafe to be there. Avoid .

Very small, smelly, rude customer service. Not a lot of variety. Is good for a quick ingredient grabber but you wont leave that fast, usually the line is long because they dont open enough registers.

Tamales right in the corner on irolo are the best! All 3 ladies make different types. From El Salvador, Mexico, Oacxaca.

I had no idea this Whole Foods existed until my significant other told me we were going here. I was surprised! There it was, tucked away across Van Ness.It seemed to have more cold-pressed juice than other locations Ive been to. I was able to grab some Boathouse Farms drinks, kombucha, and juice by WF. Good taste and flavor! I like the layout of the Whole Foods on Market Street a little more, but everything was here. They even had their sweets/desserts section with vegan options available. I might make my way back now that I know this spot exists- Im a regular at AMC Van Ness 14, so it could make for a good post-film trip for groceries or dessert!

Great neighborhood grocery store although selection can be scarce.

Worst jons ive ever been to. absolute worst. how does this place stay open? why do all your berries constantly have mold? nothing in the berry section is edible, its all contaminated. dirty store, moldy produce, and the people that shop there.... if jons could do something to bring the quality of this store up, id shop there more often, probably every day.

Racist, overpriced, and unedicated people ruining this place. The selection is not at all diverse. I would just go Ralphs on Western if I were you (only a few blocks down). They only hire Latinos here, its discriminatory.

Below Average Customer Service. I understand its a small neighborhood grocery store but I would think that wo I ld drive the staff to work harder and be proactive. Not too mention, theyre also over priced. Theres a Ralphs maybe a third of the mile away where your dollar goes further.
